Sun Island makes dreams become a reality. The service and care is exceptional! From the moment I've landed in Male until my departure after 12 days, everything was taken care of. I love the way the resort pays attention to every little detail to give one the best Maldivian experience. Thank you Sun Island for the most beautiful and amazing holiday!

The island and vegetation is beautiful. Unfortunately, people can spoil everything - beautiful azure water pollution is sewage, flowing solid from pipes under piers, garbage is burned on the island, the service is not very pleasant, even rude. For most attractions, such as beach disco, additional dinners, numerous bars, fish, seafood, everything has to be paid dearly for everything. The entire island is covered with coconut palms, but coconuts are only paid. Despite having a full all inclusive version of the drinks is limited, for many others, you have to pay for juices. A huge, unfriendly canteen. The tourist feels that everything is done for the maximum profit from selling the mass of additional options and not for his comfort.

A paradise island ! I highly recommend this resort - especially Bungalow Beach and half board to be free to hang out! Diving, snorkeling, jet skiing and opt for Follow the dolphins! Happy holidays and idleness! And especially plan a good budget to have fun on the island (in dollars).

Beautiful sea, island with many white beaches suitable for children, almost absent reef and cmq several hundred meters away from the shore. Super clean and organized resort, the staff is always available and ready for every customer need. good and varied international cuisine.

We are now back home after an AMAZING time at the Maldives. This year was our 5th wedding anniversary and we headed to a long but absolutely worthwile trip. We stayed for 2 weeks at the Sun Island, at a Sun villa. Besides the good weather and amaxing beaches, the room was good, cleaned twice a day. The food at the main restaurant is very varied and both waiters we had Safraas and Elli were great. The resort offers a lot of activities to choose from and we tried several. I tried the morning yoga which was ok, my wife tried the beach volleyball. We went to the sunset dolphin trip and we did see the backs of a dolphin pack swimming by. We had a lot of fun at the water sports. We also went sunset fishing for the first time and cought our dinner. We even had the couples massage at the spa which was great. But I guess experience that sticks out the most was the Big Game snorkeling. It was our first time snorkeling in the open sea and our guide Sham was the best! He is like a fish in the water with awesome swimming and diving skills, he was so nice in guiding and explaining everything, he even took videos and pictures with our camera for us. And we were lucky to swim alongside 2 whale sharks, a manta and a sea turtle.
We now have memories for life!

Sun island is one of the largeat island and i was there for 5 days to celebrate my first wedding anniversary, i would like first with the staff there they are so friendly and very approachable for any issues,,the hospitality of the place is so nice an neat that I would give 5 star. Many worry about the food but here in this resort that problem is sorted the food is so good and nice..The "vani cafe" which is open for 24 hrs has some amazing Indian food which tastes so good..the room service is so nice that you ask for anything it's done on immediately..the main restaurant provides a good service..well people who know swimming it's really more fun to exolexp the place. All in one word it's one best place to either go for honeymoon, family trip or jus for a holiday to relax urself.

The ocean is beautiful, the programs are good. The food is also good. Good place to snorkeling and diving

There were no azemar operatives on this island. One sucks.

Fantastic beaches. Some materials in need of maintenance. Good food and very friendly people.

A piece of heaven, you can do snorkeling and see the beauty of the reefs: sharks, stingrays, turtles, octopus, small and big fishes of all kind! The beach has the finest white sand and you can see birds and bats inland. We did the dolphin trip and saw these amazing creatures, a really unique moment. We will go to sunset fishing trip today. Feeding sharks and stingrays are also very attractive and you get the chance to see quite big sharks!

If you compare the accommodation with other 5 stars Maldive islands, Sun Island Resort & Spa is not the best to be honest. I was disappointed to see plastic bags and bottles in the sand near the main restaurant and rarely floating on the water. While definetly not a dirty place, they are 90% close to be perfect.

You can tell this is a bit old resort when you enter bungalows. We've stayed in a Standard Bungalow (because of an overbooking problem our room was not ready in the first day) which was not very pleasant, one big bed and one extra bed to accomodate 2 adults and 2 kids was not enough, very small walking area left. From a budget perspective some 4 members families may find this arrangement sufficient, for us it was a bit challenging and we will definitely not do it in the future.
The rest of the vacation we'he stayed in the 52sqm Superior Beach Bungalow which was far better for us. The room was well prepared and clean. Housekeeping is not the best as it was late, next day they failed to refill water and sodas but that was fixed when we talked to the cleaning staff.

The staff at the reception is nice, half of the rest of the personnel is quiet and look upset, others are happy and welcome you in a friendly manner. I believe that can be due to the social distancing, mask wearing etc.

The worst part is that all restaurants except the main and the Italian restaurant are closed.

The food at all inclusive is not exceptional, it is very repetitive. Again, for us it was not an important criteria so we are very happy overall.

Food and other activiities are expensive but this is the same on other resorts and islands. Examples $6 a coconut, $6 icecream, $5.5 coca cola minibar. Some prices listed do not include service charge 10% and 12% TGST.
We wanted to get reef snorkeling but it was available only one time per week, each Wednesday. Price $57 without taxes. They proposed turtle snorkeling at $75 without taxes and these were some of the cheapest activities.

My family enjoyed the water, snorkeling and the beach and the island because it is big compared to others.

I would return to this place and recommend it for its natural beauty.

Lovely place, really exceptional staff, there are various excursions you can do (even if expensive) the well-kept rooms (in the superior rooms I would change the phono because very old) the superlative overwater (a little distant from the pool where the evening is 'entertainment (I recommend renting bikes). Food is quite good as it is varied for every palate requirement. But what impressed me most is the staff, I am always available, greet you at every step and if you need you don't have to not even calling them are already there to assist you. A special thanks to Tara bartender, number one . Go and trust him.

Wonderful place for perfect vacation. Recommend for sure. Cristal clear ocean, great amenities, awesome service, people are great. We wet snorkeling and diving. Saw turtles and mantas, also wale shark. Food was great too. Pool is also good. Lot's of fish in shallow water to see. Recommendfull buffet. Shark and stingray feeding is such cool addition. Transfer to the airport as excellent. Amazing place to visit.

I loved my stay. The staff are very attentive, the landscape is magnificent.
The main restaurant in the bungalows is very good, the food is varied (a big thank you to Wafir for his smile and his good humor) there is something for everyone. I recommend 100%

What a place , a dream island with huge accommodation facility up to 465 rooms . Zero pollution , great scenic views , stunning water Bunglows , Great hospitality experience.

Real Heaven! The place is super calm with breathtaking views and nature. Service and facilities are also great.

I don't have enough words to describe our stay; heavenly, magical, idyllic, magical ... What happiness! When are we leaving ???
An island of paradise, sumptuous landscapes, exceptional encounters and beautiful underwater funds (dolphins, sharks, turtles, rays, giant bats, magnificent fish ...) We spent 10 days there and we did not know is not bored for a single second!
We would like to especially thank EMMY, from the diving center and CHOROUK, for the welcome for their kindness and their help during our stay because, small downside, very few people speak French on the island and it was a bit complicated for us before having met them. Thank you also to SOBAH, our waiter at the restaurant, for his kindness as well as to the whole hotel team for this unforgettable stay. We left with stars in our eyes and memories in our heads. We still have to learn English for the next time because we fell in love with this island ....
And we really hope to come back soon.

A dream vacation, perfectly clean and organized structure with every kind of comfort, the only flaw a little expensive extras.

Everyone at the resort is friendly and helpful. The food in the main restaurant is very good, with a lot to choose from. The rooms are a little outdated, but confortable with everything we needed.

Me and my wife are currently here while im writing this, its fantastic and so relaxed. We was swimming yesterday in the sea and a few small shark went straight past us. You can also swim straight over small reefs and there are no words tthat can explain what that was like. We spent so long swimming and watching the fish, crabs, and shark we ended up getting sunburnt on our backs. So plenty of sun cream or wear t-shirt in the water for the first few times. There is plenty to do here aswell so you will not be bord at all. We are looking now to book for next year and bringing thf children as loads for them.

Perfect place! The food is fresh and refined. There are no 100 dishes in the standard restaurant, but if you like eating, you'll love the sophisticated curries and masalas. There are always fish and meat. Some vegetables are grown on the island itself. Salads etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful everywhere. The rooms are in line with expectations and are not fully comparable to those of European hotels in the same category. But they are neat and cleaned daily. There is a big TV (40 ") also with ARD, whoever needs a TV? The air conditioner works very quiet and effective.The island always has somewhere a quiet place by the sea, if you want to.On the reef you can already Seeing many exciting things, at the dive spots outside much more.On our jet ski tour, which lasted 3 hours, we have seen Wahlheie, Delphiene, Manta Rays and much more .. Great dive spot on the way visited.It was the $ 500 really worth it Weather is the way you want it warmth Daily we had about 32 degrees with about 80 percent humidity ... The water within ... maybe 29 degrees outside maybe 27 .... you go in without freshening up and stays If you are looking for a bath with warm sea is here in good hands.My hygiene concerns were in vain.It is very clean.The tap makes a clean impression.We did not use it to brush teeth habit from Africa. Cook it, peel it or forget it ... has proven itself. We had no stomach problems. Ice cream was also left out in drinks and style. Only the sun caught us hard. Despite sun protection 50+, the jet ski kit was too fierce for us palefaces. But we survived that too. The guests are friendly, mostly well-kept and pleasant. I would like to come back anytime ...

Very nice island. Absolutely with all inclusive book! Food is great, large selection. Staff very friendly. You can do a lot on the island. (diving, snorkeling, excursions, tennis, ping pong, football etc) Dream vacation !!!

The resort is exceptionally developed. Wide choice of pastimes.

The only sore point was an insistent waiter with a tip Who made us go with a bad taste in his mouth, because he was rude.
It's definitely not a budget resort, but it's worth a visit.

This is our 5th time staying with my husband at this resort but probably the last time unfortunately.
We're still there until the end of next week. The quality has dropped a lot compared to before.
The catering is very disappointing, it looks like a canteen, and in addition I had a good food poisoning here (bedridden for 2 days) and instead of having an apology, seeing a commercial gesture, I was entitled to a covid test, and drugs that have nothing to do with intoxication (anti inflammatory drugs) paying extra!
I think they don't care about building customer loyalty or pampering already loyal customers, so next time we will go elsewhere and I would discourage everyone around me from coming here when I used to encourage them to come.

Exceptional resort, phenomenal service and nature as a postcard. Everything is perfectly clean and tidy. Heaven on earth.

The Island, beach and water is amazing. The staff is friendly and service is good, but not great. Our beach villa was big but the interior a bit dated. Wifi worked in rooms and reception but is slow. Around 0.6-0.8mbit. Food was okay but not super many options and the buffet was often crowded. Big shout out to our waiter Elias! The distance on the island is quite far if you are unlucky and you have to rely on the bus service which works but is a bit busy. I would recommend go here though if you are not paying a premium. Also, pool is very kids friendly and one of the better pools I visited.

Very nice resort,
beautiful sunsets, the island is relatively "big", so you won't get bored. There is also mini golf, billiards, squash, tenis and a fitness room. The sea is just amazing, beautiful and clean.
The staff always make an effort.
Rooms are clean, but some are a bit old. But at the end of the day you don't mind because you spend a minimum of time in the room.
There is always a program in the evening.
Some of the rooms in the bungalows are further away from the main restaurant, so you can have "bad luck" and you have to go further. However, you can call the reception and you will be picked up in a mini car.
The water in the room is replenished daily, but AI guests can get drinks almost everywhere at no additional charge.
There is also a good selection of cocktails that are included in the AI.
There are several bars and restaurants, some of which cost extra. It is priced very high. A pizza margerita starts at around 20 USD.
You are often asked if you don't want to book a special dinner in the evening, but for an all-inclusive stay I found the additional price of about 80USD / head not particularly appealing.

I only found two points that I didn't like:
- a bungalow consists of two apartments and there is a door between them that cannot be locked.
- All inclusive - you only have the choice between lunch on the first day or on the last day. With all inclusive I would expect that it "doesn't matter" whether I come at 5 in the morning or 6 in the evening and that I can still enjoy the full board. Many of the guests tend to come in the afternoon and leave in the morning, so that would be a zero-sum game for the hotel by and large. The price of the buffet is unfortunately too high if you want to add it extra.

I was there the fantastic paradisiacal place October October. Very helpful local people, what else can I say even now ....

If you are looking for a perfect relaxation in paradise, you are at the right address, the heat guide, the colorful fish, the shark-free sharks feed every day even sharks, the beautiful nature, the island quite large, it is worth borrowing a bycik 6 USD per day, moving faster, delicious cuisine , except pork, as we are in the Muslim country brown whale trips with great success, people very nice, you are a guest here

In itself the place was super nice as was the reception, but the service left a lot to be desired. And I can not recommend anything but all inclusive, because everything is extremely overpriced there. The food was relatively monotonous. You rarely got the same thing or something else, which tasted very funny. The beaches are great as are the views of the open sea. There is so much to say about the rooms that they are very old fashioned. The biggest excitement, however, was on the day of departure, since we had our flight in Male at 8:30 p.m., we wanted to eat something before the flight from the island to Male. However, we were denied this, unless we would pay for it because we are no longer guests and all inclusive is no longer valid, although we had to wait almost 4 hours for our plane on site. So one tries the vacationers with all possibilities, that saved money from the pockets.
Check-in staff completely unqualified and unfriendly.

Great reception nice staff. Dives with a haigarantie. Great beach houses. The outdoor showers could be greened. The bicycle rental I would abolish again. I've been on the island since 2006, there was no rental, was a bit more comfortable.

Nice place, you can calm down quite well. I recommend it, but don't forget to buy the full all inclusive option, unless the $ 15 shot doesn't scare you. Adding up expenses at the end of your stay will be more expensive than buying an all inclusive in the country. Cottages great service for seven. Smiling, cleaning several times a day, always ready to help. An unforgettable place but not one to which you can go back.

Awesome place, great food, drinks, lots of activities. Possible to see small sharks in the water next to beaches. Great for honeymoon. Great diving center on the side island with patient dive masters and awesome locations for diving close to the island. Recommended!

Very beautiful island paradise. Ideal for relaxation and snorkeling. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are very well maintained and the beaches cleaned. The alleys of the hotel and the vegetation are also well maintained, so it is very pleasant to walk around the whole island. The staff are very pleasant especially our waiter for the week, Mahesh who was really perfect. We enjoyed our stay. The only downside is the reception staff who do not always understand what you want and do not provide detailed information.

Lovely resort. It is necessary to go on all inclusive, so it is more profitable, because drinks in the heat are very necessary. Leave a tip to the bartender and the waiter once and your stay will be much more comfortable.
In the end, they were also pampered, but in principle, if you treat people with respect and a sincere smile, everyone is very friendly and tries.

Confident 4 stars, the room is comfortable, clean. The beach is also clean everywhere, but there is a line of coral stubs. Swimming does not interfere, only at the entrance and exit you need to be careful or in special shoes.

There is a lot of entertainment and free, everything else is expensive, but massage for a couple is very cool.

It is true that it takes a long time to get from St. Petersburg, but it was worth it. 10 days there is excellent.

Amazing place, staff, Maaniya restaurant, everything. Just perfect holiday.

Beautiful, delicious food. There are many opportunities for sports activities. You can rent a bike or take an electric car from A to B for free. Shark and stingray feeding takes place every day at 6.30 p.m. If you are lucky you will meet manta rays while snorkeling. The snorkeling trip to the whale sharks, dolphins and turtles is chargeable.

I would have given 10 stars because everything is really perfect ... almost the food has disappointed me quite a bit ... otherwise perfect

Very nice and quiet resort (just if you dont meet people from China). Superb beach, clean and quiet see, good for snorkeling, plenty of daily trips organized by hotel, sharks feeding every day. Real paradise to relax. One of the best location ever visited.
