Fantastic resort, friendly staff and views simply to die for. You will get some trouble with a few geckos and the odd bug here and there but nothing major or harmful. A real joyful experience with nothing but rest, relaxation and bliss. Highly recommended !

We have just returned from what was the most amazing stay at Coco Bodu Hithi. This resort has everything you could ask for; a beautiful beachfront villa and private pool, the interior design is incredibly beautiful, ocean villa with the best view of the Indian Ocean, felt like paradise, just like a dream. Brilliant quality of food/restaurants.

What really made our stay that extra bit special, was the incredible staff and customer service. We were made to feel so welcome. In particular, Asef, the staff members who really went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience of both the ocean villa, and beach house villa. We cannot thank these staff members enough!

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and cannot wait to return.

Beautiful location. Amazing Villas. We're in an Island Villa on the beach, it's huge with sunken living room, open plan with circular bath, massive bed, desk and plenty of room for our daughters extra bed. Patio doors to beach with day bed, table & chairs, shower plus loungers on beach with awning. Patio doors in front of bed to private pool, with chairs, day bed and shower. Idyllic. Restaurants excellent too!

We had the chance to stay on this paradise island ...

We had the chance to stay on this paradise island from January 3 to 14, 2021 for our honeymoon (half board in Escape Villa).

When we got to the airport, we looked for the agent who was supposed to greet us without finding him, despite the ten or so people present with signs from other hotels. We quickly stop by to buy a sim card from Dhiraagu in case Coco Bodu Hithi's free wifi is insufficient (50 USD = 30 GB, 300 min., 300 SMS, valid for 14 days).

We ask for directions at random and are accompanied to the right place. A gentleman confirms us that we were expected, he is surprised that we did not arrive earlier (we waited a long time for our luggage and there are more checks due to Covid-19).
He takes us to our speedboat where we are delighted to find small bottles of water.

40 minutes later, we are welcomed at the hotel. Sharian guides us to the reception, gives us a map of the island and sends us a lot of information via WhatsApp, he lets us know that we have to advance our watches by one hour compared to the local time in Male . He will be at our disposal throughout the stay.
We are very happy to learn that the Escape villa we requested at the end of the pontoon (515) has been allocated to us.

Accompanied on foot there, we are first dazzled by the magnificent view from the bedroom and the terrace.
A delicate herbaceous attention is reserved for us on the bed.
We then discover the room's equipment: air conditioning, small fridge, kettle, coffee maker, tea and coffee box, bottled water, TV, DVD player, showers (indoor and outdoor), large bathtub, double sinks, bathtub. round sun, small private swimming pool with two deckchairs, a coffee table, a table and two chairs.

There is also at our disposal a loufa, toothbrushes, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizing milk for the skin with green tea, cotton swabs, cotton balls and a small flashlight.
The decoration is pretty, simple and in harmony with nature.

On the other hand, the pine green paint of the sinks and the bathtub is rather in bad taste. Previous reviews have shown it used to be blue (much better looking), but run down and speckled.

On the first evening, we were surprised to find that no table was reserved for us at the Air restaurant. We have to wait until a solution is found, then go to the buffet. There is a choice, but there is not much left, surely we arrived a little late. We will discover, later, that the saying first come, first served makes perfect sense on this island.
At the end of the meal, we are surprised to have to pay for the drinks consumed (water and soda) because the travel agency had told us that they were included in half board.

We will spend most of our stay snorkeling.
The underwater fauna is one of the best points. On each outing we saw black tip sharks and turtles. Occasionally, eagle and manta rays. What happiness!

The island's mascots, the herons, are beautiful and not fierce. It s a pleasure to see them so close.

Regarding the weather, we had 3 sunny days, 6 cloudy days, 3 rainy days. Cloudy days were almost nicer as the sun is very intense.
On rainy days, it was unpleasant to walk to the village (about 10 minutes), despite the umbrellas available. Indeed, the use of these was limited by the wind and puddles formed on the ground. In addition, it is poorly lit at night.

Electric carts transport clients to Coco Residence only. We confirm the existence of two types of customers: "VIP" and others.

Me and my wife went on our honeymoon and it was truly a visit to paradise!

We stayed in a water villa and the view from the room is stunning. The water is so clear and beautiful.

The staff at the resort are excellent, all going the extra mile where they can. In particular the chefs Akhtar and humayan were very friendly and professional. The food in the main buffet area was outstanding; such a wonderful variety of food.

Will definitely be back!!

Great island , amazing chefs DANESH & a South insian chef from Trichy made me feel very happy with their preparations for the buffet at the AIR resturant. HAMDAN who waited on us at the AIR resturant went above & beyond to get our desired dishes personally to my table as I was injured during swimming & couldn't walk to the buffet spread, he made excellent mumbai chai for me on request which was super specific to the recipe I told him to follow especially when he was a native maldivean & had never made it before.

The island itself is amazing to experience & is truly unforgettable.

The Receptionist Sujatha was courteous but due to the quality issues I had faced during the stay , I wanted a compensation. Which took them almost an hour to offer , the offered compesatory villa was old and the restroom in it was stinking even after being cleaned by me & my family members as the housekeeping could remove it after our request.

The floating breakfast was delivered to our old rooms & we had to talk them to delivering it to our water villa from the beach bungalow, after we got our breakfast at 10am buy we ordered it to be deliver at 7am the quantity was not enough for a couple . You can see for yourself the size & content of the tray in my pictures. We were an hour late for our water sports because of this & had lost time in our pre booked activities there.

The only issue I had faced was the Reception staffs lack of approval power & speed to compensate especially for such an expensive island if not one of the most expensive Islands in the country.

I say give the island a stay but be very specific to your needs & keep constant follow ups with the reception staff as they speak well but are not as organized as they may appear at first.

This is a heavenly place on Earth - water, sun and air! The presence of living creatures in the rooms, of course, not familiar, but otherwise just a paradise. On the water, nothing like this, but we must go in the season (March, for example)

We had an amazing week here. The setting is beautiful and the atmosphere is calm, relaxed and peaceful. As a non-swimmer I was worried I would miss out on exploring the coral reefs, but was persuaded to wear a lifejacket and away I went: manta rays, reef sharks, an octopus and lots of clown fish (all called Nemo, of course). The staff are all fantastic and made us feel really special. The food is great, including some of the best I've ever had, and we couldn't fault it. Water sports are a bit pricey, so we avoided those, but otherwise we had plenty to keep us occupied. MLS

Nice hotel overall but deserves rejuvenation and modernization in the rooms. Very friendly staff. Very beautiful site. Very insufficient on the quality and diversity of meals. Overpriced restaurants. You have to add on the price of the half board to eat pretty much properly. Correct PDJ.

Amazing location, great service, excellent rooms on the water, with your own pool and sundeck, plus the reef right below you to snorkel.
Beautiful views wherever you go! Good food.

This is a stunning resort, in an expensive location.

The staff are charming and helpful, but the weather outside of peak season can be very changeable.

The nature spotting opportunities are great but don't expect to do ANY activity for free even if It's "included" or part of your full or half board. There is a tourist tax to pay here and it's high at about 12%.

The food and drinks are incredible, even the "bog standard" buffet. i.e. Not the restauraunts where you can eat as part of your food deal.

Make friends with "the egg man" and all the chefs who man live cooking stations at the buffet early.

Make an effort to ask where staff are from and speak to them in their language or about their culture.

English appears to be the most widely spoken language it seems, even over local dialects, and staff often use it to communicate with each other over "Maldivian" dialects.

Bring U.S. dollars if you want to tip, but some local currency too especially for excursions to the main land.

Tipping is not expected, however it's good manners to offer money especially to lower paid or physically hard jobs. The staff here are often packed in like Sardines and most share rooms and work 13 hour shifts! So remember this if someone doesn't understand or doesn't smile.

The rooms are spacious and well thought out, but do ask for housekeeping to pay extra attention to your floors and toilet! Standards of cleanliness vary and on arrive our bathroom stank for days before I recovered enough from jet lag to make a point of it.

You will be hot, and humid, but The air con. and fans do work...although noisy.

Don't go outside after they "fog" the island to rid it of mosquitoes or for an hour or so after if you can help it...It stinks! In more ways than one ;-)

Do bring mosquito tablets and ask for more adapters for your electrical sockets and soap for each sink!

Also invest in asking for a couple of spare towels or bath mats or floor mats, the shower will leak and your feet will be wet often and the floor is super slippy when wet!!

Do bring your own snorkel, flippers and mask. Do go snorkling, Do expect to see many of the cast of blockbuster movies such as " A sharks Tale" "Finding Nemo" and "Finding Dory" or at least fish that look the spitting image of them.

DO PICK UP A COUPLE OF FREE LIFE JACKETS AND WEAR THEM OR STRAP THEM TO YOU IN THE SEA UNTIL YOU CAN SWIM WELL USING YOUR NEW SNORKEL FLIPPERS E.T.C. AND KNOW THE TIDES AND CURRENTS OF YOUR PRIVATE BEACH!

Choose an island Villa over a water Villa and get your own private bit of beach. And 3 showers and a bathtub.
Make sure your Villa is away from the Diesel fumes coming from the generator of the team village, and away from any planned construction work!

Go to the spa! It's worth it! Because....You're worth it!

Bring factor 100 waterproof sunscreen! UVA and UVB rated.

Have fun guys! Lots of love
Bryony.

Do not go here. Save your money. The service here is sooo poor for such a beautiful property. The buggie's never available. They don't have cycles either. We ended up walking so much. Our butler was absolutely clueless about inclusions in our package. We'd see a new guy at reception every day and we kept explaining the same thing everyday to a different person. The entire staff was so confused. Buffet system is decent. Latitude lounge is a savior with great food and alcohol. But again there are better places with better services. Do not go here.

The service we received from Ahmed Rasheed was second to none. He was extremely helpful and helped us all along the way. The resort is beautiful and the residence is fantastic. The lush corals, beautiful villas and crystal clear water just makes the whole place stand out. Thank you Ahmed for making our honeymoon enjoyable

The best resort in the Maldives hands down. It's a 10 year old resort, so the guys there know what they're doing. It is a bit pricey though but worth it. The fine dining is great at the Stars restaurant and the water villas are stunning. Beautiful atmosphere, great food and a great place for vacation.

Amazing. Beyond words beautiful.

Amazing. Beyond words beautiful.
A few tips though:
Ladies leave your stiletto heels at home. You'll be walking on sand 90% of the time.
All inclusive is not worth it unless you're really heavy eaters and drinkers. Even then, bear in mind that they have a limited alcohol list for the all inclusive.

If you are looking for paradise or heaven on earth, then look no further.. from breathtaking views of the ocean, to excellent service our overall experience was magnificent. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in 2016 (I know its late but I just had to do this review)!

My breath was literally taken when I first set eye's on the beaches of this beautiful resort. Arriving in grand style by private speed boat, we were greeted by exceptionally attentive staff who made us feel so welcomed and ever so special, service was not spared by any means with staff readily available and anticipating needs.

We were luckily upgraded to the "Coco Residence"..... which is just absolutely beyond amazing!! You literally dive off your deck into the water and can swim out to the "drop off" where the fish are a plenty, bright and colourful. Our room also had it's very own stunning private infinity pool.

We spend most of our time at our Villa - the room service was so good, as were the food and cocktails.

I'd highly recommend this resort if you are looking for true luxury and privacy.

Best,

Mrs Tepe Travels.
