Fine place to visit for honeymoon and also for vocations this will blow your mind . The cost of living is very expensive but worth it
Perfect destination for honeymooners as well as for family trips. With sand n sea waves around you, you get to energise yourself for your routine life.
Except for the weather, the beach holidays in November were fantastic for the first two days. I have nothing to complain about about the resort itself. A beautiful white beach with turquoise blue water awaits you. The service in the resort is worth 10 stars, the whole staff, from the cleaning staff to the people at the front desk, takes care of all issues, no matter who or but. Our room was cleaned properly twice a day. At this point, a big compliment to the gentleman who cleaned our room. None of the staff seemed pissed off or was rude, as you know it from one or the other hotel. When eating I had absolutely nothing to complain about. We were able to eat varied meals 3 times a day for 1 week. Those who like Indian cuisine will love the food. All in all, the vacation was almost perfect.
The only thing that was extremely tedious was the arrival and departure.
On arrival we landed at the airport in Male at around 12.30 p.m. As we found out on site, it should continue at 3 p.m. In the end we flew on at 5 p.m. and then, after the flight and speedboat ride, we weren't at the resort until 7.30 p.m. So the first paid day at the resort was for ass!
The same shit when leaving. Although our flight from Male airport was only at 11:50 p.m., we had to check out at 1.30 p.m. and leave the island. Since nobody really informed us about the domestic flights before the trip, I had paid for a late check-out, because of course I thought that we would leave the resort to the airport much later.
The resort itself cannot help it, the gentleman at the reception told me that I would get the money that I paid for the late check out back. I was told that because of the whole Corona situation there are fewer domestic flights and that is why it is so problematic.
It is not too much to ask that the tour operator informs you before you travel. Waiting for hours in the heat is completely uncool!
So it is better to clarify in advance what the domestic flights look like.
I can recommend the resort 100% with a very clear conscience.
Beautiful island, simply fantastic, good food, crystal clear water! Unfortunately, a lot of Russians, which I wouldn't really mind at all if they weren't very naughty and indecent. Jostle in the queue, cheeky to the waitress. Make yourself plates full which you then leave. And are also very rude.
Nice sky, beautiful beaches and good people.. but everything was expensive!
Tip class amenities and best service I loved the place
A very beautiful, very quiet location, but let's not forget the Maldives
Funny place
The funny thing is that one of the cheapest in the Maldives, as a result, vacationers are very different and, which is completely uncharacteristic for the Maldives, there are many of those who already boast that the Maldives allowed themselves.
Killed resort
I don t know when it was renovated (it feels like never before), but it is felt everywhere
The hotel is probably worth its prices, but those who want the "real Maldives" have nothing to do here
Resort located on the largest island of the Maldives, in fact you move inside with bicycles or electric cars that act as a shuttle. I don't even have to say the sea "from applause" ditto for the white beaches!
Take the view that everything here has a high cost, for example an alcoholic drink costs around 17 dollars plus taxes, so to drink a cubaliber it takes 20 dollars. Excursions, those of about three / four hours, you pay no less than 70 dollars + taxes. Taxes apply to everything, that's how it works here! Marlin fishing costs $ 430 more and more taxes! So for a week-long stay wanting to do a couple of (cheap) excursions have a couple of drinks in the evening and buy some souvenirs, calculate that on average you will spend around 1000 dollars! Let's talk about the Maldives anyway! For the rest, good international cuisine, always attentive and overly helpful staff. You can get out of the room 10 times and they'll do it again ten times. I stayed in an apartment and I must say very nice with a very picturesque Maldivian bathroom! Unfortunately there is no daytime or evening entertainment, apart from some sporadic evenings with music not to be confused with a disco and when there is a fee!
Amazing ..affordable prices..staff were very welcoming and always kean to help you..very organised in every thing.. if i had the chance i would go back to them
Avoid this place. It is for low quality mass tourism. Although the landscape is amazing and the sea is a surreal turquoise color, the hotel and the surrounding area need renovation. Service is unacceptable, cheap labour force, overworked untrained staff. Poor trick with the camera in the room that they charge you. Hotel management is a joke. There are better places you can find in Maldives
Amazing holiday destination for both families and couples
To reach this island u need to take domestic transport. Island people will book the domestic transfer flight. They always book wrong flight and make u wait in the airport for minimum of 3 to 4 hrs. This is not only my experience, I discussed this problem with other tourist on the island most of the told me even they faced the same problem waiting in airport.
I book water villa for 2 days paid 50k per day. I was made to stay only for 1.5 days, more than 7 hrs will go in airport.
They say your travel agent did not inform the arrival time. When I toll them into conference then they agreed it's negligence from their said.
Loved our stay here at Superior Bunglaw. Have a private beach right in front of the house. Amazing room service and great choice food offered in the buffet. Highly recommend this place. Lack of Internet access is a bummer. Internet is available in one of their cafe and lobby I think. But it's almost dead. Spa services are very expensive. Even for Dubai standards. That aside, this is a great place to stay and swim in the ocean.
It is necessary to replace the DJ, dolphins have little jumping, on the contrary high waves ... otherwise paradise on Earth
Beautiful, the staff are the most friendly and helping, the only problem is the water bungalows, they need a bit of renovations.
Excellent stay at Sun Island Resort. The island and its beaches are magnificent. The food is perfect and you will find several specialties. Thanks to the extremely friendly and professional staff. Mention to the chef, sous chef, executive chef as well as to the valets, the pool manager and housekeeping also.
Sun Island is a magnificent island of Nalaguraidhoo, will capture your heart with its exotic tropical flowers and beautiful greenery. Food is good.Good choice for 5 days of vacation.
Wow!
Excellent food: all .... especially JackFish and fruits
Amazing service
Spotless rooms.... cleaned twise a day!
Beach white like the snow
Ocean baby blue and calm
Wild quiet around.... makes you feel peaceful
Planing next trip back!
We spent a week of enchantment, there is everything a person can expect ... fun, relaxation, good food ...
One of the most beautiful places. Courtesy kindness of the staff,
Super nice resort with long stretches of beach. Rather larger island with lots of buildings and activities. The island can still be circumnavigated easily. The outgoing Spitz in the east is also beautiful, a real experience.
Very good hotel, from the facilities where it had many activities to service with very friendly and smiling people, is a paradise and well worth visiting
I stayed in Sun island for 4N in Nov,18. First of all, just to reinforce your idea of a Maldives trip if it's your first time - GO FOR IT! The natural beauty is terrific irrespective of which resort you choose. I can't compare sun island to other resorts in Maldives (because I didn't visit any other) but I am more than satisfisfied by the hospitality extended to us. The management is efficient, rooms are kept clean and tidy and the sports/excursion facilities available are sufficient to keep you occupied for days. Only improvements I believe could be made to the bicycles rented (which are quite old and rusted), Maaniya food and the Spa which are average. There are no good house reefs for snorkelling and you have to go on excursions to experience a good one. Half board is the best because you get to taste foods in other restaurants and even if you don't, a heavy breakfast and dinner will keep you running just fine. Plus you will save a lot of time otherwise spent on walking to restaurant, eating, etc. Water bungalows are splendid and pretty and should be tried for 2 nights atleast in my opinion. The dive centre guys could be a little more co-operative and vocal. To summarize, if you not too fussy and sensitive, and out to experience the natural beauty of Maldives on a budget, this resort is perfect for you.
Friendly staff and always available, variety in the meals, the beautiful island
Great resort with great employees, but I would like to point out Ajay that works in the pool bar. he is the best as he makes the best coctails and is always in a good mood, smiling and being very polite. thumbs up for him, promote him please
The employees are all very nice and the island is a dream, however, I did not enjoy the service for honeymoon ... they do not value anything. IT does not do justice to the name ... you have little choice of drinks in this regime ...
Perfect location and delicious food. One of the biggest islands so still enough space to find your own privacy.
Very disappointing!! I expected a little more from a place like this and for so much money. For me personally only 2 stars for the hotel ... and I am a very simple person with few demands!
+ very beautiful and clean islands / more staff than guests.
+ Room service 2 to 3 times a day / a bit excessive
+ great and huge spa
+ who is still a beginner in snorkeling will be very happy ... lots of great and colorful fish, sharks and rays.
+ beautiful and well-kept pool which unfortunately shows many signs of wear
-_- All inclusive very bad !!! You have to pay for almost everything or only get e.g. from 10 a.m. free drinks. Nevertheless, be careful what you order, otherwise you will pay again immediately.
-_- The waiters are just way too slow ... maybe because there are too many. 10min waiting time is normal. Waited 45min today
and I'm back in the room with my wife !!
-_- The beaches are almost everywhere very clean and well-kept except to the right of the water bungalow, the beaches are full of dead corals / in the water too, which is very painful if you step on them.
-_- Pool staff bring mats and towels faster with a little tip ... does that have to be?
-_- the rooms are kept very simple and not exactly quiet ... you can hear everything and it is sometimes very loud. Bring your own hair dryer just like shampoo ..
-_- The food is unfortunately always the same but the quality is good if you keep your hands off the cheese and sausage. Most of the drinks have expired or the best before date has a different meaning than in Germany.
Maldives maybe YES but definitely not this island again !!
Great environment and service. Made our holidays fun-filled.
Awesome place, awesome food, nice sun villa as well as water bungalow, nice staff and service, big pool to enjoy, lot of activity along with photoshoot, gym etc, nice view and in middle of sea
Sun island resort is located on one private island in Maldives, this is 5 star property with natural beaches, corals, and very colourful marine life. We get to see baby sharks, sand sharks, colourful fishes and sting rays after evening time. But the property is very safe with very good staff who always ready to help. The island is well maintained and very beautiful...
Everything was great. We will be back. It's just beautiful and there is nothing to complain about
Water is recommended for the massage. My wife said it's like on cloud 7 ...
Wonderful place to spend holidays. Crystal clear water just a few meters from the bungalow, tropical forest around gives you that special feeling that you are in a place close to paradise.
Restaurant offers nice choice of food to fit taste of people from around the globe. Surely you can find a dish from your local region or try something different.
On spot you have PADI diving center with variety of diving sites and trips including night-wreck diving (that I can recommend).
You can rent a kayak or catamaran to explore the area on the sea or bike to do so on the land.
On the down side there is almost unbearable heat day&night (around 30deg Celsius and great humidity, but this is to be expected in this climate) and drink prices are extremely high (5$ for 250ml glass of Coke) that may get troublesome for some. Also WiFi is only available in several places on the island - restaurant and few bars.
I will definitely come back some day :)
Beyond words, the place is naturally amazing. Love the farming at the resort. Water villas are beautifully maintained with enthusiastic staff.
Wonderful, quiet and relaxing Island. Absolutely outstanding Service as compare to other resorts. What is important for us we can walk around the Island on the beach along see. Wind is cooling us down. Good p ace to make love
Very overrun a real island feel does not arise. It is more of a resort or club hotel. The water bungalows are nice but a real beach does not exist. The prices are salted as everywhere in the Maldives. But you know that before and if you keep in mind that everything is somehow carted by plane or boat is that also understandable. On the whole rather a club hotel than a Maldivian dream island.
Beautiful. Beautiful beach. Superior beach bungalows with the best and most beautiful beaches are 249-288.
Paradise in the middle of the Indian ocean. One of the largest islands in the Maldives crowned by crystal clear water and white sand. A place to feel pampered and enjoy pure and healthy relaxation. We mainly move on foot or by bike, but we also have a "Taxi" service, a golf car that offers this service. Snorkeling makes you appreciate the place in its entirety enjoying the fish show of the coral reef.
An unreal experience, beautiful resort and friendly people.
an experience we will miss ,, nice place, very clean and fresh ..
Best place for honeymoon. I love the views around this island. Had a great experience with quality and service.
Nice area, great beach and water, lots of fish to see
It is worth the long journey to this Paradies.Noch never seen something beautiful with fantastic food.
This island is all about fifty shades of blue..
Loved it
For the place and the price it could have a bit more quality, although it did not leave anything to be desired.
Had wonderful experience there. The staff is always helpful and there for the your need. Request for the romantic dinner setting and they provide a completely different dinner experience altogether with the lighting and the beach setting is really need to be experienced
If you want complete and true vacation in heaven look no further. White sand, turquoise ocean and green coconut palm trees. Lush, crazy world of sea creatures is there in front of your doorstep next to your own chairs on the beach, 10 meters away, literally. Be not afraid of sharks because they are lovely neighbors. There are also stingrays and sea turtles and even barracudas and morays. Yes, that's a moray!
Food is abundant, water is not, neither is alcohol but you don't need it. Just relax and enjoy. There are activities if you wish, but you don't need those. Those are for backpackers and people with itchy feet. You come to Sun Island to relax, at least until 5AM when very silly and loud birds start to sing, nay scream like lunatics. But you know what? I forgive them!
Omg where do I start beautiful setting beautiful beaches beautiful island staff going above and beyond even in this covid times hygiene well over the normal only thing to be negative about is due to covid almost all external trips are not allowed by maldives government would have given 5 if not for covid
Good for those wanting to go to the maldives on a smaller budget or families. Quite dated decor in some places but can see they are updating
Beautiful and super-equipped place. Excellent choice to come to the Maldives for the first time!
Maldives is of course a great destination. Very nice house reef at this island. Food is very good. In terms of sustainability, it could be better, such as when changing the towels. At the pool, Russian guests are not so friendly. Many unnecessary forms when making excursions. Whale shark quest is a real disappointment! Very bad for both the tourist and the animal.
Fabulous views and professional preparation of the entire stay. You have to see it.
