Well maintained and beautiful.. only issue is that resort is far from male airport

A great place for a romantic trip. Note on all inclusive - applies only to one restaurant and several bars. The rest of the restaurant is paid. The squash and tennis can not be played because there is no air conditioning. Be sure to use the fishing trip and snorkelling. According to unofficial information obtained on the site, there are over 900 people working there, which means that the 1200 guests have a sensational proportion :-)

Fantastic place beautiful beaches clean cottages delicious food and a great organization. Raj, just. The island is large so you can not see the crowds calm and silence perfectly

The ocean is great, there are no huge waves, swimming is a pleasure, excellent spa, 3k + meals

Very beatiful island. Stayed for 2 weeks. Best supreme water bungalows is between 130-160. You should have all inclusive because prices are high. Food in main restaurant is not great but there are other restaurants to choose from time to time. Would recommend it! Nice staff and very welcoming.

amazed by the stars at night, the birds sang all day all night, it has parrot gardens, all vegetables and fruits they serve are grown freshly in lush gardens. sharks, fishes, stingrays, marlins swam under my water villa, and the buffet was one of the richest and best ones ive ever seen, worth spend my 6000 usd( i booked 2 water villas for 3 days), it was like a dream, i hope i get it again sometime soon.

All good cooking from God, organization of themed evenings with romantic dinners etc. etc. a vast amount of fauna and the possibility of seeing the whale shark live and throwing ourselves together fantastic holiday ...

Wonderful place and crystal clear waters in all corners of the island, staff always available and courteous. Impeccable cleanliness and change clothes twice a day. There is so much choice for food, a truly spectacular buffet. I would not recommend taking the Blue Lagoon excursion because there is not all this coral reef to see and in the end we spent the day on an island next to the resort, so to be called scandalous as the prices are very high ( 60 dollars per person). Even for aquatic activities are advertised much but in the end the parasailng and water jets we could not do it and did not understand why, every day a different excuse. However overall it is gone, a vacation of true relaxation.

An amazing island that I would recommend to anyone who wants sun and bath and a whole beach for themselves!

Beautiful place, super friendly most of the attention, pity they do not have people who communicate in Spanish because that makes you miss some activities or things that make a better stay.

Beautiful island and very courteous and nice staff. The rooms are partly a bit old but new ones are being built and what do you want on such an island in the hotel room. In buildings, for example. Masks are compulsory when eating, which is also signposted, but unfortunately very few guests stick to it. Still a wonderful vacation.

I was flipping through videos on U Tube about famous beach destinations, when i came across this video....Sun island, Maldives.
Somehow, i made up my mind to visit this island resort which is shaped like small fish with a long tail...
The tail vanishes on high tide, on low tide you can walk on the sandy tail with the sea greeting you on all quarters...
What really struck me as phenomenal was the colour of sea water and the colours of the sand....The perfect marine blue clear waters and white sand..
A photographers delight this island resort which offers all the necessary amenities in abundance, a lovely pool with a waterfall, tasty and hygenic culinary, nice comfortable rooms, lovely solar powered Aircon machines, a part of the beach reserved for you, complete with beach furniture and a small tap outside every roomy cottage to help you keep the sand outside..
Lovely restaurant cafes serving deicious food, grand gardens and walkways, I would call it a honeymoon couples paradise, well stocked bars, name it they have it.
So well organised, Fly to Sun Island and add at least 5 years to your life.
A meeting point of the sun, the sands, fresh waters, good food, nice service, smiling faces...maybe a trifle expensive but worth it...

Beautiful island.Its the largest and the most southern.Its a long journey to get to it but I don't think it's worth the 5*s that it's been given, especially the accommodation which is a bit shabby.Needs a refurb.

The beach is, if you have a superior bungalow, really nice. However you can get unlucky with many dead corrals on your way to the sea and in it, if you have a standard room. Don't skimp on the room, get a superior bungalow.

Everything else is a 3 star experience, not 4! This is not a luxury hotel. Even with all inclusive you end up paying for every little thing. No water sport is included and prices are high.

Mosquitoes are ubiquitous. But unlike water sport, are free. Sometimes the resort feels like a mosquito feeding machine with tourists supplying the food. But they do what they can and smoke the island twice daily.

The food is.. Ok. They have a giant 1000 table feeding hall with a buffet and 4 coffee machines. I felt reminded of eating at university. Another main point is.. Dinner is done at 8.30 pm. If you want food after that you need to go to one of the other paid restaurants.

The main bar is fun. The events are OK and the music not bad at all.

Having said all of this, it was a great experience with the best beach I've seen in my life. Expect a fantastic beach and a 3 star hotel and you'll have the vacation of your life.

This place is a bit of a dump. It seems as though there has been no renovation since 1985. Waterfront room was in desperate need of an update. Most staff were friendly, some were rude. Apparently there sewage system dumps directly into the ocean, which is shameful. I would be devastated if I traveled thousands of miles to the Maldives and this is where I chose to stay. Luckily I was only here for work. My advice is to stay somewhere else.

So tranquil staff excellent weather hot food tasty

Given this is a resort in the Maldives, it is already winning in so many ways!! Will share some details on the resort:
1) we stayed in superior beach bungalow for two nights, room 218
- not really on the beach, there is a stretch to get thru before you re actually on the beach. We noticed when we went canoeing later that other parts of the island actually have the bungalows much closer to the beach. Just so you set expectations
- spacious room, very clean, with outdoor seating area
- large bathroom, with an outdoor shower
2) we stayed one night in over water villa, room 345
- again, spacious, very clean room with outdoor lounging area, walk out into the ocean from your side steps
- if you can, request the sunset side. We were in an east facing room

Overall, the only part that irked me were the strange rules on the all inclusive plan we had purchased. Paying as much as we did for the water villa, we had to walk to the other side of the island to get a drink (outside of lunch and dinner hours). We re on vacation, we ve saved up for this for a while, put a bar where your highest paying customers are staying!

All in all, you ll enjoy your stay. Based on research and I did a fair bit, it was the more affordable option of resorts that have over-water villas, which was on our wish list. I know the resort is highly promoted to Chinese,
Russian and British tourists and you ll see that in the demographic of the guests. Mostly, if not all couples, did not see too many kids. Hope that helps!

the best place in the Maldives with Family. beautiful beaches and although the village was full it seemed to always have the whole beach to itself. so many services from sports to catering to excursions and medical care ... excellent buffet and very varied! I hope to come back soon!

Great and big island. It is the Paradise that came true. Very friendly and courteous staff, the best weather, varied buffet, sun guarantee, a few offers are limited and only healthy guests because the C19 test is mandatory - at least currently, everyone is looking closely and even a fever was checked shortly before access to the island. All very, very safe and confident. Let's see how the remaining 13 days will be.

Do swim for a while. But then you have something. Despite the hundreds of bungalows on the island, you are sometimes alone on the virgin beach. Little pollution seen or it must be the bleached coral. Food excellent. Staff very friendly. You can do everything. But it's not necessary. Excursions definitely recommended to spot mantas and whale sharks!

It's such a paradise on earth. One hotel on the island. Huge area. A green garden with beautiful plants, a fairy-tale beach with white powdery sand, delicious food and very nice people. What more could you want?

I was at this resort in May19 with my wife and daughter and we loved it. Hot water, palm trees and impeccable staff, always attentive and with a smile, every day. A special hug to the chefs who treated us so well

Avoif at all costs...does nto worth your money...firstly they say its 20min flight from Male...in reality it take 4 hours...due to bureaucracy delaya...and extreme un professionalism...secondly i was told that everyone is friendly...thats a lie they only nice if you give them tip everytime...otherwise they donr care about you and they are even rude...thirdly there is live music every night- so much for tranquility and maldivian experience...food is awfull...there is no maldivian experience...and forget the no shoes no worries style...i stepped on a pin on the first day there....

Nice Island but with a little bit expensive diving and not really nice waiter in the main restaurant.

Lovely place to enjoy and relax. We had a beach bungalow and it was just perfect, straight out of the door and you are on the beach. Hakim who looked after our bungalow was excellent, kept it absolutely spot less, couldn't have asked for any one better. Would highly recommend this resort and spa, we hope to come back in 2020.

The resort is really nice... enjoyed a lot.. the sports activities are good and the instructors ( Ali baba, nawaz and iboo) are very good instructors and respect the customers a lot. They made our trip more exciting...hope to visit again.

Great vacation spot to relax! Beware of additional offers! Often overpriced Nepps! Snorkeling is a must! Bring your own equipment, rent is overpriced! The most colorful fish can already be seen at the house reef. Even shark, turtle and octopus can be observed.

Beautiful place, great views and great staff. can get really hot must wear sunscreen, and be ready for water sports and activities. Food is expensive and dinner in the main hall closes by 9 so take some snacks and ramen with you for late night munchies.

This is one of the most amazing resort in Maldives, had a great time.

Great place with great scenery. Very good food. It's like being on paradise. Beautiful white sand with great amount of wildness. Great staff, professional and always they have always smile on their faces :) Highly recommend! One of the best places I've been on earth! Totally must see!

Perfection. We enjoyed a wonderful holiday. Green, color, damp air, white sand that didn't burn. Spa, different activities. Well thank you.

The resorts main advantage is the location: the Maldives are stunning. But the all-in-clusive isn't a full all-in, you can only eat at designated restaurants, have a set place in a buffet restaurant where the food is mediocre and drinks like cocktails aren't included in most places. Still, all-in is probably cheaper then paying for everything. The homes on the water have a basic interior. The staff isn't fully focused on providing service. There are a lot of Russians here. The views and surroundings are amazing, though.

Just arrived from a week. Fantastic sea and landscapes of a thousand and one night. Eat good. But the hospitality is very poor. If you plan on snorkeling and see a lot of fish, I would say that you have seen much better coral barbers.

It was a fantastic 2 weeks on the island, so versatile and never boring. The food was sensational and you can experience a lot. The shark feeding every evening, the water sports center, the many sports activities or just leisurely stroll the white beaches and the beautiful, heavenly Enjoyed flair.5 stars are not enough. 10 stars to all staff. Busy and friendly. Top !!!!! We will be back.

Somewhat bigger and more touristic atol, with a wider range of restaurants, accommodation ... but still a small place with a lot of privacy;)

We spent our best holidays on our honeymoon trip to the amazing sun island resort! Very beautiful island with excellent beaches, crystal clear, very friendly staff and delicious food. The choice of water villa was perfect for the purpose of our trip! I recommend it unreservedly and we will definitely go again!

Maldives is an amazing place for vacation. Was skeptical about how the weather will be in First week of July but the weather was just perfect.

Sun Island Resort island is definitey an amazing place to visit. I stayed in a superior beach villa and water villa. The beach villa is spacious and comfortable. Things you wont find in beach villa is Iron box so if you are staying for a longer time either you can opt for the laundry services which is chargable or get your own iron box. Water is expensive in all over Maldives. They will give complementary 2 bottles of water per day.

Things i liked:

1. Water villas
2. Night activities
3. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner
4. Sunset point

Things which i didn t like in service:

I booked my honeymoon package over here however they didn t do any decorations or gave the fruit basket complementary wine. After reaching out multiple times to the service desk, they provided the complementary wine n fruit basket but there was no decorations. So make sure you get an email confirmation feom then on honeymoon details when booking a reservation here. So 3* for the service.

Still i am going ahead with 5* to this place since the place is amazing.

Price quality coincide completely, for the Maldives the price is good, I liked everything. The island is big - it's cool, for the first time in the Maldives it is ideal.

Very good hotel Sun Iceland spring welcome everyone to your little care very good idyllic stay in the eye and the memory card alone flat does not speak French bcp complicated to be understood, excursions too expensive interest to have the wallet filled all inclusive do not want to say a single restaurant included among the 7 restaurant, otherwise very very good stay seen and beautiful islands now back to reality

This was one of our most amazing vacations ever and the most important part was the customer service.

From people smiling very naturally and everybody being polite to the special care that every employee on the island has towards turists and customer experience (the small things make the biggest difference, like employees driving vehicles in the night and stopping and turning off their lights when turists were passing by by foot or bikes).

Special thanks to Ibrahim Aleef for being trully outstanding and helping us with information every step of the way, starting from direct communication on social media channels to face to face interactions, from info prior to the vacation to full support during the entire stay. He just made our vacation worry free.

Also a thing worth mentioning is that the island has amazing internet connection, I was not expecting that.

Positive or things to definitely try on the island:

- Sand bank in the east side of the island at sunset or sunrise
- Beach bar on the east, close to the sand bank
- Water sport center (paddle at sunset)
- Snorkeling next to the Italian Restaurant up to few hundred meters west

- Shark/Ray feeding
- Visiting the banana plantation and the farm on the west side of the island
- Snorkeling trips, especially the one with 3 spots (Whale Shark, Mantas, Turtles, without fishing)
- Zero Garden looks amazing but was closed
- Biking around the island (recommend renting for the entire period) - every time coming from dinner we took the long way just to have a nice ride trough the gardens
- Very good cocktails in All-Inclusive pack (would be nice to add more because you have all ingredients and it's awkward to pay)
- Watching the starry night sky ;)

Things to consider improving:

- Overworked personnel / more personnel (I get the Covid situation but sometimes had to wait for 20-30 minutes for a cocktail)
- Bike rental personnel
- Information regarding activities (snorkeling areas, trips with snorkeling spots that don't repeat)
- Scuba diving should go to a different spot than the Italian restaurant
- Internet connection problems in Caffe
- Rooms are a bit outdated/old
- SUNSET Villas (name not related to sunset)
- Private dinners (red tents) could be placed somewhere more private
- Sunset Villas outside bed frame was sticky
- Would need more Hammocks in the water and "photography friendly" places ;)
- Taxes display on prices
- Wine from All-Inclusive package (really bad)
- Maybe consider sunbeds with wheels
- Plant more trees that have flowers with amazing smell ;)
- Adding a water gear shop

Would definitely come back.

I think I should start with the negative things, as there were not too many. First, the tiles used in the rooms are really slippery when wet and you have to be very careful when taking a shower. Second, the food is too good and you should do at least a three hour high intensity workout every day to burn those extra calories.

Now to the good things. The rooms are really nice and you have everything you can wish for. TV, Wifi, good beds, room cleaning even twice a day. On the island you can do a lot of activities like volleyball, basketball, football, table tennis, canoeing, snorkeling and you have a lot of extra trips that you can pay for like searching for whale sharks, manta rays, sea turtles etc... there should be something for everybody. The beach almost belongs to yourself. Although the whole island is a resort, you never feel that it's crowded - most times it's the opposite and you think "where are all the people?". Except in the main restaurant, but there's so much food - no one will starve. I can fully recommend this resort and I'm pretty sure I'll come back one day

There are no words to describe the wonderful stay spent, absolutely to try and redo, all great, perfect bungalows overlooking the sea, great food, excellent service

Greatest hotel i've ever seen! Great restaurant
with very yummu food and funny staff. And great bar near reception. Big beach for Superior Beach Bungalows. We were at Big Game Adventure. We saw manta ray, turtles and fishes. But we dont saw the whale sharks. We was on nearby island. So if you choosing Sun Island or Paradise Island choose Sun Island.

Absolutely amazing experience we had of the Sun Island Resort on the Maldives.
Would definitely recommend the place and therefore 5 stars from here.
