Best resort, all facilities are available.. awesome experience.. Only Challenge is that it is a bit far from Male and a domestic flight is needed.. becoz of which time is wasted..pls take 1 day extra becoz of this.. Other resorts can ferry you directly from airport but as a domestic flight is needed (20 mns) we need to wait at the airport (2 hrs). Once you reach resort.. its awesome exp.

Huge resort and very self sufficient in terms of food, activities, entertainment, relaxation, snorkeling, water sports, water villas, beach bungalows. Can be a complete holiday in it self in the entire island.

Awesome place for a secluded holiday, food is tasty, nature and water are awesome, the fauna is completely exotic. Don't take your children, here is romance and in general everything for two.

A very, very cool island.
The island is 1600 meters long and 400 meters wide. In fact, the island itself can be bypassed pretty quickly.

Third time here. Degrades the very meaning of secluded relaxation. You pay for the rest on the "desert island", and you get Turkey2. Intense ushlepki from different countries are buying vouchers to cheap bungalows inside the island and instead of the beach they put, felting families to bungalows near the water. At the same time, they manage to occupy sun beds, recorded for a certain bungalow. The administration ignores such conflicts. Personally, I decided that this is not a rest for me. I will look for other options for secluded relaxation.

I like the service and the service system at Sun Island. The staff are nice and friendly.

The island and the resort as well as the spa are fantastic! Service, cleanliness and friendliness are of first order.
Eating is excellent even if very Indian. Often there is the pasta for the more conservative Italians.
Every evening then you can go to the many paid dinners on the beach of great atmosphere and great cost. The south side of the island is more Maldivian, with small beaches it is very green that reaches the sea, while the north side is more Caribbean with large white beaches. The experience is truly unique and the peace that is taken away remains for a long time.

Nice clean and good ressort. The service are greet, nice crew.

We went to the resort to relax, mainly to enjoy the nice weather, snorkling and lying on the beach/pool. We were on an all-inclusive diet and considering we were staying for a week that is a must, because the place is not cheap and the all-inclusive deal is good. There are many guests, but I did not feel that it was overcrowded. Being more people also makes the main bar a more interesting place to go in the evening than a smaller place would have.

Hospitality , service , view , food everything was just fabulous. Not enough words to express my experience! Wish I could've stayed a bit longer.

This was hands down the best vacation experience I have had.

Not only the island is very beautiful with it's animals and flora but the facilities, activities, food selection and service quality were outstanding.

A magical place to discover. The island is big enough not to feel suffocated, the lagoon is just spectacular and scuba diving is an absolute dream there. (February 2020, seen Whale shark '2 times), manta rays, (2 times also) etc.

Brilliant resort. It is more for those travelling with family and children. Though honeymooners and couples will enjoy it too.

The beaches were prestine. I didn't bother too much with the different activities. Just enjoyed the beach with family!

I am surprised as to how this hotel got any good ratings at all. Pardon my directness, but most of these rating seeems to be from first time international visitors and honeymooners who seems to be wowed by the seanic beauty of Maldives. I agree with the scenic beauty part, but this experience can be enjoyed in other much more professionally run hotels. This hotel does not live upto expextation the price one shells to stay here. Food lacks any variety or taste. Staff is undertrained to be in hospitality business and are very rude. The biggest surprise to me was that i was told that toiletries (soap, etc) are provided once for the entire visit...Needless to say, never visiting again and do not recommend to any one else....There are a lot of other properties which are better managed and one should not fall for this internet and travel agent marketing gimmic. The hotel is promoted by agents because of the big commission cut they get on it...

The massage was amazing. They do a great job considering the massive size of the property and opportunities.

Maldives was my bucket list item , and this place made my dream come true ..

Rooms : we stayed in sunset villas initially. Spacious and nice ambience. Opening the backdoor directly in the white sand and blue waters had own magic touch ! We then shifted to water villa. Listening to waves and rains at night was indeed wonderful ! Additionally , you can just get in water when you want !

Food : Variety and taste suits all travellers.. be European, Indian / Asian.. be a family or a couple !

Snorkling : I did not spend on paid activities e.g. snorkling. There are enough snorkling points that allows you to enjoy with fishes of different shapes and sizes ! They have daily shark feeding and sting ray shows in the evening for people who like it !

Overall ambience : It's just beautiful ! Be it coffee shop, restaurants , internal roads, greenery , hammocks, .. It just takes you to different world !

Swimming pool and other sports : again 5/5

Staff : Extremely courteous and supportive ! All help is just a request away.

Nice and big, but also overcrowded. If you want to enjoy a bit more peace and quiet, you should look for something quieter and smaller.

SUN ISLAND RESORT AND SPA IS THE BEST IN MY OVERVIEW. WE STAY AT WATER BANGLOW (ROOM NO 376) AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE , BIG ROOM AS WELL AS BATHROOM AND BEAUTIFUL VIEW FROM ROOM SUN DECK ALSO ATTACHED WITH ROOM. ALL STAFF ARE FRIENDLY

This place is wonderful .... I have not seen similar beaches and sea. Even if it rains it is not a problem because the sun comes out immediately afterwards. I am staying in a water bungalow and sleeping with the sound of the waves under the bed and something unique. The cuisine is excellent, varied, of the highest quality and all with first choice ingredients. The staff is very kind and extremely helpful. The only drawback of the structure are the Chinese guests who are arrogant and boorish, especially the richer ones. Unfortunately, even the staff cannot manage to keep up with them. I would apply a bit of rigidity to this. For the rest I congratulate the structure and the staff.

Excellent value for money, suitable for honeymoon, couples and families

Everything was perfect: island size, scenery, staff members, food etc.

Visiting in mid August. Love the island's relaxed atmosphere, large beach bungalow directly 3 metres from the water, corals with plenty of marine life for snorkeling right at your doorstep. Food on the Full Board could be improved with a bit of salt and more accurate cooking, especially beef which is often tough, or overcooked, though large variety of choices makes sure there's always something ok to eat. Stick to local style cooked dishes and salads, is my advice. The resort groes their own hydroponic salad, chinese cabbage, bok choy; bananitas and coconuts). Tried the Fish Market restaurant and found it expensive and disappointing ($80 for 1 grilled squid, 1 overcooked dry grilled tuna steak, 1 grilled red snapper steak, 1 bottle water & 1 beer and with 20% discount applied, works out at about double what I'd calculated from menu prices _ $4x 100grams fish /$5 squid). Staff very kind, beach and gardens pristinely clean. I would not pay the extra price to be in the water bungalows. First photo is view from our bungalow #272. There's a 10 minute walk to reception /main restaurant but it's good excercise! Would definitely return and recommend both for couples or families.

Stunningly scenic locales. Good food. Water bungalows were just wow. Lots of fun activities. The deep sea shark snorkelling being the best of the lot.

Overall, the hotel is good. Of course, a little paint is missing on the walls and slight mold growth in the bathroom, but that would be whining on a high level. Some employees are grumpy and others are very nice.
The rooms are good but the TV program is very bad. The food tastes the same every day and not too much choice. But there is something for everyone. Nobody starves.
The island is a dream, the fish diversity is very little, unfortunately. To do this you have to go to the house reef. What I really have to complain about is that with all inclusive you first have to ask in every bar and restaurant whether it's all inclusive and the selection is very, very, very limited. There is also no possibility to have lunch in a beach bar. Get dressed every time and go to the main restaurant. Cramping into clothes with SPF 30 is not fun. The ways here are very long. We had Beach Bungalow 415 and it is almost at the back ... but goes further behind. 10 km per day are quickly due. Bikes can also be rented for 6 a day. You shouldn't be demanding because they are old nag and there is nothing except brakes. But they do their job.
Cushions on the patio chairs would be good. The cushions for the loungers are new and each room has its own loungers with room numbers.
As I said ..... all in all really good.

A beautiful place and a personal care, we left for the renewal of our marriage. A big thank you to Hafsaa for his smile, his listening and his professionalism, a thank you to Anis and all the staff of the "Main restaurant", a thank you to the agent who took care of our room, and all the rest of the room. team, who took care of us and made this trip magical. We still have stars full eyes.
I only put four stars after mimicry and the total absence of the person who was supposed to take care of us and who showed up when we arrived as our main contact in case of problems, Sameeh. Fortunately, our travel agent and the rest of the staff were there to solve our marriage date problem that Sameeh failed to record and went away (disappearing).

Beautiful place, every corner is clean and nice. Beaches are private enough, so you can feel relaxed. Good food in main restaurant/southern star, but there are also every day different offers in other restaurants to book.

Just fantastic, the water is amazing, the people are very friendly, the food is plentiful and there is something for every taste, I think it's all worth it, as there are plenty of drinks with meals and also in the afternoon at various bars on the island.

Sold for a 5 star but there is still progress to be made. Average food very limited. The site is clean as well as the rooms. French is spoken by only 1 or 2 people which can complicate the stay. Pay attention to taxes and surplus on the invoice. Very expensive excursions.

Our honeymoon was for 11 days at the end of January 2020. Full board.

We got a loveless fruit basket and a bottle of wine (great as a pregnant woman - the hotel knew that) - it was removed at the airport on the return journey (my husband didn't want to drink the whole bottle alone).
Otherwise no bed decorations as seen on the internet photos. As a birthday child you get more, even a nicely laid table in the restaurant).

Food was adequate for the quality of the hotel. Our waiter was great.

The room boy wasn't very thorough, but that's not so bad, it's just a different standard of 5 stars than in Europe or for example. Egypt.

The island itself is nice and big and you can discover a lot and it goes great.

However, it feels like a Mallorca on a higher level. Who does the long flight to little kids is a mystery to me.

In the bar, as an all inclusive guest (we were happy to have this package), you only get the cheapest cheers. When you checked a negative rating in the questionnaire on site, the waiter lam and asked. You couldn't pay until you improved it. We didn't get involved and after several attempts the bartender made a Cubra Libre that deserved its name. Another waitress the next day had the same cheap mix.

At the end of your stay you weren't even said goodbye. No thanks for your stay or how was it. Everything was already paid for. That ended the friendliness.

A true paradise on an island in Maldives. The hospitality of the hosts and the services offered are very good.

Nice place. Lot of activities like snorkeling, bike ride, canopy, and has Indoor sports as well.which is free for one hr daily. I mean indoor sport, not the water activities. Been there for 5 days all we did was to hit the beach and pool tht the resort has. Went for jacuzzi which again is free. I would recommend to take SUPERIOR BEACH BUNGALOW, u are 10 steps away from the beach. Ask for rooms 100 to 180 as they are close to beach and the food was awesome, lot of variety. Specially to cater the western world. I would recommend to take complete package that includes food, all 3 meals. Otherwise it will cost u more if u buy it separately over the counter. food buffet times ( Bf- 7 to 10am, lunch 12.30 to 2 pm, dinner 7.30 to 10pm). Take the photo package which costs us$ 175 for 20 snaps. It's worth it. I did not take the water Villa as it was too costly and I don't recommend it unless u r a celebrity. U can walk around and see how it looks. Any ways it's dark in the night n u won't be able to see anything. All u hear is the waves sound.

Let's start with the pro: the food is really very good and varied, everything is on offer. There is nothing to complain about !

The beach is also beautiful, although unfortunately you can see a lot of dead corals everywhere on the beach, which makes the first steps painful, also a sign that a lot is already dead here, no fish without corals. But back to the sea, the deeper you go in, the clearer it becomes .. it's really very beautiful.

The reef sharks can also be seen everywhere and are very peaceful. It is definitely very nice to be in the water with the mini sharks.

Service is really great here too, had a complaint and it was taken care of immediately. The rooms are cleaned twice a day or the towels are changed twice a day and drinks are provided (they give water bottles for free, all other drinks have to be paid for)

There are many ways to spend your day, be it time to do sports of any kind.

Cons: the rooms and bungalows are rather low budget, so a bit of luxury is not an option. Sure you are to enjoy the weather, etc. but I want to have a nice evening or in the room.

The sea, as I said, with its many dead corals is annoying, as you often hurt yourself. Some of them were cleared away in my time, but there are still too many.

In addition, it is sometimes annoying when you end up in a sales pitch at breakfast and they want to make the other restaurant tasty, that can sometimes be annoying. Maybe the doctorate should be designed differently. Talking about eating while eating when you're already full doesn't do much for me.

The mattress beds are very hard on the beach.

Food is priced on the higher side.. and the buffet spread for breakfast and dinner is sort if repetitive... Other than this... There is no concern about hospitality or maintenance or services of the resort.
