Leased my previous vehicle from this dealership.
Purchased the same vehicle off of lease for kid to use traveling back and forth to GVSU.
Kid totaled Jeep Grand Cherokee when he hit a deer on I-96 on 11/12.
So I decided to put him back in another Jeep, and why not use the same dealership, right?

Went online this afternoon and got pre-qual'd thru Chrysler Capital for new purchase.
Got a phone call & text message from Courtney, the Sales Assistant at the dealership.
Spent a good 20-30 minutes of my day today on the phone with Courtney ...
Explained the lease and purchase history, shared the accident story, even complained about the 'guy' in the back office that tries to pressure sell you into buying the extended wheel/tire warranty and 3 years of oil changes, and expressed that I wanted to work with a new salesperson, preferably a woman.
I expressed to Courtney, in a very matter-of-fact manner, that I had a very limited time schedule, wanted to take advantage of Black Friday deals, absolutely wanted bottom line pricing, with no haggling, and agreed to visit the dealership at 5:00 PM this evening to meet the new salesperson to (1) review the inventory to narrow the purchase options down, (2) complete as much paperwork as possible, and (3) arrange a time to visit the dealership on Friday with my kid, so he could walk in, pick out the Jeep Grand Cherokee of his choice, and drive it back to GVSU on Sunday.

I arrived at the dealership promptly at 5:00 PM, entered the dealership, and asked the receptionist for Courtney. The receptionist asked for my name, and after answering, I was told Courtney wasn't there, that she was just the Sales Assistant, and that my salesperson would be right over. She typed on her keyboard for a moment, picked up her phone, dialed a number, and I over heard tell the salesperson (Tim, my previous salesperson that I didn't want to work with) that his appointment was here.
I explained that I had a specific arrangement with Courtney, and didn't want to use my previous salesperson. Surprised, she apologized, asked if I "still wanted a different salesperson". I replied "yes, I ..." and before I could finish my statement, she looked over at the rather large salesperson to her right - who not only precisely fit the image you get in your mind when you think of "car salesman", I had just witnessed him slouching back in his chair, yawning - and asked "Jerry can you take care him"?
In Jerry's defense, he did jump right up, and walked over, but honestly at that point I had already decided I was done.

It may be a very simple statement, but "the little things matter most", and in today's global marketplace, the processes a company has in place, the competency of their employees, and their ability to pay attention to details can make or break a business transaction. In this case, Suburban Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Troy's failure in this regard cost them a $45K deal, a customer today, and a future customer as I'm sure my kid would have remembered the experience and returned to purchase his vehicles from the same dealership.

In summary, based on my experience this evening, I wasn't terribly shocked to see that this dealership is only rated 2.5 stars on Yelp. If I could i would give them a negative rating, but 1 star is the minimum rating for Yelp. Lesson learned, check the Yelp rating before you visit the dealership.
Simply put, don't learn your lesson the difficult way.
