Studio 28 is the first place I went to get help with a piercing issue I had when I moved to NYC and Saylor was able to help me out and was very friendly. I felt so comfortable that I decided to ask about tattoos and I saw Alex Alien tattoos and I thought they were awesome so I decided to get a tattoo from him. Alex Alien was so accommodating & friendly as well. I have had only positive experiences when I go there for a tattoo or piercing. Awesome place!!!

We had organised to get tattooed by Rafael on super short notice. Not only did he create a design we loved super fast, but he and everyone else were great at making us feel like they were excited to have us there. Rafael and TJ made us feel totally comfortable too and everyone was really friendly and fun. They managed all of this excellent service all while the whole team was mourning the loss of another artist.
Overall great people, fantastic aftercare advice and really good experience. Hoping to come back here someday.

I walked in to get my rook pierced on a Saturday and I couldn't be happier with my piercing or the service I received. Saylor made me feel so comfortable and had me laughing the whole time. He took his time to explain the process to me, giving me detail instructions on how to clean my piercing, and told me to reach out to him if I have any questions after I leave. I would recommend Studio 28 to anyone who wants a new piercing!

I got my nose pierced in 2015 and I just got a double helix a couple weeks ago. This place is pristine, everyone is so nice, I legitimately have no complaints. Just make sure you go after pay day cuz the jewelry is pretty high end.
A friend of mine recently had a beautiful tattoo done at Studio 28, and since I had been wanting some work done, I went over to check the place out on a Saturday. The place was very clean and the people there were friendly. I discussed what kind of tattoo I wanted and made an appointment for the following Friday to have it done.
Again, everyone was very nice and friendly when I returned. Alex did my tattoo, and when finished I hung around for about a half hour to chat. The tattoo came out amazing! I am so happy with it.
I am planning on going back soon to have a very old tattoo that I am not happy with covered over with a new design.
Saylor was a wonderful piercer and did a great job piercing my reconstructed post gauge ears. Highly highly recommended.
I have never been so impressed with a studio. I went to get pierced with Vicki. They happened to have just reopened, and the studio was so clean. Everyone there was so helpful and knew their stuff. Vicki was also very knowledgable and so respectful during the appointment, making sure I was happy and comfortable every step of the way.
This tattoo spot was just what I was looking for. The whole entire staff was extremely friendly and professional. The place is very well maintained and organized. My tattoo artist (RALPH ROSA) is beyond amazing with his art work. My search for a permanent tattoo artist is over!!! This artist and this place is the best. Can't wait to have many more sessions with Studio 28.
Saylor (body piercing artist) and the rest of the team were very patient and pleasant. They certainly make you feel comfortable there. Further, Saylor is quite a perfectionist and very accommodating... Went back for a progress report and he made some adjustments right away so that we both would be happier with the end result. I had my ear cartilage pierced here. Decent prices, good variety of different types of studs, labrets, gauges, industrials and what not. They aslo offer you aftercare items for sale and you can always come back for consult. TJ was very helpful, he provided me with the information that i needed about my piercing.
Sailor did my piercing and he made it quick and almost painless :)

Everyone at the shop is so kind and wonderful, I had such a great experience going in to get my septum pierced. It was my second time getting it done so I was very nervous that it would hurt more but Saylor was amazing and it barely hurt at all. They have a great selection of jewelry and everything was super sterile and chill and everyone is super educated and down to answer any and all questions. I can't recommend them highly enough, I'll be getting all my future piercings there.
I never write reviews, but I had such a fabulous experience with Vicki I wanted to leave her good feedback. I have had a lot of problems over the years with my ear-lobe piercings starting to close up and then bleeding after I don't wear earrings for a few days. I'd recently had enough, and thought I should talk to an expert. I was pretty nervous about walking into a tattoo parlor as a thirty-something mom who looks like the squarest person imaginable- I have zero tattoos and no other piercings. But everyone working at Studio 28 was super nice, and I immediately felt comfortable and like I was in good hands. Vicki in particular was incredibly kind and helpful- she was warm and patient, and she answered all of my questions. I also really appreciated that she didn't try to get me to spend more money or to do extra procedures- I know there are some places that would have tried to convince me to pierce my ears a second time. Anyway this was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend Studio 28!

The ladies here really know their stuff! Vicki Rose pierced my daith taking into account my ear anatomy and I'm super happy with it. Healing it has been very easy -- definitely buy the sterile solution they have available ($10) and follow all their aftercare directions.
When I went back 6 weeks later for a check-up they were very attentive and helpful. I had a lot of fun talking anatomy specific recommendations and future piercing plans with Kirsten.
The shop's owner, TJ, has also been very responsive over email as I custom ordered some jewelry.
Took a chance and walked in after googling tattoo shops in NYC - we were made so welcome on arrival - after explaining what we wanted the staff organised for the 3 of us to get tattooed - shop was immaculate, very modern and a great atmosphere - exceptional customer service - we all got tattooed by Ralph and are more than happy with the level of professionalism and courtesy he showed - after care was explained througholy - all in all an excellent experience - will return again ( about 3 years time as we all from England ) Big Shout out to Studio 28
I was blown away honestly. I was nervous going in, as I was not even decided between two different piercings. The counter help was just wonderful explaining the different types of jewelry available, and all of the jewelry is beautiful. I really enjoy seeing more than just the basic starter sterling stud or ring look and hate the healing process since you have to wait to switch it out, so they had some amazing starters. If you appreciate art in a piercing, this is really the place for you. Not only do they have an outstanding selection, but I'm pretty sure everything is handmade? Or possibly a good portion is? Regardless, Saylor was the sweetest person who put my troubles at ease, and guided me through piercing my conch. Saylor made it so quick and easy, bless those magic fingers. This place really puts quality and happiness above all else and I am excited to come back and get more! Also super clean and crisp. Everything sterile and just perfect all around.
I went in yesterday to get my rook and tragus pierced and the experience was great!! Kirsten explained everything to me and made me feel comfortable. I was in literally yesterday for a triple forward helix piercing. Before coming I had my questions pleasantly (and quickly!) responded to via email...& when I got there Saylor was so kind and helped put me at ease about it the piercing. Explained everything he was going to do, and worked with me to decide on placement. Very knowledgable. And the lady at the front desk held my hand and was very professional and sweet as well. Nice people but the post fot the earing was too short. After ten days I had to have it changed because of the irritation... I was travelling to Colorado and had to pay a second time for the work. quite expensive piercing at the end! Moreover in the place where I went the second time they told me that I should have had a longer post from the beginning.

I have 10 ear piercings, nose, and belly button piercing, but I have never experienced such an incredible piercing experience. I was pierced by Vicky. They asked for consent every single time before they touched me, which was extremely appreciated. I ve never felt so comfortable getting pierced. All staff members had advanced knowledge of piercings, jewelry, and after care. It was a wonderful and pleasant experience. 10/10 I would recommend to anyone who wants a clean and professional piercing experience. They had amazing covid procedures. I've had a few piercings done at Studio 28 and each time my experience is even better than the last! Vicki was my piercer today, and they are one of the most kind, caring, patient and professional people I've ever met. I'm so incredibly thankful that they not only helped me to figure out what piercings would look best on my ear based on my anatomy, but also didn't pressure me when I was so indecisive and took forever to make my choices. They explained every step and constantly checked in to make sure I was comfortable. I've been to a few different piercing places and none hold up to Studio 28 - it's worth the trip in from Long Island! The jewelry is high quality and the entire staff is amazing - I've been pierced by both Vicki & Kirsten and can't recommend them enough. I can't wait to come back in to add more piercings to the layouts Vicki helped me curate. This is the only place to go!! Huge thanks!
Amazing experience! I was in the area and decided that I wanted to get a nose piercing. So I walked in the studio, was greeted by very upbeat, kind, and excited people who made me feel extremely comfortable. Although it was more expensive than I originally expected, I had no problem with it because the outcome was amazing. I felt comfortable, felt the least amount of pain when the piercing was done, and a few days later, I now have an amazing nose piercing! Thank you guys, you rock! :D

DO NOT GET YOUR PIERCINGS DONE HERE. Both my friend and I had to go back multiple times to get them fixed, despite following the aftercare instructions exactly. Each time we went back to get them fixed, there was a general attitude of cluelessness -- "I have no idea why it's doing that!" Next time I'm getting someone entirely else to do it, because these people have absolutely no idea what they're doing.
Very professional, welcoming, clean and friendly environment wouldn't go anywhere else to get my piercings done. I always have a Pleasant time here and sailor is bomb!

I absolutely loved it here! I was kinda nervous walking in and unsure of what to expect since it was my first nostril piercing, but the people put me right at ease. First time tattoo, so I was kind of nervous... the entire staff was genuinely nice and helpful and Rafael was a great artist and kept me comfortable the entire time. They gave clear instructions about taking care of the tattoo afterwards and invite you to come back with any questions or concerns. Clean, quick (tattoo was small) and really just the best experience I could have asked for!

Went in to get my septum pierced on a whim. Extremely clean place. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable. The staff actually care about what they are doing to your body, they aren't just there to make money.

I waited about 30 min for Sailor to get back with jewelry from a show and he waived my installation fee for my wait time and actually cared about how the jewelry fit and how I liked the piercing instead of just making a sale. I traveled to NYC for business and wanted to get my first tattoo while there! I researched for months and then found Bo with Studio 28 on Instagram. Bo set up, eased my nerves, and did a great job. Clean shop, friendly people. I enjoyed being close to other people getting tattoos, made it feel more friendly. While my tattoo was simple, Bo did a great job with the lines and the detail. If I ever visit NYC again, I ll be swinging by Studio 28 for another!
Guys, these people are the best! I just got my second nose piercing there with Kirsten and I was so impressed and how kind and knowledgeable she was. The end result was exactly what I wanted. He did kind of work with me on the price. The tattoo itself took about 20 min or so. I was impressed by the his work...it's very clean lettering. I really like a "get down to business" type of artist & that's exactly what Tyler proved to be. Seeing pictures of the rest of his work, he does incredible color/shading as well.
This place is just great. Everyone is nice and helpful! I had Ralph as my artist and I m so glad I did because I m loving the artwork he gave me. The whole place looks, smells, and feels clean and sanitary (which is exactly what you want). I had clear and easy communications with TJ about scheduling, and Ralph was very responsive when I had questions about the design. Ralph really did an amazing job on my tattoo, and I couldn t be happier. If I decide to get more tattoos, this is where I ll be going.

I had such a great experience here! I had done a lot of research to where I wanted to get my tattoo because I wanted a very specific style that I could not find locally. They did not disappoint! I had Jason do my tattoo and he is an amazing artist! It came out exactly how I wanted. Everyone made me feel welcome and comfortable...like I had known them for years...which was very important to me as I was there by myself in nyc for the first time and very nervous. I already get numerous compliments on the tattoo whenever I go out even though it's in that yucky peeling healing stage right now.

Studio 28 Tattoo was fantastic. Everything was super clean and the process and any potential issues were well outlined in the waiver. Jason was great, and he managed to give me the tattoo of my dreams even though I hadn't conceptualized it fully when I arrived. The measures he took made the tattoo fast and easy and made healing a breeze. The staff was really polite and all had a great sense of humor. This was absolutely worth the trip and the cost. I was even offered a free touch-up if there were any problems with the healing process. Awesome place.

He set up an appointment with me quickly and was very responsive to any questions I had prior to my appointment. I went in yesterday and the experience exceeded my expectations by far. Found this tattoo shop on the internet and based on the reviews I thought I would inquire further. I EMAILED the shop and not more then a couple hours later I received a reply from Tom. Scheduling with him was seamless. He then gave me Rafael s email to coordinate my piece. Again seamless!!! Rafael EMAILED back in even less time to discuss my piece. This by far is the best way to communicate, cause it works!!!! Lol After a couple reschedules due to the COVID 19 pandemic I finally got my piece and couldn t be more ecstatic about it! It s better than I wanted . Rafael was more than professional and does astounding work. To tell the truth every artist in this shop does great work. Will definitely be going back soon !!!! Honestly can say that if there was more than 5 stars I would rate here the highest. The welcome feeling I had when I walked in was like no other places I've been to. The staff are friendly, energetic and passionate about their work which is always the best to hear. If you're looking for amazing customer service, skip this place guys. The staff here specializes in the gift of gab. They will tell you any and everything you want to hear when you're spending money, in order to get your money, but the moment there's an issue the real egoistic, condescending, patronizing side comes out. They are overly expensive for subpar work (sorry Saylor, not sorry). And please please please don't have any aftercare issues. They will treat you like a patient at a hospital and change you a $30 copay just to be seen. Lesson learned, I will never ever in my life come here nor recommend this place to anyone, and I won't even say how much I paid for something that I would have literally paid 1/2 the price for someplace else.
I have had my first (four) tattoos and first (four) piercings done at Studio 28. All my experiences here have been equally professional as they were enjoyable. The staff at Studio 28 is some without a doubt, some of the friendliest people you can meet. They are open to talk and discuss any inquiries or concerns you may have. When I thought one of my ear piercings may have been infected, Kirsten (I m hoping I didn t butcher their name, if so I am sorry!) listened to my onslaught of questions and quickly triage my ear. TL;DR no infection and just had to switch to a long back piece. Not to mention they put up with me nonstop talking/jitters just before my piercings tonight. Jason gave me my first tattoos over a year ago and I still love them to this day. I do have to say watch out for TJ. Give him long enough, and he will talk you into getting something done before leave the building; as I just had my nipples done tonight. J/K, TJ if you are reading this you are awesome and always offer valuable advice to my tattoo and piercing inquiries. I look forward to after my current piercings fully heal, so I can move to my next piece. Even if you aren t set on what you want done, stop by Studio 28 and know the staff is always open to discuss your options and concerns.

My Tattoo Artist Rafael Marte was amazing. I had an idea of a tattoo (that I had in mind for a while) and he was able to print a it on a paper stencil. He also resized the stencil it to match a reference image. After that, he cleaned up my arm to make sure it was sterile and placed the stencil on my arm and let me see if was in a proper position. I had been debating a nose stud for a while and never really had anyone to go to. Through a google search and reading many great reviews I decided on Studio 28. I started with a few emails with some of my questions and concerns and the response I received was quick and informative. This made me feel comfortable right away. The day I decided to go was not planned. I got a good feeling the moment I walked in. Everyone was nice and helpful. When it was time for the piercing I was very nervous. Saylor talked me through everything and it was over before I knew it. His instructions for after care were detailed and I am sooo happy that this was my choice. He even offered to put in a different one when my piercing is ready for it and if I choose to change what I have. I will be going to them for my next tattoos as well. I am extremely satisfied!
