Great live venue but like every other venue in Austin they have pricey beers.

The ribs were fall off the bone good. The sauce was great. The corn bread was super dry and I didn't like the jalapeno they added. Service was fast for how busy it was.
The only reason they deserved two stars is because of their location and name recognition. My wife and I ordered brisket which came out stringy, fatty, and was still flavorless . We showed them the poor looking brisket so they brought out a leaner cut which didn't have any smoke ring, no smoky barbecue flavor, and was very bland. The ribs were greasy and fatty too. The cornbread was dry, dense, and lacked flavor. All of this, for $102. If there is any saving grace, their sausage was good and we like their barbecue sauce. There are much better BBQ joints to go to in my opinion such as Rudys and Salt Lick.
Best BBQ in town hands down. Just moved here from out of state and been trying diffrent BBQ places until I found the right one.....THIS WON
Absolutely fabulous food! We had to wait a little while to get a table, which was a problem because we could see and smell all these really delicious plates going to other people and not to us. But we finally got seated, and the only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't talk them into shipping me a big bowl of their fried okra every week. Seriously, that was some excellent BBQ and I just wish it was closer so I could go there often.
We had lunch here. Being from out of town we were looking for some good BBQ and glad we found Stubb's. I have purchased this BBQ sauce at the grocery store and never thought I would actually find the place this all started. Anyway the food was good. We got the sampler dish so we could try everything.
We love stubbs at home so we tried the restaurant. The food was good the service not so much but still5 stars
The best barbecue in all of Austin this is 100% pure Austin style barbecue a place you absolutely have to go to if you ever visit Austin
If you don't want to wait in long lines for a really amazing barbecue, this is probably one of the best places to get barbecue quick.
Top bbq I've had in a while. Also, the spicy creamed spinach is to die for!
Best BBQ in Austin, Texas. They are doing good business, you just have to find the right door to get in.
All that I can say is that now I know why this place is famous. The meat was so tender and the vegetables were perfectly seasoned. Service was prompted and the atmosphere nice.
Love the food, not a fan of the atmosphere. Whish it was in a different location in Austin
The only thing that was good we're the pickles and onions they were excusit. Found hair in my food. Bad service.
Went to the Sunday Gospel Brunch. Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the brisket and the enchiladas. The bacon was yummy, too! The music was inspiring!
Food is good. Fries are great. 3 stars because the edge of my bread for my sandwich was hard.
Quick, friendly, service. Yummy food. Fair price. I'm stuffed. Yum!!
Waiter seemed to disappear after our food was delivered in. Not at all knowledgeable about gluten free options.." If it has wheat in it it isn't gluten free" an DC he didn't seem to realize the tree is wheat in cornbread... still, ordered a sample of meats. All VERY greasy...not well seasoned. Bottled sauce sitting on the table tast3d like ketchup A ND brown sugar..save you $20 and go to a food truck, or Ironworks.
Great food and customer service we will b back next year when we come back
Great atmosphere, good service, and just-the-way-you-like-it Texas BBQ! I wish there were a few more types of BBQ sauce, but other than that it's great.
Brunch at Stubb's is a bit of an Austin institution so of course, when we had visitors from Scotland, we made reservations. The brisket was just fabulous and although we couldn't get seats near the band, the music wafted up the stairs to provide a lovely backdrop to our conversation. The fruit was fresh and tasty and they have a wonderful Bloody Mary bar. I let them make mine and it was spicy and delicious. I'd highly recommend it, especially if you have visitors from out of town!
Some tasty BBQ! Portions could be a bit more generous, but other than that it was good
Amazing venue! Had the time of my life dancing in the rain!
Amazing ribs and sausage. I have to say the best ribs I've had. However the brisket was somewhat disappointing, it had good flavor but a little tough and dry. Potato salad was very nice, but collard greens and mashed potatoes were nothing special. Another let down was the price, it's too much for the amount you get. Definitely not a Texas size portion, the serving size was something a child or someone with a small stomach would get. Overall I would definitely come back to those ribs and give the brisket another chance.
Food was absolutely delicious but too pricey for the portions we received.
Great brunch and gospel music. They were generous with the brisket.
Stubbs rocks. One if the best places to see live music in Austin. Haven't actually eaten here yet but the Venue is so great. Don't miss out on seeing a show at the outdoor stage, it's too good!
If you are looking for some good BBQ or to see your favorite live band, check out Stubbs for sure! The ampitheater is small enough you can get close to the stage to really experience the show. They also have a great Gospel Brunch on Sundays but make sure you make a reservation a good week in advance because it sells out fast!
Stopped into this Austin classic for a bite of brisket and a cold pint.
Their ribs are marketed as "fall off the bone" but the ones I got were incredibly tough. The mashed sweet potato was good, but the onion rings I got as my second side tasted terrible. I was also thoroughly unimpressed with their BBQ sauce. It was runny and didn't have any real unique taste. My bf got the brisket, fried okra, and cheese spinach, and all of his food was pretty tasty. Our potato skins appetizer was pretty phenomenal too, but it's kinda hard to go wrong there. Our server was friendly, and since I only ate the sweet potato side and nibbled on one rib and an onion ring she pulled the meal off our receipt, which I did appreciate. The whole reason I go to BBQ places in Texas is for ribs, so I don't think I'll be back here.
Can't beat the ribs, but the chicken and brisket couldn't match up. Great libations and decent prices.
I was so excited to try this place. The reviews were great and the food sounded promising. My experience was not the greatest. They were busy, which was expected. They took my name and said it was a 30 minute way. So game back after 30 minutes and stood for an additional 25 minutes. Come to find out they missed our name twice on the list. The lady came and apologized and promised we would be the next ones. We were annoyed by that time. Then they call for Joe party of 2 so we said something and they once again forgot about us. Finally after being seated we ordered. We had Nicholas who was very kind, but wasn t fully giving the best service. I asked for a water twice, didn t get it. Then finally I got up and walked to him and asked for a water once again. He messed the bills up as well. So that was disappointing how the service was. The food wasn t that great either. I love ribs and pulled pork and it was not good.
There's no sixth star otherwise, BOOM! Major caveat...We went during SXSW fire the Rachel Ray's signature event with amazing free brisket breakfast tacos, Asian wings, and free Modelo Especial, all while being serenaded by the beastie boys mine D, and bigboy from outkast. And the greatest treat was discovering Yola who was Billboard magazine's favorite act at SXSW this year. way to go Stubbs !
Have no idea how the food is since I've only gone therw for concerts, but as a concert venue it's great. My only complaint is that I'd prefer to have a place to sit rather than stand the while time.
The brisket is legit. Everything I ate was delicious and there was a great selection of beers on tap
As a Venue: I've seen a ton of live shows here, and that place can fit more people that expected. The lighting is great, the sound is great as well.
As a Bar: Super good bar be cue downtown. Not a fancy place, but not a dive by any means.
The absolute best bbq in the area. Fantastic Steak and Meals. Super staff and speedy Service no matter how much Crowded this place gets. I'll surely Recommend this place to all my friends.
My boyfriend and I came by because we were downtown and I was craving barbecue, Stubb's was a great choice! We spilt the Stubb's Major with ribs, sausage, and chopped beef. For our sides he got collard greens and I got the mashed sweet potatoes. Everything we had was delicious! And it all went perfectly with their signature barbecue sauce.
Great place to catch a show, seen some great acts here. Only place where you can catch some live music, and eat some great BBQ at the same time.
Band was good. Drinks were ok. Everything tasted like very weak drinks.
Great service. Even better bbq. Delicious! We would highly recommend.
IM IN LOVE. I just went here for the first time on Wednesday to see Bush. It was absolutely amazing. The wait to get in was not long at all, the wait to get a beer was not long at all, and did I mention it was Bush? So yeah, it was good times!
The food here is absolutely horrible. The mac and cheese is just shells with Velveeta cheese no seasonings, peach cobbler is VERY gummy and grainy from crystallized sugar, the bbq sauce is mediocre at best. Please save your money! Absolute disappointment!
Great lil outdoor music theater and of course Stubbs.
Was there for an anniversary and the stadd was awesome. Food was good and not too expensive. Not to mention the set up they have for local bands and the back where they have headliners play.
Great BBQ, the small shop is definitely a place worth visiting
Fun live music, sides were great and people were nice. Turkey and chopped beef were really tender! Brisket was a bit fatty but great flavor
Sunday brunch gospel was the best way to start your morning great music great food
Four colleagues and I stopped for lunch one day. I had the brisket sandwich with potato salad and mac-n-cheese. The brisket and mac was delicious. If you're going to split checks, make sure to let your server know when placing the order -- she was kind enough to do it for us because it was slow -- but she sure let us know it was an inconvenience to her. Stubb's is also known for it's outdoor music venue -- anything from local bands to huge traveling acts.
Really good food, had 10 co-workers and all were fed at the same time. Wish there was more than one table BBQ sauce type.
Prices listed online are false, expect to pay twenty dollars per person
Great place. Amazing location, great servers, great food, great serving time and just overall great restaurant to go to. Definitely recommend if you re looking for a classic bbq place and are in DT Austin.
I wish the portion sizes were a little bigger, otherwise the vibe is good.
Plan on extra time around lunch. The downtown crowd loves this place.
Not the best bbq in the city, but nice when there is music.
Amazing bbq.
Belly full of meat makes me complete.
This restaurant/bar has a really cool rustic feel, and the food is great! Stubbs BBQ is a favorite at home so I was excited to try it from the source. I recommend the Brisket, Collards and Fried Okra.
It's a bit overpriced. It's a little too sweet. But, damnit, it's an institution. If you spend any time in Austin, you're morally obligated to go to Stubb's, even if it's only so that you can complain about it to the natives later on.
