Great bbq place right in downtown. Kinda big but the atmosphere seems small with good service. Been buying the sauce for years so good to finally visit the actual place!

Lunch was way better than I expected. Quality stuff!
This is my favorite out doors music venue in Austin. It also has great small shows inside. I have seen so many great performances here. The sound system is fantastic. The theater has a slop so you can see the stage if you move towards the back back. The venue is efficient in crowd control. If you want your own space then don't come here. There is no assigned seats/ standing only. If you love people and good music then you have to experience Stubb's!
People come here for the music over the food. There is much better BBQ in Austin
Came for lunch and had a brisket sandwich that was good. Service was pretty average, they got a few sides wrong in our group but did correct it when we let them know.
Mac & cheese and fried green tomatoes were just ok, I did like the serrano cheese spinach side.
Quick service, polite and professional waitstaff, all parts of the meal were tasty - what's not to love?
Came here for a work dinner. Way too loud. Service was not very good kept forgetting my drinks
The bbq was awful. Had the famous brisket which was dry and Luke warm. Had the famous onion rings which looked like the batter had freezer burn.
Had better bbq T the Austin airport at salt lick.
I was hoping this place would be as good as the reviews but not even close which means something doesn't add up with those positive reviews
Stay away and save your money
This is a great place. Food and service was outstanding. Parking is free on Sundays.
The food is not good but the music is excellent so it's a wash.
Great place for lunch. The drinks are huge, the sides are hearty as well! And the barbecue delicious. Recommend the barbecue sandwiches on Texas toast bread which comes with two sides for a great price
Stubbs looks like it is getting great reviews. We thought it was just ok. Honestly, just not a good smoke flavor to the meats. Disappointing. Maybe an off night. Wouldn't go back. Waiter friendly, got seated immediately.
I did not like the idea that there is no longer an all you can eat menu.
I've been impressed more by other BBQ Joints in the area
Came for lunch and had the two leads platter with pork ribs and brisket, with fried okra and Mac and cheese. It came with two large ribs, which were excellent, nice spicy rub and cooked well. The brisket was good and a generous portion. The fried okra was cooked well and a nice portion as well. Would definitely return if I'm in the area again!
Terrible BBQ. They probably care more about the music aspect of their venue then the actual food. Drinks were meh. Never eating there again or suggesting anyone to eat there either
Fun venue for at Saturday night. The prices are pretty fair too!
The outdoor concert area and BBQ was amazing! This is the best music venue I ve been to in Austin! The prices weren t crazy expensive. I paid 30 for the music and 12 for a brisket sandwich with two sides! The best thing about this place was the intimate outdoor stage! I ll be back again and again!
Much better as a music venue now than a place to eat.
Went on a Sunday for Gospel Brunch. The Spiritualettes were solid, great voices and a lot of energy. The Stubb's is cosy and has a pretty local vibe but the food was not really good for 30+ usd per person.
Stubbs is an awesome venue and their food is pretty darn good as well. The serrano spinach is amazing btw.
First time I saw a show inside. Small room, great sound.
Very good value--an $18 plate can be split between two people, and it's good BBQ. However, I do feel the ribs were a little too fatty--perhaps that's normal but just something to note. On another aspect the music can be somewhat obnoxious, moreover, the lighting dim, and AC can make it a tad cold. Worth the visit, however, if for a date consider the environment, and what you like.
Best damn BBQ in Austin.
Bring your appetite.
a great place to see a show, more personable than larger venues. Great food, good service. Park a few blocks away save some cash and enjoy the nightlife in Austin.
I went there on a tinder date and got stood up. Lolz. I still love Stubb's, though.
Awesome BBQ and great venue for a small concert with good vibes
Food portion was substantial for the price ...and the meat was phenomenal - tender, melt in the mouth and juicy. I felt the sides were a real let down though. The coleslaw tested bland and a bit spoilt. The fries were hard and cold. I wish the sides had been as memorable and tasty as the meat...instead they took away from the experience.
Shoutout to the Friendly, quick and courteous staff.
Reviewing the venue, not the food, the staff there are very helpful and kind. I picked VIP tickets to attend a show because of my disability (large crowds in GA is unsafe for me) and they were very accommodating. Enjoyed the show so much more because of this. Thank you, woman on the viewing platform that helped me out :]
Great BBQ and service, nicely stocked bar, live music
Brisket, fantastic, greens great, sausage, pretty good, chopped beef ok, spare ribs, I can't tell you how over smoked and dry these things were since I still can't swallow.
We go here for concerts quite often, and it is one of my favorite places to see a show. The BBQ is pretty darn good as well.
Atmosphere is great. You can get better BBQ elsewhere, though.
The food was OK, but the venue is great. Depending upon the show, kids will have ample room to run around while you can relax.
Unique place to see a show so that makes it worth it. Not the best sound though.
Great barbeque the meat like butter. The sauce so delicious. You have to bring your own straw they do not provided with drinks due to they are very eco friendly . I love that I hope all restaurants can be like Stubb's. A must go place on Austin.
As a concert venue: there are few places better.
But the food is worthless. And every single person who works there is rude. The people on the doors are rude. The servers are rude. The bartenders are rude - AND make lousy drinks.
This is such a poorly-run place.
The restaurant is usually pretty crowded, but also good. I only wish the portions were larger or the menu items were cheaper. The live music out back is a staple of Austin. Really cool looking setup back there. I would suggest trying to be as close to the stage as possible if you're interested in the band. It's not the loudest venue, and others around you do tend to talk over the performers. It can be quite annoying.
A group of us wanted to sit at their bar and have dinner and drinks, but we were told we could not because a band would be playing in area later, so took our business elsewhere.
Food was pretty good, but the place was incredible!
Great Music venue. Unimpressive BBQ. Get your food on 6th street.
Went for the Gospel Brunch. Food was only mediocre but the singing was great and saved the whole experience. Seems like it would be an awesome venue for night time shows as well.
Great Concert!! Great food and atmosphere! Drinks outside from stalls expensive!
They have great bands play there but unless you're standing up front everywhere else is pretty awful because it is a narrow & deep venue with very uneven ground and poor air flow. It is in dire need of an update. It's really easy to lose your footing when walking through a crowd.
Food was good, service was so so. No straws, no substitutions.
Home of the Stubbs BBQ, excellent food that matched the quality of their sauce !
I was looking for a genuine Texas barbecue. What I got was...disappointing. I've had better beef brisket at a San Diego deli!
The show outside and the music inside are different. That bothers me. The food and the staff are excelent.
Super fast service, delicious food! Try the ribs and sweet potato!
Great live music on Cinco de Mayo! Best margaritas of the day. Only had to wait 20 minutes for a table (Sunday). The line looked hours long on Friday night. Food was good and our server was very friendly.
Great Venue for a concert. Loved the show. Worth the experiance.
Brisket is awesome. Mezcal margherita compliments the smokey bbq perfectly. I wish we could've seen some live music here!
Kinda dull. Wouldn't serve us. We went to the Erwin center for a concert. Got in early, walked down to this place. Would not recommend for a quick bite or just drinks. The service at the door was awkward, we felt out of place for just asking for the wait time or seating at the bar. Didn't ever get a server to come to our table, ended up walking out after 20 mins off waiting.
Came here for a Glen Hansard concert, so this review is for the convert venue, not the restaurant. The location is a bit sketch, and it would have really sucked if the rain was harder than a light drizzle as we didn't have raincoats. Otherwise, the venue was great. Not too small but still felt intimate, and the sound was excellent. Glen Hansard was a legend as usual. And Josh Radnor of "How I Met Your Mother" fame showed up to sing a couple of verses, so that was cool.
Ok brisket, service was pretty okay. The ribs are only so-so which was kind of disappointing as they were recommended by the staff. Staff themselves seemed more interested in chatting with each other than the guests.
This is my only five-star rating of any BBQ place in Austin! If you are visiting Austin, Stubbs is the place to go. the sauce has so many flavors, sweet, hot, and thick! Get the Ribs, Pulled Pork, or even the chopped beef (which is my favorite)
Great atmosphere for live music
Its a quaint little place. Our visit was on a night they had live entertainment. The band played music that I don't normally listen to but it was good. Service was good. Not many tables to sit at that night because they put them up for more like a bar type scene.
Yummy BBQ meats. Would have been 5 stars if they had some better side options.
I Love going to concerts there! Excellent venue. Very nice staff.
First time visitor to Austin. Was looking for authentic Texas BBQ, Stubbs delivered. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Recognizing that we were out of town, they were very helpful describing some of the local beers and drinks. The brisket was perfectly smoked, and the ribs were fall off the bone good. The indoor concert space is awesome, great place to watch a show. Wish we were around to see a show outside, the space looked great.
Sunday evenings around 7pm are quiet here. The food is delicious. Waiter friendly and helpful. Due to COVID-19 closures and restrictions they currently have a limited menu but hopefully they will be back to a full menu soon.
The food here is amazing. It's a pretty neat concert venue, as well. I had the ribs and the brisket, and the meat was so tender.
