Manager is extremely rude! My ceasar salad was brown with some mold. The manager let me know there was nothing wrong with the salad and that he was not going to refund me.

**update**

* I disputed the charge and received a refund from my bank FYI. Just know if you have a problem with the food or service they won't take care of you.

Everything was bland. Service was not great, the server was nice but he seemed very tired. The Spanish bean soup was salty and very watered down. Also we tried sitting outside to enjoy the nice weather but the cigar smoke from other guests was all we could taste. Now I know I never have to go there again.

My supervisor decided to order us some lunch on a chilly day in Florida and figured that soup would be the best option. I was interested in the Mama's Chicken Soup but strayed to the Pho because I love me some pho. We ordered this through Amazon and it arrive 1.5 hours later. Kinda crazy but thankfully we ordered at 10:30am so we weren't starving so it worked out there.

I must say, their rendition of "pho" is "different" and not in a good way either. There was no five spice broth, just a tomatoey broth with mushrooms and broken up noodles. I couldn't get any noodles onto my fork, chopsticks or spoon. They were so broken up that I gave up. They also put the noodles and spices in the soup before they deliver it to you so maybe that's where the choppy noodles happened but it was not anything you could call pho.

I like that they have a variety of food on their menu but I think that also takes a lot of the quality away. I say stick to a restricted menu and make them quality. I will definitely not be having the pho anytime soon. I may try other items as they sounded and looked tasty but the pho here was definitely a miss.

I will update my review when I am able to try other things. As for now, it stands where it is.

Got the burrito bowl and they dumped a can of black beans with all the juice at the bottom of the bowl. After messing up the order. They had the nerve to charge me for the tea. Never going back again for canned food.

I ordered the chicken noodle soup. After waiting 20 minutes, they came back with something that looked awesome! Then, I ate the soup. I think the best comparison is that it tasted like dishwater. I was disappointed in my experience with such a basic soup being done incorrectly. On the other hand they have decent empanadas and the service was pretty good, even when busy.

Place was good. We arrived during I guess their rush hour. We sat down and ordered out food and drinks in one go as we were short on time.

About 25 minutes go by and no sign of waitress with food or even drinks. We decided to leave as we had to catch a show at the Orpheum our friend was on stage.

Afterwards we came back and we were served in a much more timely manner.

Good food and excellent drinks. Helpful staff.

Just be wary during busy hours because at least tonight they diddnt have a proper handle on the rush. Which it's okay, most people probably aren't as generous and patient as we were though....

A unique and different locally owned hole in the wall soup, salad and sandwich shop in the heart of Ybor City. From a version of Pho to a Spanish chickpea and sausage soup the dishes are original and delicious. For every bowl of soup you buy a donation of soup to charity is made. Lots of different beers to chose from in bottles and can nothing on tap. Wine list is limited. Moving to a new location soon hopefully for the better.

Friendly bartender and good food. They have a fun, "spooky", eclectic atmosphere. They also have a program set up where they make sure very little goes to waste, and donate food to homeless shelters <3

This is probably my new favorite spot for food in Ybor. They are above average in options for vegans and vegetarians. The only downside is when I left, I think their ventilation system is weak which contributes to a lingering smell of bread on your clothes/hair when you leave this spot.

Went here for the second time today.

Went here for the second time today.

The first time I tried The Stone Soup Company I called in an order of the Vegan Pho. They ran out of noodles and didn t tell me until after they sent someone out to go buy more noodles. I waited close to an hour inside the restaurant for my food after calling it in 10 minutes before I arrived. I figured it might have been an anomaly so I tried them again this afternoon.

I arrived with a party of four. Meal was okay. Ordered the veggie Cuban sandwich with fries and Cole slaw. Fries were the best part. Service was initially mediocre. Lengthy delay between drinks and getting to order and stared at my Bloody Mary on the bar for a few minutes. Figured the wait was because they were busier than usual for a stream of FSU bar crawlers getting ready for the upcoming college football season. When we were done with our meal we informed our waiter that we wanted separate checks. Our checks sat with our cards for a few minutes waiting to be picked up. Another employee had to pick them up presumably because ours was too busy.

We waited thirty minutes for our checks.

When the cards were swiped, our waiter got them confused and swiped the wrong ones for each bill.

We exchanged glances with the other employees as they watched us wait as our waiter tried to correct this issue. We waited to be approached by a manager. That didn t happen, so I approached our waiter and informed him that at this point we had waited so long that I expected to be credited for the meal.

I was told that they were working on it and were speaking with the manager over the phone who runs the system from home. Great.

A few minutes later we were approached by a man whom I later learned was the owner. I informed him that I expected to be credited for the meal. He told us he would credit us and walked away.

A few minutes later we were approached by our waiter with our checks. Nothing was credited.

I walked back to the waiter and asked why I had been charged for the meal. I was then accused of just wanting a free meal. I requested a manager.

I was met again by the owner. I asked why he said he was going to credit our money back for the meal and he instead had our waiter charge us in full after now waiting 40 minutes after our meal had ended to get our cards back.

He accused me of wanting a free meal.

I signed my bill in full and left no tip.

I have no idea how this place has four stars. Even my experience aside the food is mediocre. How the owner of this establishment manages to keep a customer base is besides me. Poorest customer service I ve experienced in Tampa and very disappointing.

P.S. Don t sit in the booth closest to the door. There s a leak that drops water to the table. I watched them seat a family of four with two small children there before the family had to request to move. Have the decency to close that booth.

If it wasn t for the server and host I would give one star. The vegan options were flavorless. As a long time vegan I know not to give too high of hopes but I was really looking forward to this spot. The wait for my food was over an hour and the chef that brought out our food was rude when we realized the food that was ordered wasn t correct. Our apps were forgotten and were brought out with the food, cold and salty. I was going to give them a second chance because the server was so kind but I checked out more reviews and seen the owner is totally rude to paying customers that have an opinion. During a pandemic, you should be grateful anyone comes to your spot, figure it out.

Service was great but I didnt like the chicken soup at all, it was cold, bland and what you get for $5 was not worth it to me. I doubt I'll be going back here. Gave them a try because of the positive reviews can't say I had the same experience. 2 stars because of the great service

Disappointing. Most of the food was good, the service was just awful.only 2 tables and barely saw Casey, had to wait forever for the kids mac n cheese because the server forgot ,we got it after we had payed the check and ended up getting it togo.It just seemed like the server could care less and when the manager did stop by he didnt seem to care anymore than she did.Just an overall let down.
Update to your reply which I'm not surprised is rude. The lobster was bland never said the mac n cheese was the problem,oh right you cut me off when I was speaking so you wouldnt of heard.Being as this is not the only poor service and management review you have I'm positive it wasnt me.Miserable lol not at all I paid the bill and left, drive crazy, yes I can see how wanting our daughters food must have been annoying, also we didnt reorder anything the server forgot to bring all the food.poor management really can ruin a restaurant, good luck.

Always great service, everything I've ever had on the menu is above and beyond delicious, great local beer selection, and they have taken appropriate pandemic precautions since it began. And you can pay it forward for $5 and pre-purchase a Stone Soup for the local homeless. I love my local hangout!

The first impression was the bathroom and it was filthy The food was ok. My friend had a loaded potato soup that was cold on the bottom. I had Borsht that wasn t Borsht. All it was was a spicy vegetable soup. Our waitress was friendly. To be honest, the only reason I m giving this a 3-star rating was because of our waitress.

I was hoping for an excellent culinary experience ...

I was hoping for an excellent culinary experience when coming here. The server did well, it was the food that eas very lackluster. I ordered the "no beets" borscht which was basically a watery broth, about 5 pieces of potato and a glob on sour cream. I know this soup can be "just liquid", but generally it's heartier, not this watery and no real "filler".
I also ordered the roasted chicken tenders which was supposed to be a "breadless" version of chicken tenders and air baked. This was not what I expected at all - basically just a chicken breast that was cut up into 3/16" strips and brought out to me. So let me get this straight. I just paid someone to cut a chicken breast for me?!?!
My husband ordered the kabob entree with linguini and was very disappointed. The chicken kabobs where shaped more what I would anticipate for the "roasted chicken tenders". Anyway, they were seasoned very poorly, had no flavor. I guess the poing was you're supposed to use the dip provided so you don't notice how bland the kabobs are. The linguini that came with it was just that -pasta. No flavoring, sauce or anything added. Just pasta. Really?
We also ordered some potstickers which were ok and nice & crispy.
I would suggest the chefs actually try some of the food they're sending out and see if it's something they would look forward to eating. Personally, I don't anticipate coming here again. I LOVE soup and was really hoping to love this place, but left feeling less than satisfied.

Been going here for three years. Just ordered a pound of wings. Well not really wings and a pound seemed more like a chopped up chicken breast. 1/2 pound was to be rolled in one sauce, while the other 1/2 rolled in another. All of the chopped chicken came together rolled in as little sauce as possible. Hummus didn't come with pita. No silverware as this was a delivery. I usually order loaded baked potato soup which is normally good. But very inconsistent. After three years I am done. No more. Do not recommend delivery and only a couple options on the menu.

Unprofessional all the way around and mediocre food. They will rave about award winning food but the service has gone down hill. Mind you , I have visited this restaurant multiple times when they were down by tequilas in Ybor City. I m just a lost for words filled with disappointment. I will feature this on my blog.

Soup is excellent but service is AWFUL! Once while sitting outside, I gave up on getting my check and left $10 under the ($6) soup bowl. I was literally chased down by the manager! He forced me to walk back to the table with him, where he found the money. Didn't even apologize for accusing me of stealing.

Stone soup has the warm feels of origin of folk stories behind stone soup I know about from growing up as a kid. Staff changes as it's close to the college but their heart stays the same, friendly welcoming kind and reminiscent of old school customer service. In an age where everything is instant speed it refreshing to enjoy the taste and simplistic style of "stone soup" while not having to be a slave to time. Then the secret that will make you know you found a slice of heaven the dessert called flan.

Me and my friend went here fit the first time last night. It was around 8 and when we walked in we weren't greeted. And it wasn't busy so I was confused as to why there wasn't a hostess. Anyways 3 mins standing and we sat ourselves after cleaning off the table. So 5 minutes after, 3 people pass by us who looked like they worked there but no one cared to speak with us. After waiting an extra 15 mins while other tables were served, we decided to leave. Anyone of color who was thinking of going, I'd suggest anything but this in Ybor. Guess we were too black for them to serve. Won't be back and will be sure no one I know does the same.

There are few places that make you feel good as a human being for simply eating. Stone Soup is one.

On their menu they describe how they donate for for each and every day to homeless shelters in the Tampa Bay area.

The food is great, service is awesome, full bar with a great selection of locally brewed beers...but they give back to those in need. A few more stars need to be given.

Excellent service, eclectic decorum, and food that relies on its flavor more than its innovation, The Stone Soup Company is a great place to dine at any time of the day. The soups are simple and tasty. The sandwiches and appetizers are great to share. This place does offer drinks, unlike other similar diner-like places like it. The staff is friendly and happy to serve. Upon entering, booths line either side and at the back a kitchen. The walls are riddled with old, pop-style art. Small personal-sized tv's accommodate each booth.

Suggestion from the menu:
Bacon Cheese Loaded Potato Soup, Beef or Chicken Empanadas, The "Real" Cuban, Desert Empanada (Guava).

The cuban is the best I've had. Had one at crannies down the street from it, and it was good, 30 minutes later had one here and it was amazing. Service was better, faster, overall better experience and a great sandwich
