Awesome food and fast, super friendly staff.

Awesome food and fast, super friendly staff.
The cuban is fantastic, as well as the midnight.
Interior was pleasant and not overly bright.
Will try to come back again next time in Tampa!

First the good: Excellent service I was warmly greeted at the front and the staff were all welcoming and inviting. The interior decor was awesome and the layout was well thought out and well implemented.

Now the bad: This was my first visit as I work on the same block so I thought I would give it a try. I checked out the menu online and saw that their Chili was voted "Best in Tampa Bay". My order was taken quickly and the Chili arrived soon after. This was a to-go order so I walked back to my office excited to try the "best" Chili in Tampa Bay. They should change the name to the Stone Cold Company because I don't know about you but I prefer my chili to be heated and this was the exact opposite. It actually seemed like this had been taken out of a walk-in and the dropped into the bowl. The flavor was mediocre at best which I feel would have been enhanced ten fold, had this been heated in any way prior to serving it. Another added bonus was the small bits of bone or some other hard material that I encountered while attempting to at least eat some of the Chili. The flavor overall was bland and lacked any richness you would expect in a home made Chili I did enjoy the addition of the pulled pork in the Chili which was a nice twist on the traditional recipe.

I always give a place 2 chances to impress me so I will be going back to try something else to see if this was just a one-off mistake or if this is a quality issue with their menu.

This was certainly not remotely close to "The Best Chili in Tampa Bay" and that statement should be removed from their menu.

Edit: To the owner response...I guess you missed the part where I said I work a BLOCK away from the building..not 10 miles...which is what it would have taken to get a Chili to this temp. It's not my job to make sure your product is at temp when served to be able to walk a block. The fact that you make the statement that you have the "Best Chili in the World" is laughable. As I stated in my review I will give your place another chance..but you might want to unswell your head a bit with this "Best Chili In The World Nonsense". Not even close...i've had better Chili out of a can than what I had with your place and until you prove otherwise I stand by my review.

Went there today out on a limb. Heard about it at work and some of my co-workers were telling me how amazing it was. So I decided to stop by with a friend of mine and it was Cinco de Mayo and they had two-for-one margaritas. They were great. The waitress was very friendly and we had no issues here. There are sandwiches I will say our very good we had the Deb and I also had a burrito bowl and both were fantastic. I also hear that their bowl of chili was great

I stopped in recent for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the Cuban sandwich which was excellent. This place makes an Authentic Cuban sandwich the way it is intended to be made. I also had the lobster bisque which was perfect. The atmosphere is laid back. The place is decorated with what looks like art from local artists. There is also a kratom and kava bar located on the second floor which I did not check out but plan on doing so in the near future; it seems to be hidden behind a bookcase that opens up. I will definitely be back to check out what else this place has to offer!

Cafe con leche was luke warm at best. Tomatoe soup was luke warm.
I asked for lettuce and tomatoes on my Cuban sandwich and the server never heard of such a thing like that and said that their Cubans are authentic and they don't do that. For being voted best Cuban sandwich in tampa it was average.

Food is delicious. Service however leaves a very sour taste in your mouth. Some servers look like they are miserable, the others are friendly but do not come often to the table to ask if we need anything. Looks like place is ran by newbie waiters/servers and a few good cooks. Also, food takes a long time and you only get the usual apology about the long wait . It was 3pm on a Sunday, place was empty, again do not come here if you are hungry and expect great service for the price. This is a one hit wonder for me.

Usually a decent place. Took the wife and ordered the lobster bisque soup they were peddling and talk about disgusting! Seems they had pre-laddled the soup into bowls either the day before, or who knows how long. It was served somewhat cold and had a hard crusty film on top of it as in something that had sat around forever. Even a novice first time cook, or server for that matter, could see it was NOT right. Disgusting!

I didnt have a chance to actually experience the inside of the restaurant cause i was picking up food to go; so all i have to go on is the food which was subpar at best. The flatbread veggie was the worst "pizza" ive ever had when it come to texture and flavor. The chicken soup was very watery and had No Chicken in it. And my fries were soggy and cold. Not really what i was expecting.

I ordered a few other there soups, they okay. But you would have to eat three soups to fill up, that's 18 dollars. I mean, it's not on Market in SF. I appreciate that it's in Ybor and they are made from scratch, etc, but that was a lot for those soups. But it was pretty good, especially the M Ball Soup. But not a soup place, if that is what you are looking for. More a lunch place with a cool name that sounds like it's a soup place.

Wonderful food and wonderful service. A very chill atmosphere. The staff is fantastic. The food was amazing as well. Their Cuban is to die for, and their Deb is excellent as well. Definitely check out their Loaded Bacon Potato Soup if that's your thing.

Wow, really disappointing for someone traveling and wanting to spend their money locally. Greeted with several empty tables and were not offered a place to sit or have our name taken to reserve a seat but told 20 minute wait. Asked to go ahead and be seated and look at menus and were treated as if it were an inconvenience. I felt as though they would have preferred that we just go somewhere else to eat. The food was overall good however soup should be served hot. I would suggest additional staff because service was ok but very very slow.

The atmosphere is amazing. My shrimp poboy was great, but unfortunately for me, they added bacon onto my side of fries. Dont eat pork, so to someone else, it would be great. My sons chicken empanada was dry and hollow and the chicken noodle soup I got for my mom tasted like it was diabetic broth. The hosts were friendly and gave warm vibes, but I would not go back for the food.

One meal was delish. A vegetarian Cuban sandwich. My partner's chili came cold and we had to have the manager come talk to him. She was kind enough to bring him a bowl of their broccoli cheese soup herself. Service was slow and was blamed on an unusually busy afternoon. Several signature soups were sold out. All in all worth a try, but not a fave (yet).

Extremely bad experience here today. We had reservations at 4:30 for nine people. Upon arrival at the restaurant we were told that they they had no such reservation. However after a1/2 hour wait we did manage to get seated. Next came the drink order simple enough but it took the waitress 15 minutes to come back with our order. Then it took her 1/2 hour to come back for our food order. Then we waited another 45 minutes for our food to arrive and only 7 of nine orders was delivered. Two of our party had to wait an additional 15 minutes for their food to arrive. We were never asked if we wanted drink refills. The food was only marginal at best. The Philly/cheese sandwich I ordered was on stale dried out bread with overcooked beef steakems or something supposedly resembling steak, and Oh. The auju you were to dip the steak sandwich in was so peppery it was unusable. If all this wasn't bad enough, they had the audacity to add a 20% tip to our checks with a line to add an additional tip. For the life of me I find it hard to believe that this establishment has had the number of positive reviews it has posted on their website. Diners beware. If you want good food and service. I would look elsewhere.

Since I was attending a show at The Orpheum I decided to pop in here to see what it was all about. I'm very glad I did as the atmosphere was very unique with art on the walls, a bookshelf bar, and delicious food. I was immediately seated after walking in by a wonderful server named Jennifer I believe. She was very nice and made sure I was very well taken care of! I ordered the gluten free pizza flatbread with three cheese blend, pepperoni, and basil and boy it did not disappoint! It was one of the most cheesy and flavorful pizza flatbreads I have ever eaten. If I ever go to another show at The Orpheum or surrounding area I would definitely eat here again! Thanks for the awesome service and mouth watering food!

I went there today with my kids and we loved it! The service was great and the owner personally took care of us. I was looking for a place that served a great sandwich and soup, had a great ambiance, great customer service and clean. I read some reviews on the restaurant and decided it to try it myself. The Stone Soup qualified and exceeded my expectations. I had the Real Cuban which was a "real" Cuban. It had all the classic ingredients that a real Cuban has. The fries were baked and everything tasted so fresh. Offered us Sprite in a glass bottle (nice change) and for desert we had the Red Neck Toast with Nutella and marshmallows drizzled with strawberry sauce and truffles. The toast was very tasty. Overall a great experience. A nice gem in Ybor that's family friendly. It would be nice if more businesses in Ybor were like this one.

Food is awesome. Not sure why the waitress always seems to treat me like crap even though I've brought 4 different groups of people there. Bizarre beyond bizarre. You know who you are. Screw you. The food is too good not to go though.

First place we visisted off the back of a 16 hour travel day from europe and it did not disspointed.

Restuarant was American Laid back diner style, friendly vibe while pumping some rock classics. Our server was great and helpful with suggestions for my jetlagged mind. Had the famous "cuban sandwiche" with a side of trouffle mac n cheese, and the meal did not disspoint. Delicious.

Best Cuban sandwich we've ever had. The mac n cheese side dish was spectacular. Ordered the French onion soup as well and that was out of this world. Next time, my wife and I will split the Cuban instead of getting our own. But, Good news, there is leftovers.

Had a great meal st Stone Soup last night. Felt very safe, tables are well spaced apart, server in mask and polite, all utensils brought ina disposable pouch. Food is yummy. We each had the French onion soup. This is always out of this world and I had been craving this soup and literally dreaming about having it for days. It did not disappoint. My hubby felt the same about his. I also enjoyed their potstickers. They are nice and spicy and so many in the serving that I had to take some home and am enjoying them for lunch as I write this review. Do not hesitate to go here. Lots of food choices, tons of gf, vegan as well and you feel cared for.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! The manager or owner is unprofessional and should be fired. Charged my card for almost $400 without my authorization. Would give no stars. Threatened to call the cops and for me to get a lawyer for a charge of a ridiculous amount and again, without my authorization. I will be contacting their corporate office as well. Besides him, the food is decent.

The service was sub par. We got our non alcoholic drinks pretty fast however one of our friends ordered an alcoholic beverage to which she never received. Two of us ordered food with fries -mine had no salt at all, and the others fries were over salted. My boyfriend ordered a breakfast bowl that was supposed to have hash browns in it - and they were just french fries. Then it took them forever to get out checks.
If you have time to kill then sure it's an okay place

It wasn't very busy and we barely saw our server. My wife asked for a straw and never received it. I had to go to the take out counter to get our check and a to go box. And this was probably the worst restroom I've ever seen in a restaurant. The toilet had dried fecal matter and dried urine all over it.

The only reason this isn't 1 star is because the food was good. The gyro meat is excellent on the Caesar salad. We also go something called the Ex-Wife pasta (subbed in the rice noodles) that was very tasty. At this point, might order takeout from there. Not sure I'd want to ever eat there again.

Hungry? Try The Stone Soup Company! Adorable location loaded with Ybor charm...fresh food, really nice staff and you can thank me later. Tip: try the Tomato soup (ask for extra Cuban bread for dunking and the staff will gladly oblige), fresh cut fries (like my Grandma would make) and the Cuban are 3 of my picks!

Hubs and I were wanting an authentic Cuban sandwich since this was our last day in town before heading home to Memphis. We were headed to another restaurant, but they were closed. Luckily, we walked by this place and spotted a couple menus outside...and the had it on the menu!! The atmosphere was cool and welcoming!! We had the Cuban with fries. So so good!!! Bread was awesome, and SO MUCH MEAT on this sandwich. We also tried the Ybor Gold, a local craft beer, recommended by our waitress. ( I cannot recall her name, but she was very polite. ) The brew was very good. They have a good list of cocktails as well. To wrap up I had the flan and my hubs had and apple empanada ala mode. Both were very good, but his was served in a basket with paper, which tore each time he spooned a bite. Maybe in a bowl or glass dish next time. All in all, we would definitely recommend and would return if we re ever in Ybor City again!!!

Tried the Stone Soup Company in Ybor City and we enjoyed the soup and sandwich but it wasn't exactly what we were anticipating. The French Onion soup was good but lacked the soup. We worked our way thru a huge piece of cheesey texas toast to find lots of onions and less than half the lousious goodness of juice you normally find. My Fish broth soup was also tastey but a bit bland. They offered an ounce of fresh and hot sause to spice it up and a 2nd ounce of hoisen sauce to sweeten it up which helped. Having returned from Dubai 2 days earlier and just having had a late night hotel made Fish broth soup as well, I can say the earlier had the depth and sublties that made all the difference. Our Cuban sandwich was good but seemed to lack the size or meet filled incredibleness that made it the Best of the Bay's winner. The other soups & sandwiches looked great so we're optomistic we will find some great items two back for, over and over. We will back, very soon.
