Absolutely beautiful. Make sure to stand on the right side of the boat to get good pictures. I was on the left side and it was hard to get a good picture but I managed and had a great time. Don t be afraid to get off and walk around the islands. You can always catch the next ferry back to New Jersey or New York.

The tour is nice. Be prepared to walk, learn, and take pictures. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring some cash just in case the debit card machine is down on the ferry for snacks, etc.

A unique site seeing spot.

When I came across how it presented hope for all immigrants when arrive first time to this land, it makes you see it with a different eye.

In general, it's very well maintained and a nice place, must visit when around.

I love the statue, the gift shop is amazing and so is the staff especially the people who work security and the information desk. The only downside is that they close off the statue at 5pm so you can not actually go inside of it after 5 o o clock in the afternoon, otherwise and amazing experience!

Lovely historic place!!! Ferry ride was awesome!! We went in early morning hours... Ferry ride was very pleasant in the morning hours... If you are planning to visit, plan early... you cannot roam during noon in summer... you may need sunscreen etc during the day time.. there is big gift shop, even in ferry... Lovely snacks in ferry.. overall we enjoyed the trip.. don t forget to collect the audio guide!! It was crowded all the time!! Be ready to stand in queue for a minimum 30 minutes, while going to the island and while coming back..

One of the most iconic places in the world. As soon as you get off the freeway and make your way to the ferry, catching glimpses of her through the trees, it's hard not to get excited.

As a sign of the times, you are required to go through security before you get on the boat, similar to an airport. Once you get on the ferry, it's a leisurely 10 minute ride to Ellis Island. We opted to stay in the ferry and waited for them to take us to Liberty Island.

When you arrive, the docks are crowded, but make your way to the outer walkway to catch your breath. It's impossible not to take your phone out to snap some photos.

All around you will be people from all races and backgrounds. Put aside any reservations or qualms you may have and enjoy the sense of togetherness and freedom that the Statue represents.

We went on a day that had almost no lines (only had to cue to get on the ferry, and the elevator for the pedestal as we had pedestrian passes). Awesome view from it and from the fort.
The museum was alright, not the most interesting one.
Would recommend to visit at least once!

It was awesome being able to see what my ancestors went through to become an American. An Inspirational feeling running through the halls. The Statue of Liberty is smaller than expected but still holds a gravity I don't have the language to convey. Definitely a location to visit at least once.
Food was really good even for the high price. I didn't feel cheated. Everyone working there was pleasant and easy to talk to. Will definitely go back

Recently renovated. Excellent exhibits, even for someone who knows nothing about it. A model for how a monument should be: from the theatre, to the scale models, park and restaurant. Can't recommend enough.

A unforgettable visit to this historic monument.

A unforgettable visit to this historic monument.
Yes, it's expensive and yes, you have to wait at the line. But it's worth.
If you don't get tickets to the crown take the pedestal ticket.
In my opinion is more spectacular than the crown.
A "have to" if you are visiting New York City.

Haven't come to see her. It's time for her to rock the red dress candy paint with roses and the ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. . We can't be together we have a really big height difference the kisses will be rare.

Must see and do if you have a WHOLE DAY in NYC. If you want to go up in the crown or inside you need to plan early and buy you passes 6 MONTHS in advance!!

The ferry ride is a lot of fun. I suggest you get on the right hand rail on top for the best photos.

Definitely go inside the museum and head left for the video show. Fun and informative!
With swooping images of the lady herself and interesting history about her construction. It s worth every bit of the 12 minutes.

The concession food is actually pretty good and not too crazy expensive. The gift shop leave a lot to be desired, but it has an air conditioned cafe.

On the second part of the trip get on the left side of the ship for pictures of ELLIS ISLAND.

If you felt that a bit tired after part 1. There is a very air conditioned theater with a 1/2 hour show. It s great for a cooling nap!

Take your time at Ellis Island. There is an immigrant gate to the Freedom self guided tour which is included. Totally worth it!

If you go to NY, the visit to this historical monument it s a must.
The whole experience starts with the ferry. You can enjoy the view and see how this icon starts to get close to you. The magnificence will blow your mind!
I had the chance to walk around and feel the energy and good vibes in here.
The Statue of Liberty will be an icon of freedom no matter what.

That was an experience to remember. One of the most iconic monuments in the world didn't disappoint. Great view from the park around the statue and food view of Manhattan from the pedestal. The ferry was exactly on time and quite a frequent service was offered.

When we first set off the statue was in the distance but as you draw nearer you capture the full majesty of this incredible landmark and symbol of hope and freedom. It does take your breath away and is a must do.
No hesitation in recommending the Statue of Liberty.

A mandatory visit if you are in New York. The island includes a museum (included in the price of the tour) where they expose the history of statue. The tour has a auto audio guide in various languages, request it in the entrance of island (is free). The complete tour includes this island, ellis island and the entry to the museums for 18usd.

Not as exciting as we thought it might be. Food on the island is expensive and very ordinary quality - I highly recommend you BYO food. There is a busy gift shop with some neat gifts. If the weather's hot, take a rest on the grass under the trees or venture into the nicely cooled museum to see the original torch of the statue. Tickets to climb the statue are best bought in advance - they had sold out on the day we went. Queue to buy tickets for the ferry on weekends can be 45 minutes or more, plus another 30 minute queue to get through security & board the ferry!

Awesome experience all the way around! The ferry was spacioys, which surprised me considering the long line of people ahead of me to board. Ellis Island was a nice, informative stop. I had a ticket to the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty which was quite a walk, but the views were amazing and well worth it.

Far more impressive up close. And if you want the best view, take the boat to Ellis Island. They sail you past the statue, and you can see it welcoming you just as it welcomed millions of immigrants. Give me your tired, your poor indeed.

One of the coolest monuments to see live. We did the guided tour which covered the Statue of Liberty. It was well worth it. There are lots of things to do around New York City but doing the guided tour is well worth it. The service was excellent and our host was the best and very funny.

Loved it! Stairs to the crown were harder than I expected but worth it, more to say you've been to the top that anything else. All staff were kind, friendly and helpful and I'd love to go back one day!

Can't miss this even if your family didn't come into this Harbor when they immigrated to America. So nice if you can go on a tour of the statue. Don't skip the gift shop they have so many interesting things. Even the cafeteria is fun to eat at.

Very historic. There are three available tours; the pedestal tour is extra but you can tour the grounds (audio tour included) and the museum. The line took forever to get through, though. Close to 2 1/2 hours. I have been to Pearl Harbor, the Mighty Mo, Space Needle, Yosemite and Mount Rushmore and never had to wait this long (Mount Rushmore was 4th of July, too.) And the airport style security is pretty crazy, so careful what you bring!

One of the best iconic structure and you will feel it while visiting this place. There is a great history why the color of the statue got changed. There are 2 options either take a ferry tour and see it from the ferry and waterfront, the other one is to go there and buy additional ticket. I seriously prefer the first option as these monuments always looks good from far.

This was my first visit to the Statue of liberty and that too during winter. I visited via a ferry from NYC and got some last minute tickets. It started snowing right after I reached and I wasn't able to get a good view but then the experience was amazing. Its truly large and magnificent. I'd suggest anyone visiting the place leave early during summers though I've heard it's usually crowded.

One of the star attractions of the world.
Every tourist who arrives in New York is guaranteed to go here atleast once.
You'll see a long line of tourists always taking selfies and photographs.
Beware of surroundings and stay with your family as a lot of people are there.
Enjoy the visit by spending atleast half the day .

We took the full tour of Lady Liberty, going all the way up to the crown. What a great experience. The park rangers were fantastic, even took a family picture for us up at the top. The security lines into the statue were in the shade so that really helped with the heat. However, the ferry line was outside so bring something to keep you shaded like an umbrella if it's hot and sunny. I'd highly recommend purchasing reserve tickets ahead of time using the website, it shortened our wait for the ferry ride to the island substantially.

Lucky that we had an amazing sunny day (9/15/19) lots of walking & those steps do get you tiered all the way up the crown (buy crown tickets months before if you decide to take that walk & very narrow steps, if your tall it would be a bit more tiresome having to duck down) also make sure to have Quarters for the lockers if your walking the crown they don t allow bags taken up to the crown) (Gift shop has a ATM if need be ($2.50 ATM Fee)

A recent trip to the SOL was made even better by a trip up to the crown. A beautiful place and view that everyone should experience at least once. Excellent facilities and staff. If you re able to climb the stairs the spectacular view at the top is worth every step. A true slice of American history.

Visit at least once. Our first time to get off the ferry and visit the Statue of Liberty. What an awe-inspiring experience. You will be impressed if you only walk around the statue and don t visit the museum. Takes about 30 minutes to do that.

Wow! What an amazing place. A really great view of Manhattan and all the bridge from here. You really get a 360 view! And you don't understand and value the size of lady liberty until you are up so close and personal. There's a museum inside as well which shows loads of different parts of lady liberty and holds precious pieces that have been updates and teaches you so much. If you go during the week then it isn't actually too busy so you can get a good seat on the ferry and wander about the Island at your own pace. There are plenty of shops on the Island too to buy souvenirs and a small cafe as well.

The first time we got to see this famous statue was in 1986 when we happened to live in Flushing New York. A friend of ours took us there by car and we were simply thrilled to see this beautiful statue and enjoyed the ferry ride and climbed upto the crown. Our next trip was in May 2009 when we were visiting New York. We took the Long Island expressway and alighted at Penn Station. The ques were huge and it took us quite some time to get the tickets for the ferry ride. Standing in the que was not boring as there was much to watch-men on stilts, beggars a plenty men playing on different musical instruments, vendors selling liberty statues and crowns of varied sizes. A man playing the harmonium played 'Insy winsy spider 'on seeing a 4 year old , someone played'Jana gana mana ' on seeing us . Then there was the frisking and security check-ups.
Then we got onto the top deck and enjoyed the ride. The 'Lady in Green' looked magnificent and to me she seemed to wearing a green saree and upholding the torch. We could not manage to get tickets to the crown so we looked around and then took a ferry to see Immigrant Museum. We once got to see Liberty when we travelled from Chicago to Newark and the pilot lowered the plane and told us to look at the 'Lady in green'.The statue is actually Liberta the Roman goddess of liberty. She holds over her head on her right hand a torch and there is a tabula insata on her left hand with July 4th 1776 written in Roman numerals.A broken shackle and chain lie at her feet and she seems to welcome the immigrants coming to the USA. Felt good to be at the iconic spot.

The ferry provides tons of good photo opportunities as does Liberty Island itself. The gift shop isn't as overpriced as other tourist attractions. Don't plan on going onto the pedestal or crown unless you get tickets a few months in advance. Set aside about two hours if you're just visiting the statue. If you want to tour Ellis Island too add another hour. A ticket to see both islands sets you back $18.50 and includes audio tours on both islands.

I was delighted to see this beautiful statue. You could see a beautiful skyline of New York City. It s the Statue of Liberty, what else can I say about it. You will love the statue of America. Thank you for reading and have a great day

An awesome historical place.. Was amazed to see the Ellis island..the way how in the old days itself methods were developed to judge persons mental behavior.. Had been to pedestal.. On a bright sunny day for sure there will be a lot of crowd and hence lot of wait time for the lift..

Amazing tour! We took the boat ride from Battery Park that took us to Liberty Island where the statue is located. There was a museum, food shops, a cafe, and grass area for picnics by the water. The boat makes another stop to Ellis Island as well. I suggest visiting both Islands to get a good bang for your buck.
If you would like to get something to eat on Liberty Island, there is a food stand that sells burgers, pizzas, wraps (including falafel wraps for vegetarians). They also have 2 flavors of fruit smoothies to chose from. If you like greasy foods like chicken tenders, fries, hot dogs, etc., you can stop by the cafe/gift shop. There is an outdoor sitting area for you to enjoy your food as well. Bathrooms are available throughout the island.
