The food is everything you'd expect, and they had some of the best desserts I've tasted in an Asian restaurant. The thing that blew my mind though was the service, probably the best I've ever had. I went to the rest room to wash my hands, and in the 2 minutes I'd gone, they had refolded my napkin and placed it on my chair for me. None of my table even noticed them do it.

I've been to places like the Waterside Inn by the roux brothers in Bray, UK. Their service was "excellent" but also very visible. In Buddakan our server was both invisible yet constantly working around us, never noticed unless she was there to crack a joke which genuinely added to our conversation. I cannot overstate how good she was.

Very poor service... We had to wait more than half an hour before they even noticed that we were sitting at a table... no matter how long did it take to take our order... and I was so distracted by that, so I don't remember the taste and the quality of the food.... Shame!!!!!

Very popular trendy restaurant that lives up to the hype. The beginning experience is always a bit off putting when the host directs you to the crowded bar area to wait for your table. However, I ve discovered new rooms each time I ve been and had a great experience with the waiters. Food is great - General tso and foie gras dim sum both delicious. I d recommend staying away from the edamame dim sum even though they say it s one of the most popular dishes. Short rib was phenomenal, fell off the bone. Also had the Lo mein, lobster fried rice and the chicken which were all great. We finished up with 4 desserts (all the pictures I took) and I would highly recommend the mochi donuts. Never had anything like it!

The decor of the restaurant is definitely one of a kind. Chandeliers are custom dragon design, many species of rare birds can be found as decor, there is a room of Buddha statue faces. It s one of a kind restaurant. We will be back once everything is up and running and indoor dinning resumes. The food was good and I feel like once eating inside, it will be five stars.

Absolutely delicious food, never once had a bad experience here. Highly recommend all their dumplings, the rock shrimp, the eggplant and the spicy tofu. Their drinks are also very good. The only issue with this place is that they often double book so you end up waiting anywhere between 30-60 mins for a table, even if you made a reservation. Barring that, it s a great spot, delicious food and good service, so would highly recommend especially for group dinners!

Our visit was stellar. The space is a bit daunting, but the incredible cocktails and food settle you in nicely. The soft shell crab and the pork were my personal favorites, along with the "Solid" cocktail. Great dessert and after-dinner drink choices as well.

Great black cod and chilled udon noodles, but more like a club than a restaurant, meant we didn't enjoy our meal as much as we could. Shame as this used to be my favourite restaurant in New York.

Its rediclously dark in here, a bit too dark. So dark I cant see myself in the mirror of the bathroom. All the food was really good and it's a good place to eat with your adult family. Not a good place for children at all.

I had a great time there. We sat outside even it was a little chilly. We got our private booth. The Edamame dumplings were exceptional! It was surprisingly good, smooth, and just a hint of truffle to lift it up. The other ox tail dumplings were good too. The main dishes were average, not better than the cheaper Chinese restaurants. Chowfan was too oily for me. And weird thing that rice does not come with the black pepper beef. Overall, my experience was good.

Made reservation thru Open table 3 weeks in advanced of me and my partner s anniversary . Unfortunately, Buddakan said they DONT HAVE my booking in their system even I show them our comfirmation #!!!! So we were have to wait for the table as walk in! Second, I did request to sit at downstairs in the open table booking at the beginning and also mentioned to the hostess when we get there even as a walk in customer, thats mean we dont mind to be wait, yet, they are just ignored what you requested, we have to sit at the aisle, eveb though they have A LOT of other tables.

And so funny is! Open table sent me an email on next day regarding we never attended the reservation!!!!! Serisouly? You made a reservation doesn t mean you really have the reservation! I do not is the issues was caused by Open Table or Buddakan, but Buddakan never apologizes or willing to fulfill customer requests.

By the way, their BACKGROUND music was so LOUD!!! You cant even talk, unless we have to SCREAM , otherwise you could t hear anything beside the music, their waiter can t even hear what we what to order. Properly this is THEIR WAY to make customer eat fast and leave, wuick turning tables over. This is not worth $$$$ restaurant, food were ok, environment is nice unless you sit at downstair, otherwise there s no different that you dinning in TGI.

Sxcellent food!

Sxcellent food!
Ambience ways too loud, ways to freezing, staff not really knowledgable in terms of service.
Modern cuisine - overpriced!

This is the Sex and the City geek in me, but who cares! I sat in the area where Miranda had her outburst before the wedding...and it was awesome!!

Great wine list, but even still I opted for the Longevity cocktail. I went with my daughter, and indulged in the Lobster fried rice. To die for!!! Thank you Buddakan, I was fully satiated in every way possible.

Buddakan is excellent for groups and/or a place to go when you want to impress your dining companions. The standout items for me were the edamame dumplings and the broken chili chicken. Cocktails were yummy but not strong.

This is an amazing Asian fusion restaurant in the meatpacking district. The interior of this space is amazing, and you will spend most of your time just staring with your mouth open. Then the food comes and its equally amazing. The food here isn't cheap but it certainly is worth it. This is a great place to entertain friends, and really experience fine NYC dining at its best.

The food here is divine- sophisticated in flavor, textures, and presentation. Professional staff who don't hover over you. For deserts, I recommend the bread pudding; not usually my first choice but this was amazing. It was served with whipped cream spiked with whisky, and caramelized bits of something (I can't recall what exactly, possibly pecans)... it all melted in my mouth!

Omg the food was phenomenal. Honestly I enjoyed every dish I tried that day. Particularly the lamb and lobster fried rice. Honestly a great location and ambience is lovely. Was a bit loud but its NYC so what to expect.

Great meal and friendly staff. Very cool space and booking is essential.

The edamame dish is a must, as is alot of the menu. Just go and know you will find something to enjoy.

The wine menu is also rather good.

Honestly I am so disappointed with my experience here. It was my first time here and me and my friend were so hyped to check it out and enjoy the food but my oh my the experience was TERRIBLE!! We waited over 30 mins when we had a reservation and then got seated and placed an order which was then put on hold, and the menu itself isn t clear and our waiter, Ryan was awful. He did not care to explain the menu nor give us different suggestions. A complete disaster. We were forgotten about multiple times and our waiter lied about the situation every time. Also, steer clear of the edamame dumplings... Save your money and go some place that actually values your business.

Expensive for what's it is. I ordered Jade shrimp dumplings (4 in a dim sum steamer), scallion pancakes, and Singaporean chili crab. All of them were good but nothing special. The shrimp dumplings ($16) were just a bit better than the ones you can get at a high end dim sum place for 1/3 the price. The scallion pancakes were not crispy but rather dense, the beef topping was good but again for $18 it was ridiculously priced. I did enjoy the crab ($39) but having had it in Singapore this is a bit of a pale imitation lacking the brightness and flavor balance of the original. Ignoring the price the service was good and the food probably a 7 on a 10 scale. Adding in the price though it was not worth it.

The atmosphere is amazing and luxurious. It is definitely an impressive place to bring a date to. The dim sun and other apps are pretty good, so as the desserts, but the mains are kind of a let down... Its more of a chinese inspired western cuisine. The Ma La chicken despite its name is neither numb nor spicy, but sweet and sour... The service is superb though.

Delicious food at seemingly pricey yet actually reasonable prices in hind sight. The food used quality ingredients and was cooked very well. The downsides are that it was about 45 mins AFTER our reservation time before we were able to get a seat but it was worth the wait because the placement was perfect for the Chinese New year lion dance performance. The table service was also poor in some ways like very infrequent visits from staff which made it hard to order and since we had a bottle of sake being chilled was also difficult to get continuous alcohol service. The decor is awesome and it felt a bit more like a club than a restaurant at times. Despite the issues giving it a 5 because everything else was pretty good and it might have been affected by overcrowding on this holiday.

One of the Best Restaurants HANDS DOWN!!
Not only is the decor & setting incredible, the food is delicious! So, if you want to impress out of town guests, have a memorable date night, or just see where Carrie & Big had their rehearsal dinner, this is it.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
