A very busy place, especially on weekends, but also a must see of Seattle. The menu does not contain many non caffeinated drinks, and so isn't very suitable for younger fellows. The pastries and pizzas were very delicious. Overall, a nice place to go for lunch.
It's ok, it's a pretty interior - but has that very generic :industrial coffee shop good for Instagram' feel about it. Having said that, literally every staff member I spoke to or interacted with we're awesome. Funny, friendly, and very attentive. My review would have been 3 stars were it not for the absolute star staff. It was also cool to watch the mesmerizing coffee roaster.
Very nice place, the atmosphere is really nice. Coffee and service are great! A awesome alternative to standard Starbucks.
No gluten free options for food or desserts! Wasn't like that the last time I was here. Very limited brewed coffee selections as well. Otherwise a nice place to visit and view, and the food looks tasty.
Great atmosphere, nice ambience, trendy crowd. The only thing missing was good coffee!!
Its a more upscale Starbucks. Its interesting in style and the baked goods are much better.
It's an extremely touristy and expensive place to visit, but I knew that going in, so that's not what bothered me. The hostess was very nice, but the man giving coffee samples struck me as pretty rude and snooty. My friend and I stood in line to try a sample, and when it was our turn, he spoke ONLY to her, handing her a sample of 2 different coffees and then moving on to the people behind us. He completely ignored me and the possibility that I might also want to try a sample. I wasn't just keeping my friend company in line! Or, were we supposed to share? Because that seems odd to me, to expect 2 people to share a sample sip. So I stepped back in line, which was more of a semi circle around him at this point, and he proceeded to ignore me until I said "Excuse me, I'd like to try a sample too if you don't mind." He turned, looked me up and down, then handed me a coffee sample, as if I were the rude one. :(
Great coffee attraction. Even greater prices, wow mama, it hurts. Now darkened by boarded up windows it's a mausoleum. 8/5/20
It's cool to watch the roasting process. The whole place is pretty cool architecturally and functionally interesting. The coffee "float" is yummy too.
#seattle #pnw #starbucks
Roastery is a great place to spend time with out of town guests! Their system of servers vs ordering at the bar needs some organization though...
There are great types of coffee, but there's so many people it's hard to get seats.
Spend about an hour at the starbucks reserve enjoing a couple of coffees with my wife. I must say jonathan and michael were super cool and educated us while brewing some coffees. These are the type of employees who keep customers like myself returning time and time again. I believe every company needs to have this caliber of customer service to maintain a healthy relationship with its customers. Thank you starbucks, jonathan and michael for the awesome experience
We don't drink coffee or tea and Starbucks seems expensive; nevertheless, this is still a 'must-see' in Seattle even if you lock-up your wallet and just walk around (and the food here is also commonly described as 'amazingly delicious').
This place is amazing! Super packed on a Sunday, but totally worth going to, especially if you have visitors from out of town or something. It has a bigger selection of drinks and food than a regular Starbucks as well as tons of Starbucks stuff to buy. The building itself is just amazing, and having all the machinery out in the open for people to see is great. When I was there, two of the (roasters?) talked to me about the whole roasting process. Oh, and the bathrooms are nice too! Each stall is its own private room. Great experience.
A bit confusing for first time visitors. Cool expo and trained employees can explain the process in detail. Amazing customer service.
This was a really great experience to see the coffee being roasted. They have so much cool and cute items in the store, and I really nice bar that had different coffee items.
This place is a must have experience. Plan to spend lots of time here. It's always busy. My first time was super overwhelming, but after my 3rd visit I got it figured out. They have chocolate and coffee pairings, coffee drinks with alcohol, delicious food and desserts and so much more. If you're a coffee enthusiast this is a must. The whiskey flight was so delightful. Be prepared to wait in lines, bit you can't rush perfection. This upscale experience is more $ than a typical Starbucks, but worth every penny. Parking can be challenging.
Great coffee place to go to. Expect to pay more than the usual not cheap at all. But worth the experience.
It is better than 1 store. Where the huge roasting machine is impressive. I didn't buy it because I wasn't interested in Tumblr.
The reserve is unlike any other generic Starbucks shop. It has a great aroma of freshly roasted beans, there's a nice selection of pastries and sandwiches and special roast mixes.
One of the best pour-over cups I had. Paradeisi Blend (2018) is plain awesome!
Great place and awesome coffee obviously. Loved it!
If you like coffee you will enjoy this place. It is a big and nice place to experience different coffee. Or to just sit and chill with friends
Loved it. It was just perfect place to hangout on New year's Eve with two kids. Super delicious Tiramisu and pistachio coffee
This is the pinnacle of cafes. The attention to detail put into the food, drink & presentation is top notch. You do pay more for a drink here, so it's not something you'd do every day if you're frugal, but it's a great way to spend a rainy Seattle morning.
It was really good the people were really nice and they weren't rude at all they even did more than they were supposed too and gave me a discount I really suggest this Starbucks!
You need to come here and see the roasting area and learn from the staff.
This is not your standard Starbucks at all. I came here and got a flight of high end coffee that was fantastic. Very unique atmosphere too.
The Wonka Factory of coffee. Copper pipes everywhere, roasted coffee flying all over the place, one-way glass in the bathroom so you can watch the production line while you wash your hands. Get to try Starbucks newest stuff as they're trying it out, or get a cup of the freshest coffee you've ever had.
WOW!!! Totally an amazing place especially for a true coffee drinker. I was in heaven especially with the tall giant golden bronze doors as the entrance into this beautiful place.
Very cool. Totally worth experiencing at least once.
It's like Disneyland for coffee mixed with Dr Seuss architecture. It's fun.
You can just come in, see some of the machines used to make coffee, and taste some coffee beans for free.
If you like coffee, this is your place. They have a wide variety of coffees and you can even do a small tasting of several. In addition, they sell coffee, cups, T-shirts of the brand, etc. The attention received is very good.
I think it is a tourist trap. Same old tasteless coffee just a bit better. But yes I fall into the trap too. Didn't try the jointed food station.
Definitely a great place to go. The atmosphere is amazing and the workers are very knowledgeable. I love the ambiance and the drinks I ordered was delicious. I've also learned a lot about coffee thanks to the baristas.
I frequently visit the Reserve with my wife on our date nights. Although Starbucks is not considered hip by local coffee snobs, we find the atmosphere to be inspiring and the coffee is superior to most cafes in town. We have experienced great customer service until this past weekend. When we asked for a simple modification to our order, the barista was resistant, lectured us about the 'finest coffee beans in the world', and expressed an unwillingness to accommodate us. Our request has been met every time prior to this, and was not extravagant or special. The baristas were down right rude and exuded the typical 'too cool for school' hipster vibe. This is a tangent, but Seattle has some of the worst customer service in the country. I understand that the barista was working on New Year's Eve, and that sucks, but the attitude was unnecessary. Tino, the manager, was very gracious, and stepped in to make the situation right. He was very professional and explained his desire to see the Reserve attract more locals and regulars. I learned a valuable lesson from Tino on how to handle customers properly. In fact, the whole experience offered an opportunity to examine my own attitudes towards customers in my line of work. I was hoping for a cup of coffee, but I walked away with a valuable lesson and a better attitude. Thanks TIno!
Expensive but definitely worth the treat once in awhile. Parking is extremely difficult. Either you pay or take a bus or use Uber.
With four characteristic bars inside the Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room, this is a must visit place for both visitors and Seattlelites. Unlike any other Starbucks, the Reserve has the look, feel and aroma of a gourmet show room. Even if your not a coffee lover, there is something for everyone. From the Bon Appetit picture perfect pastries and desserts, to the distinctively Seattle pizza slices; you wont leave hungry.
Looking over the menu to choose something, can seem a bit intimidating, especially if your a typical Libra type personality like myself. I finally gave up and asked the barista to just give me his favorite. That was the perfect choice. As he was describing the whiskey barrel aged coffee beans, my caffined spirit started drooling. The smoothness of the cold served coffee is something that cannot be described with words. Drinking this new favorite made me feel underdressed; and as if jazz musicians should have been playing in front of the floor to ceiling windows.
The overall feeling of Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room is that of a winery; except it's coffee. After feeling like a million coffee beans, tour the roasting area and learn about the art of coffee.
I wish I could have gone here, but never made it past the line.
Great place to enjoy coffee and look at the huge brass roasting machine, all the fancy equipment to brew coffee, there are so so many tourists, you have to wait a while to get a seat, luckily, we got a great seat to watch they used those manual style coffee Brewer that use heat light to boil water. We even saw the tv station interview CEO of the Starbucks
The production section is very interesting to see, definitely the best Starbucks I've been to.
AGE DISCRIMINATION.......... NEW YORK STORE
So shocked and disheartened.
Received awards from past stores and was told on phone that I would not fit in b/c of my age.
I'm very hard to impress, but I was dumbfounded. You have to see this place!
Touristic place. Nice to see the roasting but the coffee is too expensive
Very cool Starbucks location. The large space filled with roasters is pretty awesome to see. They have a great selection of unique coffee to sample in flights. Highly training Batista's.
What else! Starbuck origin's. Amazing.
But to be honest, as a French, the pastry wasn't the best! The espresso coffee from Tanzania great! Thanks
Hands down my favorite place in Seattle! I really really enjoyed it.
Can be a bit crazy but it's a very cool spot to treat yourself to some fancy coffee drinks.
Expensive coffee. But a very interesting place to visit nonetheless, with the experience tour, all the varied machinery inside, and the history of being the location of the very first Starbucks store
When we arrived around noon, there were quite a few people inside the store, and it was crowded so that only people could look in either direction. I ordered about 15 minutes to order coffee, but I think that there is little waiting time for a long queue because a lot of staff make coffee one after another at tremendous speed. Nitro Cold Brew Coffee cost $ 7.16 including tax. I was surprised that the fragrant coffee like nuts was completely different from ordinary drip. Principles Panettone and Cannolo were delicious with authentic taste like eating in Italy. We drank coffee while standing because it was crowded. There was no place like a park around the shop, so I think it would be better to go there without being able to sit.
A must stop for coffee fans. The mixology bar is really cool as well and makes excellent cocktails.
I felt bad for cheating on Dutch Bros.. but everyone said it is a must to stop in at the first Starbucks! (Which I've heard it wasn't actually the original) However, it was still a cool experience. We skipped the coffee and went for the cake pops!
Awesome ambience and collectables. Varieties of coffee infused cocktails also.
The atmosphere was pretty good. My favorite part was the pastries and cocktails. So fancy!
This Starbucks is much easier to visit than the original location down the street. This location is pretty cool they serve malts, beer, and all kinds of interesting coffee drinks and brews.
Beautiful architecture, friendly and helpful staff that knows everything about coffee and preparation, tasty desserts and a wide variety of world sourced coffee. Hard to park like any place in Capitol Hill so I would recommend a cab or Uber. Comfy seating and lots of unique coffee souvenirs and exclusive stuff. A little expensive for the coffee experience...you are in Seattle so there are plenty of local awesome coffee shops. Regardless, a tourist attraction worth checking out.
One of the busiest SB that I have been tho but service is quick and excellent.
The menu is amazing but so is the crush of people. Definitely worth a visit if you bring a gracious dose of patience.
Very cool place. It was a different experience watching the roasted coffee beans filling the jars automatically..we had the flight tasting and it was great! They have a wonderful selection of sandwiches and desserts too. The affagato is made with Mora ice cream. If you dont want to go all the way to Bainbridge island you can just get the ice cream here with coffee
I had my first siphon-brewed coffee and it was great. Costly, but like you would expect from a coffee you would enjoy like a cocktail or glass of wine more than something you would slug down in a few minutes. It was fun to sit at the bar and see how everything works.
This is a must and not just for the coffee, the food from Princi is amazing too!
Drinks are delicious, absolutely worth the long line!
Real deal, freshly roasted beans straight to grinder and precise service for coffee. Stunning choice and quick service!
Very unique, great choice of coffees! Too bad they don't have tours here as well
The best Starbucks concept store in Seattle, with unique souvenirs, hand-coffee and desserts, and the Pizza area. It can be used with the founding shop to make a set trip and experience the full Starbucks coffee.
LOVE this place! If you're a coffee lover, you need to go here! I highly recommend the private tour. It was $35 per person but you get chocolate truffles, a pastry, and get to try three different coffee - each brewed a different way.
A lovely place to stop in and warm up as I was traipsing around Seattle. Inside, it is beautiful with huge coffee roasters and tons of delicious looking food. A very cool place to stop in and peek around or to hang out for a couple of hours. I think it would also be a great place to go on a date, as the tasting experience would be lovely to share.
Such a great experience! The tech was so nice and talked to my husband for at least 30 minutes about how everything worked! Great service, and an overall great afternoon
Awesome experience if you love coffee and all things Starbucks.
Wow you can see how they make coffee and package it. Also you cand do an experiment. Great place for visiting. Just a bit pricey
