It was one of those bitter experiences while doing the home shopping. In Jan 2020 self along with wife went to visit furniture exhibition in Nehru Planetarium as we wanted to buy a lounge sofa cum bed. In the beginning itself on the 2nd stall of the exhibition, we got caught by the sweet talker of the stall called 'Star India Company's sales executive and the owner. To be short, we placed an order for a Lounge Sofa by paying more than 55% of the total cost and the balance to be paid at the time of delivery. After about 25 days we received photographs of the sofa which was ready. We had doubts in the design of sofa and therefore my wife wanted to clarify doubts from the shop owner. The shop owner instantly and rudely refused to clarify doubts telephonically and insisted that we go to his shop. Trying to convince him our inability to travel from South Mumbai to suburbs due to old age and health issues, did not work and he very curtly told my wife," while speaking you should keep in mind that you are speaking to the owner of the show room". As a result, and being an Army Veteran I sent him a small gentle message reminding him of how a gentleman should not be talking in such a rude way to a lady. Finally, we requested him to deliver the sofa as it is. Rightly so, the sofa was sent and the vehicle parked at the main road away from our building complex and the person called me up asking for the balance amount to be delivered at the main road where the tempo is parked and then only the sofa will be delivered at home. Despite requesting to deliver the sofa at home and at the same time collect balance amount had no effect. The owner of the Company had no trust for whatever the reason could be. That gave us suspicion that there must be something wrong in the making of sofa. Finally, the person did not deliver the sofa and was asked by the owner to return the vehicle without delivering the sofa. This was something new, and shocking to be heard of in the market culture and never before faced such a situation. Thought it to be right that by uncovering the mask from the real face of such business people should be brought out in public and taught a lesson in order not to be repeated with my other brethren. Therefore have decided to drag him to court on the issue even though we have to shell out more than another sofa cost besides loosing what we have already paid Star India Company more than 55% of the total sofa cost for which we have the proper receipt with us. We will see in the long run and wait for the court ruling. In the meanwhile, will look for another sofa set from a good professional company such as Urban Ladder

Most of the good reviews are from their own people. Fact is - very unprofessional people. Sweet talkers but zero focus on customer service. Poor quality of materials used. Furniture didn't survive even couple of months of normal usage. Beware of dealing with them - you will regret !

Further to my review post of 22nd Feb. It will take little time to engage a lawyer and begin the legal process against Star India Company. However, I will keep you all, whosoever interested, posted of the further developments. I don't know much about the company; may be good, mediocre or poor but a firm which has no business ethics, is rude to the customers in the beginning itself at the point of initial delivery, cannot be expected in the long run to render a good sales service. It all happened because, I think so, the firm had already recovered almost 60% of the total cost of sofa and thereafter doesn't give two hoots. I have rated Star India as 2 , the reason being - even if a business house is efficient enough but does not possess business ethos cannot be rated good

Got a recliner from Star India. Excellent experience. During this covid times, it was still very hassle free and excellent service. I first spoke with mr. ajit jaiswar from star india on the phone --- he shared a lot of details as well as photos of the options available. however, i wanted to test out the recliner before purchasing, so went to the shop in goregaon. big clean store. tried all the recliners and picked one. Mr. Ajit also provided the option for customizing the fabric, but since i wanted one urgently, i ordered one which was ready. It was delivered 2 days later -- delivery was very professional and they set it up also for me. super duper experience with Star India. Excellent customer service by Mr. Ajit Jaiswar -- he truly made it a very hassle freee experience for me.

Very poor quality bof furniture. I purchased an Automatic Recliner around 6 months back and believe me life has never been easy since then 1. Very poor quality of furniture 2. The automatic machine keeps on having problem all the time. The foot rest doesn't open. The recliner is noisy. 3. The product displayed at the shop will not have these issues but the delivered product has 4. Worst customer service ever They do not have a dedicated customer service. No one is available on emails or calls. U just have to keep on the store all the time begging for a customer service help. So all in all, think twice before you purchase from this store. I would anyday recommend homecentre over this as the products are of the same range but with a brand quality and brand name and a good customer service

Ordered the Sofa. Saw the sample in store. The sofa came after more 2 months. The dimensions and the finish of the sofa was totally different from the one displayed and agreed upon. On followup, they were initially helpful to rectify the mistake but then vanished.

Poor quality of work. Very Rude behaviour.. they appear to be sweet on face... But quite the opposite. People who do not respect their profession are just not worth it. Prices are ok though people are not. Deal with them at your own risk!!

Had ordered a sofa 2 years back, which turned out excellent. Wanted 2 matching chairs after 2 years. Mr Ajit not only maintained the quality but also delivered it on time in this testing times.

Its a good showroom and the furniture is also of a decent quality, but the staff is unresponsive, so service is a very big issue. I think the owner is also not able to manage their staff. I am satisfied with the products but very very disappointed by the unprofessional attitude of the staff.

I had purchased recliners from star company which was delivered in the month of March 2020. But after 5 months I called them to resolve the recliner botton problem. The official Mr. Ajit Jaiswar himself attended as there were no technicians available due to covid lockdown. I really appreciate the service provided by the star company. When he came here he explained that it was jammed due to non use of the button and it was absolutely fine and had no problem at all. Still without losing any temper he attended the complaint and explained each and every function in detail once again. Thanks to him, to be so considerate even during lockdown period.

Very professional and competent for furniture related work. Visited personally and very impressed about their facility of big workshop at very heart of Mumbai occupying almost a complete floor of building.Purchased 2 items ( shoe rack and office computer table).
