The hotel is located in the heart of the city, just off Union Square and opposite the Macy department store. The hotel is very busy, check-in counter There are long-term passengers waiting. But the staff were very cordial and smiling, the lobby was very stylish, and it was a 5-star hotel, so the price was slightly more expensive.
The hotel is actually composed of two buildings, Landmark (classical old style) and Tower (late added, modern style), I live in the Tower Building, the room is very comfortable and tidy.

Beautiful building, square it's located on is an odd blend of architectural styles that works somehow (tastes may differ). Worth a visit just for the lobby alone and imagine how life must have been in the early 1900s when this was a new hotel.

Great location and the rooms are reasonably new. Some people complained about "bathrooms were small" - keep in mind this is downtown San Francisco...If you want a bigger bathroom, go visit Dallas.

This is a pretty great hotel. Staff is attentive. Rooms are big and clean. Room service has been pretty amazing as well. It really helps to sign up for the SPG membership, it's free, and you'll get free WiFi and sometimes a free room upgrade

Quite an opulent and I assume historic building. The event was catered with a relatively rich variety of foods. Bathrooms were somewhat limited as expected of an older building. If you fear mirrors, stay away.

Fantastic location on Union Sq, with even better views. Quick walk to most of the major tourist areas, and near the cable cars. It's a little run-down around the margins (peeling walls here and there, loose trim, etc), but nothing terrible. Definitely a place I'd stay again.

Booked a street view room. Got building view room. No microwave in room. Parking is horrible. 75 dollar per day and Plus sale tax. Never will stay this hotel. Everytime need to go somewhere valet people take forever to bring car. No good experience. Don't recommend to anyone.

Like most Westin s this is a great full device hotel. They host significant conferences here and do a good job. The coffee bar and food is on par with others in this line but nothing special. Stay here if you can get a discount or if it is necessary. It s not the best in the category or the city but it is very good.

As a local it's fun to go to hotel bars in the area as an almost staycation. The clock bar at the St regis is the perfect place to do this. It's definitely pricey but the service is impeccable.

Stood here throughout my stay in San Francisco and i have no complaints. Beautiful hotel in a great location. The train, buses and trolley car's are all within a 2 minute walk. And the gym they have here is top-notch

Fabulous stay here at The Westin. Check in efficient room was amazing (in new section), bed comfy, huge bathroom. The cafe downstairs serves some reasonable food (Karla is so nice). The complimentary water was much appreciated. The view from the room and lift was amazing. Easy to catch tram, the hop on/hop off bus, taxi rank just outside. Surrounded by high end shops but some good food can be found just two blocks up. Good laundry on Jones st. Sad to be leaving, but Vegas beckons.

This hotel is in a great location.
This hotel is right in front of Union Square.
Located in the heart of downtown
It was a hotel in a convenient location to go anywhere.

It's old, but the inside is very beautiful.
The room is
Grand Deluxe Room (Tower Building)
400 sq ft / 37 sq m
Spacious
The bathroom was large and comfortable to use.
The shower was good too.
I think that those who are worried about the water around can stay with peace of mind.

Check-in and check-out were smooth.

I thought it was a stable Westin brand!

This is a weird review. I didn t stay at the Westin St. Francis. However... even if you also find this hotel outside your budget, you should still stroll on in a look around the lobbies, bars, shops, and nice displays of this hotels amazing history. If you are at Union Square, don t miss this!

Great historic hotel. Stayed in the newer tower rooms on the 26th floor which was plenty of room for a family of four. My son and I walked through the older part of the hotel one night and you could feel the history. Btw, there is a great documentary about the St. Francis on the hotel channel. Had no idea that this was the place that Fatty Arbuckle basically ended his career after being caught with a dead partier in his suite.

Great location on San Francisco and it was the perfect place to explore the city for the first time.

Rooms were very nice, beds we're comfortable. Some of the furniture was somewhat old. For example there were cracks in the ceiling and old looking Glass doorknobs and the toilet had a bar to flush like in a public restroom. Everything worked great though and the tv was nice.

The hotel is amazing, really well located and the services are brilliant. The only thing I didn't like was the beds. They are comfortable yes. But the covers are really hard and reeeaally heavy.

I attended a conference here and was amazed at how nice it was. This was the perfect venue for the conference. It had great seating and lightning. The stage area was great. This would be a great place to have a wedding. The food was actually very good and vegetarian friendly. The WiFi was really fast, with good reception.

An absolutely disappointing hotel and a forgettable experience. If you want the run around, a lengthy check in, enjoy being lied to and given a filthy dirty room with paint on the curtains and wet hand towels, then stay here!

Location is great. Very expensive (partly due to location) - we couldn't stay due to the cost, but if you can afford it, a popular hotel in a beautiful building overlooking Union Square and the city itself.

Best Customer Service of any hotel i have ever stayed at. Beautiful rooms and great food. This is the place to be if you are going to San Fran for a vacation. Its located in the heart of Union Square.

Stayed at the Saint Francis Westin in the beginning of October. The price was extremely high. Not unexpected due to the Sales Force Convention. The rooms were were not well kept as far as the walls, paint, and the largest issue was the door locks other than the key lock were no working.

Cracks in the door frame and splits were noticible. The manual lock which normally would attach to the door was not secured so that lock would not work and the door was was installed but the alignment prevented the dead bolt from wroking.

It appeared that someone broke down the door and the Hotel did a quick repair at the cost of safety and security.

The employees of the Hotel are friendly and respectful. But to pay such a price for night of a room lacking safety, two bulbs burnt out.

Overall the Lobby is classy, the rooms appear just like they did when the hotel was built and maybe over time a few coats of paint.

There are better value places in SF.

Large comfortable room, very clean. Really nice decor, beautiful room. Very convenient location and my room was overlooking Union Square. The staff were friendly.

Just across the street from Union Square, rooms were super comfortable and well maintained.

Check in was fast (for SPG Members with status).

Valet parking is expensive but there is in and out privilege, still quite expensive though. Wait time for valet to bring up the car can be up to an hour!

Amazing Westin right on Union Square. Rooms are a bit small but the location and staff are A+. Also The Clock Bar is located inside which is a very cool place to hang out and haveva drink without a doubt.

When I checked in all was great until I got to my room. But I wasn't too thrilled that my room had an unlocked door on the right wall leading to the next suite. The chair leaning against the door wasn't much comfort either. So I complained at the reception and they apologized and gave me a huge two bed suite all to myself! It was spacious, clean, and the beds were amazing! Best night's rest! The hallways are quite wide, almost double the width of normal buildings, and everything is nearly sound proof, I never heard any other guests. Wonderful experience!!! :)

Upon arrival the check-in process was fast and easy. Had a reservation for a queen bed and after arriving in the room discovered it was a full bed. After a quick call to the front desk they sent someone up with a key to a new room that also supposedly has a queen bed. Luckily the second room was not like the first where they are passing off a full bed as a queen bed and charging the higher price for it.

The hotel is old and very elegant, both of which I personally appreciate.

The shower head is huge and very high up which is perfect for my 6'7" body.

All in all a very comfortable stay and very close to many attractions to see.
