While the staff is impeccable and the lobby (complete with a bar/cafe lounge) is grandiose, the room smelled like incense-transitioning-to-cigarettes. The room was large with lovely city views and the hotel is conveniently located to high end shopping and the mass of tourists that is Union Square. Oh, and if you're craving a good steak, stop into Bourbon Steak, which lives right next to the lobby. Location and service are the high points of this hotel.

A timeless hotel centrally located in the heart of San Francisco. You have easy access to the whole city from here and are surrounded by some of San Francisco's finest eating establishments. The hotel staff is extremely courteous and make you feel welcomed. I highly recommend this place for whenever you are visiting this beautiful city.

Excellent stay for three nights at the Westin. We were upgraded to one of the suites (I am platinum at SPG) with some champagne and strawberries to celebrate our anniversary.

Spacious suite with views over union square.

Great location and service all around was good.

I am disappointed in the hotel- I checked in at 8 PM but my room was not ready yet. I was provided with a drink voucher for the trouble but their bar didn t accept them! I was also not directed towards which set of elevators to take to my room and ended up spending 15 minutes trying to find the right one. The rooms are small and the bathroom is tiny. My closet doorknob was loose and came off when I opened it for the first time... I had to screw it back on myself. Will definitely not be coming here again.

Fantastic hotel right by the Union Square and at the heart of SF downtown. Macy's, H&M, Walgreens, GAP - everything in walking distance. Also close to attractions like the Museum of Ice cream and the Amazon Go retail store. The staff are courteous, and the Oak Room Restaurant has good breakfast options. All in all, a great option for your stay but may be a bit pricey.

The history of this building cannot be beat! Great staff and well appointed rooms add the the nostalgia of the hotel. The lobby lounge is also amazing how we having to pay additional charges for Internet access is why I cannot give it 5 stars

This is a really awesome place right on Union Square. The elevator is made out of glass and you can get a great view over the entire city when going up the floors. Can really recommend it!

I stayed 2 nights at The Westin. The hotel staff were all very friendly and made you feel nice being there in my experience. The room itself was average for a hotel, with a pretty nice tub/shower. The TV has Netflix built-in, which is a great plus. They also have little things like coffee and tea and lavender oil to help you fall asleep. It's truly right there by Union Square and a great place is you can get a good deal on the price to stay if you want to get a good SF experience. There are A TON of things you can do around the area if you stay here, which is the main appeal. I would stay here again if the rooms were still on a nice deal.

Staying here for 1 night during corona virus. Excellent rooms for the price, we considered couple other places like Mark hopkins but the St Francis had the best rooms judging from the pics. And they were accurate. Not alot if people, limited services but a great stay. Room with a view of union Square was well worth it. TV came well equiped with cable and netflix. Wifi was free, spotty at times though. Highly recommend.

This is a really impressive hotel right in the middle of Union square. I stayed in a room on the fourth floor that had a balcony with furniture for enjoying the outside. I really enjoyed my time in the room. Soon items of now in the room were, a mini frig, a coffee maker, a desk and a large screen TV.

Amazing lobby and great staff when you can find someone and the front desk line isn't 10 deep. The rooms are from the 70's if you are lucky. This is not a place I will be staying again. I will say they have a great gym.

The staff was friendly, the room was immaculate and well appointed, the lobby and open areas were beautiful, the restaurant superb, and you just can't beat the location. It's close to everything! We took a cable car from less than two blocks away to Ghirardelli and the walked to pier 39,took the f/market bus back and had dinner in the hotel. The concierge even helped us plan the day, which could not have been more perfect. We've stayed twice in the last two weeks and will definitely be back soon. I'm in SF on business regularly, and the Westin St. Francis is the only place I'll stay now!

Very nicely furnished rooms, super nice and courteous staff from the reception to the waiters.
I can only recommend the breakfast buffet.

The staff members are very courteous and professional. The room was very clean, tidy, and well stocked. The place has a really nice fitness center. Convenient location for shopping. Lots of places to eat and drink around the hotel. Since there is no self park onsite, its easier to park across the street at the union square parking.

Location is just accross Union Square, easy to get anywhere by bus, cable car and taxi. The room is a bit old but comfortable and spacious. The reception are nice but the luggage room officers are a but rude. Love the building so much.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Rooms have a historic feel to them, yet have very modern amenities. Service was excellent. Lots of meeting rooms; great place for business conferences. Wi-Fi exceeded my expectations. The catered food was average, and I wish there was a hot tub (but I realize the high-end historic hotels like this one typically don t have hot tubs or pools).

Wow for a delicious lunch. The hotel is of the 'old school' and everyone is so helpful and you really feel it is a pleasure for them to serve you. The whole place is steeped in history. We both hope it is not 'updated and spoilt. It has The Oak Room where our lunch was taken and it was perfectly finished off with the St Francis cheesecake, ok so we did share it, next time it'll be one each. We also found the coffee shop very handy right in the foyer. 100% will return.

My wife and I stayed at the Westin St. Francis Ford and very much enjoyed the room and the service. We were on the 28 floor and the view is amazing. The service was excellent and all employees were friendly and very helpful. I recommend asking for a city view room. Valet parking was mandatory so be prepared to pay alot of extra $$ for it. Overall an excellent experience and would be happy to stay again.

One of my favorite hotels in the city. Great views if you get one of the higher floors. Great location and close to everything. Good gym (with Peloton!l. Some areas area slightly dated but I think adds to the charm.

Hotel is conveniently located and has good amenities and service. The rooms are clean and has some historic charm but definitely are showing signs of age, especially in the doors, tiles and carpets.

Good rooms in an older hotel. Newly renovated tower is nice. Hotel feels older but the charm is certainly there. Good for corporate events, especially banks, insurance companies and the like. A little old and stuffy but I appreciated the nice mattress and business traveller focus. Would stay again on business.

We were in the old tower. The halls remind me of American Horror Story; wide and stark. Hospitality was good. Rooms were clean but beds not as comfortable. Coffee machine in rooms with Starbucks a perk.

I m going to save your trip. Go to Fairmont instead! Westin san fran is OLD, STINKY, and has TERRIBLE STAFFS at frontdesk. They keep changing their words about final charges and try to overcharge you. Room stinked and dusts everywhere so decided to check out after two days. We left the hotel feeling terribly unpleasant after talking to the manager Elizabeth Lopez. Staffs here are dumb and a disgrace to Westin name. We moved to Fairmont and now it feels like a hotel in every aspect.

Convenient location at the heart of San Francisco. Elegant lobby. Rooms are spacious and continues to reflect the elegance of the hotel. I did have a bad experience with regards to noise on the 20th floor. The water pipes feel like they're right next to me, so I was woken up everytime someone turned on the faucet.

Rooms were nice an updated; mine had a fridge in it. Staff was extremely curtious and friendly. They have a coffee stand with breakfast treats like fruit and pastries which was really nice. No free WiFi 15 dollars a day.

Loved our stay in this historic hotel. Beautiful facility, wonderful room (really high ceilings, bathroom a bit odd, but comfy). Of course you can't go wrong with Westin's branded beds, always a great feature!

The rooms were beautiful. With that said, the protests from the union strike were really loud and I'll likely not stay there again due to the diminished services and the noise. When this is all resolved, I'll definitely stay again.
