I loved learning about Brunel! A good balance of information and interaction, and the best historic ship in the area. The inside has been refitted as a mock-up of a few different areas, and it looks like the passengers and crew have just stepped away for a bit.

A very nicely designed museum where not only ship lovers will have fun. Because of the many interactive stations, a passport for children and disguised actors, the museum is also very suitable for children.
The cards are valid for one year, but still don't cost much.

Used the SS Great Britain as my Wedding venue and can't praise it enough. Both the SS staff and the catering staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly, some of the nicest people I've ever met. Organisation is faultless, I can't believe how easy and well my Wedding day went and that couldn't have been achieved without these guys.
The ship itself is stunning, perfect as a venue but also so historical and unique. I know I'm biased, but I think this was the best Wedding I've ever been too!!

Excellent explanation of the physical and historical part of the ship, the first recognized transatlantic.
Surprising visit to keel, helices and rudder.
The price a little expensive is compensated for what you see and they tell you.

Brilliant place to take the kids on a day out with the sunshine. Plenty to see and do, they can even climb the mast! A ticket last you a whole year meaning you can go back whenever. Prime location with ice-cream and cafes close by.

What a great place - the family loved it. The museum part was very interesting with very interactive activities including lifting the ships old propeller! There is then the ship itself with various levels alto explore and some interesting smells to add to the authenticity. Finally you can go into the old dry dock and see the bottom of the vessel. All of this is wheelchair and pram accessable. One of the best attractions in Bristol.

An amazing place to visit. Fantastic for young and old. The full story of the ship. The people who sailed in her and the man who designed her. A must place to visit. Allow at least 3 hours for the full experience.

Well worth the visit. Initially thought it was expensive but very impressed when I went in. They have paid a lot of attention to detail including smells, and sounds, background conversation to make it a worthwhile attraction.

The site is atmospheric, the ship itself, in original dry dock has been lovingly restored. The place was buzzing with visitors, exploring the ship herself tells such a story. Impressive and fascinating, for all ages. Good gift shop, 'crew's staff really friendly and enthusiastic.
Bristol is an amazing city and the ship and Brunel, her designer, contribute to her rich history.
After visit I had a lunch and wine, sitting on deck over the harbour waters. Delightful afternoon watching ferries kayaks boats come by.
Travelled by GWR from London which was part of the adventure and magic of the day for me.

Super interesting exhibition about the first large iron ship with steam drive and propeller, as well as its builder.
The information is short but interesting. The actors involve you in conversations with great anecdotes and all sorts of interesting facts.
The exploration of the restored ship is fun and serves ALL sensory impressions. We had a stay of about 4 hours, which was never boring.
It also offers audio guides with sufficiently short explanations in different languages.

Exceptional "museum". Short waiting times. Courteous staff, who even distributed umbrellas in the rain. As everything in the UK is not necessarily cheap, but the tickets are valid for a full year

How they have turned the SS Great Britain into a walk though museum is great, it's really nice to see and feel a piece of Bristol history. The tickets last for a year so you can come back as many times as you like. A good activity for kids as there is a lot to take in and explore. Would recommend checking it out.

Its fairly dear, but its well worth a visit. Well preserved with nearby parking, attentive, knowledgeable staff and a cute gift shop. Nearby area is great to walk around as well with lots of places to eat within a short radius.
I've also been lucky enough to have a Christmas party here, this is a great venue for 100/200 odd staff. The catering is great and its a really unique place to have a party, great staff as well!

Fabulous! A great place to visit- and you can return for free for a whole year! To see the remarkable feat of engineering and also have a close up look at life aboard ship was a true delight.
