One of the best experiences we have had as a family. We really felt as if we were on board the SS Great Britain First, it is COVID-19 friendly. We had to book our tickets in advance and also book a specific time slot. They have a one way system in place and because of the time slots, it was all very organized and not too crowded. The ship itself is amazing from the inside. The best part about it is how authentic it is. I loved reading the letters from the people that were on board the ship; made me feel like I was experiencing history firsthand. Also, the way they displayed the different parts of the boat (rooms, kitchen, dining areas etc.) was amazing. I have attached some pictures. Enjoy it

Top tourist attraction in Bristol. Definitely worth a visit. SS Great Britain has a long story and one of Brunel's ingenuity creations which will inspire you and young children especially if they are keen on engineering and mechanics. They also offer venue hire for meetings, conferences, weddings, dinners, and private parties.

A flying visit only today with 3 year old granddaughter but always something of interest to see. Unfortunately, missed the Victorian weekend but Christmas decorations still in place to add atmosphere throughout the ship.

A fascinating look at the life and times of I K Brunel. How the rich and poor travelled together in victorian times. Staffed by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers. Covers a lot more than the ship.

On a tip-off from a colleague, we thought we would drop in for a visit. So glad we did, as there was much more to see than just the ship - as interesting as that is!
This exhibition tells the story of how ships like the SS Great Britain were put to work back in the day, humanising the events of the time through use of clever cards which tell the story of noteworthy characters of the time.
Friendly and helpful staff too!

It really depends on who you are to decide if you are going to enjoy it here. Personally, it's not my thing but if you're into boats and Bristol's history, then it's worth going for a visit.

Really informative and a good way to spend a few hours. The ship is impressive and beautiful and it's history is well told. Additionally, the history of Brunel, the ship's designer is well communicated and makes a fascinating story all of its own.

I quite often go here for my lunch, I always get the same thing b/c there isn't much variety for vegetarians but that's the same with most places in the harbour and this cafe is relatively cheap.

Amazing story of recovery from the Falklands as a hulk, gradual restoration and a really impressive visit, together with surrounding buildings with exhibits and stories. Allow several hours for your time here. Well informed staff, friendly and helpful.

As a Bristolian, I'd forgotten how great the SS Great Britain is. It's brilliant for adults and children alike. You can easily spend an hour or two wandering around.

Well built museum around the boat. it allows you to immerse yourself in the history of its construction and travel. There are also entertaining activities for children - including the possibility of climbing to the mast.

Super visit today. Very well presented and a great deal to see. Especially impressed with the furnishing of the ship, and the dry Dock. Excellent covid precautions, so it felt very safe. Thank you

Amazing and full of history. We saw how the class system worked on the ship for staff and passengers, for their sleeping and eating. It was an amazing ship which you can walk round from the dry dock under the ship to the three level, upper middle and lower decks. Then there were museums around the site a cafe and gift shop. Plus your ticket gets you in for free another day within the year. To finish we saw two free shows of acrobatic and a very interesting talk by a volunteer .

Really great place for adults and children. Even though some bits are closed off due to covid-19 there is still loads to do. It's also very good that you can keep going back with you ticket as so much to take in.

great day out, I love Brunel and being on this ship is amazing, you can go below outside and poke your fingers through the rust holes in the hull, or go above and see the amazing ship in detail. history is amazing to think you can stand on this ship where Brunel the great man was struck down and died 10 days later. then go and drive over the Clifton suspension bridge, worth every penny

On the way back from holiday in Devon we decided to swing by Bristol for the day. My 7year old daughter has recently learnt about Brunel at school so she pestered us to go see SS Great Britain. I looked at the ticket prices for the 4 of us (2 adults & 2 Children) & thought it was pretty steep. Especially after an already expensive Easter holiday trip to Devon. However, she was really enthusiastic and keen to go & thought it best to promote this interest as it is a change from Minecraft & YouTube. Other than a stressful 40minutes looking for parking in the small carpark and other local parking we found a space. After this we all had a fantastic time and the dry dock in its self was worth the entry fee. Rarely will you ever get to stand beneath the hull or a propeller of such a large ship below the water line. It was simply amazing. As I walked around reading her story I also began to appreciate the effort make to bring the wrecked ship home to Bristol and the conservation going on which justifies the entry price. The whole attraction was pretty spectacular & very interesting. I know of Brunel and his works but I also have a new appreciation for him. Also one happy daughter eger to tell all her friends at school that she went to the toilet on the SS Great Britain.
