Great Beer, good food at very reasonable prices. Will definitely come back if I am in the area again.
Great Beer, good food at very reasonable prices. Will definitely come back if I am in the area again.
Good beer and food. Can be crowded. Host for Utes out of town football team "tailgates" on game nights
Good food, good beer, great atmosphere. What's a visit to Salt Lake City without a stop at Squatters.
I came here for the beer, but I'm not going to talk about that.
Many a brewpub makes excellent beer and coasts on it - sure, the rest of the menu might be decent bar food, but nothing special. This place is the exception. You can come here, order a house salad and small soup, and be entirely satisfied with it - it is THAT good. Vincent, the chef, is otherworldly. The hominy in the posole? It ain't from a can. They probably get it straight from heaven for all I know. Fresh bread and finely rendered fat make things about as good as they can get without dishing out 3 figures for a meal. Absolutely excellent food, and the service is great as well. Unqualified recommendation for anyone and everyone, I love this place.
Choosing Squatters for our wedding and reception was one of the best decisions my husband and I made. As beer nerds, we already love Squatters for so many reason and we loved that The Loft and The Grain Room are great spaces for parties and the industrial style to it really suit us and our desire to have a really cool, minimalist venue that doesn't require much in the way of decor. The outside mural also made for an excellent backdrop for photos!
Olivia, the events coordinator, is an amazingly accommodating and patient individual who was incredibly helpful and professional during the planning process. All the service staff were also awesome, ensuring our guests were comfortable and well taken care of. And as a busy bride I can hardly remember eating, but so many guests told us how amazing the taco buffet was; some had even said it was some of the best wedding food they had ever had!
I have been suggesting Squatters for private parties ever since our April wedding and am hoping more people will consider this location an option for their private events, especially weddings.
Invited here for a special event that included breakfast. The food was wonderful and the staff friendly and professional. Will visit again for lunch sometime.
Overall a very good experience. Food was great, so was the wait staff.
Loved it! Great food and drinks. Best brewery pub in SLC.
I really enjoy this place. The food is great, and the drinks are second to none. Fun atmosphere and great for gatherings
It's good food for a brewery. I don't drink, so I can't really comment on the selection. I've always been satisfied with my food and service. Not remarkable, but very good and a fun, brewery type atmosphere.
Hops rising. Those who've had it know what I'm talking about
Fun atmosphere, good crowds and a wide variety of beer choices.
Great experience. Been here several times. Every time we are treated well, drinks are good, place is clean, but crowded.
The restaurant's garden is beautiful, the ambient is great, the food is delicious and the service is prompt.
I personally don't think the food here is that great, I can find better burgers in the area.
Ok, been to the this one and the airport. Here's the deal. Food is ok, I would say it's what you expect for pub food.
Let's set the record straight regarding the beer. Sub par, at best. If you want to drink some waterd down piss water, save the hassle and get yourself a bud light. At least you can almost call that a beer, it has some body and at least a bit of flavor. This squatters garbage on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. I realize utaU has some sad laws regarding booze but at least brew something with a bit of flavor, please.
Upstairs is an excellent place for a wedding or other event! We had over 85 people.
Wait staff was great, beer and food were really good. Really good experience. Took our safety serious, very appreciated.
Great food! Great service! Fast service and food comes out quick!
Decent beer, decent atmosphere, friendly staff. Suggestion: serve sweet potato frys with Fry sauce. I can t ding them for this but this is one thing that most places with sweet potato frys don t get.. maybe it s me.
A lot of their beers are good but not great. Actually I haven t had a single great beer by them. But they have plenty of average to good beers. And some that are not so great.
The food and service is amazing. They socially distance you and have barcodes on the table for the digital menu. Very well executed.
Loved the server, breakfast and prices! Server, Megatron was so friendly and sweet for our first time in.
They have good to go beer you can buy. food is good i got the enchilada. I felt it was small for the price tasted good though.
Varied menu, with selections for everyone. The cheese steak was quite good, and the street tacos where popular as well. Good beer selection, all draft beers brewed on site. Good selection of cans from all over the country, surprisingly even Florida. Most friendly staff I met in my whole visit
Great food, even better beer. The staff is pretty good for the most part. Bar tenders are great! Good atmosphere and the wait times are decent. Weekend evenings may be challenging to get a table.
Go for the beer, stay for the food. Great service. only downfall - many people know how great it is, and the wait can be long.
Very good. Nice and typical American bar. Raquel's extraordinary attention.
Great atmosphere, great beer and food, however if you want mimosas and bloody Mary's on Saturday and Sundays, go to Roasters, they mix the right amount for the price you pay
Both their food and their beers have always been top notch every time I have been there.
Great service and food. Chilaquiles are delicious. And 2.00 mimosas on Sunday make a festive atmosphere!
I like it here always quality food & service. Definitely worth a return trip. Bring your hunger - portions are large. Ambience reminds me of San Diego's scene.
Wow! Joe was our server, and he was phenomenal. Great service! He was very attentive to my needs (I'm gluten free) and assured me I could eat safely. Plenty of gluten free options. Very yummy food. The seasoned vegetables were outstanding too - normally I get vegetables and they taste like cardboard, but these were seasoned and amazing. Potatoes were delicious too! The sirloin was also good, but potatoes and veggies were better. Would definitely recommend.
(Back story) 3 days before we called to reserve a table and were told they don t do reservations. Fast forward to the day of the concert and now we walk in and are told that all their tables above 4 people require reservation. So we told them we called multiple days ago and said they think they might have been booked out. Super sass the whole time and maybe have your staff know what they re talking about before they just throw out random excuse
Mitch is fantastic hIs service and the food was amazing. I really enjoyed both nights I ate here. Probably one of the best sirloin steaks I have had. Great atmosphere
The beers are great and that Artichoke Cheese Dip.... Oh wow! Oh and by the way Keely is a great server!!!
Absolutely underwhelming. We got fish and chips and they forgot the sauce. The club sandwich was dry and lacked taste. Wings were only thing saving this and what afforded them a 2 star review but they too were nothing to write home about. Def won t be ordering again.
We enjoyed our experience sitting at the bar our primary server was kind/accommodating. Food came out quickly but was so-so. Unfortunately at the end of our dinner we encountered some pretty insolent staff and that interaction really just killed it for us. Glad we weren t the only ones as several other reviewers have had a similar experience. Beer was decent. Net is there are plenty of other brew pubs in the immediate area where you can have your substandard customer service experience redeemed.
Fried pickles were great. Had the house butger. It was very good. Service was slow, but typical of what I experienced at other SLC downtown restaurants. Would go back, just plan on being there a bit.
I love squatters beer I want to just say that. I have never been in to the restaurant location but I went in there yesterday for the first time for an interview. I ended up getting a job I wanted today so I call in to be respectful and let them know I won't be coming to the interview, and I was answered very rudely by a woman with zero typical customer service, and in the middle of me explaining the reason for my call she hangs up on me. Not a very good example to be setting and left a very sour taste in my mouth about this business and the people they employ. Glad I made the decision to not work here and will probably never bring my buisness in to their locations.
Headline: Get the Reuben!
It's a thing in Utah that you have to declare if you are a bar or a restaurant. If the former, even though it looks like a restaurant, nobody under 21 gets in. This fact caused me to change dinner plans since I had some minors in my party and I am glad to have found Sqatters Pub (a restaurant). The low grav beer messes with the flavor, too bad. But the service is fantastic and I am happy to report that I just had the best Reuben sandwich of my life. Locally sourced beef pastrami that is from a brisket cut and smoked as well as peppered. It is like meat cotton candy goodness. Perfect marbled rye bread and proportion of sauerkraut to meat.
Super nice, good food and family friendly. Reasonable prices, and super nice staff.
Good food, good beer, I would not recommend eating on the patio. There are a lot of flys!
It had been several years since I visited, and I had always sat at the bar in the past, so perhaps my memory of 5 star quality is biasing me. 4 stars for an ok experience and knowing they're capable of more. Consider eating outside; the restaurant can be a bit loud.
I've been twice and both times food was bland. Veggie burger and fish chips had no flavor. Service is hit and miss.
At times the wait can be long, wait it out! The beer and food is worth it! Bourbon burger is my go to! Jambalaya is all good! Thai Yellow Curry is a solid choice too! Be sure to get desert the bread pudding is soooo good!
Nice venue, good size, but was understaffed when we walked in. Plenty of open tables, but was told would be a 10-15 minutes wait because the servers couldn't handle any more. Got a spot at the bar instead. Beer wasn't bad - I didn't particularly like mine, but another person's was pretty good. Food looked good, but didn't get any.
Food is actually better than the beer and reasonably priced. Despite approval long wait to get a table, service better than average. Busy place.
Not a lot of breweries in the state of Utah compared to my home state of Minnesota and while I don't need alcohol to have a good time, crafting a solid beer is still a must. Unfortunately for the state of Utah, the breweries that do exist have boring, bland, watered down crafts that just aren't that enjoyable. Hopefully that changes and hopefully I find something worth enjoying.
My experience started with MOAB's creations while up in Park City at the 501 on Main and it continued with the creations coming out of Squatters. I wanted to order a flight of each of them, but Utah doesn't allow it. I know, it's a travesty! But, I can make due... I took 2 tiny little samples - their Hefe and their Golden Ale. Once again, water! Well, let's see if the food is any good - I went for the Straight Up Mac n' Cheese with grilled chicken, while my wife went for their Taco Salad.
My wife's salad came out looking kind of cool and different with a giant soft-shell tortilla inside a large bowl and everything piled inside to make the dish. After mixing up the ingredients - Niman Ranch beef or shredded pork (my wife went with beef), romaine, black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, jack and cheddar, queso fresco, rice and served with cilantro lime dressing or salsa, my wife wasn't looking all that pleased. The rice alone was hard enough to crack teeth, so she stayed clear of that and eventually just pushed her salad off to the side.
As for my Mac and grilled chicken, well, I would eat the Mac n' Cheese from KFC before I went back for the watered-down version created at Squatters. Again, this trend of things being bland, boring and watered-down with very little flavor. I finished what I could stomach and like my wife, pushed the rest aside and finished my water, I mean beer.
A group of 4 ladies and fellow Essential Oilers sat next to us and one of them ordered the Taco Salad as well. We quickly got their attention and told them to reconsider their selection. Might want to learn how to cook rice first before serving it!
So, will this trend of bland, boring and watered-down continue for the rest of our trip? I hope not, but so far that's exactly what it has been.
#knowbeforeyougo
Service is kind of slow, but I understood because they were busy. People behind us had much slower service than we did, and got aggravated. The beer here is pretty good, but the burger I had was very bland. The meat had almost no seasoning, and the bun was pretty much toast. The cheese curds were pretty good though. Great place for drinks, not so much for food.
This place is terrible. We came at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon when the restaurant was only 25% full. There was standing room only at the bar so we asked to bring our drinks out to the patio, which was not allowed. Instead, we asked to sit at one of the 15 open tables in the back room. They said no because those tables were reserved for the "wait list" even though the restaurant was empty. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Gracie's.
Had the breakfast with my daughter, loved the roadhouse skillet and scones. Excellent service.
Really nice place. Good beer and good food. Fast service and waiters so gentle.
The food is excellent. The beer is alright. I know there are some odd Utah alcohol laws, so the beer being slightly off has something to do with that.
Regardless, I try to make my way here every time I go to Salt Lake
The service is impecable. The food is amazing. I recomend the bacon topped meat loaf. I will be back for more.
Great beer, cold Sunday 6 packs Togo, and above average pub food.
Nachos were decent, beer was average, service was poor on a slow morning. Forgot our drinks both times we ordered, brought wrong drinks and still charged.
I sat in the bar area by myself and had Paul as my server. Food and beer were great, wing sauce was top notch but service was lacking a lot. I left Paul 20% because it's COVID and he deserves that just for showing up, but slow to get my orders, no check back and no clearing of the table. All of my dirty dishes are still on my table as I write this as are all of the empty tables around me. And the place is empty. I'm not picky, but he's literally watching the Lakers game behind me... Too bad because everyone else seemed nice as hell. paul just didn't seem to want anything to do with me.
Great beers! Awesome food and friendly staff. The carnitas are fantastic. I have had several dishes here and have never been disappointed. The curry is delicious and the recommended beer pairings are excellent.
Love most of Squatter's beer! The cheese artichoke dip was amazing, highly recommend. The linguine pasta was amazing as well. Was not impressed by the spinach and quinoa salad, however.
Great brew pub. Fun and vibrant. Service was friendly and prompt. Menu selections were extensive and great for a brew pub. Beer selection was wide ranging. My wife and I enjoyed Squatters very much.
Coming out of state to visit SLC and surprised to learn that beer here capped at 5% abv. However it worked out since the lower ABV made the flavor come out so well! Get a beer flight and the Nachos with pork I promise you won t regret!
Murdock was also a great server and had great knowledge on the beers. Memorable name too.
Excellent beer options and good pub food in a great atmosphere!
What a great atmosphere with good tasting beers and the Hawaiian pizza was delicious! First day in SLC and it started on a great note! Thanks!
We had the shrimp linguine with asparagus, roasted tomatoes & a super white sauce. The best pasta I've ever tasted. Loved the atmosphere as well. One night in the Loft & one outside with a fine mist being sprayed over us, very cooling. Excellent. The card with Squatters at the airport listed on it should say that it's AIRSIDE. We took the car back to rental returns & went to eat there, only to find that we couldn't get to it unless we were flying out, which we weren't until early the next morning.
Today we came in to squatters for lunch. They had the best service and food was great! Before leaving we saw these cute ugly sweaters but we couldn t see my husbands size. The hostess Megan was so kind and helpful she went and found the size needed. Will definitely be coming back!
Amazing beer!!!!! I love the food. No idea why anyone is complaining at all. Overpriced but very good food. Love it all around
Great ambience, wonderful service, a metropolitan vibe and the food was great. I couldn't be more happy with the experience.
Squatters Bourbon burger was the best! Good food, atmosphere, and service.
The ambient is amazing, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is pleasant and the customer service is impressive!
Great food ..ahi spring roll salad !!!!..And of course, great brews as well
Service was good, but most of the food was... disappointing.
We got the cheese curds and calamari to start, bourbon burger, and "locals only" pizza as entrees, and molten lava cake for dessert.
Cheese curds: Good. Tasty, hot, seasoned well, nice sauce to go with it.
Calamari: Pretty good crispy, well seasoned, seemed pretty fresh.
Bourbon burger: Not very good. Bun was dry (maybe stale?), beef was under seasoned, kind of plain.
Locals only pizza: Not very good. The local cheese and calabrese on the pizza were very tasty, but the mushrooms were plain, and the crust wasn't flavorful at all; no ferment in the dough, barely any salt, and very "cracker-y"
Molten lava cake: Awful. I feel like the snobby food critic from the movie "Chef" as I write this review on the molten lava cake, but this cake really was just bad...
The cake's texture was very spongy and odd, had a strange aftertaste, and wasn't really molten. The chocolate used wasn't good, and overall, the cake was inedible.
I spent almost $60 on dinner for two, and left very disappointed in my meal.
I fell in love with the Mediterranean Pizza (best pizza I have ever had hands down) and they discontinued it :'( We are seriously devastated - PLEASE bring back the Mediterranean!!!!
We had a large party there. They were able to accommodate us very well. There service was great. The food was very good. The staff was very helpful.
