brilliant day out! booked online couple of days before (no email confirmation tho).
arrived just after 10 for the 10-11 wave. started easy and worked up to the severe flumes!
after 5hrs, and a lot of rides and queueing, we were shattered and called it a day.
v v busy place, but great fun. queues were 15-30mins per flume, (would really benefit from a waiting times display to help decide which flume to go down next/balance the queues).
Having read reviews before going, we DID see attendants looking after the changing rooms and squeegying the floors.
It seemed tho, that Splashdown could do with a lick of paint and refurb. I'd imagine the reviews would improve a lot if this was done.
We'd def return tho. great fun day out.

Was only half open...took my 21 yo son my 20 yo son and my 9yo daughter....cheap fun...I was the only one to do the vortex...!!! =)) my only issue is changing rooms!!!!!!! You wait forever for a room...also the showers...but hey we still enjoyed our time =)

Two words.. disgusting and chaotic!

Two words.. disgusting and chaotic!
I can't be bothered to moan because I'll be writing an essay, this place is NOT young baby/toddler friendly (unless you want to climb 2 flights of wet stairs, whilst trying to bypass people with massive rings waiting for the flumes to the splash area which is hardly lifeguarded and full of older children anyway.
The changing rooms are filthy and rubbish family/changing facilities
Parking is a nightmare.
Avoid.

Is good

Been there before and considered going for a Birthday Treat, But ended up going somewhere else. It was said to be dangerous and slides are quite difficult to get on due to lines.Lines up to an hour Long and all were very run down as was everywhere. Flumes/rings were slipping off people causing burns due to friction on slides.100% would not recommend

PLEASE READ !!
Before going to splashdown I read loads of reviews that said 'bad parking, not many spaces' and 'it was disgusting and dirty'. No, this is not true! Right next door to splashdown is a massive tescos, so even if you do have trouble parking (which we didn't, there was loads of spaces) you could find one in tescos.. Also splashdown itself was not dirty or disgusting, it's a huge place and obviously that is hard to keep 100% clean at all times, but I didn't once think it was unclean, and I am a clean freak!

The day out itself was fantastic! I went with my boyfriend and we had an amazing time! This attraction is deffo worth visiting!

Unsuitable for toddlers!

Basically unless you have 10 year olds that would be crazy about flumes do not go there.

Lots of fun slides, good for children and young adults, but appallingly basic and dirty changing rooms and the entire place could do with a deep clean. Additionally despite paying to get in charges for use of the hairdryer. There's also a new traffic light system that seems to make the queues progress much slower, but I guess lights are cheaper than trained staff.

Very fun place, 13 water slides of different kinds, great for kids and adults, not to crowded on an August weekday, note that there isn't too much place to sit around and spectators area might get busy.

I think the kids had a lovely time in the pool and the prices for 3 hours (only avaliable option after 10 o'clock) I just find it bad that spectators have to pay a fiver each to sit on hard uncomfortable chairs for 3 hours. This should be free surely????

Mostly only for the bigger kids who can swim and are brave enough - most of the flumes are 'fast' or 'severe' with hardly anything for the less speed-inclined. The 'severe' rides are very fast, sometimes totally dark. The 'infinity' is particularly entertaining - launching you into a large circular bowl with a hole in the middle that dumps you head-first into a deep tank below!

Kids love it. Spend hours having fun. Don't like the watch price ticket to be honest. We are the parents bringing the children to the venue to be unfairly charged. Without the parents to travel so far the venue would not exist.

We had a lovely day out at this water park. We arrived a bit late because of the traffic but the staff are nice and very friendly, the water was warm. Good for all ages. I recommend.

I took my 5 year old son here and we had a fantastic time. As it was winter, the outdoor slides were closed, but there were ample indoor stuff to occupy my son and I. My son surprised me and he went on every slide and loved them all - although he is a strong swimmer for his age, so a weaker swimmer may find one or two slides a bit difficult. Seemed to be enough life guards about the place (not loads, but just enough). There is no actual swimming pool (except from toddlers and smaller children pool) which surprised me, but in the end it turned out not to be a problem. I did not see any clock around the place until late afternoon, when I realised my son and I had been in the place for over 4 hours! We went on each ride one more time and in all spent over 5 hours. My son and I loved it, we drove 80 miles to get there and 80 to get back, a long drive but, oh so worth it. my advice is get the day pass and make a day of it. So glad I found this place!

First time back in 20 years with my 7 year old son as an excuse to come back!! 20 years ago a wasn't so knackered after two hours of walking up steps!! Felt in in my legs for a few days after! We both really enjoyed ourselves and will Def come back again.

Overall pretty good but not perfect.

Overall pretty good but not perfect.

We went the first day it was opened after several months refurbishment and I honestly didn't see what had changed.
I last went at least 10 years ago and it was exactly the same. The changing rooms and lockers are packed in which means there is very little space to move around.
There was only 1 shower that worked properly (just about) and the rest either trickled or did nothing.
The tag system didn't work for most of the day so we were being told to go down the slide by, I presume, physcic staff as there were no screens to look at.
I was shouted at for not having a rubber ring while assisting my autistic nephew on the Mississippi drifter and yet while we were in the Jacuzzi area there were a group of boys trying to drown each other and no one told them off.
The bubble benches no longer work which was one of my favourite things to do when feeling tired.
The queues were horrendous and poorly organised. The staff seemed extremely bored and uninterested. It also felt like there were too many people there.
I witnessed a member of staff panic when a child was presented to them with a nose bleed. Instead of using her radio she just stuttered at the parent and eventually told him to go and find someone on the front desk. His child left a blood trail which wasn't cleaned up.
We had to queue for 20 minutes to get our deposit back. Then they ran out of change.
That said we had 4 hours of fun and I would like to go again. Maybe not on a Saturday though.

I think this place is amazing but not for the inexperienced. Dangerous in places for those that can't swim. There was in incident where my 5yo daughter came off the ring and was under the water (deeper than her height) next to a lifeguard/member of staff who didn't notice. Luckily I saw her and was able to get to her in time. I dread to think what would have happened if it happened on a different part of the ride where I could have not seen her. I'm surprised nothing terrible has happened. More warnings and restrictions needed. Other wise wow! What a fun place to go

Staff show a 'don't care' attitude.Although at the reception, they said there is staff to guide u if needed,no staff inside to ask anything. Some one splashed water at a lady and when she complained after she felt suffocated, staff did not bother to care. There is no guarantee this is a safe place if staff are there but no help in danger.Avoid at all cost!

Visited the park with my 5 years old son who had red been really looking forward to it. However , children aren't allowed to sit on your lap and there are no slides for the little ones we had a boring long 2 hours. The little swiming pool was shut when we arrived , later on i noticed you had to ask a member of statt if you wanted to go in . Then, since it was just the two of us in the little pool it just felt akward as the employee seemed bored and not wanting to be there.
Also, I left my bank card in the car and took enough cash for the admisson fee and some food,. That did not happen as you need to pay deposit for the wrist bands what you obviously get back on leaving but because of it I could not even buy food or drinks. Anyway, with small childred i would not recommend it but if your kids are brave enough to go down the flumes on thier own then it will be great fun.

Absolutely amazing place. First time taking my 7yr old to a water park. Okay so the main pool was small but we still had fun playing with the floats. Flumes were great and no queues. We did go at the quieter time of 5pm and used our full 4hrs. Must be good as my child gets bored after 30mjns

Book in advance is strongly recommended, very busy, lots of slides and separate pools, eating area there, as you can guess because it's very busy it's not the cleanest in the changing rooms but there is always a member of staff constantly cleaning them! Would go again! Cheap for the entire family good half a day out!!

Admittedly we went on a rainy bank holiday weekend, but it was extremely busy so queuing times were very long. Other than that, it offered things for children of all ages however it is a bit tired in places and there seemed to be an awful lot of debris in the pools - felt like it needed a deep clean. Considering how busy it was the attendants were polite and did a good job.

Generally great site, but a few things to be improved on... Sometimes the lifeguards seem to be far and few between for the number of users. There should be shelter between the indoor and outdoor rides. Being soaking wet with a chill going outside can be a horrible experience if you're queueing for 5 minutes before getting back into the water.

It was great fun, enjoyed it. Only downfall is that the showers are not private, there is one area for everyone where to take a shower so it's quite 'public'. Changing area also felt crumped. Don't remember seeing any hairdryer either but maybe I just didn't explore it fully.

It's a great place to for kids of all ages, I would recommend planning the a full day there as there are longs queues. Or plan to start early or late.
Good services, changing and shower facilities.
