Spa On The Avenue Review

I have gone to Spa on the Avenue many times and I was always pleased with the way my hair looked when I walked out of there. The hair stylist(Athena) was fantastic and was always a pleasure to go to. She makes you feel welcomed and will listen to everything you say about what you want done to your hair and will make great recommendations. If something won't look right or the colors won't go well together she will tell you too:) I would recommend her to anyone that would go there!!!!!! WITH THAT BEING SAID....I highly dislike the staff at the receptionist desk. I have never felt welcomed by them and they make you feel like you are "putting them out" if you call or come in and ask a question. They are always too busy to help you and give you the feel that they are "exhausted" when they finally help you. This was not my experience with one person nor one experience, this happened with multiple staff members at the front desk and many times. I honestly cannot say that I have every received great customer service from the staff. The disrespect that I received when I was returning a call that I got from them was completely unnecessary and rude. When the girl called back and left a message, she rushed through the whole message and was not friendly at all. When I talked to her I would have expected her to be professional not to say, "I don't get what you are calling about" or "Why do you have to come in that late, you can't get here sooner?" It is sad that a FANTASTIC hairstylist has to be in the shadow of the the disrespectful front desk staff that is booking her appointments. After all, they are the face of the company and I would expect the face of the company to be pretty!

Had massage with Kimberly to help with physical therapy treatments. Kimberly is excellent and found all my trigger points n worked them out. Felt so much better after massage. Already have appt to see her again to help me heal faster.

Customer service on call in very poor.
Wanted to buy 105.00 gift card for family member and have a email sent to inform her there was a gift . Was told that they would just put it on file............
If it wasn't for being the place she want, I wouldn't ever use them.

The trip today ruined my previously good experiences at the Spa on the Avenue- I will NEVER go back there. Had Rosita as a hairdresser- was brusque, rude and had a generally bad attitude. I made an appointment to perm my hair (done every year or so), but the hairdresser was reluctant to even do it and oddly enough told me that a "perm was out of style" to talk me out of it. I was told over the phone that perms are 85.00, but was informed by Rosita the perm that day would be 220 instead. Was unnecessarily rough and kept on pulling strands out. Worst yet, she ignored the fact that I told her to not yank my hair so hard. I walked out and will NOT RETURN even after being offered a discount.

Jess B. is the best esthetician ever!! I have had many waxes & facials done by her and she rocks!! Pain free!! I have referred many people to her & they all come back saying how wonderful she is :)

Very professional staff. Great ambiance. Reasonable massage prices.

Went for the first time today on a recommendation. I wanted to cut 6in of my hair and totally have a new style which is pretty bold for never visiting this salon. I was in and out in under an hour and I love my cut.
She did exactly what I asked for as well as making suggestions...what every person needs since we are not the experts.
Stevie was great and I will continue to go back. Wasn't as pricy or cheaper than some of the other salons I have visited, but they were worth every penny.

I had a great massage yesterday from Justin. Just what I needed to relax and forget about life for a bit.

10/01/2012 My former hair stylist retired after 35 years of services. I was at a loss as to where to go and who to trust with my hair. I had been visiting the Spa on the Avenue for years for pedicures and manicures. Carol was recommended to me upon request. I can't speak highly enough about the service she performs. On the very first visit, she listened to my fears about trying someone new, made suggestions and made a slam dunk with the results. I have been using Carol for a year now and have never been disappointed. She has exceeded my expectations in hair style, color and amazingly the technique in the cut to let my hair grow to a longer length, something I have not been able to do in ten years. Quality service, friendly and very experienced. Thank you Carol for a wonderful job. I call her the pilot, tell her she is in control....she knows what is best. Lori

I made an appointment on a whim for a massage and saw Danielle. I have really bad anxiety and therefore muscle tension and she did an amazing job, I haven't felt this relaxed in quite some time. I will absolutely be back.

just wanted to post here company has a nice website however I'd like to report that my experience wasn't quite as nice as the image they portray if I were you I'd pass and go to another location

I'm pregnant and I'm going through a lot of stuff like moving out of the house I'm 6 months pregnant I go there for prenatal massage instead I feel like I got a facial massage with a little bit of back rub and leg rubs I have so much oil all over me it's making me feel nauseous and angry and like I haven't taking a shower my hair looks so greasy I really don't feel like I'm taking a shower and this is supposed to make me feel better if I could do today over I would absolutely not spend $100 for massage that my daughter could do at 8 years old giving me the same results she used three different smells on me of oil you're pregnant and you're using that much different smells hello we get sick from smells common sense says don't put spearmint with lavender or least that's what I smell on me freaking nauseous and I have a headache thanks a lot the Avenue sucks I wouldn't go there if I only had to pay half as much as I pay over at the Boulevard unfortunately the boulevard cost just as much and you get far far more the pillows are more comfortable you get to relax in a room before you even go in to get your massage a room that has gentle music has very little smell I really wish I didn't waste my hundred dollars on these Avenue people I feel as though I got a facial massage instead of a prenatal

I had the pleasure of getting waxed by Rachel. She s so sweet and genuine. I really appreciate how she constantly asked me if i was comfortable and made sure to answer any questions that i had. She also made sure that I knew how to properly do the aftercare for my brazilian. This was my first brazilian and she managed to make me feel super comfortable The environment was super clean and friendly. I will definitely be coming back!

Paid for a one-hour deep tissue massage, received a very poor massage that lasted only 45 minutes. Would never recommend.

I received a gift certificate for the Spa On The Avenue and used it to get a mani and pedi for a trip to Cancun. Both ladies who did my nails (gel) and feet were very nice and pleasant. Two days later I left for Cancun and my nails looked great. After a day and a half in Cancun both my gel nails and feet faded. It looked horrible considering I picked bright Pink and it turned to a pale beige. Other women who had gel on their nails kept their color and shine just as if it was just done. Their feet were the same way.

I called the Spa when I got home and explained my story to the person who answered the phone. She was very nice and wrote down everything and said she would pass the message to the Department Manager who would call me back. That was Thursday the 16th and have not heard from the Spa.

Had they called me back and offered to redo my nails and feet, I would have gone back and also I needed to buy a gift certificate. I went back to my "chop shop" so they called it and received a great mani gel in bright prink. I also bought a gift certificate there. Much less money!!!!

I would not have given them 1 star but you had to in order to post. Very poor customer service.

I love the remodel. Everything looks great. Staff is friendly and great. My girl Lisa has been keeping me looking fly for year's. She kills it when it comes to the technique of hair cutting!!!!!

I have always been going here for spa treatments.....NEVER had a problem with any service. They have always been outstanding. BUT my only problem is the staff that works at the front desk.On my last visit which was 10/7/2014. The lady who check me out was RUDE and never answered my question to why my gift card would not work.
I have emailed and even faxed the company to ask why my gift card would not work. STILL a week later no reply/answer.
I really hope my next trip I don't have the same experience.

I've been going to Spa On the Avenue for years, having many different types of services. Everyone has always been friendly and overall each service has been enjoyable. My regular visits to this spa is for hair services that I always have done by Kelly. She does an excellent job. She takes her time, I never feel rushed, and she always does just what I ask her to do. She's also really great with giving advice on how to take better care of my hair and products that would help. I've gotten hooked on some products she has introduced me to which are also, so conveniently, sold right there at the spa!!

Got a blow out. Spent $50 and an hour and a half there. When all was said and done, I had 2 curls and my hair laid flat on my head. There was no body. I had to go back home shower and blow dry my hair all over again. They need to stick to the spa only because this isn t my first hair disaster at one of their locations.

Rachel J did my eyebrows tonight and they are absolutely perfect!! She was super sweet and professional and kept me informed about what she was doing through the entire process I couldn t be happier

I have been here twice and I've had great experiences both times! A few months ago I got a massage from Kimberly... And she was incredible! She listened to my needs and did a wonderful job. Recently I went for a pedicure and it was great! Kelly was amazing. She was super professional and I left with incredibly smooth feet and a very well done polishing. Highly recommend!

I have been going to the spa on the boulevard for 8 years was called the morning of my manicure the manicurist called out which is ok made a appointment at the avenue but they wanted my credit card to hold appointment very sad but will find new place to do business

Elaine always does an excellent job when waxing my eyebrows. I discovered Spa on the Ave after many years of having uneven or bare brows due to bad waxers at those shopping center nail places. Now, I only let Elaine touch my eyebrows.

I heard good things about this spa when I moved to the area. I went first for a Hot Stone Pedicure. Even though it was 50 bucks, it wasn't any better than a regular pedicure. Willing to try again, I returned for a hair cut and color. I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't "wowwed" by the service either. Afterwards, I had a brow wax. The esthetician wasn't prompt (she kept me waiting for almost 15 minutes), and then when she was done she handed me the mirror almost as an afterthought (she should have asked if I liked the way she shaped my brows). When I expressed concern about a few stray hairs, she begrudgingly plucked them and sent me on my way. I didn't even get a chance to tell her that I wanted the tops of my brows waxed, too! I probably won't go back. Oh, and the tipping there is very confusing.

I've been to this spa multiple times over the years and they never disappoint! They have redone the place and it is gorgeous. Prompt service, friendly staff and clean environment as always. I will be back!

I made an appointment for my wife an I to get a facial. My wife has never had one and was extremely skeptical, but Barbara made her feel at ease right away. She was very patient, and very knowledgeable about the products and services. Now my wife wants to get facials on a regular basis, and even booked an appointment for a dermatolical facial in 2 weeks! We were happy with our results, and look forward to coming back!

Cassidy Reeves is my favorite! I come in angry and tense and walk out floating on cotton candy clouds. I totally recommend her and Spa on the Avenue. It's a little more expensive than the closest competitors, but well worth the cost.

What a disappointing experience and an expensive ($150) lesson to learn. Skip the Dermalogica peel. It didn't work and I was told it was because I had such lovely skin (not). When I complained the charming person on the phone READ the brochure to me. I had never seen this brochure as I called for an appointment. As a first time experience, it was my last. I'll tell everyone I know. It would have been cheaper if they'd given me the refund I requested.

My husband and I both see Joyce once a month for deep tissue massages. He and i both have physically demanding careers and Joyce has been a godsend for us. We both struggled for the longest time finding a massage therapist that wasn't afraid of really dealing with deep knots and we are so thankful to have found her. After my first session with her I was able to stand totally straight for the first time in years, and I haven't gone to anyone else since.

This place is beautiful and the girl who did my facial was the absolute most sweetest little cinnamon bun named Jessica

I have been coming here since January for pedicures and seeing the same manicurist. This month I learned she no longer worked there and I was given someone new. When I arrived, I learned the schedule had been changed and I was now with a completely different person. This person was 10 minutes late for our appointment. She could have been running behind, which was fine, but the front desk should have informed me of this. I found it odd that all the foot tubs were prefilled, this had not happened the other times I was there. The water was Luke-warm at best. The service was fair though the manicurist was pleasant. My main complaint is how short my nails were cut. It is extreme to the point they actually hurt today. I will not return here. I had an appointment for a facial and have canceled this as well. This experience has soured me on the entire place.

I have had facials by Kate Morris and she does an awesome job. I have had many facials by others at other places and they can not come close to the facials she have performed!

I visited the spa on the avenue this week for a deep tissue massage. Justin did a great job and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good sports massage!

Not a great experience, came in for a couples massage, arrived early to use their serenity lounge, was asked to sit in a chair and wait. Our Massage therapist retrieved us at promptly 1pm... There is no serenity lounge, there is no locker room, no robes... It is not a SPA , it is a hair salon that happens to do massages in a back room... Husband had his massage done by Cassidy, he really enjoyed it. Mine was done by Gina, it was not great, it was barely good, she did not listen to my wants or needs, so I'm a little confused as to why she even asked... It was like she has a routine, and she can't break from it, she didn't use firm pressure where I asked, and the massage was just not worth it. The charge 15 dollars more per person for a couples massage, which is odd, there is nothing more special about it... Not sure why they advertise things they do not offer. Can't get return call to talk to someone either... Finally spoke to someone and was basically told sorry for your luck , although she did admit they dont even have a serenity lounge as thier website states... again a hair salon with massages in a back room....

Not worth the money. The front desk is snotty. They almost act as if they are better than you. Got a pedicure there for $45 when I asked for the cheaper one which is $35! Not worth $45 at all!!! What the lady did on my pedicure I can get done at a nail salon for

I've gone here for 2 Mani/pedis and a massage. Nice workers, but wasn't blown away by the service (especially for the price). I left feeling underwhelmed.

I had a pedicure from Becky T.on Tuesday, Oct. 2nd. It was an enjoyable experience.. Becky is a very capable, attentive, experienced technician. I highly recommed her.

I got my hair cut by Karen Brennan 2 days ago. I've been going to her for years because she is absolutely awesome! I only have to give her a brief description of what I want done to my hair and she does it great every time! Love her!

Poor Customer Service!! I have visited Debbie's Salons for years at various locations. I have settled in at the avenue with one particular Manicurist. This individual is no longer with the company. I would think a simple call to inform me my appointment was changed would be the professional way to handle the situation. .....When I pay my money...you (spa on the avenue) do not get to decide my service....#looking for a new salon!

I have been seeing a stylist Julie B there for many years. She usually does a great job. But had a recent haircut and she literally butchered my hair. Wi not be returning for any future services.

I finally found the place that know how to cut the hairstyle I want,for a really good price.i have highlight and haircut for only 180 very affordable compared to the other salon.Ms.Cat did my hair.she was really nice and she make sure I am ok and comfy and making sure I am satisfied.and I was.i really loved my hair..i even felt really bad coz I only tip her 25dollar which I know she deserved more.Ms. Cat if ever you seen this I am sorry I do not have anymore extra that day ..but I do recommend this place they are all nice

Brought a gift card here for my brother because of his severe backache. Boyyyy...was he impressed. The massage gave him great comfort. My brother is very picky and even he gave them a big thumbs-up. Very professional staff/team.

I get my eyelash extensions here. I have always been pleased with the results and their attention to detail. They are always accommodating and pleasant. My natural eyelashes have been getting sparse over the years, so I don't know what I would do without them!

I am extremely particular about the way that my hair is cut. Athena does an awesome job! I have been going to her for several months. She listens and is knowledgeable about her craft. I love that it is very easy to schedule appointments at Spa on the Avenue and that they have Sunday and evening hours. Staff are friendly and helpful. Relax and Enjoy!!!

I had Massage Therapy today to de-stress for my Wedding Rehearsal tonight. The Massage Therapist assigned to me was Bex she was phenomenal in all aspects of the world. I feel blessed to have met such a genuine kind person. She made me feel welcomed which made my first visit to Spa on the Avenue remarkable.

I had my hair colored and cut at Spa on the Avenue by Traci..It looks Great. My hair had a fair amount of damage, but Traci worked her Magic and made it look fabulous.

I was here on 10/27/2017 for the last time. I have been a customer of Spa on the Avenue and Spa in the Valley for several years. I specifically request Dermologica Facials for the foot touch therapy. The last 3 visits I have not received it. 60 minutes, 90 minutes and Friday's 60 minutes.
Each time I was assured complete service. Friday, 10/27/17, I had an informative esthetician, Carol. She explained to me that there is not foot touch therapy unless it is 90 minutes. She agreed to do it this one and only time. I changed my mind during the service. When I was able to look up the website after I left, it clearly states foot touch therapy 45, 60 and 90 minutes. If such services have changed update your site. I am truly disappointed in this company.

Received a 45 min facial with Barb S. who truly did an amazing job. Asked about my concerns and walked me through how she addressed them along with what products she used. Even gave me samples to continue to use before purchasing. I highly recommend her for all your skin needs. Incredibly knowledgeable about products used, plus it was very relaxing

Had an appointment this morning at 10AM for a full highlight. I called ahead of time and let them know that I would be running 15 minutes late. The receptionist on the phone let me know that it would be fine.
I pull into the parking lot at twenty after and as I m getting out of my car to walk inside the salon, they call me to tell me that I have to reschedule because I m late, but since I m already there that I can walk inside to reschedule. Nah, I m going to be going to a stylist that my co-worker recommended. Her name is Kat Hirrel & she specializes in blondes. Check her out!
If they would ve told me over the phone that it wasn t going to be okay that I was running late, I would ve happily rescheduled. I m an easygoing person and it was my fault that I was running behind. I understand that it would ve put my stylist behind for the rest of the day. But instead of doing this, they had me drive all the way there only to tell me that I had to reschedule. This is completely unprofessional and now they ve lost a returning client. Not to mention I tipped very well when I had my hair done a few weeks prior.
I m upset - I had been looking forward to this appointment because I m in the process of going blonde. It s unfortunate because my experience there for my first appointment went very well and I was happy with my stylist. Oh well.
