A really great zoo on a beautiful property! There are some nice surprises for a first-timer such as being able to walk side-by-side with fallow deer and feed them corn from your hand as well as the opportunity to see rhinoceros, a white tiger as well as a yellow one and a pair of lions! I think the nicest surprise was that they had a real restaurant right on the property! We are new to the area and are sure to return several times this summer!

I loved Southwick's. Haven't been in a decade. The animals still have life in their eyes, that wild look you don't get at most zoos (lifeless, dead inside, walking same paths aimlessly)

Okay selection of animals and activities, the park is not very wheelchair accessible, the terrain is very bumpy and steep in a lot of places and most of the activities are not wheelchair accessible because of the flooring. They do have electric carts that you can rent for a fee.

Great experience however noticed some of the goats in the petting zoo were bleeding from their rectum and had extreme dry skin... Maybe tend to them a little more so they can at least look healthy. Aside of that we had a great time and all other animals looked to be in good health.

Nice zoo, easily found and not overpriced food (for a zoo anyways), and not too far from Boston. My one worry is that it is not accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, while other options are closer. Overall, however, it is a very nice and recommended zoo.

Love coming to Southwick's every year. They have so many animals, including Rhinos which are so cool to see! The whole park is surrounded by a forest which is great in the hot summers. It's so nice walking around seeing the animals and feeling like you're walking through a forest something I wish Roger Williams had more of. They also have a large Deer Forest that you can walk around feeding the deer and just enjoying nature. That also surprisingly good food there and we love love love the Sky Gondola ride!

I don't like zoos as a rule but I understand that there is a need to save endangered species. This was a nice clean well maintained one. The staff was going around keeping the animals enclosure clean and refreshing the water and at times misting the animals.

Great place!! Staff is friendly, the animals look to be overall very happy, and the best part was the giraffe encounters!! The zoo was very clean. I have to say, we drove 3 hours for the giraffe encounters and it was totally worth it!! Definitely going to come back in the future :) just make sure to get there by 10 to get tickets to the giraffe encounters if that's what you're going there for!! They only have 12 spots per feeding, which makes sense. Words can't fully describe how awesome Southwick's Zoo is!!

This zoo is the best around. You are close enough to most of the animals even small children can see them! They have a big variety of food options but you can bring your own if you want. There are rides but if you want to avoid them, you can. The train ride is a must although you may not see much some days. It's a small fee and kids love it. I've always loved this zoo, even as a child and now I bring my own!

This zoo has so many cool animals, from giraffes to unique birds. Some animals were already removed for the winter. There is also a part of the zoo that you can feed the deer. Most are babies, they walk freely all around you. Monkeys , pigs, and goats. Again for the goats, you can go into the gates and feed them , several will come up to you peacefully. There is a ride you can also take to be above the zoo, and see everything below you. Best time to visit, when it's warm weather.

Really nice zoo with a huge variety of animals. Brought my 2 year old here and she had a lot of fun, especially on the pony ride and the deer forest. Once she's old enough she can do the skyfari and zip lines that looked like a lot of fun. We'll definitely be going back.

Great small zoo.

Great small zoo.
They have plenty of animals, well laid out and enclosures seemed clean and we'll maintained.
Reasonably priced food, and a hidden gem of a sit down restaurant.

This is my favorite zoo. I have been going to this zoo for over 30 years. When we come to visit from Florida my children have enjoyed all the animals. Years ago you could feed the animals and I fell in love with the giraffes. Todat they are still the most fascinating animals. The changes that has been made over the years makes the zoo even better.

This place is fantastic for kids. It's big enough you won't get bored with a day trip but it's small enough where you can walk around the whole thing in one day if you really want to. My personal favorite is the deer section where you can feed the deer, you have to purchase the food within the park at a very reasonable cost. I also enjoyed other animal interaction areas with the birds and the goats. My kids love the section where the monkey cages are and also the time they get to spend with the giraffes.

Not the best zoo I've ever been to, but it's still a really nice place to send a few hours. They have an awesome deer petting section that allows you to interact and feed some deer...pretty cool

Great experience, too bad parents cant control their own kids, it was great walking with my fiancee but everytime a herd or kids came over the animals would walk away, and pro tip for animal attraction: from what I saw zoo keepers wear dark green

This is a great zoo. I love the deer forest. It makes me feel like Snow White with them flocking toward me. And the goats and pigs both had babies which we could interact with. It was a wonderful experience.

Great zoo. Not too big. Not flat but manageable with a stroller. Kids loved it. Animals are very well kept and healthier than you see at many zoos. No elephants though. There are extra expenses, mechanical rides, pony and camel rides, ect. Bought season pass, will be returning.

What an amazing zoo.

What an amazing zoo.

If anyone is in the area I recommend Southwick Zoo, they really do care for these animals and have such amazing trained and caring staff, it was nice to see all the animals in themed and well maintained enclosures and while I m not a big fan of most Zoos as attractions, Southwick does their best to care for endangered and threatened species that need love and attention.

What a Great place. There is plenty of ample parking. They have programs for the kids in season. Plenty of different types of animals from tortoises to lions and everything in between. They have special animal feeding areas. They have rides that show you the park and also rides for the kids. There are snack bars and even a restaurant/pub. It was alot of fun. Will definitely go back.

One of the best zoos I have been to. My son loves going there and we have been so much he can tell you what animal we are going to see next. If you live around the area a earth membership is a must have. My family has one and it has paid for itself. The nice thing with the membership is if we go later in the afternoon it doesn't feel like we are wasting money because if we don't see everything we can always go back!!!

Really nice Zoo! Didn't expect much and I was very pleasantly surprised! Nice landscape in the woods, with many different species of animals, birds and reptiles. Great size and nice enclosures for all the animals. Many monkeys with many babies! A great place to go for Adults and of course with kids, they will love it. A few activities to do as well, a chair Zipline, a maze and a few others.
Plan at least 3-4 hours to really enjoy it! Food available.
Overall, very well maintained Zoo with Happy Animals. I highly recommend it!

Great place for a day with the kids! We have been going for years. One ask - more misters throughout the park please! It has been so, so hot and that relief would be wonderful! Just great value for your money here....definately visit if u can!

It's a nice, compact private zoo. They are really dedicated to improving the facility to make the animals more comfortable. Many of the birds and primates are rescue pets. If you can, the rhino experience is awesome. Once you pet a rhino, you'll never be able to look at a trophy hung on a wall with anything but sadness.
