Amazing zoo. Loved it! My boyfriend and I spent 5 hours here and could have stayed even longer. The shops are so cute and welcoming. There is a really great selection of merchandise. During the covid-19 pandemic the zoo has done a great job of enforcing social distancing guidelines. We have been here before and will definitely be visiting again! Southwick's is by far my favorite zoo.

This is not San Diego but it is clean and the animals are very healthy. There is a good variety of animals and a lot of the exhibits are modern. Still too many cages for my preference but then I'm a photographer and wire mesh wreaks havoc on my photos. The exhibits with plexiglass could stand a good cleaning too.

Very well set up despite all the craziness of the covid pandemic. They were very well set to handle all the aspects and still make it a memorable day. Will definitely be better once the rest of it opens. The only issues we had were with my wife's handi-cart that we rented there. It got stuck several times because most of the paths are not paved and then also had trouble going uphill on some of the paths even when paved. And the only restaurant in the park that was open wouldn't allow the cart in which seemed odd to me since they rented it out. But overall a great time.

Went to the Winter Wonderland and it more like anti climactic and anti christ.

Pros: train driver slamming on the breaks signaling our much awaited exit, finding the exit , taking a left out of the parking lot.

Cons: Paying 40$ to pet goats

Not recommended for people with children or without children

Rhino Encounters are not to be missed, enjoyed an incredible interaction and visit with Thelma and Louise and am grateful for the opportunity to support this most worthy cause. Staff was the best!

Love this place , Each animal has a decent size area to roam , they have a huge variety of animals that u do not see in most Zoos and the Deer area where u can feed them is the best .

Took our 2.7 year old and 5 year old grandsons to visit the zoo. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the animals and the amount of animals in the zoo. My grandsons loved feeding the goats and enjoyed walking through the deer park. Our visit was during the Covid so the kiddy rides were closed. The price of admission was discounted. We found the restrooms very clean and there were many sanitary product stations available throughout the zoo.
Can t wait to visit with my other grandchildren!

What a jewel!
This privately-owned zoo is a wonderful find for families and anyone who loves to appreciate the beauty and wonder of our animal cousins. Little ones love the deer park, the petting zoo, and especially the train rides. Southwick's Zoo is a must-see!

I love Southwick, grew up near it! Park and attractions are great but on slow days food is HORRIBLE it just sits. My chicken wasn't warm, grilled cheese cold and Hamburg gross only good thing was French fries!

We had a wonderful day! The staff here are so friendly and ready to answer questions. Our favorite parts were the parakeet landing and the deer forest. The deer forest is huge and the animals are very obviously used to humans being in their space. Parakeet landing was so much fun. Those little birds are beautiful and it was fun having them climb all over us. The skyfari ride and the train were both worth the extra money we paid; get the Zoo it All pass if you can! It's worth the money. We will definitely be visiting again!

It's a nice, compact private zoo. They are really dedicated to improving the facility to make the animals more comfortable. Many of the birds and primates are rescue pets. If you can, the rhino experience is awesome. Once you pet a rhino, you'll never be able to look at a trophy hung on a wall with anything but sadness.

If you need to have a family outing then this would be a great place to do so! Easily spend 3+ hours here with all the animals and activities. The main restaurant has good food, I would recommend you eat there and just snack (if you need to) at the many different food shacks on property.

This is by far one of the best zoo's I have ever been to. In my opinion the best in Massachusetts. The ski lift offers unique views of the animals, the train ride brings you through a forest full of elks, the deer forest allows you to walk around and feed wild deer by hand & the new zipline is a fun attraction for kids & adults alike.

Fun private zoo in an unexpected neck of the woods. There's a nice selection of animals that appear well cared for and healthy. Some rides for littler ones and a couple of experiences like the sky ride and camel ride that my 10 year old was into. If one needed to find fault with anything it probably would be the cost which at approx. $30 for entry seems a bit steep but keeping a venue like this running and well kept isn't cheap so it is understandable. All in all an enjoyable place to spend the day.

Surprised by how good of a zoo this is. The selection of animals is quite impressive and you can get pretty close which is great for kids. For all you can see, it s worth the price. You can easily spend a few hours here between seeing the animals and going on the different rides they have.

Brought the tickets morning of the trip and it was super easy. My friend wanted to go here for her birthday and she had a blast. I loved the camel ride, sky ride, and petting zoo. Perfect place for a family trip and kids would love it.

Family owned zoo. Well maintained, clean. Shady with tree lined paths. Permanent Bathrooms were tidy (porta potties) we're also available along the paths. Many picnic tables to eat at if you bring your own food. Many new infant animals so much fun to watch. A little bit more $$ since its privately owned but worth it.

Well maintained. Animals seemed very well cared for and had ample space for comfortable, stress free living. Great job Southwick's Zoo!!! We're definitely going back. You can probably spend the entire day there.

Being new to the area, I didn't know what to expect. This zoo is perfect! If you have children that are 4 to 10, they will have a blast. It is nice for adults and babies, too with lots of shade, sprinklers, food choices, little rides and paths where you can push a stroller. The pace is comfortable. I am used to the zoo in DC and Baltimore, but this one is small with limited animals. You won't see exotic things like white tigers or beluga whales, but you'll see monkeys and kangaroos up pretty close. You can also feed and pet reindeer. They are all active and happy and the zoo is well kept. It is a great place for a family to spend the day but pack lunches because food is gonna cost you.

Great zoo and awesome for kids to explore. If you are bringing a small baby/toddler in a non-rugged stroller be prepared for uneven dirt paths and slight climbs and decents throughout the zoo. There are paved paths but those are close to the entrance and through the central ave of the zoo.

I see why people say this is the best zoo around. Hands down! I did not expect to rise a camel and feed giraffes. The food is pricey, but the options are plenty. My kids had a BLAST. It's definitely a day trip. They have rides too.

Love love love this place. It's by far the best zoo I've been to. Walk through deer forest where you can feed the deer they walk right up to you. Love all the monkeys too!!
Staff is friendly and its totally worth the drive to get there..for me it's a little over an hour, love the scenery on the way up as well. A must try for all ages!!

Brought my daughter for part of vacation and she absolutely loved it! Not only did they have a decent amount of animals but they had a playground for the little kiddos as well! Enjoyed the skyfari with my husband and did the zipline with my sister in law. I honestly think the zipline is outrageously priced for the amount of time you are on it. The camel ride with my daughter was amazing and the people operating it were phenomanal! They even stopped to let my husband take a picture of us! Then my daughter was trying to pet the camel during the ride so when we got off they allowed hwr to pet the camel it was such a wonderful experience if I ever take a trip to mass again I will deff make my way over!

Awesome place!
I had no idea it even existed. My wife and I had a great time walking almost the entire place. Fun rides, good food, incredible employees.
Can t wait to go back at the end of the season.
Well done!!

Southwicks Zoo is always good!
The animals are clearly well taken care of and the staff are friendly and attentive.
The deer forest is a must experience (bring $0.50 in quarters) along with the Parakeet Landing (bring $1)!

Nice place to bring kids. Can be hard to see animals from the car at times, but it was really cool to see some animals up front! The audio tour was helpful to keep us on the right path so download before you go or use soundcloud.
