This is a great zoo. Very close to Providence. Many different and exotic animals and every summer there are always new babies which tells me the animals must be relatively happy. Bigger than Roger Williams Zoo and more interactive areas to get up close and personal and learn things about different species, too. We love the sloths, the lemurs, the tigers and the mandrills.

My favorite zoo on the planet! I love it here. Today was my second time. My girlfriend and I did the Rhino encounter again to donate towards Rhino conservation. What a great experience and cause. Betsy is the owner and an amazing person.

I went here for the christmas light drive through with family, and was super excited that we got to see some deer. They provided music to put on while you drove that linked up with what you were driving by, with signs along the way to ensure you were on the right song for what was coming up. Also went to the part where you walk around, had socially distant santa, trees that light up synchronously with the best of music, food, drinks, and beautiful lights. I hope they do the christmas lights again next year, I will definitely go again.

Beautiful zoo with lots to see and do! Ride a choo-choo train, take a trip around the zoo on the skyline to get a birds eye view of all the animals, feed adorable little parakeets, interact up close and personal with baby goats, feed an abundance of deer in the deer forest, take a camel ride, take a break and visit the playground.. and so much more!! Great deli offering salads, wraps and gluten free options. Other concession stands offering food, snacks and refreshments throughout. Bathrooms were very well kept and spotless! Beautiful giftshop offering clothing, jewelry, stuffed animals, ornaments, magnets and so much more! Staff is friendly and informative. They will answer all your questions about the animals. Drive thru the zoo or walk around on a wide range of terrain (bridges, gravel, concrete, mulch, wood chips etc.) Wear sneakers!! To reiterate...there are small hills and inclines throughout the zoo. This zoo does NOT have completely flat, concrete terrain. Strollers and Wagons available for rent. Masks required. Hand sanitizer stations throughout the entire zoo! This zoo is great for all ages. Great variety of animals from BIRDS (Peacocks, Flamingos, Parakeets, Macaws etc.) WILD CATS (Lions, Tigers, Leopards) MARSUPIALS (Kangaroos, Wallabies)
REPTILES (Snakes, Lizards, Turtles etc.) HUGE variety of MONKEYS!!... and so much more.

They take adequate pre-cautions during the pandemic, as much as could be expected. The zoo is great and really has a lot of interactive parts for kids. We have been to zoos all over (Chicago, Atlanta, Omaha, etc.) And this one ranks up there with the best we've been to. Omaha is one of the best and this is only a few steps down from that. They do a great job! Fun for the whole family!

Winter wonderland night was a bit underwhelming. Far too busy and unorganized. Hour(s) long lines for train ride and Santa. Too many people bumping into one another in the maze. The circus type show in the tent was nice. Just too many people. 3 stars because the zoo itself is great during the normal season.

I fell in LOVE in this zoo.

I fell in LOVE in this zoo.
Everything is so clean. The animals look well taken care off, healthy, with clean surroundings.
The employees were super hands on disinfecting the areas, providing sanitizer for the customer, making sure guidelines were met. Everyone had their mask on.

However, they have very clear intentions of creating a one way traffic throughout the zoo. You can see it on the map online AND the one they provide upon arrival BUT, once you get to there the signs are not very clear and it can be confusing.

Overall a great experience, can't wait to visit again!.

Lots of different animals to see and learn about. Activities throughout the day to learn more about the animals. There are kid specific rides and rides more oriented for adults and kids. The deer forest is very cool to walk through. Bring quarters to get corn from the machine to feed the deer! They love corn! They will come right up to you if they think you have corn for them. Be careful with small children because the larger deer can get aggressive. The small deer are perfect for small children.

Visited the zoo with my son and granddaughter for Father's Day and had an excellent time. Not inexpensive, but a good value. Wide variety of birds and animals, rides for the kids, plenty of snacks and drinks scattered throughout. Excellent show with the parrots, very entertaining and enjoyable. We had a great time.

My parents used to take me and my sister to Southwick zoo when we were little. This is my first time back since then.

This zoo is the best!
It is extremely clean and the animals are well taking care of. The zoo staff is amazing, they are friendly, happy and caring.

If you have never gone to Southwick's Zoo before I highly recommend that you go with your family, friends or even just yourself, because it's a must experience.
