The whole family had a wonderful time. This place kept us entertained the whole day. We saw many endangered species which you don't see many of them in a lot of the zoo. This place is well shaded in many spots, plenty of picnic table (also well shaded) if you brought a cooler in which case you can leave the zoo to get your cooler from your car and come back in to have a picnic inside. Rides are not included if you only bought the general admissions, but you can save money if you know your kids or parents want to do some rides. Then you better off getting the combo pass. I really like this place!!! Two thumbs up!!!

The animals are active and appear healthy and happy. The exhibits are cleverly set up so that visitors can usually see the animals. The train ride goes to a closed section of wetlands preserve and is totally worth the time!

Always a great time. Never too crowded and always clean. Lots of tree coverage for those hot days and even the rainy ones. The animals are always more active on a rainyday. Get there early to see the animal feedings. And check there website for specials.

WE HAD A BLAST HERE!!! My husband, his service dog and I travel the country for his job. And we try to visit all the zoos. Ive been on a billion zoo trips and this was my most favorite trip yet! We went on a gloomy day so there were hardly any people and we visited most of the zoo unaccompanied. The lady at the desk told us that they dont receive many service dog guests. Once we got in the zoo that was very apparent. ALL of the animals held an interest in our dog. It made for a very interactive experience. Though we did not get to visit the parts of the zoo with free roaming animals it was a blast. We want to go back without her to try the hands on experience. 15/10 loved this zoo.

This zoo absoutley takes the prize over Roger Williams Zoo in RI. We came here during our vacation with the 4 kids and it was an instant hit. The zoo grounds are absolutely spotless, the animal exhibits are clean and maintained and best of all a majority of the park is shaded with huge canopies of trees!! It's definitely a little pricier than Roger Williams but this difference in price reflects the overall quality of this great park and your overall experience. A+

I love going there. Been there a bunch of times. This last time they failed to let anyone know before buyiing the food to feed the deer- that it was mating season and all the friendly ones were in a seperate place. My daughter and son were really looking forward to that especially. They were soo bummed out cause the deer that were there didnt come up at all and werent friendly. Which is fine. I wouldnt have gotten them excited about it if i knew. Thats all. Everything else was great!

Staff is friendly, informative, and kid friendly. Sadly, we didnt get to see a cheetah but there were still plenty of cool animals to see. The little petting zoo part with the baby goats was really cute. My 19 month old loved it!

Great zoo with plenty to see, do, and eat! It can be difficult to see everything in one trip, especially if you have kiddos with you, but that's not a complaint. Close free parking as well.

Wonderful private zoo, animals are cared for like their own children. What makes this zoo stand out is the woodland like esthetic. The deer forest and elk area has to be the best attraction in the whole place!

Great experience, too bad parents cant control their own kids, it was great walking with my fiancee but everytime a herd or kids came over the animals would walk away, and pro tip for animal attraction: from what I saw zoo keepers wear dark green

A great park and one of the best zoos in New England. Deceptively large, this sprawling labyrinthine complex has plenty of exhibits, activities, rides, and paths to keep a family more than busy all day.

The layout is fantastic with winding walkable paths taking you from enclosure to enclosure through the different species.

There is a deer forest and a goat pen that encourage you to pet and interact with these animals directly.

There are also a few peacocks that roam the grounds with visitors!

I am usually disappointed by zoos being that many feel more like animal prisons. But, Southwick's feels like an educational conservatory. The enclosures are clean and roomy while an army of staff is constantly milling about taking care of their creatures.

When you're done with the Zoo hop on over to Galliford's restaurant and dine while overlooking the flamingos.

"Lions and tigers and bears, oh my". The paved walkways were wide. The animal enclosures seemed quite ample in size. They adhere to the "You must be This tall to ride" which is for your child's own safety. Large free parking area. Restaurant and deli inside the zoo grounds.

A very nice zoo. Lots of different animals with nice habitats. The only thing that kept me from 5 stars is that the chimps looked unhappy about being stared at. All the other animals looked fine and they all (including the chimps) looked we'll cared for. There is nice viewing of all the animals and lots of places for refreshment or to sit a bit. We'll go there again

We went to this zoo 2 times this week! Once walking through & once on the Zoofari. It was magical each time. The walk through we did we took our time and spent 2.5 hours amazed. We rode the skyride above the park, we walked through the deer forest & fed live deer. We saw the cutest animals. I do wish that the animals had more room to run & be more natural as G~d intended. I do overstand that the animals are well cared for here and want for nothing. I hear they import special foods for the giraffes, so I can imagine how the other animals are cared for. We took my Grandmother on the Zoofari, she loved it. She will be 88 this summer and can not walk the zoo so the Zoofari was perfect. We saw many animals up close and learned about horns vs antlers. Great time both times. I highly recommend!!

Overall experience was excellent, My only complaint is the food way overpriced and cold burgers and fries tasted like old oil...the whole family has been sick since our visit no one has eaten anything since...hope they can address this issue real fast....

Spent an amazing day at Southwick's Zoo. Today was the first day they let the birds out, and being able to attend the bird show was incredible! This zoo has so much to see that it's definitely worth planning a day to visit. Make sure to go through the deer trail, and see the tigers and lions!

I went there with my husband. We have no kids, so it wasn't exciting as we thought. Definitely worth the visit for families with kids but don't bring infants and toddlers on humid and hit Summer days because it's a torture for them (they are not old enough to enjoy the zoo) Lots of old fashioned kids rides. Entrance fees and foods are quite expensive (which caused 1 star subtraction) so bring your own lunch and cold drinks. For adults without kids, regular entrance tickets are good enough.

Tons of bang for the buck even with covid going on. Only a couple attractions not opened but geared more toward kids anyway. The train ride and the skyfari ski lift ride are by far the best park of the zoo and always give you a magical little adventure. I recommend bringing a little extra cash and doing them to turn a great zoo experience into a perfect one.

Best zoo I've ever been too. Tons of happy and fun animals in a great layout. There are fun attractions and rides and things as well like a cable-car seat which travels throughout the park and a forest to feed deer. Love it here!

I see alot of "ticket prices are high" and all I have to say is....this place is great!! These people along with alot of zoo employees get paid little to do ALOT! Pay the people and enjoy the show!! This place is worth every dollar and MORE!!

The zoo was very nice. Big, well maintained, and I liked that you can get fairly close to the animals. The reason I am giving it 2 stars is because of the extremely high price. $25 for adults and $20 for children is an outrage. If I haven't driven 45 min to get there I would have turned around when I saw the price.

Great zoo for our twin toddlers. Even with the closures from Covid there was a ton to see and do!! We spent over 4hrs there and the whole family had a blast:) The highlights were the train, all the different monkeys, and the multiple interactive feeding/petting attractions. The place was VERY clean and and although it was a hot summer day there was plenty of shade and it made for a great family day:)

You can really lose a day there. I was expecting to walk through rather quickly, but so many attractions and animals to see. I loved it and will be back. Very family friendly and had workers throughout offer hand sanitizing spray. Very thoughtful and curtious

Wonderful array of exotic animals in mostly decent sized habitat enclosures. Sky lift ride over some of the animal enclosures was a great experience. Wish this ride rode over the whole park!

Definitely worth a visit. Family friendly with plenty of activities and rides for younger children. I couldn't get my kids out of the deer park where you get to hand feed small deer. Zoos get a bad rap nowadays but the animals here seem well cared for and the staff is friendly and informative.

Just did the car tour of Southwicks Zoo..it was awesome..so many animals were out and able to be viewed. Workers made a lot of effort to show smaller animals and reptiles. Highly recommend the zoo for a car with audible tour or for just a regular zoo visit!

Awesome Zoo! We spent the whole day wandering through the zoo. Buy a combo ticket to take a "train" ride through the forest and see the elk up close! The sky ride was a terrific view of all the animals especially the ones you can't see up close in a large enclosure. No limit on train or sky rides with a combo ticket! Have some ones or quarters on you to feed the goats in the petting zoo and deer. Watch out for your little ones though because both are pushy to get at your feed! Carnival rides are included for your little ones too. We missed the bird shows but they welcome you in after to talk to the staff. Visited an education booth where they had a blue tongued skink we all got to touch. My kids loved it! Country setting, great parking in a field across the street. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked nice. We did sit at the picnic area and ate good food at the food stand, typical prices but don't forget how expensive it must be to run a zoo! I felt I got my monies worth!

Am going to give it a low 2 star-Rent a wheelchair $15+10 deposit the deposit must be Cash- wheelchair access throughout the park is very poor the dirt was hard to push the wheelchair and couldn't get to the animals and were hidden in their habitat and several of the animals looked very poor not taking care of- train ride which is $5 a person is a total rip-off it lasts about 5 minutes and you see nothing but a few turtle's if you're lucky and woods-Not Worth $25 a person..

I love this zoo. You can get so close to the animals and there are so many monkeys. There's also a deer forest and you WILL have several deer eating from your hand. Don't waste your money on the zipline. The ride lasts 30 sec and it's $12 per person! You could choose the skyride instead which is a slow, relaxing 10min ride around the park.

I went on a class field trip for a summer counselor job. It was a beautiful zoo with alot of great things to do. I did not get to see everything considering that I had to watch my group. Still a great spot to go!
