I have been a tennant with Southside Property for a year now and have had nothing but first class service from them.
Emma, my agent has been wonderful. I ve had a couple of small issues with and appliance and it was fixed within 24 hours. With a follow up contact to see if everything was ok.
I can t recomend them enough.

Southside are a company that have really done their homework. They understand the lettings market well and offer their clients a first class service. We have used Southside for nearly 2 years and we have always found them very helpful and professional. They take all the hassle out of renting our property and because they have excellent business contacts have saved us money.

Southside have been looking after my property for a year now and I couldn't be happier with the service. They arrange all maintenance and renewals of the many licences and checks and do so cheaper than I could do it myself. They deal with the tennants and find new tennants and have negotiated a substantial increase in the rent for next year. I used to spend many hours of my own time doing this sort of thing and wish I had switched to them years ago. All the staff are approachable and respond to any queries. It is my impression that they are fair with the tennants as well and that was one reason why I chose them as my daughter was a tennant in a different flat run by Southside.

I am a student and I have rented from southside for the past 2 years and have had an easy and pleasant experience. Mark Phillips has been helpful throughout, easy to get in contact with and quick to help with the minor things that go wrong over the course of years. Theyve treated us well and I would reccomend them to other students.

We've had a great experience with Southside and particularly Emma so far. A very professional team who are always speedy to reply and solve any issues. I wasn't sure how good service would be during a pandemic but the response has been great and they lead us through all the paperwork quickly. The few problems we've had have been solved within days! I would definitely be coming back to southside the next time I'm looking for a property.

This has been our first time renting with SouthSide Property. From the start they have been helpful and attentive. We received a FaceTime viewing that was taken by Derek, who was sure to show us around every point of the flat and garden, as well as answer all of our questions happily! We received a lovely welcome package the day we collected our keys including tea bags, toilet roll, soap, biscuits, a bottle of Prosecco among other essentials!
We settled into our flat immediately, the only thing I would say is that our inventory was later than the 10 days post moving in. However after emailing SouthSide to request it i received it within a day or so.
Mhairi dealt with our application and was always very happy to help with the many questions I had!
Allan is our property manager and has been very attentive and dealt with things promptly.
Clair has also been lovely, phoning to ensure we settled in okay and to make sure there were no issues with the flat!
The flat was in immaculate condition when we arrived, and have had no major issues thus far.
We have had a great experience with SouthSide so far and would definitely recommend them to others :)

Southside have been very good and conscientious landlord. Leah has always been happy to help and anything thats needed their help, they have always done so. The guidance at the end of the tennancy helps match everyones expectations and as a result we have had no problems getting our deposit back.

My first time renting with Southside. Effortless and Simple. Once the application was done, it pretty much took care of itself with Lewis looking after my application and all completely online. Only had to go into the offices to collect the keys on move in day. All very last minute but was still done to a great standard.

I used Southside Property Management for a property I stayed in a year ago and wanted to leave a review to how efficient and lovely all the staff are. Any issues in the flat (jobs needing done) were all done asap, like to make sure that tenants where present so you could ensure work was completed. They were great in ensuring all standards were met and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this marvellous tenancy to anyone. In my 10 years of renting, Siuthside has been without a doubt the best property management company I have ever had.

try to avoid them like avoiding plague. completely abusive, arrogant and unprofessional. leave your property completely trashed by low quality tenants and charge you astronomical amount for non-existent repairs.

Had a few hiccups with our application process but Lewis kept us updated and was very patient when we phoned him up and asked for help with the application as we had never rented a flat before, and covid meant we couldn't view it in person either. The flat is lovely and we are all happy to be there!

I cannot begin to praise southside enough. They dealt with everything smoothly and quickly; our agent Sam that showed us the property and our agent Lewis that dealt with the moving in process are absolute legends and lovely to deal with.. and on top of making moving a non stressful process they even gave myself and partner a bag full of new home essentials plus a bottle of Prosecco, tea, biscuits and more. I am an overseas landlady, and the piling expenses for various repair work were staggering. Be aware, property owner, if you are unable to attend/arrange the repair work yourself, your monthly rent could go down drain month by month.

I was referred to Southside by a friend who had used their services before. They have handled the leasing of our flat in Edinburgh and I am delighted with the service they have provided. They secured a Tenant very quickly and when the Tenant withdrew at the last moment, they quickly secured a replacement Tenant and managed to get them signed up and in occupation within days. The whole process was simple, efficient and stress free from a Landlord's perspective and I would have no hesitation in recommending Southside to prospective Landlords.

Southside were fantastic during our tenancy. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. Any issues were dealt with quickly and Chloe really went out of her way to make sure our boiler was fixed ASAP during the winter. The flat was given to us in fantastic condition and we would definitely recommend them as a letting agent.

The build up to the tenancy went well and the move in went rather smoothly.

When i moved in the property wasn't very clean and the oven still hd leftover food in it. The agents did send out a cleaner the same day so that was good.

I reported a few problems throughout the tenancy and they were fixed in a good amount of time.

The staff were always very polite and helpful, no complaints in that aspect.

Once I had moved out of the property, I was extremely surprised to find that a clump of my deposit was being deducted for cleaning costs. Especially when I left the propertly in a great condition compared to what it was given to me.

This left a poor taste in my mouth however there are worse letting agents out there.

We have just been accepted following an application for a house in Edinburgh. Our agent Anna was responding to our emails in a timely manner. She has got in touch with the landlord with a question very quickly and by next day we have reached an agreement.
Going forward the property manager is going to be Chloe.

This is the first time my partner or myself have rented with Southside and we both agree they are the best letting agency we have been with in Edinburgh over the years. The staff were welcoming when we first moved in - the welcome pack we received when we collected our keys was a lovely gesture! Our application and moving in process couldn t have been easier; the property we moved into has been perfect. Every member of staff has been incredibly helpful and friendly each time we have contacted the agency regarding separate inquiries which has been great. Receiving a check up call a few weeks after we moved in was another lovely gesture; we both feel as though the team at Southside have provided a personal experience despite the difficulties of not being able to meet face to face due to COVID. I would definitely recommend Southside as a letting agency for anyone looking to rent a property.

Travelled to edinburgh for a flat viewing. Agent couldn't get the front door open. Went home.

They ve been incredibly quick helping us with anything we need and always very friendly! Special shout out to the Plummer that they sent round to fix our shower!

They didn't respect your privacy and they don't solve problems. Fire alarm system is broken since one month, turning on randomly: the agency reaction was to give the system key to one of the tenant from the block in order to turn it off when it happend. Sameful

I moved form letting my property with a different letting agend to Southside and I couldn;t be happier. Lauren is responsive, problems solves and is a good communicator. She develops relationships with the tenants and I feel like my wee flat is safe in their hands.

Southside have been dealing with my mothers property for a few years now and the service has been excellent. They took care of converting the property to comply with HMO regulations which has greatly increased the rental income and have always managed to find good tenants during the university year and during the festival. EDIT: I wrote the original review while still communicating with Southside about the deposit issue I mention towards the end. Upon discussing the situation with our letting agent, Southside took charge of the final cleaning fee and returned the entirety of the deposit to us.

We also received further information about the reasons behind the issues we encountered, which left us with no doubt that our letting agent did her best to provide good service to us throughout the tenancy.

This definitely flipped our perspective on the situation and the quality of Southside's services. I guess that things can't always run smoothly in spite of everyone's best efforts, and I must say that SPM did their best to solve the issues we ran into. Comparing my review to the 300-something others, it seems that what we encountered is far from being the norm, and we have been informed that Southside took dispositions to ensure it would not happen again.

Ultimately, while my original review ended on a very negative note, the final outcome of our tenancy is definitely a positive one, and I must say that Southside still remains a very reliable agency for living in Edinburgh.

I have rented a property with Southside from July 2016 to July 2017. Upon arrival, the flat was unclean (dead mice, clogged sinks, copious amounts of human hair on the floors, atrocious stench), and we had to clean it by ourselves, with no financial compensation from SPM. Throughout the check-in process, Southside insisted that the property had been cleaned to 'professional' standards.



The staff themselves have been friendly over email and in person, always extremely responsive, and I would not blame them individually for our experience, but I will personally refrain from renting with them in the future.

Me and my roommate are from China to study in Edinburgh. We rent a flat which is provided by Southside Property Management. Before due to the flat problems, we had an unhappy conversation experience with the Southside staff. During these days I am still thinking about it, the reasons I concluded are the language difference and distrust exits, which caused the misunderstanding between us. So at here me and roommate - Huiwen Zhang are really want to apologise to Emma Winning, who is really kind, helpful and patience to solve our worries and flat problems. To Emma, We are very sorry for the unhappy conversation between us and we are appreciate for your help, thank you very much. I ve a been with Southside for over 3 years. I would unreservedly recommend them to both landlords and alike as a professional and responsive company.

The agency works fast and efficient. I've contacted them in the evening about a maintenance problem and it got solved the next day. Their trump is definitely the convenient way in which they communicate with their tenants. I have been very pleased with Southside so far and would certainly recommend it.

We have a property in Stirling that the team at Southside have looked after for over 5 years. I cannot begin to tell you in words how good the service is. We have also only had 1 week in that time when we had no tenant and that was merely because one left slightly sooner than the new tenant was due to arrive. All our maintenance and niggles have been dealt with cost effectively and efficiently. The office staff Natasha in particular took the time at the beginning to find out ho we wished to be communicated with, and thats what happens. I can tell you if you want anyone to look after your property get Southside. John and his team are the professional and do what they say when they say they are going to do it. A very unusual trait in this day and age.

Very incompetent agent. I've been a landlord with them for years but they have recently gone down hill. Property manager ignores my emails, they try to overcharge tenants and make constant mistakes.

Southside Lettings is really very professional. I was shown a couple of places by one of their agents - Derek, and he was so helpful and kind that I felt hugely encouraged about finding the perfect place eventually. Derek was also very knowledgeable about Edinburgh. I feel I can rely on Southside simply because it has wonderful people like Derek.

Southside Property Management, in my opinion are head and shoulders above all similarly like companies. I spent a significant amount of time finding the correct company to manage my home. Their service is second to none, not only are they most competitive with their fees, they have staff who are incredibly experienced.

My property manager is 'super efficient', emails are replied to within hours of sending, no matter how complex my queries are. The initial setting up of renting my property was complete in a matter of days and completely exceeded my expectations.

Nothing is a problem for them, they have a strong team and a highly knowledgeable workforce.

You just need to visit the office to see how successful this company is. It has a very positive vibe and I am delighted with the service they are giving.

As it was our first time applying for a property we have been really impressed with the service provided by Southside Property from initially viewing properties right through to signing the lease. My flat was taken over by SouthSide over a year ago, I find that my property manager Emma is quick to respond and does her best to make sure any issue is fixed as soon as possible :) To be fair my flat doesn't have much problems and I am a fairly easygoing tenant, but I am sure they would be as efficient if it wasn't the case :)

SouthSide has always been nice and quick with their responses and mediation, not always the companies they hire though, but I feel that they are not entirely to blame for this. Over-all a pleasant experience to hire from them.

It's cheap and near the Fringe's main events. That's about it.
