Southside Management Review

I have had a tenancy with Southside for 12 months and have just renewed for another 12 months. We have had nothing but great service from all of the staff at Southside - they get back in touch very quickly if you have any queries/issues and they are very helpful and friendly. Genuinely no problems whatsoever, but when we have had an issue in the flat e.g. the glass of the cooker became detached, the staff contacted our landlord ASAP and he was out to our flat within 2 days.

We are always given at least 24 hours notice of a check but usually it is at least a week before you are contacted to check if the date suites you. A really great letting agent!

We are landlords and use SPM to manage our property. They are professional, fair, prompt and offer a great service at good value for money. They find good tennants quickly and deal with repairs and maintainance issues promptly and at reasonable prices. We feel our propterty is in good hands and find letting our property is not longer a chore.
I can definitely recommend them as agents, and I say this having dealt with a number of really bad agents (which over charge for doing very little and cannot even find tennants) in Edinburgh.

Throughout COVID Southside have been so helpful and patient. Tom has fielded all of my enquiries and was a huge help while I was applying and very patient with all of my questions and emails. Andrew and Lewis made moving in really straight forward and always respond to questions and requests. The whole team are really friendly and helpful and I can t recommend them highly enough.

Our experience was positive. We booked a short stay online and several days before arrival received clear and detailed instructions via email. The property was described fairly and we got what we expected. Thanks to Cat our stay was really enjoyable.

I have dealt with Southside Property on a number of occasions now as a painting and decorating contractor and they have been able to resolve my issues in a professional and friendly way every-time. The properties that we have decorated are kept very clean and are clearly well managed. The staff are extremely friendly who always go out of their way to assist me. Great experience so far!

In my experience, Southside has been a very good property management agency and have helped me find two of my previous apartments. The team works quickly and is very helpful from the time of first viewing till the signing of the lease and through out the rental period. Lauren, my property manager was always a call/email away and responded quickly if I had any query about the apartment or needed to get someones approval to make changes in the property. Overall really satisfied with the service and would definitely use them again if I ever decided to move.

I was in contact with Leah for the year and a half that I spent with this agency. Any issues I had were always dealt with incredibly quickly. When I -mailed about needing a new vacuum cleaner, I had one brought to my door in 2 days, the same happened when the door on my washing machine broke. Several months after moving out of the flat, Leah still helped me with additional problems I had with a bill company - even though this was nothing to do with their service. Excellent service all round!

Anna was very lovely and accommodating with appointment times etc. She made the whole process of getting our lease signed so easy and quick. Thank you!

This is my first time renting with Southside and I'm so pleased with how everything is going. Southside are already by far the best letting agent I ve been with in the city. Everyone I ve spoke to in the company has been great and in particular our property manager Andrew has been super helpful, professional and friendly. He s always so quick to respond and we were so pleased he was able to resolve a few issues we had when moving in on the same day! The welcome pack was also such a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend Southside to anyone!

Every query is dealt with instantly and we are kept very well informed. Lauren is a fabulous agent and I would have no hesitation recommending southside to both landlords and tenants.

Southside have been a great all throughout our tenancy. When initially searching for a property, they helped us find a suitable place and ensured a quick and seamless move in. If we ever had any questions or maintenance issues, these were sorted very quickly often the same or next day. I would certainly use Southside again.

Terrible! Useless headless tanagers working in the office. Keep loosing our documents. Every time we had to deal with someone else and again and again explaining situation and they would be loosing the folders. Never got information by email up to date as they know nothing.The viewing was bad as well as there were so many people at the same time. Anyway, the worst side is, that I am looking again for flat and I just skip their offers even if it would suit my needs.

Fantastic service received from Claire and Leah - very efficient, effective and professional. I appreciated that we were constantly kept in the loop with everything. I would certainly rent from them again and recommend to friends and family. Massive plus is they charge no admin fees which was absolutely alien to me as I used to work as a lettings negotiator in London charging tenants multiple fees. Furthermore, if I was a landlord I would have no doubt and utter trust in these guys for finding the right tenants for me. Thanks for all your hard work guys and keep up the good work!

Having been a homeowner for over 30 years I found the renting process quite daunting until I used the services of Southside Management. Every member of staff I dealt with provided 100% customer service with prompt responses and were extremely helpful and went out their way. I would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of renting a property through them.

I was a tenant with Southside Property Management for approximately 18 months, staying in Edinburgh. I found them to be absolutely fantastic right from the initial engagement when I went to view the property.

Throughout the course of the tenancy we had a couple of very minor issues with the property but Southside were on the case within a matter of hours and their service was fantastic.

We would have absolutely no hesitation recommending Southside to any prospective tenants (or landlords as I imagine they are just as good!).

Really pleased the response time and friendly attitude Southside has. I first used Southside when I was looking around for a flat and had several virtual viewings with Sam. He was so friendly and so helpful giving me tips and making sure that I could see everything and ask any questions. The whole application process was stressful but all my questions were answered super quickly by Anna and Leah. Now living at a Southside property, the flat is amazing, got super lucky with my flatmates and even got a welcome bottle of prosecco from Southside to pop when I moved in! The property manager Leah is super helpful and responds v quickly which is really nice. I would definitely recommend Southside to anyone wanting to move to Edinburgh.

Don't care unless it benefits them, they are useless

I have had a relatively great experience with Southside so far. Despite alot of initial problems they have or are in the process of being resolved. I must mention that Cameron has been extremely helpful. He is understanding and extremely friendly; despite his job seeming incredibly stressful. His ability to work quickly to help has put us at ease, I have no doubt he would go above and beyond to ensure that tenants are happy.

We have been with Southside Property as tenants for 1 year now, and have had a wonderful experience. Throughout our entire stay in our first property, our property manager Lauren Caldwell was both courteous and quick to reply to any queries we had. We were kept up to date on any work or inspections, and felt we could contact Lauren about things and know they would be sorted quickly.

We have just had to move properties unexpectedly, and thanks to Lauren this whole process has run smoothly and (relatively!) stresslessly. We were able to flexibly arrange our move out date with the landlady, and Lauren helped us immensely in finding a new property, which not surprisingly is also managed by Southside.

I have nothing but good things to say really- after a number of different letting agents throughout the years, this has been by far the most professional.

A great letting agent. The starting of the tenancy went smooth and effortless, mostly done online. Only needed to visit the office in person to collect the keys.... and also collect a lovely thoughtful gift for settling in the new home.

We've been tenants in our flat for over 2 years now and have had a positive experience with Southside. Any issues have been handled in timely fashion: the oven broke and a curtain rail came off the wall. Our property manager has always been helpful whenever we've needed anything.

I never really had the chance to make an application. They cancel the viewing appointments constantly. At first I thought maybe I booked the viewing too late, and I totally understand that the landlord could accept an application at any time. However, the most recent experience is simply disappointing. I booked a viewing of a flat on 21 July when it was newly advertised, and the appointment was surprisingly arranged to be on 30 July, which is nearly 10 days later. I emailed them telling the confusion about the viewing date and got a reply saying nothing about it. I kept asking about it and just got no reply. Once again, after waiting so long, the viewing was finally cancelled one day before the appointment. I cannot say this is a bad or worst agency because I haven't really dealt with many of them. The reason I come to southside is the high score they have on google review. Maybe I had too much expectation on them, or maybe I was just unlucky not being able to have the same good experiences as others.

Very professional and friendly. Allan, my property manager since Dec 16, replies to my requests promptly and in a professional and polite manner.

Good company to deal with. The application, viewing and move in all went smoothly. They respond really quickly and sort things out when something goes wrong.

Can't praise these guys enough! used their service for the last 7 years. Can't fault them. Nothing is ever problematic. Wish they could manage the other properties I have!
