I returned to tamworth snowdome today for the first time in 2 years and instantly realised why i stopped going. I had 3 hour lift pass to snowboard 9:00 til 12:00 and within half an hour the bottom of the rope lift was blocked with skiing lessons making it almost impossible to use by others. The ski instructors make no attempt to ensure everyone can use it and seem to think its their lift.
At one point a young girl on a ski lesson fell over trying to use the lift whilst the instructor was at the top waiting, i went up to her grabbed her skis and took them back to the bottom so she could put them back on. The next time i came round the instructor was stood with the same girl as i went to grab the rope he angrily said to me " Shes trying to use this, Move back!"
Facilities are great but could be so much better if managed properly.

Kids birthday party, on entering you are directed to an area under the stairs, the initial female member of staff have us no info and told us to just wait around for 30mins until all the party had arrived. No explanation of what would happen or where to go etc. After being allocated our party guide, we eventually we time the running order. Kids had great time on private tubing/sled slope.
Party food was ok, room city's have been decorated a little better considering the cost.
In all it was great for kids but far too expensive.

Expensive for what you get. but the main reason I give this place one star is the catering. The food is just dreadful. Such a shame that out of all the restaurants that are struggling or closed, this one remains open. Disgusting really disgusting.

Visited here for a family swim and been a good experience. They have good changing rooms and pool is decently sized. Lot of Floating fun for kids and toddlers. Had only seen the snow stuff from their restaurant so cant comment on it.

Visited for daughters birthday was quite busy as 1st timers the girl were quite nervous there were a group of boys 11-13 who were pushing each other over on ice this was off putting as it was difficult to get past could do with a marshall who steps in and breaks it up as there wasnt much room on the ice anyways. Staff we encontered on skate collection were nice but rushed you away. Surrounding of ice looked amazing as it was set up for xmas wonderland. We did have a nice time just few that ruined it slightly

Ski run is excellent for anyone learning and practising (though a little repetitive if you're a more advanced skier), the ice rink is well maintained, cheap and often quiet and sledging is also great fun! The only let down was eating at the Aspen restaurant afterwards, where the food was disappointing and overpriced.

I'm not really a fan. It's far too busy with learners all over the place. There have been occasions when I've come round the top corner and had to slam on my brakes to avoid knocking over a line of skiing kids on a lesson. It's nerve-wrecking enough without constantly having to watch ever other person. They need to separate the lessons.

The escalators take a long time to get you to the top - it's 3 minutes up and about 2 minutes back down. It gets very repetitive and if you're stood behind a skiier you have to keep moving back as they have no grip so slide backwards.

The price is crazy expensive too.

Equipment is good and the staff are friendly. I dislike going there though but it's the closest we have to the real thing. It's a catch 22.

Was advised a group of school children would be in 15 mind after we had booked our session in the children's pool but it wouldn't affect us as they were having an inflatable in the main pool. How wrong they were!! It was what appeared to be a whole school who when finished using the slides were bombing and jumping into the toddler pool to get back to the main pool. Or just jumping in for the hell of it. They were even in the tiny baby pool at one point. We were pushed to use one side of the pool by at one count 13 teenagers with floats. The staff stood around and said nothing. We cut our session short and when I asked at reception who to talk to about not being happy I was just advised to email. Not asked what the issue was or nothing. Not impressed

A great place to hone your skills before a trip to the mountains. Unlike a dry slope the "snow" here is 90% as good as the real thing. The 3 hour session we booked was good value too compared to our local dry slope.

Disgracefully poor lessons and health and safety hazard. Wife had 3 hour lesson no one showed her how to use the rope lift despite her saying she had not used one. She got stuck and flipped by it but no instructors were watching to stop/help. Luckily a guest helped her. It was way to busy and skiers were cutting across the learners. Most times she got to the bottom the instructor said he had not watched... And she seemed to get minimal advice. Don't learn at Tamworth!!!

The slopes are ok, but experienced skiers/boarders crashed into learners 3 or 4 times in the couple of hours we were on the slope. The staff are friendly enough, but for first timers is SO badly organised.

Been twice now. First time was a kids party which due to the chaos of the changing area some of the party were 5 mins behind. Eventually they were dumped into an older age group with no explanation or consideration for their safety doing things outside their physical ability.

Second time, a first time skiers lesson. No time to get kit on in the time allocated (a difficult task given us being first timers and no advice or support provided) therefore people left behind in changing area to fend for themselves. No safety checks on the boots / helmets etc. Also not enough instructors in the kids group to provide support to those struggling or falling.

Great

We went late on a Sunday morning for a one hour ski lesson. It was very busy but within the snowdome itself the numbers seemed manageable albeit it was a bit crowded.
The instructor was very good, friendly, positive and encouraging. The downside was the cost and the crowds but I would go again and would recommend it to others.

Used to be 5 stars but waaay too expensive now. Can get on the mountains for cheaper. 5 second slide. Membership used to be worth getting with the discounts but even that has been downgraded. One hour discounts isn't worth the bother.

Wanted to take my daughter (5) and wife skiing. Had a discount card, for myself, so phoned up the day before because we couldn't book on line using discount. Checked that it would be alright to turn up as being the holidays knew it would be busy, was told no problems just turn up we're not that busy. In the morning check activity status online showed still not as busy as average weekend. Turned up after 1.5 hours drive to be told there was no places until 3 hours later. Huge queue for ski's as there was only one member of staff on and people complaining. Left with a very disappointed 5 year old, phone the local slope at Milton Keynes, Snow Dome, very busy but booked us in after telling them the story and gave the whole family a discount; could not have been more helpful. Would not have minded booking Tamworth at full price if staff had given me the right advice.

Ice skating reception is out-dated and needs modernising, watch the price of food/drinks - heavily over priced !!
