You have to pay for parking. Inside quite big and there are plenty of activities ranging from rock climbing to skiing. They also have a decent sized swimming pool. Food and refreshments ok but a bit expensive. We ate out of the dome in a near by pub and restaurant. If you're planning on staying all day maybe prepared to spend a bit on food and drink.

This is one of our Christmas traditions - a day of activities and fun at Snowdome. Everyone is always looking forward to it. It's really a day filled with excitement. We start with a skating session, followed by a nice lunch at the Aspen restaurant, a great snow play after lunch, a Xmas panto, Santa's village full of animals, with an evening tobogganing session to finish off the day. A real treat for the whole family!
Definitely the best place in the UK to learn to snowboard/Ski and for recreational use. The real snow provides a realistic experience and the instructors are fantastic in helping you achieve what you want to accomplish. Great place, would definitely recommend.
Good for snow stuff and a wide range of activities including ice skating, skiing, snowboarding, tobogoning and even a spot of indoor climbing. There's a swimming pool next door too.
Updated review: conditions of the snow are getting worse and worse here. The entire top section was just ice with ice patches all over the rest of the slope too. Please please consider investing and improving the conditions guys. My last visit was completely unacceptable for the cost.
The only thing that saves this place is the amazing instructors and coaches. In recent visits even in on quiet weekdays the state of the slope has been atrocious. Within an hour icy patches open up towards the top of the slope and as the day goes on there is always a very dangerous icy patch at the bottom that catches people out causing massive pile ups. The slope grooming at lunch time covers up the issue for no more than about 30 mins. I don't know how this place makes its snow but it is VERY POOR. If rumours are to be believed they use pulverised ice which would definitely explain it. The redeeming feature of the snowdome is the dedicated team of instructors and coaches. My snowboarding instructor got myself and the majority of the snowboard day course goers to rec standard that day. Not only that, they are always willing to give advice on the slope to help out. Now I feel fairly proficient at boarding I feel freestyle night is the only reason I would go back as it also includes free coaching. Other than that I feel Ive had enough of the snowdome until they decide to invest in some decent upgrades to the snow conditions.
A great variety of indoor activities which include swimming, ice skating, skiing, fitness gym and classes, rock climbing, tobogganing, tubing, snow play, snow boarding and more (REAL SNOW!! - real natural snow is imported for the ski slopes More
Fantastic private lesson for a friend and I with Kasia! I haven't skied in 30 years and she gave me the confidence to ski from the top within my first lesson while still helping my friend who is a good skier to improve her skills. Can't wait to go back again now. Thank you.
Very poor . Took my 4/5 year old for the intro lesson . IT WAS TERRIBLE and would t be surprised if it has put her off . I m am a yearly skier so just wanted to give her a little intro before we go . Wish I hadn t bothered. 8 children to one instructor with no help so he spent more time picking up kids off the floor than being able to instruct what to do . He needed an assistant. Consequence was my daughter got bored and cold . Not the result I was hoping for . The skis that they supplied her with were also way too long which when I told them they said it wouldn t matter . It most certainly did as she couldn t lift her legs . Very badly managed not value for money and would certainly not recommend especially when we travelled an hour and a half for a 45 mins lesson and she basically slid 15 foot twice !!!!!
Great time.. few staff issues regarding tiny tubing location. Was told 2 go inside the room and sit down and staff told us 2 go outside and wait.. don't think any of them knew what there job was...
Took our two lads tobogganing. This place is ruined by the dirty and disgusting Aspen bar and onsite Starbucks. Loads of tables with previous customers food and drink and no sight or sound of anybody cleaning. Not great in the middle of a pandemic. Will not be going back
Our new favourite place! So much to do, so worth planning a 2 day trip (handy Holiday Inn Express right next door). We did the Fast-track 1 skiing lessons today, with Miles, and we all came away very happy. As expected my husband and children took to it straight away, sadly I didn't. Miles was a fantastic instructor, patient and knowledgeable, I just didn't have the confidence to move to a higher level. There is a climbing wall, swimming pool, tobogganing slope, ice skating course/rink and a seperate huge slope. The restaurant was not overly expensive and decent food for the prices. We luckily managed to get quite a hefty discount on the lessons because I signed up to emails and immediately booked when I recieved an email regarding their re-opening after COVID lockdown discount. Planning to come again for skiing Fast Track 2, swimming and whatever else we can fit in. Cleaning and social distancing in place, snoods provided for lessons and 20p needed for lockers.
Me and a friend attended 'learn to ski in a day' is was brilliant. Our teachers were andy and adam both are just amazing at what they do. I was a little slower at learning later in the day and nothink was to much trouble for them. Everyones so friendly. The facilities are great a all round great day and would recommend to anyone. Thanks andy and adam
We went for their Christmas Wonderland, and it was amazing. Will definitely go again to ski. Good for adults, children, and toddlers alike. Pool was also great.
Sledging is great fun, usually get around 6 trips down the slope which might not sound like much but is usually enough. Went with 12 year old who could go on his own sled and 5 year old who had to go with me, both enjoyed the day.
I learned to board from scratch on this slope. Staff are friendly and approachable. Lessons are very well presented and easy to work from. When you begin free boarding, you can still ask for advice if they can give it. Only complaint is the snow quality, can be improved, especially after the rough summer at times all it was was ice. But they are improving their air con at the minute so after that I will change to 5 if it deserves it
Fun morning here but think that the hourly pass rate is a bit steep for a slope that isn't particularly. Good for a brush up or an absolute beginner but I think the place could be much more ambitious! Would love to see an expansion or some more area to ski on. In the mean time would settle for a bit more snow on the thing, occasionally scraping through to the boards underneath even earlier on in the session!
We use the snowdome as a stop off. The restaurants are great here, offering hot and cold food and drinks to the taste off most people. They also all have views of the various areas of the activities areas.
Snow play is great for little ones, tobogganing is great from around 5yo and is super fast.
Toilets are very clean!! Staff friendly and accommodating.
They have a great looking climbing area for adults and kids alike which we shall try another time.
The snowdome was amazing. I took my children there for the kinder ski intro and it was done in the snow park. The answer I got from them was it was amazing. They are 7 and 6. First time on skis and the instruction was brilliant. There was this little girl who didnt want to do it anymore but the instructors swapped the group she was in and then enjoyed it. The instructors knew how to be and made the whole experience with all the students very good. I'm thrilled my children want to do it again and I will get them skiing again. The only issue I had with the trip was the car park at the bottom so majority of the car park was flooded. So the benefit was free parking.
Absolutely amazing staff & instructors. Especially Lorraine & Arlene On front of house and Julie & Vicky (pilates & yoga instructor's) I also did Chloes class today and she was brilliant!
Great young kids introductory ski lessons. They were pitched at a perfect level for the kids to retain enjoyment; While getting used to the gear and doing some walking/gentle skiing they also have time for some sliding on rings and messing about in a play house during the lesson. Big smiles.
Really enjoyable experience good fun and my Neice loved it cafeteria is nice and clean and not too expensive, even a good day out for those of us who refuse to grow up
