Had breakfast here on my last day visiting Seattle and it was a good start to the day. I feel the prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. I ordered the deconstructed corn beef hash and the alcohol laced cold brew (Had to start the day strong amirite?). The food was...just good. Nothing that made my tastebuds party but my palate was definitely satisfied.

As for the ambience, it had old school diner vibes but with a hipster-esque feel to the decor. It's nice and really fits in with the location of the restaurant.

Would I go again if I was back in Seattle? Probably not, but that is mostly because I'd rather try other restaurants new to me in the area. I'd recommend as it is worth checking out.

We came here for the milkshakes (we read they were the best in Seattle. We were deeply disappointed (maybe just the flavor we chose). However! The sandwich was so dang good it saved the experience. I think it was called the breakfast madam, or something like that.

I entered the Regrade as they opened at 11am, and ordered "The Good Burger." I spent a little extra for the poutine on the side. The meat in the burger wasn't grilled, shaped like a rounded hockey puck, and was gray. As such, the bread had a huge overlap on the meat on the sides, while having too much meat-to-bread ratio in the middle. The bun wasn't toasted as reflected in their pictures, and the poutin did not have any cheese curds, which made it just fries with gravy. The fries and gravy were small in portion, and were salty due to the gravy. I had a free cup of water with my meal. I spent about $22 dollars out the door, which regrettfully included a pre-paid tip.

Pricey and not that flavorful

I m not sure what the hype is all about here. I ve been a couple of times and thought the food was nothing to write home about, especially given the prices.

A promising menu and an inviting, retro dining room fell short with the food execution. Poached eggs like hockey pucks were mercifully removed from the check. The fried chicken was tender and well seasoned, but the accompanying waffle was undercooked and almost inedible. The cinnamon bun was a hit at the whole table. My friends seemed to enjoy their breakfast sandwiches. It's a shame that the cooking isn't of a higher caliber because there are many thoughtfully conceived items offered on the menu. I wanted to love this place.

Amazing brunch! Bruleed grapefruit was wonderful since it has that toffee buttery flavor but finishes with that tart, bitter grapefruit burst. Donut holes with house made jam and Nutella are to die for. Hot, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, and the sauces are amazing. Chilaquiles are great with tons of sauce, ample amount of toppings, and eggs were cooked to perfection. Cocktails are great. Flavored lattes are silky and not too sweet. Wonderful spot!

Know that: you need a reservation, and then you need to have a cell phone and a scanner app to read their menu. This held us up. It's ok, but hard to find a plain American Breakfast. There was a lot of avacado, brioche and such. Service is quick though, and their potatoes are probably their best item. Just a weird scene is all. What do you call the yuppies that disguise themselves as hippies?

I am so upset right now. I ordered biscuits and gravy through postmates from skillet. They arrived, and I ate a bite. Realized.... the biscuit was RAW. Contacted postmates, who told me to contact skillet. I have called 3 times, left voicemails and haven t heard back from them. This is ridiculous. You can t serve raw food to your customers!

We came in a big group on a Sunday. They were accommodating, friendly, and relatively fast for such a situation. I had a portobello burger that now haunts my dreams because I want another one so bad. Good cocktails too.

Straight off of the plane, we came here for breakfast to try and adjust to the time (lunch time at home). It's a little out of the way, but in a great location to walk around and explore!

Skillet has that classic diner feel, open kitchen, but comfy enough to talk and enjoy a meal!

I'm going to start with the morning taters (home fries) were my absolute favorite! Perfectly seasoned and cooked just right! The balance of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! I had the breakfast burrito; fried chicken, scrambled eggs, cheese, and I added avacado. While everything was pretty tasty, I found myself reaching for the salt and tapatio hot sauce. The chicken needed a little love, but overall a great meal! The coffee was smooth and just what I needed to keep going for the morning! All in all, great experience and tasted good. Get here early though, it definitely started to get busy (inside and outside seating) around 10:30/11:00 a.m.

Skillet is such an amazing restaurant, the service is amazing and the food incredible. I love the drink options, the Mimosa was delicious and the Spiked cold Brew was one of the best I've ever had the balance of Coffee to alcohol was great. I got the Chub with the fried chicken, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the bacon jam added a nice smoky sweetness to the sandwich. The house made tots were very well seasoned and had a very nice flavor. Will definitely be going back to Skillet for another delicious meal.

We waited 40 minutes after a 30 minute estimated wait time and were then, seated at the bar. After saying we wanted a table, we were told there was no way they could guarantee us a table. A table opened up minutes after we were seated at the bar, but we were not offered the table. We ordered quickly, but waited another 30 minutes for our food, even though others who were seated 10 minutes after us received their food and ate before us. The biscuits in the biscuits and gravy were so dry and hard, I had to cut them with a knife. The bacon in the cobb salad was burnt so crisp, it was like chewing on rocks. The restaurant is poorly managed top-to-bottom. I cannot fathom where these positive reviews are coming from. I would never go back.

Let s be honest, the only good thing on the menu was the chicken and waffles. None of the plates come out skillet cooked and the coffee is definitely cut with water, Two steps above gas station quality . Got a plate of Chilequiles and it was not spicy but oddly sour like the taste in my mouth when I saw the price for that which looks like baby diarrhea ($15). The orange juice either sat too long and fermented or had a touch of alcohol on the bottom of the glass. They couldn t even make toast properly, dryer than the desert but at least there were mason jar glasses and friendly service but we only saw our waiter twice. Once to greet us and get our order once to bring our meal. I don t recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a specific pallet for tastes because they will crush your passion for good food in this city

great food, great service. loved the diner style decor. great place for friends to hang out with for dinner or to catch up over a cup of coffee. tomato bisque soup was incredibly hearty and very flavourful. the mac and cheese was unfortunately dull, not worth the $15 price tag. the winter special turkey sandwich was a massive portion and was very tasty! the turkey was slightly tough but still delicious nonetheless. all in all, highly recommend.

The food is delicious (I highly recommend Mike's Scramble of the day!) but the restaurant gets really busy and the place isn't able to keep up all the time. Definitely make reservations.

Amazingly good. I had the Ultimate Grilled Cheese with fried chicken inside and a cup of Tomato bisque, and shared a cinnamon bun with my fellow diner, who got the Serious Toast. Everything was unbelievably tasty. High attention to detail on the texture and overall flavor. Heaping portions, fair prices, friendly staff. Just overall an excellent experience and by far the best brunch I've had in Seattle thus far.

This is a solid place that doesn't quite live up to the original hype, although most of that has faced as the are multiple locations. Interesting, comforting menu, pulled off adequately. A bit overpriced, such as $3.50 for a cup of coffee. Love that you can have breakfast along with lunch entrees.

Skillet, skillet, where are thou O Skillet. I've been dropping in at Skillet for at least 5 years. So I have a basis for comparison when I write this review. Laugh if you will, but a great testament to Skillet was their five dollar peanut butter and jelly sandwich with fries. Why? Because even something so banal, something just about anyone could make, was done with love there, and done well. I've eaten other food there, and it's been good. Enough to pop in 2-3 times a year, and I don't live anywhere nearby. However, my last visit, Wednesday, 10th January, at 4:30 pm, with my sweetheart, was absolutely shameful and worst of all, loveless. No love in my food. I went out on a limb and ordered the shrimp po' boy. What you served me, Skillet, AIN'T A PO' BOY. It was 16.00. What I received for 16.00 was chintzy near-stale piece of baguette with a few shreds of lettuce, a small glop of mayonnaise on either side, and 4 tiny overcooked cornmeal fried shrimp, more cornmeal than shrimp. The corn was crunchy, the kind that makes you wonder if there is sand in the food, poorly seasoned to boot. In any case, it was nasty. And no tomatoes? The fries were ok, though there weren't much of them. Thoroughly unsatisfied, I ordered a piece of chicken and extra mayonnaise and stuck the chicken on the crappy bread. That sort of made a meal. The chicken from the specials sheet was ok, but unfortunately titled "chick on a stick". My sweetheart had a kale caesar salad, with blackened salmon added. The kale was under-dressed, and looked like a large plate of garnish. Ordered another side of dressing. The salmon was incredibly salty, and had what seemed like a "spice crust" on it instead of a good blackening. Proper blackening occurs when you *dust* the fish with the spice blend and then sear it on a very hot skillet or sautee pan. Blackened salmon, not burnt-on-crusted salmon, thanks. This stuff was a quarter of an inch thick, inebriated with salt and, again, not tasty. The stuff they call ranch was ok, but with nothing worthwhile to dip in it, kind of moot. The server was perfunctory, agreeable, and wisely did not inquire about the quality of our experience. For his friendliness, that is the one star, because the food was a less than zero experience. The place was mostly empty, which made me wonder if we got caught in that thing restaurants do---make the line cooks cook while they are also prepping for the dinner rush. In any case, a disappointing and regretful meal.

My husband says that after you eat at Skillet, you remember your life as pre skillet and post Skillet !!!
The food is delicious. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was perfect. The soup sort of tasted of layers of tomato, cream , herbs, it was tangy and sweet. The bread used to make the grilled cheese was of the best quality.
The potatoes on my husband's skillet were roasted very expertly, not overly done or burnt, perfectly salted, so simple but so delicious.

This is a neat place, cool decor, nice staff. However, my group and I did not end up liking the food very much. I got the avocado breakfast burrito, others in my party got the chicken sandwich and the chicken and waffles. All of us wished we had eaten elsewhere. I love diner food so I was sad to dislike it here, but I'm sure there has to be something better on the menu we just didn't see.

Some amazing breakfast/brunch food. The four of us split a cinnamon roll (otherwise it's big enough to be a meal) and it was heavenly. Otherwise I had a fairly traditional breakfast and it did not disappoint, especially the bacon. Coffee really hit the spot as well. Really nice staff. Be prepared for a wait on weekends.

Skillet is one of the best food joints on cap hill. With a consolidated menu, you ll actually be tempted to order one of everything.

I never got that feeling at restaurants where you re handed a textbook, but it s not really a textbook, it s their menu.

Every visit to Skillet, I tried something new. What a fantastic place.

Oh, and they ll give you chocolate and peanut butter for your French toast if you ask them. Hook it uuuuppp.
