Very friendly family run and owned by the local Nicaraguan family as well. Cheap scooter rental and tours. English spoken as well as French.

Excellent hostel with great location and very helpful staff

Dont get them to do your laundry, you wont get all your items back.

Very nice owner and family home you share with, quite basic accommodation. The location is very close to the ferry terminal. They have parrots, ducks, cat and a dog. Includes breakfast also. The owner rented me the scooter cheaper than any other shop in Ometepe.

I recommend staying at Hostal Papagayo. They are very friendly, good price in bedroom and everything was very clean. Breakfast was included and very delicious.

Really chill and welcoming place to stay. Lots of random critters to pet while you're hanging out. We stayed in the private room with a bathroom and it was perfect, lots of room and very clean. Only complaint would be that the light in the room is not very bright so it was not ideal at night. Breakfast is great, one of the best we've had in 1.5 years of traveling. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

Super hostel, a beautiful place, very clean, well thought out and well maintained.
An absolutely lovely and dedicated staff.
Breakfast included in the formula (absolutely delicious), We also had lunch on the spot, fresh fish, cooked with love, very well presented and that for a price more than reasonable!
A service far above all our expectations and for a ridiculous price, scooter rental possible, has a better price than the rest of the island.
Nothing to say, we could not have hoped for better!

This hostel is great! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They speak in great English and Spanish. Great location! Close to Ferry Port and a local comiderea. The rooms have fans, comfy beds and clean towels for the guest. Great WiFi. P.S. there are little Choco Bananas across the street.

We felt like home in this family run hotel (which is now located 4 min walk from the harbor). We even stayed longer. All members of the family are very nice (they made me repair my shorts and took me to the hairdresser) !! it's clean!

I stayed here in Papagayo about a month ago was a really nice stay and the owners very friendly and speak good English it s located in town next to some restaurants the ferry terminal scooter rental etc

Bad place, stay somewhere else..the owner give us a cheaper price when we wanted to leave, and after i heard from a couple that they were paying the same i was paying in a dorm but for a private room.. the dorm has 6 beds small room and uncomfortable beds at least 2 of them.. breakfast is included but first day miscommunication maybe.. amd second day i had to ask for cheep.. others people had on the plate and not us.. there are only two bathrooms (clean) and bed covers were not dirty maybe but full of stains and they give me a sofa pillow.. awful.. they sleep in the livingroom.. aaaand they have a little monkey and it shouldn't be there.. cause is a baby ... see pictures

This is a very nice homestay where they make you feel very welcome. It is literally on the shore of the lake surrounded by a lot of natural greenery. It is very close to the nature so be prepared to see a lot of insects coming with it while listening to the sound of the small waves from the lake. The access to the hostel is through a trail in the forest connected to the main street of Mayogalpa. The owner can help you arrange your tours or rent a vehicle.

In addition to accessible prices, the private rooms are very comfortable, private bathroom, very clean and the staff is very friendly.

The hostel owner is a very interesting and intelligent man ... You can trust his opinion and communicate with him in English, Spanish and a little German.

The private rooms include a typical Nica breakfast but do not forget that there are people who do not like to eat so heavy so you always have a more light option.

Caring for your customers, I can perceive that is your motto.
