We had fun. I think the customer service has room for improvement. The girl who gave us our skates (long blonde hair) was rude and acted like being there was the last thing on the planet that she wanted to do. The older kids who could skate really well would zip around little kids cutting them off and making them fall down. The place could use some sprucing up too. The rink floor is definitely well used and the ceiling tiles arent in the best condition. (I know it takes money to repair that just something I noticed) Laser tag was fun and the guy in charge of that was nice. The girl with dark brown hair knew what she was doing and would jump in and get things taken care of when she needed too. The girl with blue hair was also nice and polite. It wasn't a bad experience for $10 unlimited skating and laser tag...we will come back. But if I had to choose between this one and the one in bellmead I would choose bellmead. The boys that work there are nice and take time to help someone up if they fall and they would help little kids skate and it was in better condition in my opinion but it's a little more pricey. I think it's awesome that Waco has skate options. I hope they last a long time.

Silver Birthday party and the hostess was not good!
She seated the party 15 min. early to eat. When I asked the hostess for refills she told me she would get refills when she served the ice cream at the regular scheduled party time. So all the party which consisted of mostly kids was already getting up bc they was done w/pizza. I went and asked again for refills and ice cream to be served bc the kids are ready to go skate she said, "I'll just call them to come back." --still at the reg. Scheduled time. It was not worth the price. We overpaid and I will never have another party here again!
This was my 2nd silver party I've had here for the same child. The 1st was a success & that credit goes to the hostess. No complaints. Except not enough little kids pvc trainer skater things.
I have 3 more smaller children and due to the horrible service and the lack of care/good service that our hostess did not provided...i will never have them a party here. She ruined that for me.
It's the price and amount of money we spent that warrants no more parties here ever again. I was not happy with our experience here.

The kids had fun but the staff could be more attentive to the customers. You have to wait at the counter while the employees hold conversations with each other. The employees look at you and look away real quick. The place has potential with better customer service.

If I could give no stars, I would. I write this review as the mother of an employee who was unjustly terminated today after being wrongly singled out for unsatisfactory work behavior. My daughter is a hard worker who's always willing to help. I left a voice mail for someone in management this morning at around 1 a.m. because my daughter was outside sweeping the deserted parking lot BY HERSELF at 12:30 a.m. when I arrived to pick her up. She was supposed to have been off at 10 p.m. but was kept late due to the place being busy. She has always stayed late with no complaints.

The place has horrible management. The wait time for anything is long no matter who's working. I was there several times this week with my granddaughter for spring break, and we always had to wait for service at the snack bar or "stuff" shop. The kids working there do their best to get things done but more often than not, stations are unmanned. It's obvious no prep work is done before opening. Case in point...we ordered a hot dog the other day soon after opening, and we had to wait 20 minutes because none had been put on the warmer prior to the doors being opened.

When we got there Monday, the front foyer was full of people paying to get in right at opening time. However we were almost stepping on each other because they weren't "open yet." I'm sorry, if your front door is unlocked and you're taking people's money, you're open. They didn't even have the money in the register five minutes before opening time yet were letting people in. As I said, poor management. This is why the stations aren't manned correctly and the wait times are so long.

Yet my daughter was singled out last night and written up for leaving her assigned station to help other employees. It was stated that help wasn't needed, but it clearly is. The guy who wrote up my daughter last night apologized to her today. I'm still livid that she was fired for hustling, as she's been raised to do, and that she was outside alone sweeping the parking lot in the middle of the night. Why is that not done in the daylight before opening time? Oh that's right: because these people have no concept of prepping before opening. And if she's that ineffective, why keep her two hours past her scheduled shift as has happened several times before??????

I won't be taking my granddaughter there or their other location SKATE COUNTRY due to the bad treatment of my daughter, whom I know is a conscientious employee. And for the record, I wasn't rude on the voice mail I left. I just asked a member of management to return my call regarding some concerns I had. I never got a call back, and my daughter got fired. I wonder what else they run from.

My kids had a great time. Almost every game was out of order. I feel like that was a rip off because our Friends paid for that in the party pack. For that, and the fact that the staff is unprofessional and rude is why I'm giving it 1 star. Especially and mostly the lady who works at the window. Long hair in a pony tail with glasses. We were attending a birthday party and were a little early. My two daughters had to use the restroom and I asked if we could, and then sit and wait because it was very humid outside. She told us no, because the hosts of the party had not signed in yet. She did say my girls could use the restroom but then we'd have to wait outside. The place was dead! I just thought that was ridiculous. We just simply wanted to wait inside. She rolled her eyes when I looked confused. I was at first. This was our first time there. I can respect the rules so at the time I let it go. To make a long story short she was very unprofessional about a few other things when we did check in. We spent money there. We were paying customers. Not to mention our Friends throwing the B-day party spent a good penny as well. Later I went up to the counter and asked "may I please have some water in my cup"? (I had already paid for a drink) She (same Woman) said, "there's a drinking fountain over there." Then walked away. I'm not picky but with all the viruses going around I do not want to get water from a fountain that kids slobber all over. I wouldn't let my kids drink form that. The place is sticky and filthy so I'm guessing they don't sanitize those very often. As we left I said "Thank you!" With a smile on my face, still trying to be polite. She looked right at me and back down at her phone again. I take pride in being polite. That is the way I was raised. It's hard to understand why you wouldn't get that in return in a place of bissiness. My Daughter really wants to have her next Birthday party there and after this experience I don't think we will. It's sad but that is not how you should run a place of business. We shouldn't be made to feel like we're inconveniencing them. That sums it up. That's how it felt. A few other people commented that as well while we were there. I don't like that at all!

Chaotic environment because of all the people, mostly children, but somehow the place still manages to function very smoothly. Even though everyone is on their own fast, interruptuve and often looks like itll break up someone else's, it just works itself out. Overall a good experience if you dknt mind a good amount of other skaters with you.

I took 40 Elementary School students here for laser tag. The staff at the skating rink made every student feel welcome. The concessions were great and the portions were generous. The kids had an incredible time and when they were not playing laser tag they were treated to a Disney movie. I cannot give a higher recommendation going to take kids here for a summer treat.

Price was really fair....you get unlimited skate and laser tag for $10! I sucked at skating but the laser tag was so much fun....there isn't a heating system I
Back there if you go in winter but once you start a game you will be glad there isnt heat on. We had a blast.

Not sure what to say about this place. It could be great! Went 2 weeks ago and brought our kids and there friends. After buying skating and laser tag for everyone, we were charged to bring our kids in. I find that strange and told the young lady... (you charge me to bring my kids in and give you business??? What if I don't pay the fee, and just take my $60 else where. And her response was, I guess you could!)

Kids really wanted to skate, so we went in. Upon entering, there was kids everywhere, no parents and a staff full of youngsters that really had no clue what was going on or anything about business. The place was tore up and nasty. Nothing had been clean.

The place is just simply mismanaged! I could go on with other issues, but you get the point. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DAYCARE & DONT SEND YOUR KID HER ALONE!

Old, worn down, and they nickel and dime you for everything. Want to bring your young children and watch them skate? Sure! But they'll charge you (the parents) just to come in. It's not like you can just drop off your young kids...that would be bad parenting. But this place makes sure you have a reason NOT to come at all when charging for just watching!

I'm very disappointed that you charge parents to stay with their kids. In this world it is not safe to leave kids places anymore. I did not expect 36$ for a Saturday afternoon. Disappointing !! I can go to jump n place, and urban air to watch my kids play without an added charge.

It was a wonderful place, but One thing grinds my gears.
There were Two kids at the front of the lobby, saying they were in "time out".
To pass time, they got on their cellphones, and two employees called them up and said to put them away, because they weren't allowed to.
Unpon further inspection, they were play-fighting, and got put in "time out".
The thing that makes me angry is that they weren't participating in a camp, and the employees weren't given permission from parents to punish them if they were bad, they didn't even come with parents, they came with a close friend.
and they even threatened to take their phones away.
These employees need to know that kids will be rowdy, they are just kids. It really pisses me off because these stupid employees think that they own them.

Grew up at this rink. Love it. Sincere staff. Decent music. Skating is loads of fun, and laser tag is a blast. The only thing that I warn you of: if you are looking for a nice family skate session, Do Not go on Friday. Fridays can be messy due to the many ill-mannered children that skate on those nights. I advise going on Sunday (aka family skate day). Tuesdays and Thursdays are also slow days. Saturdays are not bad, though expect a full house...that's bday party day. Skate World is a great place to have kids' parties too. The party pals really work with party parents to ensure party goes smoothly. Skate World is my home, and I hope to pay them back some day for all the joy they have brought me. :)

Was fun but it is run by foul mouth youths that had no concern for younger skaters. The people who actually run the rink were very uncooperative on getting our party questions and concerns answered prior to the event. Would not return calls my wife left. Had to have a friend go by to speak to someone about the party to finally get answers. Will probably not do birthday parties there again with them being SO expensive and having no communication prior to the party. The foul mouth kid drops the M-Fer and then 10 minutes later knocks down my niece while messing around in the table area. They need to get it together.

My friend fell and broke her wrist here while skating and the staff could not have reacted in a worse way. She immediately asked for an ambulance to be called and the staff refused and said "you don't need one." I was across the room and did not see what happened right away. By the time I rushed over to her the staff had put on a splint made out of cardboard and duct tape, which the doctor said worsened her injury. I was guiding her out of the building to drive her to the ER when the owner physically blocked us at the door with her body and said we couldn't leave until we filled out an accident report with her information. Seriously?! I had to yell at the woman to get out of our way so we could get to the car.

most staff was rude except for the young African American male who was in the sector of exchanging shoes for skates/blades. As far as the experience, had a great time skating with family and friends!

This review was posted on the 11th of June, 2019 and i am now responding again on the 8th of July due to the correspondence i had with the owner and Dylan is great! Although i took quite a while to get back to him he was patient through the entire conversation and allowed me to explain what thoroughly happened through the visit my family and i had on that particular day! And he immediately rectified the issue by informing me that he would speak with the staff i was describing and reiterate the core values Skate Waco has as an entity. Great customer service from Dylan!

We visited skate park on a Tuesday afternoon with a 6 and 8 year old. The staff were excellent and incredibly friendly many of the other parents at the establishment were terrible. Our biggest issue was the incredible overcrowding. The Waco fire marshal would have a field day. I believe this was because of the visiting local Waco city daycare, spring break camps. Skate World should have an allotted time or special party area for these. Because of the overcrowding the facility was also completely understaffed. They were all swamped. The skate rental counter was so behind the skates were stacked until they fell off the counter. This is where the terrible parents come in. They didn't feel the need to wait to properly rent their skates and began ordering their children to steal the skates off of the counter. Even when dealing with these kids and being understaffed the man behind the counter was extremely helpful. My second complaint is the skate helper aids they have for rent. These are a tremendous help for parents. However, they ran out and had a waiting list during our visit. Only because they were not being returned. They aids have a time limit of an hour and kids were using them over half an hour past their limit. No staff member was sent to gather them for parents who had been waiting and no parents seemed to worry to make their child follow the rules. My last complaint is a minor one. We came to skate, but the majority of the time they were playing games that could only be played with children who were experienced skaters. I think this is ok if at night when the older children are out but during the day when families and younger kids come they should have games more centered toward that or just skating. The music selection was excellent kid-friendly popular music with no sexual references or cussing. Our first experience here was terrible. I believe if we were to come again it would be much different. The staff are excellent it was just this one day of overcrowding.

If i could give zero stars, i would. They stole my deposit and don't answer my calls. I booked a party back in march and numerous people from skate waco told me that i will get a refund. They kept promising it back in different forms, like back in my account in 3-5 business days (lie) a check in the mail (lie) they will refund it once they open ( lie) i still have yet to see my refund and they are ignoring me now. So they basically stole my money and are acting like I'm not asking for it back. Very petty and unprofessional people here managment wise.

Really great place I don t understand why so many people talk bad this place I go here every Friday and Saturday I ve met tons of friends... saying the staff is full of youngsters... it s a skating rink and high schoolers are just looking for a job to make money to provide for their needs

I would imagine it's hard to predict the fluctuation of customers on a given day, but the day I was there (Thursday evening, mid August), the place was under staffed for the amount of people. I did not have a bad experience with any employees, but I had to wait when I needed anything as the two employees were each multi tasking to help everyone. The building is old, but the rink is in good condition. It was a little too warm, but not awful. I would go back, but it could stand a little improvement over all.

Thought this place was understaffed, but come to find out that there's 1 employee chilling in the office, one hanging out in the food area and the other 2 are hanging out by the entrance scrolling pages on a computer. No one is watching the skating area and kids are running amuck. Got kids running on the rink in shoes chasing each other, kids playing with the skate assists (PVC contraptions on casters) and some kids climbing all over the basketball game grabbing the balls and running around the skate area with the balls. One kid (which it's obvious that he is related to one of the staff members) skates dangerous fast with a skate assist then throws it across the skate rink and comes close to hitting other skaters. He continuously skates and cuts people off. The one staff member that did come onto the rink for about 5 minutes decided to speed skate with the kid then left the skate area. As I sit here typing this, watching 2 kids chase each other in the main lobby area, even though a staff member told them to quit.
