Took the 10 month HVAC course , it was kind of a bummer that 3 of those months were spent doing online work due to COVID but what can you do. The teacher Jason Reynolds is what made my review a 5, even after the course is completed he still makes himself available for his students no matter what time of day it is. Career Services was also a big plus as they helped me find employment right away . If your looking for a career change I would say go for it, you won t have trouble finding employment as career services takes care of everything .

It s been almost 2 years since I graduated and I have yet to get info on how to take my ma certificate test. I moved out of town so keep calling to see when I can go take my test or what I need to do and no one has called me back. They don t care for the graduates only getting more ppl to sign up. Would not recommend

MA Program: Great school to get in and out quick. With that being said, youll always be busy, theres alot to get done. Every staff member is super helpful and kind. They are super understanding and will get you where you need to be. YOU GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN! If you are always on time and on top of your work, you will be prepared when it comes to your career. Others might say they don't help, but that's because of their academic record at school. Id highly recommend this school to other people.

Great assistance with teaching, scheduling of classes for the program you're taking, financial aid, career placement. They have themed days like Hawaiian or patriotic days, wonderful teachers and staff who are always willing to help you find answers to your questions. As long as you do your part, SJVC staff will do whatever they can to help you succeed. I know that Life can get in the way, but as long as you have the goal to finish what you need to finish, you'll do great!

Unlike most students say their experience was great I m not one of them. Last few weeks of my training my teacher got let go by a student who didn t know what they were talking about, leaving me and my other classmates hanging without no one to help us with our certification, except one lady who claims she ll do anything she can to help but her actions speak for herself, to this day I m struggling with my certification, also so unprofessional, for a lot more reasons. If I would of known how sjvc was I would of gone to another school that was worth paying for. Instead of listening to one student, think about what s best for other students, not all of them can agree with what the student had to say.

I would definitely recommend SJVC! I took the Pharmacy Technology program and and I can truly say that the instructors there are great and really in it to help prepare you for the field. I was in class for 7 modules and 120 hours at a local Walgreens. Took my state exam and Passed! Very appreciative with the staff that helped me!

I am a current student in the Medical Assistant program and it was the BEST decision I have ever made. I was not doing well at all in junior college and dropped out then came to SJVC fresno and got back on the right track. I have excellent grades and attendance and EVERYONE is always willing to help you out! You will never feel alone. Great atmosphere of people!

I am currently attending SJVC and I love it. Its the best I went to Community College and I wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Sjvc makes sure you get the classes u need to get your degree and get on with your life. They even know places that will babysit while your in class. The teacher are the best. All my teachers in the criminal justice classes have more than 20 year's experience in the field or is still working. They are up to date on everything that is going on. The real great thing is the classes are 5 weeks but you only go Monday through Thursday that's only 20 times in that claas. I love it. Plus everyone at the school is nice. They all have one goal. Get out and start their career. You can walk up to anyone and just start talking. Come to the school and find out for your self. This will be the best decision of your life.

I'm enrolled into the Business Administration program. It's best to know how determined you are about what career you plan on getting into for the fact that you have to give it your all to fully grasp what the courses have to offer. Discipline, determination, and confidence are what is needed to be a successful student.

I am currently going into my 8th Mod at Fresno Campus SJVC and I can honestly say I love it! The instructors are experienced, understanding and nice. I wish I would've enrolled a long time ago! Time is going by so fast and I'm actually going to be sad to graduate this fall. Thank you to all the staff, instructors and students for an awesome experience!

SJVC is a good school to go to if you want to study as a medical assistant in a short time. They have great hands-on learning program that helps you learn and they give you time to work with teachers in order for you to be able to learn and work on your skills and get better.

Wow. Didn t even get to the initial orientation. Lady got mad and stopped replying because I asked questions about the google reviews. Guess what everyone is saying about this school is true. Here s an idea SJVC, how about fixing some of your worst complaints from people that have paid the $17,000 for your school so you won t have to worry about it

I am currently an SJVC Fresno Medical Assistant student and I am really liking it here. I am in my second year and it is going by so fast. The teachers are amazing and very helpful and unlike any other college I am actually learning and don't feel invisible. I would highly recommend this school to anyone if you are planning on furthering your education.

Started getting harassing call 10 days after I was done with school saying to pay them in full or my account goes to collections. Long story
short, all I can say the person who said that I had the option of paying when I was done with school give me wrong information and now I'm stuck with a high past due balance for not knowing I had to pay it while I was in school.

Would not recommend the Vet Tech Program.

Would not recommend the Vet Tech Program.
The head of the program, Ms. Perez, is a cold, unhelpful, intimidating, woman with a tenderness comparable to wet cardboard. Ms. Newman, one of the teachers, is a shrill, unreliable, unfriendly woman who desires to drum you out. She's "done working at noon" and beyond recommending getting help from others is relatively useless. Strict regime policies are used to enforce their methods and beyond that it is ultimately an experience I would not recommend.
They are "The Best In the Central Valley" mostly because there is no competition and by default "are the best".
The program itself gets 2 stars, BUT I added an additional star because (despite it's staff flaws) you are provided with: a rolling backpack, all of your books, a few beginners medical tools, and they will also help you with the required testing to join the work force.

Beyond the vet tech program, the actual heros of the SJVC are those beyond the classroom. The counselors, the financial aid office, the front desk, the president, the head of students. I wish I could provide a separate review for them, but the school staff are the most helpful, compassionate, dedicated people you'll meet ever meet.

The rest of the school gets an outstanding 5 stars, going to the school and finding a program you love will be worth the experience.

An amazing institution

An amazing institution
Went here as a student from Feb 2019 until graduation Oct 2019. I was enrolled in the front office medical admin program. 7 months and upon graduation, I passed and got nationally certified for billing/coding. My teacher Ms.Hernandez was amazing, caring and knowledgeable. The school and its staff went above and beyond for me (I was unemployed at the time) and now I am employed and have actual hope for my future. It taught me a variety of skills that applied in many jobs for medical assistants. The bad? It won't teach you everything. It won't get you a Masters Degree and a six figure job. But that's not the point of this trade School. It's a start, a path to better prospects. It's made good on that so far =)

Attending SJVC is the most fun I've ever had in school. The instructors are great, the classes go by fast, and I'm learning so much! The whole staff is so helpful and are warm and welcoming to all of the students. I'm glad when I made the decision to go to school for Medical Assisting, I chose SJVC. :-)

There is a lady on this campus named Nancy that handles the prerequisite courses and every time I call she is so bubbly and happy to take my questions. You could see her smile through the phone ! I just enjoy her energy. I have been doing several calls this week to different campuses and they all seem bothered or annoyed to be receiving calls and their tone is so dry, but not with Nancy !

As hard as life gets, take the time to attend a REAL college. Where you won t be stuck with over $20k in student loans and FAFSA will actually benefit YOU. If you try to transfer to state or city, your credits from SJVC are worthless. Your GPA from SJVC means NOTHING. Sure you can transfer to other money hungry universities like National university. I m at Clovis Community College college now, where none of my units were transferable and my GPA meant nothing. I had no idea that I am almost all tapped out in FAFSA Pell grants because of how many units we had to complete with SJVC. They will NEVER tell you these things. Sure it might be in the fine print . It s to their benefit not to bring it up though. I got a job at a filthy clinic that was over the top disgusting and super rude to their patients just because they were on medical. SJVC has it coming to them, and I can t wait to be a part of that lawsuit. $30,000 for tuition and materials??? How in the heck is that!??? They take advantage of vulnerable people like single mothers and low income families. Their office staff changes more often than the seasons. Schools and businesses like this should be held accountable. $30k for an MA job that pays $15/hr?. Boy was I stupid! The 1 was for the wonderful instructors I had. They were great people!

This school is a place where you get to learn how to do things that you'll experience in the real field of medical assistanting, medical office assistant, dental assistant, etc. I lost track of how many moduels(classes) i had left till i got to my second to last class. I'm proud of myself getting a great education in the medical field that i got from great instructors.

For profit school. Useless education for student debt. Better off going to community college if you are unsure of what you want to study. Expect to be over 10 grand in debt with little to show for going to this school.
