Update: Just went here again. The service was TERRIBLE! The waitress couldn't be bothered with us. Really bad service

A+ job re-opening. The quality of the rooms, staff, service was perfect. Had not been since before they re-opened. Extremely comfortable and a destination in itself with endless things to love from the game room, to the newly opened deli, to the great bar and restaurant. Perfect high quality experience that the NW Corner desperately needed with shabby other alternatives.

I love staying at the White Hart Inn. Over several stays I have met several employees at reception. From late night arrivals, last minute trips, extended stays and my not so little dog everyone has been accomadatiing and kind. Avocado toast is my favorite for breakfast, but they always have tempting new dishes to try as well. Plus the beds are ridiculously comfortable.

At the moment you come to that restaurant the waiters give you a pleasant feeling. Very comfortable stuff, it is a friendly place to to go out with buddies or with your date. Great cuisine, talented chief cook and stuff, competitive price and professional service. Warmly recommended.

We went here with friends for brunch. The atmosphere was really lovely, tables set in what felt like someone's home. Warm and cozy with very nice servers who made you feel comfortable. The dishes were flavorful and delicious. The menu had a variety of items to satisfy any taste, even children. If you are in the area you should try it out. You will not be disappointed.

Came up to go fishing in the Housatonic River. There are certainly more convenient locations we could have stayed at but the White Hart is more than worth the extra travel. The room is so clean and cozy and large. We got the suite that has two bathrooms. Never had such a luxurious inn experience. The restaurant at the hotel is phenomenal. The Moroccan spiced chicken was great. (The olives in it should be more plentiful because they really pushed the dish over the top.) The strawberry rhubarb crumble for dessert was great too. Overall I'd recommend everyone make the trip out here.

My wife and I stay here frequently, and we are never disappointed. The hotel is beautiful, clean and run by an extremely efficient staff!
We are always made to feel welcome and treated royally.
If you are coming to this area I would highly recommend you staying at the location, Dan and his staff are truly in the business of customer service!

I went in for a coffee at the cafe. While the service was friendly and helpful, the actual coffee was undrinkable. They had burnt the gounds terribly. My guess would be that they don't rinse out and scrub the portafilter and/or associated parts after every shot. You need to, otherwise grounds from the previous shot get hit with hot high pressure water more than once resulting in a coffee that tastes very burnt. It's an all too common mistake in smaller shops unfortunately.

This place was good. The atmosphere was fantastic. It was calm, and it felt like it was in a hotel (it was.) The service was good. It was what you would expect and want from a restaurant - friendly and helpful. Now, food. The food was good. I ordered the smoked salmon on bread. I liked the bread and the smoked salmon. The fries were also good. They were crispy and tasty. I recommend sitting outside if you go to the White Hart.

This is a lovely property. Guest service is excellent and my room immaculate. While more expensive than a chain hotel, it offers personal touches such as included water and iced tea in the room as well as included breakfast. There's areas to lounge around the property and even cornhole on the front lawn. A charming hotel in a charming small town.

Quaint, clean, comfortable, friendly, classic, charming and quiet all come to mind. Everyone and everything was perfect but Rory was exceptional! From the time we called to say we were running late to the goodbye, he, and everything, was above and beyond. We got a nice upgrade to a 2 room suite with 2 bathrooms that was elegant and potentially the cleanest room I have ever had. I am the guy who pulls down the sheets to check for hair or stains or bugs. I like to look in the corners to see if they have been cleaned. I wear flip flops in the shower. Sometimes, I am embarrassed to admit, I have even been know to bring my own sheet and pillow case. This place was tasteful, and clean. The staff was polite and professional beyond expectations. Rory is from right out of a movie. Unbelievably attentive and professional. Besides the accommodations, the food was quite good so there is no need to leave the grounds if you don't want to. We had dinner in our room one night, dinner in the very charming 200 hundred something year old "pub" / dining space with original floors and wonderful fireplace, and we ate both our breakfasts at the on site White Hart Provisions which was a very cute little country bistro/cafe/provisions spot that is included with the price of the room. Just fill out the card from your room with your fruit, beverage, pastry, granola option and hand it in for an above average hotel breakfast experience. We were visiting with 2 small children from NYC to get a little R&R, some New England charm and a little child friendly skiing. This Inn made for the perfect home base. Perfect.

Great service. We had a super knowledgeable waiter that could answer all our questions. We only ate at the tavern, so compared to bar food it's fantastic. In general, well prepped nice ingredients with good composition. The kale Caesar salad was amazing, lamb burger was good, but the brioche bun was a bit dry and I felt the lamb was a tad under seasoned.

I stopped for a beer while traveling through town. The bar is beautiful and quiet. The bartender was especially accommodating and offered a few excellent drafts. My fellow travellers who had dinner noted the food was superb.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner at The White Hart Inn and everything was exquisite. The staff was easy to work with and very accommodating. The food was excellent, which was not surprising, as every time I have eaten there, the food has been consistently well-executed and delicious. The room set up for the dinner was stunning and everyone was raving about how much they enjoyed themselves.

Absolutely stunning stay. The main building is a fantastic piece of history, the restaurant is top notch, the grounds are beautiful, and the room (suite Room 9) was one of the most comfortable stays I have ever had. Absolutely luxurious room.

Had such a great meal on Friday - I had to go back for more on Sunday! If you are anywhere near Salisbury, CT take the time to have a meal or two at the White Hart. For one meal I sat in front of the lovely fire and ate maybe the best burger I've ever had. My daughter had some sort of vegetable tart and a salad. The greens looked like (and tasted like) they were just picked.

Sunday we went back for brunch and dined sitting in a cozy booth with five adults and two kids. It was perfect for a family meal and the staff could not have been friendlier. There was a lot of sharing going on - cinnamon donut holes, cranberry bread, a high fluffy stack of pancakes. Shepherd's Pie and a full English breakfast. And another burger.

The food, ambiance, service - all amazing!

This site is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. Whenever I want to go to a fair supper, this is the place that comes straightaway to my mind. superb and many types of food and a large list of dishes.helpful staff, and great spirit. Also important, the tariff is reasonable. I tell about this restaurant with no doubt.

Local dining spot. Went for Sunday breakfast. Good avocado toast is... good Informal, at least for breakfast it was. Not too many choices to eat in this area, so enjoy. Will always associate this with local John van Duyl and his network and family of friends here.
