i think they totally went off the charts with how bad support can get! words like terrible and horrible would be an understatement.. let me take you through my experience. they charge you an interest when your paypal subscription fails to deduct (note: i have a fully functioning paypal balance + credit card to back it up). no one likes to be charged interest when you're such a loyal customer who pays on time right? i pre-paid to avoid the interest because you know, they're so lenient and reasonable they would charge you interest ON TIME. oh.. wait, if this happens to you... they don't refund for pre-paid amounts. i should have expected it right? if you're thinking of hosting here... my advice is NO.. get something like shopify if you're going to start your business. uptime is great there too and u dont have to maintain your annoying monthly upgrades and people there are so nice!

When will Simple Helix fix their automatic subscription issues??? Despite having an automatic subscription in place through Paypal since April, Simple Helix systems glitched and suspended my business website for late payment. Incredibly lucky that one of our team was working in the back end of the site tonight and noticed the website was down with a big ACCOUNT SUSPENDED sign -- so we were able to fix it quickly with a manual payment.

When a business sets an account to automatic payment it is so that they don't have to keep checking payments have been taken out successfully each month -- why is this so difficult with Simple Helix ?

What is incredibly worrying, for my business, is just how many customers viewed the landing page with its single ACCOUNT SUSPENDED sign on it during the 1-2 hour window before we caught the issue and how many of those customers assumed we were out of business / or lost faith in our business ? All because a Simple Helix system did not work as it should ?

Customer support were unhelpful and unapologetic.

I had an issue with my site that required a backup...

I had an issue with my site that required a backup. I was having issues with my backup plugin so I had to request a restore on their end. First off I was going to be charged a $25 fee to do this. Ok, I don't think you should charge for that since we have never asked for it before but ok. Well, the person who handles billing is out on vacation and I can't login to the payment area to pay the invoice. Well, they won't restore the backup to fix our broken site that now doesn't work until we pay this $25 invoice. Crazy. You mean a $25 invoice that will get paid the next day is going to keep you from fixing my broken site today? I felt abandoned and helpless. Not a feeling you want when you need support. Horrible customer service. We will be moving elsewhere this week.

I want to show my full discontent with the attendant Ashley Morrison, because even being in trouble in our store and wanting to solve quickly, it was shown carefree in attendance, taking several minutes to give feedback on the chat SimpleHelix. It's a shame that the size of the company, has attendants not as efficient.

I have used at least 6 other hosting providers in ...

I have used at least 6 other hosting providers in the past and Simple Helix knocks spots off all the others I have used.
I am consistently surprised and delighted by the speed of tech response - 24/7 support means exactly that. Staff go above and beyond the call of duty to resolve issues. I have little tech knowledge and they are extremely patient with my silly questions and always resolve the issue for me.
I can't think of anything else to say except I would recommend Simple Helix 110% - seriously, this company is outstanding!

Amazing technical support. BEYOND terrible billing...

Amazing technical support. BEYOND terrible billing/customer service support. There is a complete lack of communication between these departments.
I have never in my life experienced such bad customer service. EVER. They made a mistake and forgot to backup my site due to a miscommunication between billing and technical support. I lost data ( no fault of theirs) and now have to pay a programmer to retrieve what he can from his old backup because of their error in not backing up the site- which i had paid for them to do. They refuse to talk over the phone to resolve the issue with us. And offered only to refund the amount we already paid in backup fees (which is a moot point since there is was no backup made)- Rather than offering a more reasonable solution. Its a fight over $55. Which clearly is worth more to them then a customer that pays $195 a month in hosting fees to them.
Really shocked. And so disappointed.

This is the worst hosting company I have ever worked with! We have had several issues receiving emails from our customers. Called to resolve the issue and encountered horrible customer service from both IT and billing. The IT Rep said he spoke to the CTO and there was nothing they could do. WOW!!!! They were not even willing to resolve the issue or credit us. We have been paying for a service that we are not receiving for several years. We are a small business and receiving our emails are vital to our business. Beware and do not sign up!

We have moved 5 production web and database server...

We have moved 5 production web and database servers over to Simple Helix in the last few years to empower many high traffic websites for our international non-profit. Simple Helix have been fantastic in every area, including on boarding, migration assistance, support and the server performance. They are so fast to respond to support requests, and are very patient to help us learn their system. After working with many other hosting providers I couldn't be happier with Simple Helix and definitely want to stick with them for the long term!

I've been using Simplehelix for a couple of years ...

I've been using Simplehelix for a couple of years over several sites. My most recent site, on a shared hosting plan, regularly goes down due to PHP scripts run by other users on the server. This has happened three times that I know of (Simplehelix does not inform you of any outages) and each time the response has been that they are going to look into the issues. Today was the last straw -- I'm pulling all of my hosting from the company. I spend heavily on Google's AdWords to drive users to my sites; I lose money every time the site goes down. Further, Simplehelix does not consider time in which the server is not responding as downtime -- rather the server being actively connected to the internet seems to mean its up. As a result, Simplehelix claims their 99.9% reliability is met; it isn't - I was down for 35 minutes today alone.

I'm willing to overlook occasional issues, but the quality of service that I receive from this hosting company has fallen off a cliff over the past calendar year. I'll never be back - don't make the same mistake I did.

Have been using Simple Helix to host our Magento store for almost 2 years, the loading speed is super fast and their service is amazingly prompt. Whenever I open a ticket I receive their response within one hour and usually the job can be done within 2 hours.

Honestly speaking that's not something I would expect from an American company - most of them so f**king slow in doing anything.

I have to detail a security breach situation cause...

I have to detail a security breach situation caused by Simple Helix tech support.
My name and email was supposed to be removed from a client account on October 31, 2014. Today is June 16, 2015 and my email address was CC'd in an unexpected trouble ticket thread initiated by my former client who could not log into their account.
Realizing this was not something I should be privy to I immediately replied to the thread and requested my email be removed from it.
I received an email acknowledgement within 14 minutes saying "Per Matt Perosi's request, we have removed him from the account." Yet, 8 hours later my email address is sill involved with this trouble ticket thread and their support person just sent me the complete login credentials.
I realize this is a very unusual situation, but there are many website consultants that work temporarily for different companies all the time. Shouldn't Simple Helix have a perfected system to remove us consultants from customer accounts once our contracts expire?
They've just handed me the keys to an account I should not have access to and created a situation whereby I could be accused of harming a website I am no longer affiliated with.
Simple Helix is a good company, but I'm giving them 1 star here to call a lot of attention to this situation and to alert their customers to make sure you properly have SEO consultants removed from your accounts once consulting contract have expired.

The migration process was actually really good - the competitive prices and generous features are also a great plus but the support I have received since joining SimpleHelix has been sub par.

Although the live chat is 24/7, they cannot actually do anything but open a ticket - in which you receive a generic response everytime.

I asked why PUT requests were being blocked by SimpleHelix and was told "we block them for security purposes" but they work perfectly on my other SimpleHelix account?

Once again, even after proving PUT requests are working on the other account, I get the same response - We block them for security purposes..

I will be moving away from SimpleHelix as soon as I find a more suitable host!

Customer service is very good! However my ip address is getting blocked 2-3 times a day for some unknown reason. All of my email accts are set up with the correct password.

Supper annoying... I keep having to talk w chat who again are nice and helpful but it takes up time!

The BEST magento hosting company! Highly recommended! Most knowledgeable support about magento, better skills on magento all around than my developers, willing to help on any issues that we come across all the time. Best support I've ever experienced. We migrated over from Rackspace which was pretty good support also but was pretty expensive compare to Simple Helix and Simple Helix offers a lot better supports as far as even resolving some of the magento issues that we come across. Site wide Audit for the server setting was done and executed by simple helix team.

I've worked with a number of hosting providers in the last 10+ years. I must say that Simple Helix has been a very pleasant surprise since I inherited the relationship when I started with Enve. The support and billing staff go above and beyond to help out. It's rare to have a company in this field be proactive in their assistance with a support matter instead of just being reactive. So, if I need help with a single situation, they are likely to look at the whole picture and offer suggestions to avoid a problem in the future or address something that we would not have thought of. I would certainly recommend them.

My website was hacked. I asked your team to delete the infected content and replace it with a backup from last week. The technical guy told me that it will not solve the problem. I am very surprised by this statement. I am not technical, but this is a logical way of solving the problem unless something is wrong with your backup or security measures. I am not happy with your technical support because your customers would need your support in such crises.

I am with SimpleHelix for about 1.5 Years, and i never had such a great service and support. I was a customer of another well known company and i had a dedicated server here managed many websites for my business. After certain time i found them 2 years ago and decided to slowly switch over because of the hardware configuration is SUPER attractive for same price i was paying to other company. Every time i called Support to discuss any matters, their team is always on the line and pick up the phone right away without any waiting. When sampan picks up the phone i have a feeling that person is administrator or like a supervisor talking (professional) and knows right away what to do or how to complete the task. Or an another example: I send them a ticket with my issues, and the tickets gets answered within a minutes, not like 2 - 3hours like you would expect from another companies.

Overhaul, I am super happy with the service i get and the support from Great Team, and the Performance of my server.

This has got to be the worst hosting experience I've had right next to Network Solutions. Through a server upgrade for space, the company neglected to share that the migration would also upgrade the PHP version which would greatly impact legacy code.

They have repeatedly made security changes to the hosting server which have greatly impacted our developers ability to work and also impact our websites. Highly not recommended.

They do not notify clients if their hosting is down, their support is less than immediate as it seems they outsource a majority of their services they offer. Additionally, we have had major hosting problems over the year with our site being down most of a day, and they offer little to no billing credit. Over 4 years of hosting with them, and we are looking to move over.
