Excellent very good treatment and easy access to all areas, very fast everything
Arrived from a trip and their screens remove the flight details including where the baggage claim belt number when plane lands ???? So you have no idea where the luggage is. My husband was told by some who works there , the bags might be at # 2 or 4. I have never seen such nonsense. There are signs above belts but no airline info. This place looks nice but it is a very weird airport.
Airport is really improving with more shops and services
Quick clean and efficient. One star off because most the restaurants were closed due to construction. 5 stars when everything is up and running!
Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport is easy to park at and leave. It is clean, not very large and they are still doing some great upgrades.
The newly upgraded areas are large so you do not feel crowded and kept clean. They have lots of natural light and quite a few small eateries to choose from, some with seating.
I like flying into this airport when going on a cruise, very close to the seaport, or when driving to anywhere North of Miami when in Florida.
As a South Florida native, I use this airport all the time, closer, cost effective and less crazy than most city airports.
Worse place to go too. No system at all especially if your flying internationally.
This place makes JFK look good. What a chaotic disaster of an airport.
Not everyone is wearing their masks and the airport isn't enforcing it properly. The flights are on time, though. and I like the renovations taking place.
I live near this airport so need to fly in and out of FLL often (I will choose PBI if I can). Compared to other airports its size, the choice of restaurants, as well as the number of choices of restaurants/food court is disappointing. The service is slow at best. It is 2019 and they still don t have water bottle filling stations at the water fountains?!? The baggage carousel area only displays the incoming flights on the monitor maybe half the time. Fort Lauderdale is the cruise capital .... why can t the airport stay with the times?
Run! Run! Run! The worst air service ever!!! Well first thing first we were traveling out of ft. Lauderdale (fll) to freeport,bs on July 24,2013.just like every well prepared passenger I was there 2.5 hours early for a flight that was scheduled to leave at 1:30 p.m. while waiting for my flight the entire a/c system in the airport went out (fll) then as soon as I learned that I also learned that my flight was delayed until 2:30. 2:30 came and no flight and no update. 3:00 p.m. came and the update was the flight will be delayed until 4:30. So as you can imagine we have been is a hot, sweaty airport for 6.5 hours. 4:30 rolls around and yes still no flight and no updates. 5:00 p.m. finally hits and there is an update the flight should be at fll 5:30 so now I have been in this airport for 8.5 hours. I finally board the plane at exactly 5:45 p.m. I had to wait 8.5 hours for a 30 minute flight to freeport,bs. now on the way back my flight was schedule to leave freeport,bs at 5:30 p.m it was delayed until about 7:00 p.m. and when the plane arrived I had to wait outside while the airport workers loaded the plane up with luggage and carry a full conversation with each other. The ride back to fll was just as bad as the flight from fll on Bahamas air. Never again will I travel with Bahamas air it was horrible. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Thanks for nothing.
La Familia Tacos at this airport gave me food poisoning. And I witnessed TSA harass a grandmother who was almost 100yro. TSA at this airport are incompetent people. I won t ever fly through here again.
Airport was clean , signs were easy to follow to get to my location. No complaints here.
This airport is similar to what you would expect in a third world country. The AC cannot cool or accommodate the space at full capacity in the summer months. There s mostly newsstands, a Starbucks and a pizza place for snacks and dining. The terminals are outdated and in need of an update. I will avoid using this airport when traveling to FL in the future. Use the Palm Beach Airport or Miami.
Great airport! Convenient location in broward county.
It is warm in here unlike other airports further up north that can be colder. But this is Florida. What i really like is that the airport is clearly labeled. I don't have to ask questions as everything was cold and clear as you can see in the pictures. The environment is clean. Lots of shops around for last minute grabs. I would recommend. There is good strong WIFI which is a plus especially for a traveller. You can connect and communicate as necessary. Unlike other airports that may have a time limit.
International airport, little commerce but excellent location for people living in North Miami
Great airport , its just there was a shooting and yall should get a neck for letting that shooter in with a gun, that's an L :/
can be tricky at times, be prepared for long waits, but overall good experience, i completed everything online so it made my check in smooth.
Over capacitated airport. Very outdated. Smells like my Michigan basement. I thought Detroit was bad but I had no idea!
Car rental shuttle service is in inadequate. Waited nearly 20 minutes for the shuttle. Bathrooms in terminal 2 are terribly crowded.
Very disappointed the customs took 3 hours before we got to the customs officers its total disaster and when u complain the said the only limited people work in the morning 4 planes arrived and the only have 5 agents we lost out flight and we had to wait at the airport for 12 hours late for work my children were exhausted and disappointed. They should get more agents it's a total mess. Hopefully the authorities read this comment it's now fair for customers to wait 3 hours to check with customs .
A busy airport, but alot of services, food options, and helpful staff
In this time of covid 19 the airport looks great and clean.
Little or No A/C on Terminal 1 in June?!?! Whatever happened to the A/C?
This airport is dirty and overcrowded. There is not enough seating for passengers and the food costs as much as a fine French restaurant. Avoid this hell hole at all costs.
Worst airport ever .. if you don't have a 4 hour layaway, you will miss your connection flight !! They receive more airplanes than what they can handle .
Not many food choices once you go thru security. I was early to check my bag and was told I was too early. There was a line to wait to check my bag which snaked all the way outside near the road where departures would be dropped off.
Change your Flight ticket or cancel it (888)USA 589-1015 as Hurricane Dorian will hit USA.
The companies, which include Southwest and American, offer travel exemptions as the storm travels from the Caribbean to Florida. Open a new window. . Airlines are already working with passengers traveling through the southern US. To reschedule their flights before Dorian's arrival.
The airport is clean, but the staff are rude ... I did fly with Silver airline and it was the worst fly ever. Aircraft was tiny, dirty and noisy , I will never fly with them EVER again !
Delta terminal. We were removed from the baggage claim line (with an upset 17 month old no less) because our flight was 2.5 hours from takeoff. They told us they could only accommodate checking baggage if your flight was within the next 2 hrs. What? We were forced to wait on the floor and eventually get in line for a second time. Never had this experience ever anywhere in the US or internationally. Get it together FLL Delta. There is nothing to do in the terminal and several areas smell like an ashtray.
You travel comfortably for attention quickly and professionally
I love flying out of this airport. Its always fast and never a hassle
Neat bathrooms and spacey areas. It was easy to get around by and the staff was nice.
The airport has lights that are very dim and ceiling is too low for customers
It is so cold. We kindly ask workers to do something about the tempeture but the were rude and didnt even care. This is really bad. Outside is very cold but in the airport its worst.
It is an efficient and comfortable airport, it has wi-fi, some nice places to eat, and several car rentals. In general, a nice airport. Could have more places to layover.
First time flying in. Easy to navigate, nice airport. Nice staff. Could have more food options
This is mainly for One immigration officer. I don t recall his name but he was on gate #8 this morning at 7:30am on 1/7/2019. I filled up the aduana form and I made a mistake on the question about if you have brought food, animals, vegetables from out of the country. I ve arrived with my support dog who traveled to Peru with me for the holidays and back therefore I ve miss understood the question. I just thought it was another type of animal brought to the country for the first time. Either way he was RUDE and somehow racist with his own people I must say because he was not a white man. He was a black Latino man or maybe a black man. I don t know who he think he is because even if he is an immigration officer he should respect people. I am also an American citizen born in Peru and the way this officer treated me was really offensive. 1) he didn t reply to my greeting he was already in a bad mood I can tell 2) he repeated many times why I didn t understood the question about animals. I explained to him I made a mistake but he acted as I committed something barbaric. I had my dog in front of me. I was not trying to hide my dog and he acted as I was lying that I didn t bring my dog. I mean what? I was confused and scared of this man! He even menaced me with giving me a fine for lying when it was an obvious mistake!! My daughter was scared as well, I mean wow! Great welcome back to the USA. I only imagine that if he treated me that way, I wonder how he treats the visitors. Do you think that because you have a uniform you can treat people that way? No sr. On Top of everything I had to say I m sorry after your verbal attack when I was actually not sorry! You just basically called me stupid for not understanding the question and kept shouting at me! I really really hope someone from USCIS can read this and maybe teach you some manners. I m sorry if you we NOT having a good day but you can t just terrified people the way you did to me! I really hope someone can stand up to you and do what I didn t. I had a daughter and a dog and I had to work this morning otherwise believe me I would have!
Dont have much to say other then keep up the good work
One of the worst airports I ve ever been to in my life. Unconnected terminals without a usable shuttle. Extremely slow food service. Entire floors of a terminal with no bathrooms. Staff just blatantly lies about flights being on time, even when it s beyond apparent that they will be late.
One of the worst airports we've been to in USA. $5 for a bag trolley. The carpets and seats at gates are dirty, food pieces under arm rests, toilets dirty, sinks full of hairs.
Horrible super horrible, very bad attention they took care of me very badly, I do not speak English and nobody helped me, in the United line it was horrible the treatment of two workers who treated me badly no matter that they came with my 7 year old daughter. None wanted to help me with my chekin, they were rude to me. I missed the flight despite arriving 2 hours in advance.
I have taken more then one flight out of here people are so nice when your on the plane such great service
I dropped off my rental car at the centralized parking structure. The building was nice, seemed relatively new, and the drop-off went smoothly. The signage to exit the building was poor however.
The trouble began with the bus that takes you to the terminal. It may be possible to walk to terminal 3, however, there is no signage indicating whether or not that is the case. The line for the bus was quite long, and the bus was slow in coming. There were a lot anxious passengers in that line waiting without any information was to when a bus would be coming.
Security was relatively painless, as was check-in.
The terminal itself (3 and 4) were fine. The food options weren't great, but they were okay. I found Krispy Kremes at several locations so that is a definite plus. The bathrooms were clean but dated.
Worst airport in the world, staff is utterly inefficient and disinterested in providing good service. Had to wait for 3 hours to go through border control and it wasn't even that busy. The airport is small and it seems no one really knows what they're doing. Total joke, will not be using this airport again.
Great airport! Way less busy than Miami International. Whenever I'm traveling within the US, this is always my first choice.
Place is horrible if you re coming here to save money don t waste your time we were running behind because of a serious accident on the interstate we would have made our plane but we had to spend over 30 minutes looking for parking in their long-term parking area which says there was parking
Not recommended spend the extra money go to your local airport
I really don't like this airport. Parking is confusing. You won't find signs letting you know where to park in order to be near your airline. Then, depending where you park, it's like a labyrinth trying to find your way to your terminal. They only have a couple of places to eat once you are by the gates. Food is awful and very, very pricy. They charge whatever they want for awful food simply because you have no other option. This airport is so busy, a lot of times you won't find a seat to rest until you are ready to get on the plane. I am not sure if it's because airfare prices are lower at this airport but the demographic is nothing less than low class. No offense, but true. Rude people. As I said, you might not find a seat to rest and yet you will see people leaving their backpacks and luggage on the seat next to them, as others stand. Women's restroom had no soap last time I was there.
I hate FLL for the way its setup. There are 4 terminals and depending on what Airline you're taking off with, or arriving with, determines what terminal you need to be at. Generally, it's not very difficult, but makes it very annoying if you fly often and use a variety of airlines to get here. It might make things speedier as far as pick up and drop off go, since you're breaking it up, but in the end, it's a huge pain in the ass, and it's not like you can easily walk from one terminal to another without having to brave Florida's humidity. They're not too far from each other, but definitely a good 10 minute walk outside. Otherwise, the security has always been pretty speedy, but in some terminals is rather ridiculous how often they check your ticket. Not too many food options, but decent enough.
We sat at the bar for nearly one hour waiting for our order. The bar tender came back after we complained and stated our ticket was lost. A nice server went to get the manager in charge. Finally, their solution was to remove the order for the food, and still charge us for the 2 beers! The manager was ride and said she comped us, when in fact she just removed the charge a d the food itself. UNBELIEVABLE! AWFUL setvice!!!
Infinitely more convenient to travel through versus Miami International Airport (MIA). I always try and travel through here, even when living in Miami, it was far more efficient.
I went through American Airlines, and it was great. No lines, quick bag drop off.
My experience with my lovely aunt was very pleasant. The Southern airlines crew was very kind with my aunt .
The TSA agents was so kind and respectful. Thank you so much.!!!!
Dont like this airport.
I rather fly from MIA
We had good experience with the Airport, we liked it.
My one star gives to the car rental company - Hertz. Be alert when rent a car there because:
Hertz hurts!
About my car rental at FLL Hertz, I got unexpected extra charge of $158.49 USD for GPS (so-called NeverLost) and there is no way to ask for help. I need help because I clearly declined the NeverLost, along with other offers when picking up a car, for example, a larger car (rather than a small one as I booked online), LDW, LIS, PAI PEC, PREM RD SVC. I told the staff on screen (yes, he was on a screen, not behind a counter) that I have my own GPS, I don't need his system. He verbally accepted my decline but actually still charged me. Due to tiredness of my fly, the staff speaking on the screen, and so many offers to deal with at the same time, I could only find the extra charge when I was returning the car. At the moment when I found it, I made my disagreement to a Hertz staff. He suggested me I should call Hertz customer relations/billing after 24 hours of returning the car. He said there is tape recorder that can prove I said NO. I thought yes, I did the rental process with the screen guy electronically. It makes sense to have a tape recorder for any dispute. However, back home, I called the number (for customer relation and billing). An woman answered me that they DON'T have tape recorder to verify it! I insisted the Hertz staff at FLL said so. Then the woman gave me a phone number for Hertz at FLL and suggested me to call them because she is in Oklahoma so she can't help! Without help from the customer relation, I called FLL several times, it turned out this number didn't help. No people really answered me.
Now I felt I was robbed because I didn't have enough experience to deal with such a situation. I hope my bad experience could arm others for their own best interest.
Hertz really hurts!
It was a quick easy organized airport not too busy not too slow !
Big and organized airport. It's really easy to get there and find where do you wanna go.
Everything closed 2 hours before flight departure 23:45 ...
Smaller airport, but great cuban restaurants &great service
Fairly clean. Easy enough to navigate. Unfortunately they have fake news blasting every 10 feet or so. Also, I have never seen seen as many dogs running around off leash.
I had a connecting flight from FLL to and from Jamaica. BOTH flights were delayed 6-8 hours, not because of weather conditions, but because of the absence of our plane, flight attendants, and a bunch of other nonsense excuses. I will never ever ever be returning to this airport EVER again. The staff was not helpful in updating the customers about delays, the screens at the gates were never updated, gates were changed a billion times. No thank you.
This is one of the worst airports I've ever been to. You have to walk outside between terminals and it is a long distance between them. There supposedly is a shuttle between terminals but it only goes in one direction and stops for at least 10 minutes at each long term parking lot. It took me 45 minutes on the shuttle to go from terminal 4 to terminal 1. It takes a out 35 minutes to walk the only place to eat at the C gates is a Chilies. If you can try the West Palm Beach airport
Pretty airport and the staff was great however a BIG fail here in basic logistic of volumes of people. There is NO WHERE to even sit down as of Saturday morning till now , 2 pm. How much room and seating space is occupied by TWO Hudson News or Auntie. Anne's here at the SOUTHWEST gates? People sitting in the floor, sitting along the hallways, 10 lbs of sausage in a 5 lb sack.
#fortlauderdaleairport, #southwestairlines
Cheap to fly to but staff is horrible. 4th time dealing with it this year.
Small ~ crowded ~ virtually no concessions ~ insufficient seating ~ the WORST airport Wi-Fi I've experienced....Ft. Lauderdale is certainly capable of better.
90% of people waited with me in the line for costoms had to rebook there flight connection. The workers don't know how to manage the crowd and at the end I waited 2 hours after we land just to see the costoms. One thing for sure, I won't use Spirit as my flight company any more.
After passing the costoms you technically left the airport what means you need to be processed again in the security. Doesn't make any sense. Waste of time and money!
The airport is not very modern, seems to be very dated. It is very easy to travel here, we never have gotten here with more than an hour before takeoff and we always make the flight. I refer it over Miami if you have a choice.
I was in Terminal 2. Small, cramped, and nothing to do, shop, or eat. Very dingy and outdated. Only food was a Starbucks and Maui Grille. Fly somewhere else, if affordable.
