Don't like any airport. A necessary evil if you want to fly.

Workers do not know anything about flights, There are no televisions with arrival orders in the international wing

We spent about 5 hours at the airport as we waited for our flight. The airport was very clean, relaxing and easy to navigate. The newer part of the airport is cozy, with lots of sitting area, clean tables, and very well kept clean bathrooms. Since there are a few restaurants on that section we were able to make phone calls, and relax without feeling too overwhelmed or grossed out.
The TSA officers were friendly and kept lines moving quickly and effectively doing their jobs.

You most remember for carrying on bag/backpacks:

Liquids, gels, aerosols, creams and pastes must be 3.4 ounces (100 ml) or less per container. I had to throw out a very expensive German cream because it was 12oz. Also bottles of water/drinks will be disposed.

Despite been upset about the expensive cream I had to get rid of , the officer was sympathetic and gave me the option to try to save the cream, by suggesting to send it via mail/FedEx. Unfortunately, I didn't want to go through the whole check in process all over again. However; I was able to keep the empty box. Which allowed me to search for it online. . Besides that, the experience at this airport was pleasant.

Free WiFi at an airport cannot be stressed enough. Especially in the United States. Couldn't get to my lounge though.

Worst airport I've ever! Took 3 hours to pass through boarder control, absolute joke!

Worst airport experience in a very long time. First they were huge sticklers about our personal items fitting tn their little model. I've used the same backpack for many trips and have never been questioned, much less made to remove anything. I know for a fact my backpack fits under the seat in front of me because I flew with it here. Then, while going through security, a tsa officer picked up my daughter's boarding pass and called her name to go through the easy metal detector rather than the big scanner thing. Nice, right? Wrong. she then promptly list my daughter's boarding pass (that she took out of the bin with my daughter's belongings). Not only did they refuse to look for it, they totally brushed us off and told us we could get another one printed at the gate. Except there's no one at the gate and we aren't even sure if this is true. If not, we're gonna be super late.

One star for plane to be able and land in that place, the airport staff and building big gap to get good

It s way too cold in the terminals - especially the Jetblue terminal. What a waste of County money. The AC is running at full speed on the coldest day of the year! The staff have been complaining about this issue for years - but nothing gets done!!!

Airports are like hospitals, you only go when you have to. Realize this is one of the busiest airports in the US and plan for plenty of extra time to get in and out.

Great airport. I always end up on a plane going from point A to point B. Solid.

The staff are great. TSA though needs to be a little more mindful of how they treat people. Most disrespectful TSA agents work here.

Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale airport is less than five minutes from the best beaches in the world.Fort Lauderdale beach,Hollywood Beach with its boardwalk,John U Lloyd State Park beach. 10 minutes to shopping at Las Olas Blvd. boutique shops and restaurants. Galleria shopping mall on sunrise Boulevard tree shop Neiman Marcus, Macy's, Dillard's,H&M.. with find restaurants such as capital Grille and a food court. It's less than a 10 minute drive to the center of Port Everglades an all of the cruise ships. Less than 5 miles to Fort Lauderdale Beach Park the highest rated largest beach.

Always a pleasure to leave and arrive at this airport. Clean and big and looking like new with all their gadgets. (Airlines are a different story. ) But thia airport is nice.

All I'll say is Its better than MIA, BUT not by much. I came back from a flight from Vegas in august of 2016, and they were doing welding work in the parking garage, to do this they completely blocked off the handicapped crosswalk from the airport to the garage, causing me to walk half a mile to my car. I walk with a cane, and should have sued!

Overcharged for water. Sign mismarked. Went to get manager. Waited over 15 minutes for the manager. Bullcrap!!

Second time there and this visit was worse. dirty facility, rude service, We had to change planes, had to leave one building go outside, walk to another terminal and through security all over again.

Some of the airport associate need to get customer service training all over again. We aren't from FL so when you ask for some help these associates are just so rude and nasty. That not how customer should be treated when asking for some help. Even those people that ask for boarding pass at the scan line are so rude. This will be the last time I would consider coming back after this horrible cusycust service.

Spirit attendants were wonderful, the wheelchair assistant crew was great, but he didn't know the system. The TSA officers need customer service training. I had precheck so I don't have to take my laptop out, but the wheelchair attendant tells me to take me laptop out the bag. He works there and coming to FL, I had to take it out in precheck. The TSA officer says no, so I put it back in, but she also yells at me "put the laptop back in the bag, you are holding up the line". There were three people who talking at one time. I really got confused, but I did what the officer said, then I said to one of them. There are too many people giving directions. Then the one that yelled at me pulls all my bags to be checked. If you don't know how to be patient with people and how to speak to them with respect, you shouldn't work in customer service.

The closest example to a "third world" airport you may find in the U.S from a world traveler perspective. The "shiny" exterior and businesses distract from the truly horrible service (outdated signs, people undertrained or don't care about their jobs, lack of accommodations or correct info for injured/wounded/handicap to move between terminals). Traveling internationally, first line personnel were not equipped to support customers with atypical situations but not complicated. Furthermore, translation and order of the service were dictated by non-official personnel (people with a conflict of interest ), and individual airlines allowed passengers to skip a line while others were required to reschedule flights. A host of inferior directions compounds the problems the airport. Many Airline personnel were curt and when confronted with the problems generated from the airline or airport they were quick to blame the customer as a first response. For example, delay in transferring luggage was my fault according to the airline service woman ; not security. When confronted with the option I would go get verification from security, the airline changed their mind about charging me for the delay. Until this point, the people were substandard in service...we even after...they lost some of my luggage.
Positives - when I needed help an employee did help locate proper terminal when ( lost) directed to walk through the parking lot with 4 bags and a injured back. ( yes! I was directed to run through the parking lots - multiple - to make it on time to a connecting flight).
The airport may be good for domestic flights (but don't know), but can't recommend for international. However, they managed to lose some of my luggage on a direct flight. Yes- all of this occurred and more on this trip. Two stars instead of one is because it may have the service of a defunct bus company, it did not look that way.

Airport is ok...the only thing that sucks it is that it takes forever to get through the body scanners at the TSA checkpoint

Love flying out or into this airport early morning or late night. The flow is easy and it is quite.

Completely horrible. International arrivals area is a complete mess. Baggage claim area is small, smells horrible, and is very slow. Immigration area is also little and uncomfortable. And areas with rug floor always smell ugly. I've been flying in many airports in America, Latin America and Europe, and I can totally say that the Fort Lauderdale International airport its the worst I've seen and experienced.

Ft. Lauderdale concessions are a joke. I have no idea how a tourist dependent airport can staff the food providers (too few) with such incompetent and unmotivated employees. This place is an absolute disgrace.

Very rude lady who works at American Airline security in the front. I have never seen someone who wouldn t let anybody go because of the way the big looks. One other person was having the same problem. Airport needs an upgrade. There are no chargers which is basic at any airport. Will try to avoid this airport.

This airport is horrible , the staff is very rude and gave me attitude. These people are unprofessional and need to be trained on some manners, no help at all! Not only that but checking in and going through security is ridiculous very unorganized and takes for ever!

I love flying out of FLL (except on Spirit). Security's usually pretty quick and we'll staffed. Efficient airport for business travel.

What is wrong with Ft Lauderdale airport? Twice now I have arrived a little early only to have to wait more than 30 minutes on a gate? What is wrong with this airport? Get people that know how to get you off your plane

Refrigerator.... unrealistic frost at the airport. If you want to have a health problem, run across the fort lauderdale airport..

I never been here before but I hope this is a good airport

Great, modern, medium sized airport. My only complaint is that there needs to be more security in the baggage claim area due to numerous thieves pretending to be Uber or taxi drivers.
