Terminal 3 the worst dump of an airport termnal in the universe. Overcrowded, insufficient services, just plain awful.
No trolleys at drop off, only "redcaps" hanging around like vultures.

Park is very nice and quiet a place to relax while you watch the planes come in and rewind down

They're doing some remodeling so there were lots of places that weren't open but still better then flying out of Miami.
Joke of an airport- terrible signage on the roadways entering the airport, parking garages poorly signed, signs in Cypress Garage direct you to pay before returning to your vehicle at a Quick Pay Station when there are no Quick Pay Stations anywhere to be found, poor food choices, terrible layout, under construction, overcrowded and too small for the amount of passengers it is currently serving. A total dump!!!!
Airport had about 7 departures out of one terminal roughly the same time. Mass confusion for everyone. Other terminals were open and available but went unused.
My recent once a month travels continue to find the restrooms dirty. This is a tourist destination, unacceptable.
Maybe we're just here at a bad time. Everything is under construction and there's some kind of connectivity void. AT&T data is terrible. Verizon data is terrible. Airport wifi is just as bad.
All services were easily accessed and the staff as a whole was polite and knowledgeable.
So, just wanted to give a heads up to ALL travelers with kids, FLL is NOT going to be fun! Yes I completely agree with the other posts about how close it is to the port, that is definitely the (only) PLUS, but once we arrived it was ALL down hill from there. We arrived to the airport with about 4 hours until our flight. Few things to keep in mind:
1. ALL ships in port have guests headed to this airport (or MIA) and it will be CRAZY hectic.
2. The line for curbside service was about 30 min and in door was probably about 1 hour.
3. We have TSA precheck, so the line was pretty good.
Once in Delta's Terminal
4. ONE bathroom for the entire terminal.
5. Only name brand/recognizable eatery is Starbucks
-1 bagel shop
-1 fast food place, Miami Grill which the line is CRAZY long and no where to sit
-1 pizza shop
-1 bar area (which the service was good, they do not serve food but the waitress will get food from the pizza takeout for you)
-1 Hudson News stand
6. Almost ALL the seats were taking even the ones on the floor, you can forget trying to get a seat with 4 travelers together
7. Wifi was good when I finally could connect to it
8. You CANNOT access the other terminals without leaving and going back through TSA
9. Looks like its under construction, kinda think they should have rethought this
Sorry to sound negative but I want to warn other parents about what to expect perhaps the other terminals are better
my travel date was 1/28/17
I am sorry to sound negative
Nice little airport, easy to get around, for a small airport decent restaurants and bar. If you have a choice this is far easier than Miami. You can walk everywhere in a few minutes. Miami is all trains etc. Beach is close by too! Traffic can be bad though at rush hour times so don't leave it to late to go there.
Getting picked up at the airport is a nightmare. There is no traffic organization. But checking in is a breeze.
Parking here is horrible...and signs can be confusing. Be prepared to get lost or circle and come back around if you're picking up at Arrivals. You're not allowed to stop and wait very long when picking up....so best to arrive after they have exited the building. It can be dark at times and hard to see. There is a " Cell phone waiting area" but the sign is hard to see, down on the left somewhere after you pass Car Rental Returns area. The road is narrow not good for larger vehicles and curves around for a while, until you finally get to a few limited narrow parking spaces...there you can wait until your arriving passengers call your cell phone...thus the name. They don't allow parking along the roadways, etc...so just keep moving and eventually you will find the parking area, or your passengers will arrive. If you are traveling and leaving your car, then that's not too bad, there is ample parking on and off site...just give yourself plenty of time to do so or you will miss your flight. It will be challenging for first timers, but eventually you will get to know how to maneuver your way around.
Almost missed my connecting flight due to baggage claim. And its not the first time. People handling baggage claim for spirit, yes did what they needed to do but then were on their phones . Felt like they didn't care. It's just really slow for such a small airport
If you are have to go through customs, it will take 3+ hours to get out of customs. You will likely have to wait on your plan and then after wait in hours of lines. Make sure to plan your transferring flights accordingly
Breezed through TSAPre security and to the gate in minutes. Had time for a burger before boarding.
This place is an absolute mess. Delays all over, not enough space for all the passengers, absurd pricing even by airport standards and a customs process that makes me ashamed for my country. Avoid at all costs, find a different way to get here.
TSA was quick to get through. Easy to check your bags (we flew Southwest). The food was overpriced of course but BurgerFi was delicious!
I want to cancel the insurance, and the two-and-a-half-hour telephone call is not answered!
The food service in terminal 4 was terrible on April 14th. The first location was Cross Grain Brewhouse before security. We had drinks & a pretzel. The bartender had called off so the drink menu was limited. The air conditioner was out in the airport & the employees seemed more concerned about being hot then their customers. The second was Kafe Kalik located near the gates. We ordered nachos & a burger with fries. We got the nachos & fries after 30 minutes. I had my fries eaten by the time my burger arrived. My wife finally received her drink after finishing her nachos. We had to ask for a bill. This was my first experience at this airport & I wasn t impressed after spending $75 on food & drinks. I would not recommend eating at these locations if you are in a hurry.
They had a fire alarm go off so we were evacuated for about 11/2 hrs. It only delayed our flight about 30 minutes. Smooth sailing after that.
This airport smells like pee in some parts, bleach in others. The restaurants are dirty with sticky floors. Not one place serves a remotely decent cup of coffee. Only reason it gets a star is because they display a long corridor of employee art.
Otherwise. Ew. Just yuck.
This place is a simple and small airport also close to Miami. If you want to avoid the crowded Miami Airport, this could be a option.
Waited 20 minutes by Jet blue security line because there were no TSA agents at their post causing long lines and backups
I flew out and into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport for my recent flights between Fort Lauderdale and San Francisco. My flight out was on Jet Blue and I took advantage of parking on-site in the long-term Hibiscus Garage and walked over to terminal 3 for my Jet Blue flight. It was a bit of a walk from where I parked and I laughed but followed the painted lines to the correct terminal for the departure. Jet Blue was on time and perfect service. On the return I came into Fort Lauderdale on United Airlines and to my delight from the baggage claim area it was super convenient to the Hibiscus Garage and I was happy to have an easy walk to my car on my arrival. The United Airlines service was also good and both flights were great. I loved the photos I took as the sun was coming up and the photos of the view as we were landing.
Security Check Point was friendly. Not crowded. Airport is clean and making all arrangements to keep everyone safe.
Great airport, this is the only one I fly. It fits all my needs
Good , Clean, efficient Airport, with goof trafic flow and ample parking and facilities.........a busy place for sure
Always helpful and friendly staff. Very clean, spacious and modern airport. Plenty of parking. Long term and short term parking fees are reasonable. Lots of shopping, food and restaurant choices as well. Comfortable seating at the gates with plugs for chargers at each seat. I seldom have any problems with this airport. Processes are smooth, quick and efficient. Good management.
The lines are usually pretty quick and the terminals are better than most US terminals I have been in.
Very small for a major airport. Not very clean. No where to charge your phones. Looks like it hasn t been updated since the 60 s. Bathrooms were disgusting
No worries easy navigation to rental car port. N all areas
Terrible airport flights get delayed 24/7 not many restaraunts. Worst airport ive ever been to. Come here if you want to get your flight canceled
Great airport, not too big. Easy to pick up luggage and good parking.
Super unorganized takes forever to get in and out of this place
Much better option than Miami International, trust me Im a local
Just an outdated and ugly facility. In serious needs of extensive upgrades. Lack of seating and power outlets. Poor food choices. Embarrassing that this airport may be the first thing international flyers see in the US.
Great staff - terrible ammenities. Inadequate seating, not nearly enough outlets and poor food/drink choices. Does Hudson News really need a second location so close to the first one?
Fort Lauder Dale Airport is nice and easy to board the plane
Great airport. Updated...and Easy to get in and out of!!
Was very much impressed by this awesome airport. The management and staff are very friendly, informative and helpful By The Way. The awesome airport staff do a good job of maintaining and taking care of the terminal gates and the baggage claim areas. The Carnival Cruise Line staff were very friendly and helpful as well.
Is the picture for this airport seriously police cars (shooting last year or year b4)
Because of the corona I guess almost everything is closed to eat. The only restaurant was serving only What's on the menu and no exception. The food was not good I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the waitress was nice.
We did have a problem with the rental, but the supervisor at FLL compensated us for our time and trouble to our satisfaction. We would use Thrifty again.
A great airport turned into a disaster. Traffic sucks and the management is terrible. Never enough taxis waiting and you have to walk a mile now from the gate to get your bags
Always excellent service, the personal makes your travel experience less stressful
Terminal 2 exceeded would need refreshing !! Limited restoration !!! And queue everywhere!
Seats are not like shopping puts people in the middle
Avoid FLL at all costs, decent size international airport that is extremely mismanaged. Very few choices in dining
No good options for places to eat- especially in the morning where the Starbucks line is ~50 people deep. No WiFi.
Clean and easy to find car rental pick up area.
Leave yourself plenty of time for security check- ins, finding your gate etc. Quite often there are cruise ships arriving and departing which means longer waits for picking people up or dropping them.We use FLL more often because it is cheaper than PBI even though it s farther away from the Treasure Coast. Still find it clean even though it is busy.
No valet parking is available but signs are still up, no tram is functioning but customers are not advised...
Looks small but big airport. Fewer shop and reataurants since it has seperate terminals and not a lot of airlines arriving at this airport. Less crowded then Miami airport. Easy way in and out
The airport was clean, everyone had to wear masks, and of course social distancing. TSA check point moved fast and the officers were friendly. There were cleaners constantly wiping and cleaning and sanitizing. Very nice experience considering the times that we are living in.
Nice little airport and easy car rental and return.
Need more places for charge the phone and the wifi not is good
Continues to be one of my favorite airports. Easy in, easy out, and on time.
Have yet to meet someone friendly or nice working at this airport. Staff is rude.
An airport filled with modern designs. Faucet with drops of water in men's rooms could be barely enough for washing hands. It won't be an issue if you don't need to wash your hands at all.
Horrible airport, The shuttles do not come on a timely basis which causes people to miss their flights. They just became an International Airport, I don't think they should be or are even prepared to handle any more international flights
was waiting in line for an hour just to get our bags checked in then was told to go into a different line that was much shorter. Then we stood there for another hour because they needed to move the people in the line we were just in the first place. was one of the most overcrowded unorganized airports I have been to.
The smoothest airport in Florida for fast check in / out
Very good location. Quick access. Very good attention, preferable to the International
Fort Lauderdale is an old airport. Both terminals 4 and 1 are crowded, contain more shops and restaurants than there is space for. There seems to be renovation going on in small areas. Airport does have decent free WiFi. If you have a choice, Miami has a wonderful airport.
Poorly signed, complete guess where you are driving to.
Trashy, unprofessional, crowded, dirty, and i could keep going. I flew American airlines and it was so disappointing bc I prefer them over other airlines. They overbooked the flight, stuck me in the worst possible seat in an airplane and it was shocking at how rude they were. The very back row, on the aisle, next to 2 bathrooms and it sucked so bad. However, I'm just grateful for that awful seat bc staying behind at this airport woulda been so much worse.
Worst airport in the world if you are traveling with a visa or green card. Avoid this airport like the plague. I am an american citizen, but my wife has a green card and the customs line for that will take about 3-4 hours. Yes, you read that right 3-4 HOURS. Asked an agent that we had conneting flight and their answer is to ask the airline for another flight. I am ashamed that a lot of tourists are coming thru this airport for their first time and are exposed to this nonsense. If this airport cant handle all of the internationals flights traffic, then make it a national airport.
