We arrived too early to check in as our Alaska desk didnt open until 330 PM. We had 6 hrs to kill and 4 pieces luggage that needed to be checked. We couldn't go through security where eating establishments were. There we no eating places on the ticketing level. People were sitting on the floor as very limited chairs. We went to baggage level and found a Starbucks and bagel place and bar. Very limited choices again but at least some choices to eat. There was seating if you grabbed first. Overall the airport is not travellers friendly and people who work the establishments could care less if you are served promptly or correctly. I had an error on my food purchase and it took over an hour for a manager to come give me a refund at the bagel shop.

I ve seen just about everything but this is pretty cool. A pet relief station at the airport next to the human bathrooms. I see this being the next big thing in high rise condos or office buildings. The duty free was out of Blanton s.

This is a nice airport, very clean and going through security. The TSA officers were some of the most professional I've ever come in contact with. There a alot of choices in food if your there for a while.

One of the most inefficient and unorganized airports I've ever had the misfortune of passing through. I will gladly pay any extra cost for a route that does not come through here in the future. Good riddance

Great improvement with facilities you can use luggage carts and assistance with Porter's very secure and checkpoint not far from ticketing elevators are helpful and clean food vendors for your choices and it was honorable to hear the mayor give a little message for travellers

Only rating this because I came to and left from here while visiting some relatives; little annoyed that even at like 4:30 in the morning, the place was packed and rushed. I still remember when being at one terminal last year and the first few minutes Einstein Bros. Bagels opened up that early morning, the line went out the door and down some other places.

Customs doesn't open soon enough for international flyers to catch their flights, what is worst is that the customs officer didn't give my wife the proper documentation she needed so now we have to pay upwards to $500 and probably because they were in such a rush to get everyone through. I've had problems with my international flights in the past too, do not recommend going through this airport.

Terrible customer service on all fronts. Laid out terrribly and I swear they have the a/c set to 45 degrees farenheit at the most. Avoid this airport at all costs. It's trying to be an international airport without 0 execution and no organization.

Could not figure out parking. Tried to use economy parking but it is now employee parking. Google has not been updated. Don't know where economy parking might be. Because of time I had to park in long term at a much higher rate. Not well marked

The best airport in Florida...in my humble opinion

VERY EASY ingress & egress...updated parking garages, signs everywhere and somehow even TSA (Thousands Standing Around) seem to not be 100% apathetic about their jobs here

they have nice big moving sidewalks from the concourse to the parking garage...but they are not idiot proof

this kills me....from airports to theme parks....anywhere with moving sidewalks. DONT PUT YOUR BAGS ON THE GROUND & THEN JUST STAND THERE IN THE WAY AFTER YOU BOARD THE MOVING SIDEWALK. keep walking

if they put up signs that say "Morons standing in the way...keep walking or move over"....then I'll give them 5 stars ;-)

seriously though....if you are flying here for a cruise/vacation/jumping bail or any other reason...this is the airport to choose. it's 3 miles from Ft Lauderdale beach. from the time you catch a ride to your ft lauderdale hotel....you could have a drink in your hand looking at the water in less than 20 minutes

Ft Lauderdale Airport is one of the best

Ft Lauderdale Airport is one of the best
travel hubs when traveling and making connections in Florida. From there you can access Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Hollywood,Miami, Orlando and
Many other cities north, south, east and west.
If you are a snow bird like me, and like to explore the beautiful state of Florida, almost anywhere that is fun is within a 3 hour drive from the hub of Ft Lauderdale.
North bound is West Palm Beach and is about an hours drive. Miami and South Beach are about 1 hour and 20 minutes away and is Southbound. If you're staying for a few weeks and willing to make the drive Orlando in Disney World is only A3 hour drive away from Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale Airport. You can also use it as a connecting hub if you're going to take a cruise or a two-day trip to some of the islands nearby.

One of my least favorite airports to fly out of. Pros: cheap flights and the number of destinations. Cons: parking garages are a nightmare to navigate, traffic, difficulty of navigation throughout due to overall setup/layout of the airport, food choices, AC never seems to be fully working, some unprofessional TSA agents, removal of economy parking, incompetent parking tram operation, terminal info listed incorrectly online

One of the worst airport design I have ever seen in this country, and many in abroad. I cannot believe an airport can be lay-out so poorly. Terrible passengers discomfort going from counter to check-in or to luggage areas. Poor locations of relax restaurants or bars before security, crowded driving roads, poor bus commuting from different airlines arrival/departure areas, small immigration and customs facility. Best recommendation is to make a new airport.

Could be the worst airport I've experienced in the developed world. I've only been to the B concourse, so the rest of the airport might be fine... but. Yes know they're doing a lot of construction, so maybe it'll be better when they finish. Until then hugely overcrowded, without hyperbole, if someone called the fire marshal. On the occasions that I've been there, impossible to find more than a single seat - I was traveling with 3 small children. The concourse is short, limiting retail and food options. Actually it is so packed (see no seats) I that it's hard to navigate. There are actually small kiosks in the seating sections taking away valuable real estate for waiting passengers. The one restaurant Landshark was equally terrible, understaffed and understocked, with huge lines. If I wasn't already booked into FLL again several more times on business (mercifully traveling without kids), I would pick another airport.

Unpleasant, crowded and no air conditioning on the day my wife and I were there. We arrived from the Caribbean to connect to go to Philadelphia. Immigration was very slow, Customs was crowded. Ft. Lauderdale seems to be trying to expand numbers of flights and passengers without changing any infrastructure. This has caused long lines, long waits and very unpleasant conditions. I can't see us ever choosing to use that airport again. I didn't think any other Florida airport could match Miami for poor service but Ft Lauderdale managed it easily.

This airport is a freezer. The AC is so cold in the middle of the winter. Why?
And the announcementsabout security and touristic attractions are so LOUD and too frequent (every 15 minutes).
On top of your multiple trouble when your flight is delayed by 6 hours (and nowhere to go after midnight), you can't rest, relax or sleep thanks to the bad seats, freezing AC, and loud, frequent announcements.
As if it is deliberately meant to change your mind about ever usi g this awful airport in the future.
I have been sick ever since I came back from my trip.

I am a frequent flyer and this is hands down the worst airport I've ever been to. They section the airlines off into terminals and you can not leave the terminal of your airline. They cram too many people in too small of a space. There is no where to eat because there is already so many people and no where to sit because there is so many people; standing room only basically. Absolutely ridiculous, God for bid an emergency were to occur. This is honestly the worst airport I've ever been to.

ZERO stars if I could. TSA was very every rude to my husband and I and where so slow getting our baggage checked. And the BAGLE place in terminal two. AVOID It! They were so rude to my father in law. He s a 72 year old with hearing problems and they were anything but patient with him. They didn t tell him that changing the flavor of bagle would cost extra and then the cashier began to complain and get mad at him for not telling her and she had to re ring it up! Everyone was so grumpy. EVERYONE. I couldn t get out of there fast enough.

Last week, my flight was delayed, and I needed to charge my phone and laptop, and there was no outlets there, there was a few of them, and many people were waiting to use them. it was a nightmare, The airport is very nice, but they need to add more charging outlets, or Tech stations.

My flight arrived at 530 am and apparently so did a few others. We all had to go through customs and they had what seemed like 10 agents working even though they had 20 customs booths. There were hundreds of passengers sitting in line. It took over 3 and half hours and probably about of us missed our connecting flights. When everyone asked what about people with connections, they said ya you're gonna miss your flight unfortunately. I've never experienced an airport being so unprepared. It felt avoidable. I do like the Mexican restaurant they have though, the service is usually fast. However, FLL is not my favorite airport.

We departed from gate F7. The reason it gets 2 stars is because the food selection is good but very expensive.

The airport is old and so overcrowded you can barely walk down the departure lounge. Line ups in the restrooms and all kinds goes on here.

Not to mention how overcrowded the check in area is in terminal 3. The TSA agents were so slow yet there was not even a huge line.

Flight was delayed by 1.5hrs due to airport congestion.

For an American airport its a 7/10(american airports are awful) for an international Airport its a 2/10

This airport is horrible! Moving from one terminal to another involves long walks or waiting for buses that are stuck in continuous traffic jams. You also have to go back through security if you need to change terminals. That is a huge hassle and waste of time. Signage is terrible as well.

Really great airport if you ask me. TSA line tend to be short 7-10 minutes top and a lot of major flights to big city like JFK, LGA etc. But really in the food section, i really suggest you to bring your food. Or pay $8 for cold turkey sandwich with no condiments

It's easily the worst airport I've ever been to. The whole building is a giant circle, making it very difficult to get to the other side in a timely manner. Not to mention the airlines are constantly mixing up gates & the flight schedule screens are few & far between. I'm making sure I never come here again.

We travel with Jetblue and the service and fly quality were great! Will suggest to add a few more signs pointing to the bagging area. But we ask and the employee was really polity providing the directions. Also I just read a few reviews and I really thing is not fare for the Airport Staff a 3.6. The facility were clean and organize.

Not one of the better U.S. airports. Scanning equipment at Terminal 3 security was not working well so getting thru took a lot longer than it should have. I was at concourse E, which apparently is being renovated. For now, it is really tight and crowded. Not much room for passengers to walk past gates at boarding time since boarding passengers fill the corridor. Few and poor (and pricey) food options. Signs say a new food court is coming, but that looks to be a long time off still. I originally gave a rating if just 2 stars, but I added a star just because I didn't expect much from FLL since it is not in a major city.

Fll airport is great i have been here many times and it is a great airport, wayy less traffic and people than miami, i see people whine but all you have to do is just show up early for your flight..! I just recommend fixing the lighting when entering the airport because i really can never see the airlines on the billboards entering at night.

Arriving from Barcelona on 2/24 in Norwegian airlines, after excellent trip and excellent customert service in the airline we facing almost 1 hour inside the airplane to get out, later a rude woman yelling a lot pushing in a bus, after 25 minutes inside the bus with the doors close again get out of the bus and transfer to other vus without any explnation or at least one only word as SORRY! And finally after 20 minutes the bus was on the way. The staff there are not friendly, the customer service is very poor, we didn't feeling the welcome back to our country after spend a period of time out of our country. Please training the staff in customer service and good manners!

This airport is slowly expanding but overall it s nice. There is one issue though and that s the fact that there aren t enough check in lines. If you are flying in the summer on JetBlue, you ll be stuck at the line for over two hours before you find out that the automated check in computer doesn t work. The bathrooms are kept clean and the staff are friendly. The variety of stores are large and there s a good amount of seating.

Ah my hometown airport. Hard to gauge as each terminal is completely different. Terminal 2 (Delta/Air Canada) has it together and never any hassle getting in or out and baggage comes fairly quickly. Lacking food options though. Terminal 1 (SWA) is a complete and utter debacle. More options for amenities but the staffers are the laziest and rudest I have met in South Florida. It is also terribly disorganized. TSA lanes are insane and I've waited over 45 minutes for luggage several times. I rarely fly out of T3 but know it's under construction and overall "meh", better than T1 for sure. T4 (International and Spirit) don't know anything about except well, it's Spirit so you can draw your own conclusions. If you stick to T2 or even T3 it will be a fairly easy experience. The other terminals you are taking a huge risk on having a decent experience.

Have had mostly good experiences here, all flying Spirit. Problems were weather related, not fair to blame the airport or airline. This facility is easy to navigate, the TSA PreCheck line is really efficient, and the place overall is relatively small. Would have liked to see more restaurants, but at least there are power outlets in the terminal/gate seating area.

Not the biggest airport. But it was very convenient to get to from the fort Lauderdale port.and there really wasn't any walk once we arrived at JetBlue. The tsa was very nice and friendly. And the process was smooth. I have to give a shout out to all the airport workers over there cleaners, baggage handlers, security all the folks that are making it happen over there. And don't get the credit for it.

The tsa lines moved pretty quickly. The airport was very clean and so were there rest rooms. You had some good food options one of them was A taste of the Caribbean. They had some really good breakfast over there.

I hade a nice egg omelet with 2 cheeses, along with some seasoned potatoes and 2 pieces of butter jelly toast. The eggs were made just right nice and fluffy, with the cheese melted. The home fries seasoned just right. They also had a burger king, along with a pizza shop called desano. Along with a crispy cream Express. With a few other restaurants in the Same area, past the tsa checkpoint.

This was my first time at this airport and my experience was a good one.i have been to Miami airport numerous times. And I love it ,I think I found me a new airport that Iam Fond of.

This airport is my go-to for domestic flights. Many improvements and upgrades have been made over the years. It's pretty big and has a delicate but controlled flow of traffic. I think the only times I've seen little too no traffic here is between 12am-5am. Otherwise, be patient and if you really need, curbside valet is convenient but will cost you 20 bucks for an hour.
