We were treated horable on top of Spirit airlines not being any help. Since there plane was late customers was a joke( no consideration for people with connecting flights the airport was no help at no one knows who you can speak to

The TSA agents were completely rude and tried to break my husbands bag. He was 100% cooperative, polite and was opening his bag when they ripped it from his hands and started ripping at the bag. I understand they are trying to check for criminal stuff but we were being cooperative and their rudeness was uncalled for.
Delta terminal is tired and overcrowded with few amenities.
There are only a few fast food type restaurants and a sunglass store. The sea of amenities found at an airport like Detroit metro are totally absent at Fort Lauderdale. Couple that with a security check in area that is seemingly overwhelmed by the volume of people, and this place is a recipe for headaches.
With so many tourists visiting Florida-how in the world is this terminal allowed to continue existing? For years there have been banners stating "upgrades coming soon" but new carpet is not an upgrade it is required maintenance. This tired place needs to be torn down and replaced with a state of the art facility. If you don't know what one looks like-hop on a flight to Detroit Metro Delta terminal. But this place? This place is embarrassing and I don't even live in FL.
Terminal 3 at the airport is ok but the TSA "officer" was a a prick for no good reason. He was absolutely rude and this was in the pre-check line after I greeted him with a smile.
Excellent in all aspects, total order in all hygiene services always in all areas, cafeterias, waiting rooms, exteriors including parking that can signal you how many spaces are available, mats, escalators also in the parking lots, many Signposts to arrive, in addition to a suitable decoration, the staff of all its areas is excellent, attentive and very professional, I recommend it 100%
No air conditioning working in the Jet Blue Terminal. No fans were provided. Seats were quite uncomfortable because of the heat. It seemed like that had a few decent places to purchase food.
Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, Florida, is located in Dania Beach, Florida between the cities of Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood in Broward County, 21 miles (33.7km) north of Miami.
The airport has experienced unparalleled growth in terms of travellers using the facility in the last few years. In 2011, the airport handled 23-34 million passengers, an increase of 4.2% from 2010. The airport handled 227,089 aircraft movements in 2011, climbing 0.2% from 2010. It is the 21st busiest airport (for passenger traffic) in the US, and one of the 50 busiest airports in the world.
The airport is a key base for Delta Air Lines and domestic low-cost carriers Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines and JetBlue. To avoid overcrowding and to capitalise on the growth trend (whether sustainable or not), the airport management is to invest in further expansion of the facility.
Easy to navigate but DON T think you can find the cell phone lot easily. Worst marked lot ever. Especially at night. Very hard to find. Terrible signage to find it.
terrible most unorganized airport I have ever been to. Specifically the international and customs department were an absolute disaster and made several people miss their flights due to poor management and severely misinformed/poorly trained staff. The airport cannot handle the amount of people that go in and out of this place. I have never seen such incompetence and gas lighting by an aiport.
I landed at FLL and wasn't happy with the lack of room, going to the baggage claims it was soo overcrowded people were pushing and shoving past each other and outside at the pickup area I had a similar experience.
No outlets. The only ones are at restaurants which don't allow you to use unless you buy. Everyone needs to charge their devices. Its the modern age. Install some charging strips.
Didn't look too clean and charging stations were to far from the gate to my connection flight. My charger plug was lose and kept falling from outlet socket. If you're at this airport, please bring two spare fully charged smartphone chargers while waiting for your flight.
Also food and refreshments in Fort Luaderdale are very pricey.
What a nightmare.... I know it was a weekend, and there are more flights, but still. The lines were endless, and the TSA were not very nice. Couldn't they just open another gate and another checkpoint? Why are having the same issues every time?
This airport keeps going down with all the money they ve dumped into the place, Broward County Commissioners should all be ashamed of this place and voted out of office
Interminable waiting to cross the border, more than 3 hours waiting to get a stamp on your passport and finally get out (almost) from the airport. Once you have recovered your suitcase, you must sneak into the wild jungle of tourists and crowded buses to pick up your rental car by bus. I am very disappointed with this airport !!! The worst ever.
Very Cool airport and very easy to transit between terminals. It is always neat clean and the staff is also very friendly. It got a lot a different destinations to choose from and many of the big airlines fly from/to there too. Can't wait to visit it again....
Our flight arrived and we had no trouble making our way to baggage claim. We had to get to the crime rental center and needed to find the shuttle. That is where they failed. They need better signage For that.
Inner shuttle service is really bad, 15 minutes for a shuttle to come and take me to the rental car place. NONE of the employees of the airport are helpful, all arrogant and pretending to be busy, or dont even want to speak. The luggage arrival is terribly disorganized, people that are supposed to help are awfully rude. Frustrating arrival.
What a horrendous experience for the modern traveler. It lacks modern amenities for the digital age like charging stations. The seating might be among the worst I have experienced, uncomfortable, packed together so tightly that travelers cannot pass through seating aisles without bumping into other travelers and their luggage.
Thank you TSA for 'randomly selecting' me and having me interviewed therefore missing my connecting flight. So this airport is dead. There's nothing here other than a couple of cafes. You will be forever queuing as you have to line up for so many different things.
Totally cramped, disorganized airport. Among the worst I've flown into internationally. At one point only one bathroom available in the entire terminal and women had to wait to use half of the men's room. Took over an hour. Coffee shop wait took 35 minutes for an ice coffee. On a Thursday early afternoon. This place needs some serious work.
For context. I'm disabled and have a hard time standing or walking. On my way out to Tampa on 8/30 around 4:10pm. TSA forced me to stand and refused to get me a chair. So I was stuck standing in excruciating pain and eventually had to lay down on the floor. They all had an attitude and older white woman who looked like she had a mustache told me in a condescending tone "why didnt you get a wheelchair?" I asked for one and she blew me off and walked away. At that point they selected me for advanced screening which left me laying on the floor for even longer. They patted me down and told me I had to stand. They took my cane and didnt give me a new one till they saw I couldn't stand. After making it through the gauntlet, I noticed some of my more sensitive technology was outside the bin and came crashing together because they didnt stop the belt. They had taken all the things out of my bag and from laying on the floor I couldn't put everything back inside my bags without a chair. They refused to get me a chair or help me get my stuff back in. I managed to call out to a different tsa agent for help and he got me a seat. I was having a hard time getting my things in my bag so I asked nicely to an older black woman tsa agent to help. She said she didn't have to so I asked again and told her I'm disabled and need assistance lifting my thing down to the ground level to put them back. She said "well if you say please" with an attitude. By this time I was livid and said I'm disabled I really need help I really shouldn't have to go through all this. She said to get her supervisor then. I said great I'd love to could you get them?. She said no and to get her myself. I was furious by this point to told her that I cant walk and I dont even know where she is. At which point a black male with a beard (another one of these great tsa agents) came up and started questioning me aggressively why I was raising my voice. He continued to give me a hard time when explaining the situation taking every advantage to cut me off and wouldn't get the supervisor or help me. I got lucky and she happened to be walking by. The black male with a beard tried to put words in my mouth before I was even able to speak. She too asked in a condescending tone what was going on. I explained the situation while being shown a threatening number of tsa agents about 6 in total all who didnt want to help me in the slightest, all while the aforementioned male was talking loudly in a pejorative way and staring me down from behind her. I asked if they could leave us be because its stressful. She said they aren't standing there its just us, they are working. After all was said and done she said "I'll see what we can do" ALL I NEEDED WAS SOMEBODY TO PUT THE BIN ON THE FLOOR. One TSA agent took initiative and helped me. I cant believe what I went through and lucky enough a travel agent came by with a wheelchair to help me at last. THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE!. I pray and hope I never have to go through this again in my life. If you are traveling through here please be careful if going through here.
Easy to drive to terminals, free bus to tri rail, very clean, friendly staff, noticeable signs, no huge lines thru security check point. New kiosks to print out boarding passes, on the way out : everything smooth and simple. Only one upsetting moment, NO fountain to fill water bottle, not enough of early opened food courts. One of my favorite airports thru the world.
Fort Lauderdale airport is easy to access. There are several ways to get to it which is very convenient. The terminals are all clearly labeled and finding the airlines is simple. There are areas that are under renovation so it might be a good idea to give yourself a little more time to find your way. Parking may be a bit confusing at first but once you have been to the airport a few times it will become second nature.
On way to Freeport Bahamas on BAHAMA AIR..never flew with them before but service was great. Only complaint about airport is we left out of gate A7 and it was a l9by walk
Airport itself is fine..staff helpful and polite. If you are flying from Terminal 4 allow plenty of time if eating at Kafe Kalik...it took an age to be served and we didn't get any drinks until food came. Awful service...
The airport may be tired because it is commented on. So, the setting is office buildings. That's what I think. What do you think? Send if you have responded to my statement, don't. Don't forget to do it every day, okay?
Great airport we had an layover but with the free Wi-Fi and and all the food options it made it worthwhile. Clean and friendly staff. The only reason I gave it four stars because the food is a little pricey and u can't be an perfect airport
Delta is no better and no worse than other domestic airlines (some foreign airlines are better).
Aside from the ubiquitous complaints with declining airline service, I have found that you get back what you put in. If you are patient and polite the airline representatives and stewards are polite and helpful back. Delta is no exception.
Avoid going thru customs here. Avoid this at all actually. Immigration people here are completely clueless, rude, lazy, and incompetent. 3+ hours to go thru immigration, on a Tuesday!! They had 2-3 slomo agents for like 4-5 incoming international flights. Are they insane!? What's worse, there was no A/C while people waited in a pretty much dead still line. It was almost torture. No compassion for elderly people who were almost fainting. I might be spoiled a bit since my closest airport is Atlanta, which is miles better than this 4th world airport, but common sense would have gone a long long way at FLL. I've seen better immigration in poorer countries! No wonder Spirit is headquartered here... what a mess. Never again!
Apart from the somewhat slowish TSA security lines, I had a hassle free experience here. It's not a large airport and terminal 1 is quite small, but there are cafes and restaurants and it is clean all throughout. There is free WiFi which is a plus, but no charging stations which is a minus.
