It's a decent airport. If your going to be renting a car, and can fly into terminal 1 you can walk to the counters, (they are all together.) If your in any other terminal they have shuttle bus service

Pessima Experience of staying 5 hours in the immigration queue, where only 4 employees attended a demand for more than 10 flights between 6 am and 11 am. Even Alamo had more employees to serve! Next time I go to Florida, I will escape this airport!

I made the mistake of choosing this airport for my connection flight while flying international. It literarily took 2 whole hours to get through customs. I missed my other flight and surprise surprise! There were no more flights that night. I don't even believe the air conditioning was on as i was sweating standing in line. There were 3 separate checkpoints of security for customs. I have been flying internationally for years, and never have I been through 3 different checkpoints, it was unnecessary and absolutely ridiculous. I will from now on avoid this airport at all costs, whether flying national or international.

Free Internet in the entire airport, good water in the drinking fountains, amigable personnel, great view of Tarmac and aircraft, AC not too cold, Charging stations for phones/Computers and such, and an abundance of comfortable seating.

Terminal 2 building was the absolute worst I have ever had the displeasure of spending time in. Very overcrowded, no place to sit, only two places to have a meal where you could actually sit . The menu had more alcoholic drinks than food which I attribute to the fact that you need lots in order to tolerate the building. I did however find the attendants very nice and helpful. My complaint is totally with the building. Flight was great!

Word to young people at TSA, stay professional even when you think no one is looking. Referring to me as HONEY or SWEETIE is totally unprofessional conduct. I offer my sincere apologies if I am standing in the wrong line or I have to go through additional checks. Explaining your protocol with a nasty attitude then abrutely walking off makes YOU look like an idiot not me.

Slow, slow, slow. Security personnel are not very friendly and are somewhat pushy. Employees seem generally lazy and uncaring. Get in and get out, don't spend too much time here. Unfortunately, it's better than MIA.

Great airport that really has their stuff together. This is one of the best-handled rental car centers anywhere (awesome layout). And TSA is smooth and fast there. I really like this airport.

With the exception of a 3rd world airport, I've never seen an airport with so few outlets to charge your personal devices. The reception is also horrible throughout the bldg and there was no free wifi service that I was able to locate! :-(

Pros: Near Fort Lauderdale, generally a much easier drive to get there, and there aren't huge international flyer crowds to contend with.

Cons: Limited food options, horrible free WiFi, and pretty small (and therefore crowded)

Summary: at least you're not at MIA

Good

I spent some time at the observation area at the west end taking in the jet traffic which is something I've enjoyed for a number of years. There's excellent viewing of the jets as they taxi by to take off and on final approach to land. I used to fly myself so it's a great way to stay connected to a lifelong love. You can take pictures but it's challenging to get a clear view since they took the camera ports out of the fence.

This airport may be somewhat small compared to the neighboring Miami International Airport, but it is always a very nice airport to travel through whenever I head to south Florida. They offer free WiFi and have some very good food, such as Shula Burger. It s convenient having food, drinks, and restrooms right near the gate. I would definitely recommend this airport to anyone heading to south Florida!

No complaints about the employees (they get 5 stars) or service, but when you have a caution sign.... maybe dont hide it. These things hurt when you hit them to avoid people. That really hurt. Thanks

IF UR AGENCY PLANNED AN STOP HERE , PLEASE CONSIDER AT LEAST 3 HOURS IN PASSPORT CONTROL(AND OTHER MORE FOR UR CHECKING IN UR AIRLINE , THEY HAVE THE WORST SYSTEM OF PASSPORT CHECKING EVER , DONT EVEN MAKE A CLASSIFICATION , ITS A SHAME FOR THE WORKERS THAT ARE ON THAT AIRPORT , MOST OF THEM THEY RE SO KIND BUT THE SYSTEM IS A MESS , WIFI IS UNLIMITED AND GOOD

EVERYTIME I return from an international flight there is an issue with this airport. They had ONE person at immigration checking everyone and the wait was 2 hours. I had to check-in again and the TSA office BROKE my box while inspecting the alcohol. I then asked for a supervisor. Officer Mena walks up barely checks the box and says it's not broken. Meanwhile the man that was actually inspecting the alcohol said it was already broken. Officer Mena was then switched him out, gave attitude, but was able to inspect the rest of the bottles without breaking them. Of course this took me having to scold them to take their time for this to get done. I fly all the time and this airport just always has the work possible customer service.

Stuck in customs line for 2 hours. No reasons given, three different lines going into customs without understanding why. No prioritization of people with connecting flights. Gross mismanagement, shutdown or not.

I had to take the Tri-Rail shuttle bus at the airport to the Tri-Rail station. The bus did not stop at the designated sign but half block away. That's not acceptable. The driver said to file a complaint with the City of Fort Lauderdale.

The airport is very dirty, The floors our dirty in waiting room and the washroom was dirty. I guess nobody wants to work here. Food court is sloppy and dirty. I went to Einstein bagels for coffee and bagel. They act like I was bothering them. This is unbelievable coffee was cold & bagel was cold when I asked for a toast bagel. I will never get a connecting flight to this airport.

Very nice looking, they eliminated the economical parking so sucks, the expanded the runways but not the parking, people are very nice, long lanes in pick hours so get there with enough time ahead, food here is small and very expensive.

This is a medium sized airport and its very easy to get in and out of. Beware the cruise days and peak travel times and this will be a pleasant experience for you. Infinitely better than LGA and JFK

Visited the airport last night because our special needs daughter was in a fashion show organized by the No Limits foundation, and sponsored by Southwest airlines. I worked for Continental airlines prior to 9/11. Was nice to drop by the old stomping grounds. FLL airport is one of the easiest to navigate for Departures, but for Arrivals you should be prepared for a logjam. Terminal 1 is always a pleasure. Modern and comfortable. The parking access is fantastic these days, with shuttles that will take you to your terminal. There's colored lines on the ground that you can follow to get to the right terminal. It's always a pleasure to be at Fort Lauderdale airport, you always know you're only a few miles from paradise.

This airport is under constant renovations. Get there early because the buses from the rental car center and the parking lot take a long time to drop you at the terminal. There's no food outside the terminals so if you want to buy something you have to pass TSA. It's less congested than MIA (Miami Dade airport) is good if you're taking a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale because is right next to Port Everglades which most cruises depart from.

Very unhappy with this airport. No charging stations for your phone and then gave us the wrong gate number for our departure and almost missed our flight. We were so out of breathe from running and nobody asked what happened and if we were okay. Very disappointed first time on this airport.

Rude workers at security and at the gate. This short Spanish man was literally yelling at me arguing with me about instructions that were not told to me initially. Oh and he was also rude to my little nieces. No customer service at all!

I have traveled all over the world and have been through numerous airports. Fort Lauderdale is by far the worst airport I have ever been through. It's staffed by rude unprofessional, and unfriendly people. This extends all the way from the TSA agents to the vendors. The whole place is overly crowded and dirty. The bathrooms are specially disgusting. I have been through third-world airports that are more well kept than this airport.

One of the nicest airports in the nation. Even before the remodel and expansion, FLL always had a positive vibe to it with all the joyful beach and cruise travelers and the sun tanned native businessmen flying out or returning home. Whatever is going on around the country or the world, there is always a little cheer, a glimmer of hope in an understated way especially among the scores of Carribean expats who live and work in south Florida.
