It is easy to exit the 595 freeway into the terminal. The airport is clean and modern compared to other large airports.
It is easy to exit the 595 freeway into the terminal. The airport is clean and modern compared to other large airports.
Good until you step outside to traffic and an over priced Uber
This airport is the definition of hell good luck to all who depart from here.
This is going to be a scathing 1 star because I am currently wallowing in misery.
We took a red eye flight from MSP to Fort Lauderdale and arrived at 4:30 am. Being unable to sleep on the plane we were hoping to catch some z's somewhere in the airport for our 4 hour layover.
The airport for some god awful reason is BLASTING music. And this music has no chill. Imagine getting off a plane and NEEDING to sleep and theres no escape from harmonicas, electric guitars, drums and screeching singers. Because that's what they play exclusively. Even just in case and conversation the music is so jarring that it makes you wait until the annoying parts are finished so you won't be interrupted.
The other huge factor is that it must be about 55 degrees in here. It's way too cold. Which is especially bitter considering we are taking a snow bird trip from Minneapolis and arrive to Florida and it's LOUD and COLD.
Legitimately the most uncomfortable I've ever been in an airport.
But they've got earplugs for 10 dollars a pair and blankets for 15 dollars.
The only reason we used FLL was due to going on a cruise. This is airport is full of rude airline staff.
After spending a few hours waiting on our flight back home this is what I observed at of the Spirit terminal
1. PA system down, flights were missed, at the expense of the flyer, they insisted that they walked up and down the terminal for these flyers, I observed this not to be true
2. Spirit airline staff, love to talk badly about travelers and this was ear shot of their customer service desk, nice to hear
3.No managmenet when requested, then management was located for the next flyer
4. FLL staff, saying excuse me, sorry, thank you, not part of their vocabulary
All though I am not a fan of Miami Airport, I think paying the extra cab fare to this airport would have been worth it.
I will never fly into FLL or fly Spirit again
This is the first time I have flown in to this airport. I was pleasantly surprised.
When we landed, we were a bit early, and there wasn't an open gate for our aircraft, but a gate opened up right around the time that we had been scheduled to arrive.
The walk to baggage claim was reasonably short. The terminal was clean and neat including the rest rooms. The men's room was big enough for the crowd, but there was a lineup for the ladies room.
Baggage was delivered reasonably promptly. It was a bit of a walk to the area where we could pick up our Lyft, but it was covered so there would have been protection from rain or sun had either been a problem when we arrived.
On our departure I noticed some things that I hadn't noticed when I arrived here a week ago. The TSA Pre Check line went quite efficiently. It was a long walk from security to our gate, but there were moving walkways to make the trek less unpleasant. The men's restroom was clean and well designed, and I noticed that there was even a rest room for pets. I didn't go inside to assess the condition of the pet facility. I also checked out the free wi fi. It was very good.
I recommend this airport. This review applies only to terminal one. I haven't seen the other terminals.
Airport convenient and fast. Not many choices of restaurants. There is a duty free shop.
The airport is mid sized and easier to deal with than JFK, ORD.
Not very good for food. The E gates have one restaurant and there is usually a wait. The connector between E and F has one restaurant. This is the terminal for American Airlinex
It is beautiful and very large, there is a lot of security for everything.
The F gates at terminal 3 has to be the worst experience in an American airport I have ever had. Its narrow, as a result there is limited room for passengers to walk or line up for boarding. There are limited coffee and food options and the wait for service is ridiculously long. I would advise anyone to avoid this terminal
This place is awful! I will no longer fly through FLL. Disorganized rude overcrowded terrible food selection and overpriced. Seating options are terrible and if you need to charge your phone you have 1 outlet for every 400+ people! I walked through 3 gates before I found a single available outlet. Water fountains are a warm trickle and forget about trying to refill your glass bottles as there are no stations to do so...it will take 2 minutes of wrestling with it to try and fill with their junky water fountains and you will give up when your bottle is a quarter full. I will never fly out of here again
This airport is modern(some new terminals)clean & neat. The staff is very courteous, and helpful. This airport could use more restaurants. More choices are good for hungry travelers .In sections of the airport, there are charging stations for your electronic devices. Very nice!!!!
- The most horrendous parking I've ever experienced at any airport. $15/day. No economy parking. Circled 8 floors to find a free parking spot. The most anxious 30 minutes parking experience!
- Wheelchair assistance staff was rude. If there is a delay, please give the customer the reason. Do not have them standing with heavy luggage waiting without knowing when they have planes to board. A simple, "I apologize for the delay, we are just waiting on XXX..." would all that would have been required to pacify most reasonable people.
+ TSA security less than 10 minutes
+ Cleanliness
+ ADAAA approved
+ Cold air conditioning
900 people in terminals fighting over about 300 seats
This airport is small and has only chairs for shifting. No recliner chairs or anywhere you can't lie down on. The Internet service is free and fast. Our flight was delayed for about 5 hours and this airport doesn't offer anything to kill time. One good thing about this airport is that you can fly cheaper if you depart from there instead of Miami airport. The rental park staff were fast and friendly. You have to get on a shuttle to get to your terminal once you return your car and you have to get off at the terminal you are departing from. Air Canada and deja from terminal 2, all the rest from terminal 3 and 4
Well maintained and great place with all the facilities.
Great airport! I've flown in and out of FLL about a dozen times! Great service and quick security! Great airport if you want to fly to Europe
It was very nice and lovely, My fiance and I will definitely go back!
The horrific experience I had with a psychotic TSA agent made my flight out of FLL the worst of all my flying experiences.
Big airport, great bus service between terminals. Super car rental. Very efficient service.
Big cockroaches and mice running everywhere,....I'm still scared for my life.
Absolutely horrible people have no clue what there doing homeless are everywhere and worst airport to fly into
Sad to see travel so slow. This airport is doing a great job!
Great Airport looks great quick and easy JetBlue are freaking idiots
They should be playing the cantina theme song From Star Wars in the background here because that s what if feels like. Not the most organized airport. Avoid the parking at the airport. do yourself a favor and just get a shuttle to a 3rd party lot. If you park at the airport you ll end up walking MILES.
We encountered rudeness in all aspects of the staff while doing immigration for 3 hours, rechecking our bags and buying food. The highlight was when the immigration officer made a public announcement that he will quiet the crying child with his hand. He proceeded to yell at the child in Spanish while the mom tried to do immigration. I will try to avoid this airport next time I fly internationally.
The lines are ridiculously long. Out of about 6 staff members for the baggage checking for Cuba, only one spoke Spanish. That made it difficult for many of the passengers to communicate. The majority of the airport employees were rude, and some didn't know how to answer simple questions that passengers asked. Also, the airline company, JetBlue, made us pay more money for our luggage returning to the U.S. than exiting it. When returning to Florida, the line for immigration took over 2 hours because there were only 2 officers working. If I could give this airport and JetBlue a zero star rating, I would. This airport was supposed to be fast and beneficial to my family and I based on what our travel agency told us. It turned out to be the opposite.
Never experienced this type of customer service. I walked from rental car dropoff to Terminal 4. I dropped the car at 8pm and I got to terminal 4 at 9pm. Walked 1hr without someone saying you have to shuttle over from the rental center. Not one person(employees)from the rental car area or the different terminals knew how I could get from to my boarding terminal other than walking. I saw no other customers walking in that direction. It was hot, and I was carrying bags. Employees were to busy holding conversations amongst themselves or scrolling through your phone .
Terrible place for passenger pick up. Nasty policemen, (Terminal 4) they look for any excuse to fine you. Women watch out. My friends, unfamiliar with the airport picked up a passenger barely stopping at the crosswalk got fined twice by the same dog in a week. Instead of helping move the traffic, they stop you and lecture you on how to drive inside the airport. Then give you l long, stupid explanation of why they have to fine you. For instance, they told us that they would be liable if someone got hurt at the crosswalk. Simply dumb.
So watch out for them.
So far Fair... Not enough outlets to charge my phone...
Fort Lauderdale Airport offers a pleasant entry into Florida. I highly recommend using this airport rather than Miami International. And renting a car at the Alamo Car Rental on-site location is also no-stress. The friendly, wise staff are the BEST!
This was our first time flying into Fort Lauderdale airport. It is not very large and easy to navigate. Their restrooms were very clean. The employees were friendly. Hertz rental folks were really friendly even though the line was super long. It was very easy to pick up our rental. We had to wait at a booth in the parking area for someone to bring our car. Very well-organized.
To get to any terminal or gate, you have to walk outside, regardless of the weather (obviously).
Thought it could be a smaller airport, but actually there are a few terminals. While looking for a specific bus line to head out a staff member took me to the wrong spot which added a few minutes of walk to get me where I really wanted to go. Overall, it's an OK airport where you have a few services by the gates.
Understaffed..spent 1.5 hours in immigration queue..and it was the expedited line...poor customer service
...when possible, you should avoid it
NOT a very organized international terminal. Why are ALL international flights arriving at the SAME time?!?!? Third world countries have better organizational skills than the FLL International Terminal. Really? What does that say about Broward County?
This was my first time landing at Fort Lauderdale. It was very clean , friendly and welcoming. The terminal was easy to navigate for baggage claim and car rentals. Flying out was just as easy.
The worst airport in America. From the most disrespectful, condescending and unhelpful border agents (even to Global Entry members) to the lazy and miserable ticket agents, this airport is a wasteland for humanity. The qualifications for employment at this airport must be 1) a willingness to needlessly harass passengers more than any other airport in the world 2) the ability to forgo any semblance of customer service in an effort to do the absolute minimum at all times.
I told the airport staff how to get there, but unfairly, even the wrong way .. TT
Familiar with it could use better signage for seeing impaired travelers.
This airport was the dirtiest and most disgusting airport that I've been to. The food court was filthy, tables not being cleaned l, garbage on the floor. When I was using the restroom, I saw roaches crawling everywhere. Will try to avoid in future travelling.
Overall the airport had inadequate seating, and very few food options.
As with most airports security is the longest most dreadful part of the process this one was no different. Only major complaints are check bags are on the top floor not clearly labeled and not very much seating or places to charge devices.
The airport security was completely inefficient and terribly managed. Shame on them.
The most archaic and under equipped airport I've ever visited. My experience is based on terminal one. Arrive way way earlier than you would at any other airport.
Place was clean. I've never had a bad experience here.
Nice airport. Usually short lines at TSA check in. Unfortunately each terminal serves separate airlines and you must go through security transferring between terminals.
Excellent airport! Polite and attentive staff. At the entrance to the terminal, we were greeted by an employee and provided a wheelchair (on the site when booking tickets, beforehand, did not make a note about the stroller). Then he led us, without waiting, to the gate itself, which significantly shortened the time for all necessary registrations and inspections. From the gate to the plane, also provided an armchair. Thank!!!
Started and landed here several times, everything was great
Spirit dask service was rude and not helpful. When I ask to speak to her supervisor that was the only time I was shown respect. A simple customer service will go a long way since everything is price to the $3 for drink.
It looks like a bus station. There are no VIP lounges and the amount of good and small restaurants.
They are in continuous remodeling and has improved a lot in recent months, very hygienic and well set. Still the service in the immigration and customs area is a little slow.
One of the best visit. Customer service excellent for the Southwest Airline and the overall employee
Airport isn t very clean, the staff at TSA were very polite but the rest of the staff (gate agents, cleaning staff) were rude. No good food in Terminal 3, Only bad coffee. Will try to
Avoid FLL airport in the future.
This was my first time to travel thru Fort Lauderdale airport. It was not to bad getting out of there to find the car rental shuttle to pick us up. The problem was getting back in to fly out. Went thru the TSA and I have to artificial hips told them that and have the cards. It is like they pay no attention to that. I got patted down said I was a random one, well so were the four other people in front of me. How can that be random four people in a row it does nothing but bog up the line and make people angry. The honest people are the ones that get put thru HELL just to fly its crazy!! Another thing I want to rant about is one of the female workers at the Southwest area checking us in this morning at 6 am was NOT the friendliest person to be working in that position.

Large airport, good variation of food around, and great that there are outlets on the seats. Staff was nice and accommodating! Always have a good time here with our flights coming and going.
Could be the worlds best airport. If it wasn't supporting the Broward County Democratic Party.
While waiting for our Philly flight there wern't many options of restaurants. On the + side you could bring bewerages to the waiting area, enjoy them while playing cards e.t.c. There are allso charging possibilities for cellphones.
