Great terminal after getting off of a Southwest Flight from EWR! It was a quick and painless walk to baggage claim (which was right around the corner) where the bags had begun to come down the belt!

Experience Hell ! With construction again almost got killed last night. No signs until on top of a exit lanes just end while going around a loop. There was NO exit for US 1 N. Ended up in the port. Very dangerous !
This is the dirtiest airport I ve ever been to in my life. I ve never felt the need to rate an airport, but this place looked and smelled like the end of Bonnaroo or Coachella. Trash and half eaten food and drinks were EVERYWHERE with no sign of anyone to clean it up during my 3 hour layover. There was not enough seating in the terminal so there were hoards of people standing. Food options are terrible - I opted for pizza because you can t really mess that up, yet they somehow did. I will never take a connection through here again.
If at all possible do not fly international out of this airport. I have flown with them domestic and all is good. If you are flying back international you will go through homeland security just know that you will be waiting in long lines for hours (just short of 3 hours for me) and you will miss any connecting flight that you have. I heard the staff discussing with each how good the day was. Saying that it wasn t as bad as it normally is. Staff, including, airport, airline, ICE, and local police don t care if you miss your flight. They are unconcerned with the service they provide.
Absolutely the rudest TSA agents I have ever encountered! It s a shame to enjoy a nice vacation in a lovely place and then leave with such a terrible experience in the airport. It will make me think twice about visiting here again.
Worst. Airport. Ever. I connected through FLL for an international flight. When I arrived I had to ask about 3 people how to get to the international terminal. When I finally found out where to go, there were no personnel at the airline counter to answer any of my questions (it was 9am). The security line was the MOST disorganized process I have ever encountered people were cutting line, no one knew where to go just awful.
On the way back into the country, I again connected through FLL. My inbound flight arrived late, so I only had 20 minutes to get through immigration and customs before my next flight boarded. I explained to a customs rep that there was no way I would make my next flight if I remained in my current position. He had NO compassion and said they didn't expedite the process for such reasons. Ten minutes later I desperately asked an airline representative and she let me skip ahead of 10-12 people so I could get through immigration. I then had to wait for my luggage for an additional 10-15 minutes. After cutting to the front of the customs line, I finally made it out of the international terminal. When I realized I would never make my next flight, an angel in the form of a baggage attendant took my luggage and said he would make sure it got on the flight (it did nothing short of a miracle). I then sprinted to security and arrived with 15 minutes to spare before my flight took off. I again expected compassion from the TSA agents, but was met with complete apathy. While the line was steadily growing, one of the TSA agents chose to take a break while the other was manned by an agent in training (thus extremely slow). By the time it was my turn I literally taking my shoes/belt off while they were checking my passport. Miraculously I made my flight (they closed the door 30 seconds after I boarded), but this was no thanks to any assistance from airport personnel. The saving grace was that baggage attendant who ensured that my suitcase got to the right place. However, trust me when I say that in the future I will do everything I can to avoid flying through FLL.
Good job to whom ever designed the place. The 2012 expansion project are a complete success. The terminals are all nice. Looks like new shops and restaurants are opening in terminal 2 soon.
Terrible airport. Awaiting connecting flight have to leave the secure area ensuring another trip through security. Not an outlet in sight to charge a phone or a laptop. Thinking of catching a nap? Nope you can wait in small area while construction takes place right in front of you. The worse airport experience in quite some time. I'm guessing no one cares about the passenger. Woe to any one here on a late night layover. One star because apparently you can't give no stars.
I give the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport located at 100 Terminal Dr, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315 FIVE STARS. What a cool airport. This airport, has so many transportation options to get to it and leave it. *Drive yourself * lyft * Uber *Taxi * Public transoortation *Shuttles etc... The staff is so helpful and always answering your questions. 5 's WARNING. No matter what it's humid.
The airport needs to improve the way their workers treat customers. The Direct Airline Services agent who helped us with my grandmother treated us disrespectfully. He scolded us because another DAS agent was supposed to stay with my grandma at all times which was not our fault, they re unorganized. He condescendingly told us to take our stuff off, I asked do I take off my earrings and he mocked saying no you don t take anything off , I replied you did say shoes off , then he went off and threatened you want me to send you back to the line?! . And about ten minutes later he came saying I only do this to protect you so they don t send you guys back ...which is besides the point. You can help people and do your job without being disrespectful of those who are paying your salary in the first place. After he said that last thing, he hands me an iPad to rate him... which explains why he started trying to smooth things out: just so I don t give him a bad review.
TSA agents yelled at us as well and one rolled her eyes at us... they ought to learn some respect and be aware of where their revenue is coming from.
Work on your customer service, this was embarrassing and I m not the only one experiencing this because I ve come across other reviews saying the same thing.
The most horrific experience everytime I go to this airport. You will most definitely miss all connecting flights. Staff is rude. People in wheelchairs(who don't really need them, had no problem exiting the plane) are expidited through security while everyone else waits in mile long lines. I had a connection 20 minutes before I reached security, told the agent and she directed me to the longest line when others with my same flight got in another line and made it through security in half the time. Absolute nightmare.
It was fine I guess. It wasn't great, but it was fairly easy to navigate and had good food options. The staff at the security lines though were slacking and just standing around. They make you put every item in separate boxes to be scanned, and when I had my bag get checked, they stood around for a solid 5 minutes talkint to eachother before they actually did their job.
I'm flying out of FLL now for the third time in the past two years. I'm stuck here for another eight hours and am thoroughly unimpressed. For an airport which waxes about its commitment to customer satisfaction and glows about increasing footfall, I find myself pining for LaGuardia.
Over-crowded, practically no charging ports, bad seating, and extortionately priced food. I don't like eating at chains, as a general rule, but part of what makes them appealing in airports is consistency - you know what you're getting and whah quantity, no matter which Dunkin Donuts or McDonald's you're at, anywhere.
All FLL has is a scarce handful of bizarre eateries with names reminiscent of the a la carte options at my old high school. The prices are a delight, too - $10 for a box salad, $7 for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, or $9 for a no-name outlet's microwave burrito.
If FLL wants to brag about becoming a national hub, it needs to reform its magnificently outdated facility. Put in some more damn outlets and institute the price governor schemes which better airports have put into effect, which prevent restaurants from charging patrons two or three times an ordinary amount.
Worst airport arrival ever.. had to wait 40minutes on the plane because of a lack of buses. Then met by a tired old coach in which the doors wouldn't shut. Then there was a huge queue at passport control at 10 pm. Took me 1.30 to get out... Make that 2hrs
I will avoid this airport at all costs. It was a terrible experience. Delayed flights, no where to sit, and limited options on food. This airport is unorganized and a complete nightmare.
Please dont ask me to be 2 hours or more early when the TSA doesnt open til 430am, l arrived at 330am assuming l could get thru security.... Also, dont display alcoholic beverages if you cannot purchase til 8am. Thanks.
Been almost every airport and I'm proud to say that this airport is way better than any airports in the world. Traffic is manageable and the staff are fast!
I am with a someone who is on a wheelchair and he needed assistance and the staffs we're all prompt in helping us from checking in all the way to boarding. **** Thank you to all the people working in the airport who are really doing their jobs!
This airport has made investments and is improving, but it has a long way to go. TSA is the slowest and rudest I have ever seen. Terrible parking options. A few new restaurants in terminal 4 the G-gates area help the food situation a little. Compared nationally, one of the worst on-time performance records. LaGuardia may be a worse airport, but at least the people that work there are competent.
My family and I travel through this airline and until now we have never had problems. Good attention. All very clean Rarely have there been delays. Satisfied
What a dump!! The Terminals are junky. Flights are always delayed, I have never left Fort Lauderdale on time. They have 2 runways but only use 1 runway. Don't use this airport
Don't ever loose an item in this airport! Worst ever experience! I dropped my wallet at the TSA checkpoint on a Friday and could not get any information until Monday. The office has bank hours from the 1970's, they don't open on Saturday or Sunday, they close from 12 - 1 for lunch and they are only open from from 8:30 - 5:00. Good luck trying to get an item back that you desperately need. Customer service is horrible!!!!!!! If I could give them no stars, I would.
It is so cold and uncomfortable in this airport. The air was literally on full blast all day. It had to be about 30 degrees in the airport. This review will probably go unnoticed like the rest here. They know people will still travel and as long as they can keep taking money I'm sure they don't care about the rest.
A good airport. Very good location north of Miami. Good access from North Miami, Hollywood. It has excellent connections to airports throughout the country. It also offers a good number of low-cost flights. It is not very big but it is a bit disorganized. There is no good rental car service. It is the most important point to improve.
A small, but busy and organize airport. Migration and Costums personnel are attentive and kind. Internal transport great and County urban buses get to downtown Ft. Lauderdale in no time.
Beautiful, very easy to find the doors to board, several restaurants, souvenir shops and more. Beautiful and easy yo find the Gates, some restaurants, souvenirs blinds and more.
UPDATED JULY 2017: NOT ONLY IS TERMINAL 3 THE WORST DESIGNED FOR THE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC, BUT THEY Intentionally TRY TO FORCE YOU TO BUY WATER L AFTER SECURITY. WHILE MANY WILL BRING AN EMPTY WATER BOTTLE TO FILL UP AFTER SECURITY, FLL AIRPORT HAS AN Intentional LOWERING OF THE WATER STRENGTH AT THE TERMINAL 3 WATER FOUNTAINS IN WHICH YOU CANNOT FILL A DECENT SIZED BOTTLE. AS SOON AS U START THE FLOW IT GOS LOW RIGHT AWAY. TERRIBLE BUSINESS TECHNIQUES. AND WILL BE REPORTED TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES. The new parking system installed is great but still ridiculously low amount of spaces in terminal 1. Give yourself a 45 minute Cushion when traveling from terminal one airlines. Security quite slow and compacted. New restaurants are great but limited seating, bathrooms are really tight. Overall decent airport way better than what it was 20 years ago.
One of the worst, most inefficient airports I've flown into. And I travel a lot - almost weekly for work.
Uber/Lyft pickup setup is horrible - worst I've seen. Baggage claim - one of the slowest I've seen plus they randomly changed the carousel on everyone.
Always a breeze. TSA has a sense of urgency. Great alternative to MIA for domestic flights. Too bad international flights are pricey a good majority of the time. Other than that, great airport!
This crotchety old bag who works for TSA there is a huge turn off. She s too old to do anything useful so she just points people to whichever line they need to go in. I walked up to the TSA Precheck entrance and there s this huge line for the regular line, and I ask TSA precheck line? . She ignores me. I wait. No answer. So I just walk towards the entrance because I know that my line. She starts screaming at me, there s a line you can t just cut people. I NEED to see your ticket. So I show her, continued to berate me. In front of other guests. She s 80 so I figure she grew up during the Great Depression and has had a hard life. So I let it go. Still the absolute worst airport and people I ve ever had to fly out of.
We've waited almost an hour for a burger, a salad, and chicken wings. At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport. I would slap the people involved with the design and layout of this airport, poor planning.
