It is VERY small and not very accommodating for being an international airport. Outdated and does not offer much while you wait. I gave it 2 stars, only because it had AC!

This may be the worst airport I've ever been in, in terms of food options. 2 places choose from to eat? An overpriced coffee shop and one sit down place? That's it?
On of the worst airports that I have been to.Much too congested, walk ways are too narrow, gate areas are much too small and crowded. Poorly designed.
Small airport but easy to get to gates. Coming through the security is fast.
Doesn't feel that clean, poor choice of restaurants, and really bad pricing. To make things worse the airport layout is absolutely awful. There are 3 different terminals and none of them are connected so if you have a connecting flight there is a good chance you will have to go outside on a 10 minute walk to the next terminal and go back through security just to get on your next flight. That layout makes absolute 0 sense and is a huge headache at peak times
dirty bathrooms including everywhere we had to wait, overpriced everything, flying was suppose to be an exciting experience but my teens hated how unprofessional TSA behaved. We will be driving in the future. Everyone working at airport were cranky/moody and had no respect for the people who pay their salaries. Disgraceful!
This airport is horrible. It just literally cannot handle the amount of people it services.
Another poorly designed airport. Don't airport designers rent cars?
This is a piece is sh*t airport. We flew in from Mexico to connect to a flight to atl. But they had us waiting in custom for 3 hours !!! There was ONE customs officer for like 100s of people. It was one of the worst experiences I ve ever had. Needless to say I missed my flight. Has to stay at a hotel and take another flight the next day. Don t ever go to this airport. They don t care about their customers and they will treat you like the piece of shit they are.
Very easy to check in and the people were very nice and helpful
Convenient airport but the TSA here are unbelievably slow
Funny thing, they direct the trafic of vehicles waiting for delayed fligths off the side of road to the "Cell Phone Area" which is underneath the bridge with horrible phone reception. Can't even watch Netflix while I'm stuck in the car
Literally hell on earth. I would rather spend eternity in purgatory than return here. There is not a single positive aspect to mention about the pissy staff and rundown infrastructure.
The flight in was a very pleasurable experience, very smooth and organised.
The flight out however was a bit of a shambles. We turned up in plenty of time to use the check in machines. You cant scan mexico residents cards so we had to queue up in a never ending queue. Chatted to some other people in the queue while we waited and waited and they all had different experiences, one Dutch guy had been taken from the queue 3 times to use the kiosks only to be told, after it didn't work to return to the queue again.
Eventually they did start to move it along as people's tempers grew and flights drew nearer. We did make it in time but it was much more stressful than it needed to be...
The last thing to remember is that no matter how smiley and polite you are, just about everyone in a uniform is quite frankly rude and has no patience.
When I was in a wheel chair no worker even look my way.... I guess I to was black for them.
Total chaos at immigration / customs. No signage whatsoever. Lines should be separated by nationality + passport type, but aren't. Instead they shuffle everyone into the same queue and then try to rearrange as they go along, which works as well as you might expect. Global Entry machines all offline. Half the electronic passport scanners are dead as well. I used one of the working ones, but instead of continuing out the exit, was routed back through the entry into another line, which later fed back through the passport scanners a second time, and then was routed to yet another line. No apparent order to anything. Great first impression...
[Edit on next trip: used Mobile Passport app to speed up immigration and customs. Had the opposite effect. Line was slower than the normal queue. Customs said the app wasn't working so everyone was routed to secondary inspection. Absolutely abysmal system]
Very friendly employees. Clean facilities. Great food spot available.
Great airport compared to Ohare in chicago not putting you out of the place before you get in to the airport keep up the good work
A good portion of the staff that work in terminal 4 are lazier than a sloth. Signage for public transportation should be in more adequate places. In the time that I was at the airport waiting for my next flight I saw more than half-a-dozen frustrated because they couldn't figure out where the Tri-Rail county bus stops. They would go to where Google Maps sends them not knowing that the actual place where they should be is in the opposite end of where Google sends them. The two suited individuals that were in charge of directing incoming passengers at check-in, walked like if they had something up their...sleeve; such arrogance. Flight attendants onboard were awesome, can't say the same about the ones at boarding time. To say the least, they were extremely nonprofessional, impatient, condescending, not helpful, disorganized, unprepared..and the list can go on and on. The sheriffs didn't come out to move traffic until flights from Jamaica (people of color) arrived at the airport. And boy were they moving traffic in a manner that seemed like they simply wanted to harass the Jamaican passengers. All-in-all it's probably the first and last time I'll be flying out of this airport.
Great airport, got turned around some.... But overall, we had a safe flight there and back.
Great for interstates flights but sucks if you're flying international!!
Home town airport, I have seen it grow for years and still love it. Lines haven't been too bad. Maybe my luck but never really had any major delays form here. I Give it two thumbs up.
Chaotic airport. No services, no seats, and staff not very helpful. No place to change diapers. Miami airport might not be the best, but this one is way worse.
The infrastructure is good. There are excellent shopping and food options.
Quality service, very clean and neat, very nice staff! My favorite airport!
The airport has gone through some changes. There's some construction going on at the moment but overall it's pretty and nice. That's pretty and nice. I was tempted the stay a night or two or three during a lay over. Look around if you have some time. Good views.
I love fort Lauderdale airport only one thing I'm not very please with it too many international flights coming down and one terminal?
In the security check area very hostile and disrespectful staff. I have visited several airports in other states and have never had such a humiliating bad experience.
Why does it take so long to finish remodeling this airport?
I'm only commenting on the arrival part of the airport. The baggage claim area was largely occupied by homeless people sleeping on the benches. Mentally Disturbed people hovering around. I had to leave my family to go get the rental car first thing I wanted to do was take a shower after that experience. The traffic is chaotic, the shuttle bus line for the car rental had about 100 people in it. It is so disorganized there is a police presence but they're not in for enforcing the traffic homeless problem.
Great airport tha supoort Miami and is less congested and close to Interstate I95
Interstate 595. Great choice to fly to Miami area.
Clean fast service and new staff that is improving on their service.
Terminal G is the newest terminal and have great stores, restaurants coffee shops, souvenirs stores , free wifi and much more.
At the moment very lonely, but it is clean and very well guarded excellent
Better than landing at MIA. Not as crazy, simple in and out.
If I could give this place 0 star I would give it. Worst airport I have ever been. I wasn t even a passenger. I was helping a friend. This is the place you would never want to come. Worst service, employees yelling at travelers over every little thing . They didn t have change at the bag check point. Security very rude, no manners. I will never come back here again.
This is medium sized airport located in the suburb of Miami s Fort Lauderdale. The airport has two terminals and United is one of the major airlines to fly from here. Southwest is another regional airline that has quite a few flights. There are plenty of self checkin kiosks and while our flight was very early morning I was surprised by the smiling, cheerful attitude of the staff helping checkin.
The ambience is kind of quaint with small (perhaps real life) planes hung off the ceiling. The walk to the gates is always less than 10 minutes.
Fantastic service and efficient staff. Great setup for efficient travelers.
The facility has been super clean amidst the pandemic, staff is nice as well.
Best airport in South Florida. No crazy traffic to get to it. Right off the highway
Worse than Miami? This place makes LAX and LGA look brilliant. Typical Florida nonsense. Terribly managed.
Avoid if at all possible, especially if using Terminal 2 (Delta/Air Canada)
We frequently visit Florida but often use MIAMI or PBI Airports but it just so happens that the flight times were better this time around into FLL. Unfortunately, I do not believe the additional hassle, unprofessionalism of staff and disorganized nature of the airport was worth the desirable flight times. I should mention that I am a seasoned travel that often travels for business but this time around, I was travelling for pleasure with a friend. We are both in our late 40s and easy going gals.
RENTAL CAR SITUATION
If you are renting a car and using Terminal 2, 3 or 4 know that all rental car locations require you to take a shuttle bus to get to. This means having to haul your baggage through the airport, up the sidewalk, onto the bus and then repeat on departure. For a terminal that I imagine services many seniors, you would think this system (albeit a terrible one already) would be organized and include helpful staff along the way. But instead, you can tell this part of the airport is operated in the most economical way with only the bus driver available to help if you need it
AIRPORT AMENITIES, SHOPPING, DINING OPTIONS
Arrivals - I'll note that baggage was quick to arrive which was a definite positive. Kudos to the staff in charge of that. We paid the $5 to use a baggage cart only to realize that we were going to have to get on a shuttle moments later and ditch the cart.
Departures (Terminal 2) - Very, Very limited options to shop, dine and even sit - considering it is a smaller airport, you can probably manage to get through customs fairly quickly so I would recommend timing your departure as close to when your flights takes off as possible. The only dining option I saw was a small Starbucks, although there could have been one additional restaurant hiding somewhere. Since the airport is small, seats are very close together and the departure area looks like a can of packed sardines.
CUSTOMS/IMMIGRATION - I'm a frequent flyer and have seen just about everything as far as TSA is concerned and generally I am okay with it because it is, after all our safety and security and I understand that this part of travel often comes with the most hassle but for good reason. However, the staff working at Terminal 2 including their supervisor should certainly be investigated. It is the most disorganized and chaotic experience. It feels as though every staff member is scrambling, has no process to follow and requires training. Felt like Black Friday at the mall. I witnessed a few things that made me realize this staff was incompetent - firstly, a older lady who was using a walker because of knee issues was asked if her walker folded up (it didn't so they forced it through) and to place it through the security scanner, she then was asked to hobble uncomfortably through the body scanner (most airports will have you go through the metal detector with your wheelchair and walker and do additional checks when required) then, I witnessed them do the same for strollers (even strollers that did not completely fit in the metal detector - they would force them through) and lastly I witnessed them give a new mom with a newborn a stern talking to because she was travelling with unopened cans of formula and when she told them that she had called TSA and checked on the requirements and that she was within the limit and that she wanted to file a complaint, they rewarded her with a pat down in front of everyone. I heard the supervisor call some agents over and say something to the line of "watch this" - she was so frazzled that she was crying in the bathroom afterwards, we encouraged her to file a civil rights complaint as a few of us had heard the supervisor abuse his power. Ironically, I had passed through with some scissors in my purse with no problems.
If you are a senior, require any extra help while travelling avoid this airport so that it does't ruin any part of your travel.
The airport was unnecessarily cold, blowing air directly on the gate waiting areas.
I never had any problem using the Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL). They just need to increase information screens and distribute them properly.
Terminals dont connect. You have to walk outside into the weather. Not good. Too far with kids & luggage. Also no restaurants you are able ACCESS without being a ticketed passenger if u have to wait hours to pick up your loved ones.
Conveniently located near the Keys. Great in and out for an easy early flight on SPIRIT airlines. Most shops didn't open until 6am and some 24 hr convenience areas were closed due to covid and reduced traffic.
This is actually the WORST airport I have ever been to. Lacking in everything from communication to seating to restaurants to working vending machines. Not prepared for the amount of people traveling through there!
A much nicer experience to fly into here than Miami sometimes. Airport has a nicer, less frenetic feel to it.
My Hometown Airport & I also was a former Employee at this airport many Years ago. I love it here, the safety measures are EXCELLENT compared to some airports I have recently Flown in. Hats off to all of you at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
Ft. Lauderdale has to be the worst airport I have ever navigated. You can't check your bags until two hours before your flight and there is nowhere to sit or stand. I would avoid this airport if possible!
Easy, fast, and relaxing airport. I've been flying out of this airport for about 12 years and I never had a problem. Can't wait for the new renovations to the airport to be done.
Free wifi is a great blessing! not real fast but if you consider free plus the amount of people using it, it is pretty good. the airport is easy to get around in, car rental agents could use a lesson in politeness, and respect. could use a few places to eat outside of security while waiting for plane ride. staff seemed friendly and helpful throughout.
Harvest and grounds really needs to step up their game. They should be grateful the airport is supporting non-starbucks coffee rather than being rude and nasty to their customers. Please just bring starbucks to the airport if this is their best customer service.
Small airport with smooth organisation - though that could just be because it wasn't busy at the time. No real complaints, but nothing really stands out either. All-in-all? S'ok!
My flight left Costa Rica at 1:00 AM landed in Florida at 6. Had a TEN HOUR delay, Needless to say Couldn t find a place to sleep anywhere at this airport so I put some chairs together for
Me and my daughter. It seemed that the workers where LOUD slamming things to wake us up. When I got up one workers was talking out loud saying the chairs shouldn t have been moved. I guess he was talking to me... It s hard enough falling asleep on the plane even more so inside the airport for crying out loud. I will ever buy a airline ticket with a TEN hour delay - lesson learned. I am grateful DFW airport (my hometown) has places for people to sleep.
Airport is terrible for a family trying to fly internationally. Having to exit security to switch terminals for your next flight is inefficient and cumbersome. The staff was very unhelpful. This will not be our route for the Bahamas next time.
Car rental was clean and spacious, frequent shuttle to terminals was good. Terminal itself very overcrowded, felt small and old, in need of a facelift. Hardly any shops and food areas at all let alone open at 9PM. Wanted food, hardly any left. Queues were great, for an international airport, but the whole thing all seemed a bit dated. Only good thing was that staff were efficient and polite. Wouldn't recommend really, choose Miami instead!
Awesome flight .
Smooth flight .
Was intending to buy sun glasses at the Sunglass Hut store but woman couldn't be bothered to look up from her texting. Bad customer service and bad business. Lost sale SH.
Parking lot is about 99% full.
Everyone is wearing masks and it's about 75% full in the airport
Great airport, but just landed Delta and the entire place is under construction...wow!!!
Wifi is pretty fast, but missing IPv6 support. Almost there, 4/5.
The worst airport I've been to. Baggage left at one terminal, then goes to the next briefing on the terminal. Store the size of the terminal kiosk course only with alcohol, because what normal things. There is also a Burger King cheeseburger is a slice of dry bread with meat and cheese. Zero sauce or any vegetable
Officer Cauley of the TSA, terminal four, was particularly kind to me and reassured me that all is well. And now I am safely on the on board ready to head north. I am also very grateful for spirit airlines and a reassuring message from its president, Ted Christie. Ted, you don't realize how much better I feel hearing your voice. Additionally, I want to tell you that I love the inmotion store --they have some incredible deals on travel electronics. The woman who helped me, Roosseline, has a tattoo on her arm of a butterfly. I think people who have tattoos are a kind because they are less uptight.
I have the pleasure of the good service that they provide and the Education with which they treat the people Excellent their cervicio
