Chilled vibe and excellent service. Beautiful hotel in a superb location

Came for a professional event. Beautiful hotel with a nice bar and live music in the lobby. Easy access to the beach and friendly staff.

Ok. Shutters on the Beach is the classical all American architecture beachfront house. The wooden construction with the glass windows and the white and light blue painting combination makes one feel the North American essence at its best.
The interior of the hotel is very elegant. Many fine couches across the living room, big mirrors on the columns and behind the bar reflect the piano and the fine art that hang from the walls.
But we weren't there to spend the night. We went to dine and at the terrace where we sat, our lovely waitress served us cocktails and wine that were exquisite. We ordered oysters and salmon. The oysters were... I would give them an 8/10. They were fine. Now the salmon was very well done. It had the side of the skin fried in a way that they made it very crunchy. It was perfectly cooked also. And we shared it, I think between two of us and I think it was more than enough.
Service at the restaurant is excellent. I just wish they didn't close the kitchen so early.
Ideal place to go with family or couple.

This hotel is characterized as one of the best hotels of this sona with professional staff who serve you with an excellent kindness and its luxuries and an excellent pool to enjoy with your family I recommend it

Very attentive service - even when I didn't like the wine I ordered they didn't question getting me an alternative. Fish was extremely fresh (ceviche is a must, salmon was also incredible) and the view at sunset couldn't be beat. Had a fantastic time catching up with a friend!

The room had a nice view and I loved the staff that worked there as they were very helpful. It did rain the weekend we went so it was hard to enjoy ourselves but shutters on the beach made our visit much better

There are quite a number of hotels and restaurants by the beach. But Shutter's is definitely one of the nicest and one of the most romantic. It may be expensive $$$, but it is definitely worth checking out. Those who have know exactly what I mean!

While visiting Santa Monica, we stayed in Shutters on the Beach. The view is just magnificent, the service outstanding, and the food phenomenal. Since weed is still illegal in our state, we thought we would try a legal toke and jokingly asked the hotel staff where we could get some. He suggested Pot Valet, and not only did we find a selection bigger than any other legal state we ve been, but the quality was just exceptional. What an experience. Best vacation we have ever had, even if we spent most of it stoned on the finest buds anywhere else on earth. Highly recommended. Five stars!

I love to come here and enjoy lunch on the terrace in the sunshine or for dinner to watch the sunset over the Pacific.

Location unsurpassed. Happy hour on deck by Ocean 4 to 7. Very social. Staff is top notch. Shutters property is actually ON the beach with attractive living spaces. Free bike usage for adults and kids. This complex is good enough for the super rich and famous and those who like to be around them. Everyone is treated the same. Excellent choice for Santa Monica. Love this place.

Service was super slow, but drinks and view were really good.

Staff was excellent, location is great and housekeepers were amazing. Everyone who works here is courteous and pleasant to speak with.

I had a wonderful experience at Shutters. I enjoyed every dishes at their restaurants, spa, bicycle rentals, step into sand right front of the hotel with umbrella and seats, live jazz music at the night, and hotel services are spectacular. You can walk to Capo from hotel, too :) We had an Ocean front suite for 3 nights. it doesn't have enough closet space, only a tiny closet in the bathroom (no closet in the bedroom, there're some wardrobe chests but they don't open smoothly).

Was there for work. Got to see around. Nice place for drinks.

I attended an office holiday party in the larger downstairs room. The food was good, but the service was what left the best impression. The waiting staff was very attentive, to the point where the bartender went out of his way to get us utensiles. Valet was profesional and the front door was opened for every single guest coming and going

A unique experience. The hotel is in a prime location. Although it is very luxurious, you can dress casually. The service is perfect and the staff is attentive, professional, accommodating and very friendly. We had 2 rooms, one with a view of the pier and one with sea view. The separation from the bathroom, which has a whirlpool, to the room, is very original. The rooms, like the whole hotel, provide comfort and you feel very comfortable.

Ate at Coast for dinner. Ridiculously overpriced. Poor service.

Just stop by with some friends for drinks. The bar was not bad. Fairly quiet for a Sunday afternoon. On the plus side, the bartender made a great Paloma.

Nice place to eat. Food was good and the service was excellent. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and has great views of the beach. Just be weary when dining outside and check your chairs for bird poop before sitting down. They could use a little improvement in dealing with this issue, it kinda ruins the appetite.

This place is pretty awesome I love the decor, deep dark red walls, eerie painting illuminated by lamps from below, drinks are standard price... Great cheap whiskey shot/beer combos or tequila/beer.. Great dive bar and seating in the back for a more intimate setting. I had a great time here!

Shutters on the Beach!!! Perfect in every way. The ambience is incredable. A place that is frequented by Hollywood
personalities. So elegant. The ocean view the pier the boardwalk. E verything is special in everyway. Not to be missed.
