What an absolutely amazing experience my wife and I had at Shutters on the Beach. The rooms were immaculate and beautiful while the ocean views from our room were incredible and was the icing on the cake for us. The Lobby was well tidied and the staff very friendly and outgoing. All-in-all, I would rate Shutters on the Beach a 4.8/5 and would recommend it to anyone looking to lodge in an amazing hotel while in the Santa Monica, Ca area.

My eggs Benedict were so-so. They looked so little on my big white place with a few fried potatoes on the side that I wondered why they charged so much more here than other places. Oh I know...location, location, location! Our server gave us the wrong tab, etc. Probably won't be back here. Too many other places going on with better food!
Really nice service they have going on and the service one would expect when they are near the beach the view was amazing and I would definitely go again
It's a hotel that's has a restaurant named One Pico. It has a ritzy feel. It's clean, open and fresh. Went for a birthday lunch. they have Beautiful shutter windows that look out toward the beach and catch the breeze. Celebrities known to be spotted here as well from time to time.
Had a lunch meeting here with some people that flew in from NY. The view was unforgettable. And I was coming from Newport Beach where being on the water is the norm. But Shutters on the beach is situated in a gorgeous area away from all the hustle and noise of Santa Monica. They offer valet parking but you can use public beach parking just around the corner for 50 cents per hour or something ridiculously cheap. The staff inside Shutters are all highly trained, white glove staff who understand the co's clientele and treat everyone with tremendous respect. One of these days, i plan on taking my sweetheart and staying the night in their hotel. I did not have a chance to try their food.
Exquisite place. Direct on the beach like no other place in Santa Monica or Malibu Beach. Extremly friendly and professional staff. Happy looking faces, always smiling, professional. Well done Management, congratulation. This place stands out from all the luxury establishments in the area. No rival in sight, not even the Loews next door can compete . Staying in the SHUTTERS is the next best thing being in paradise. One steps out of the hotel directly onto the sand of the Santa Monica Beach into a paradise lined with palm trees. The pier is just the right distance away. One can see it but can't hear it. Yet a 5 minute walk to have all the entertainment on could wish. The SHUTTERS ON THE BEACH HOTEL is truly on the beach like no other place. Its interior is original, clean, vibrant. A restaurant (in and out door) and bar filled with light and leave no wish open. If you visit Santa Monica and you have not been to the SHUTTERS, you have not been in Santa Monica. The SHUTTERS is a must go. I highly recommend it.
Incredibly attentive staff on a beautiful property. The ideal location leaves you within walking distance to shopping and central Santa Monica. We will be returning soon.
What an outstanding spot. Nice boutique hotel with nice restaurant(s). We had brunch at Coast right on the beach. Somewhat pricey but you're paying for the location. Although food was very good and well prepared and tasted real good. Service was also good. Strongly recommend reservation
Outstanding hotel!!! Service was great and the personnel very professional. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast at the Glance was awesome. Their bakery is the bomb...from muffins to pancakes!!
Went there to grab a bite with a friend. I got salmon sandwich. He got a burger. The food was alright. I wish they had a better beer selection though. They only had a Guinness out of the darker ones. Will go again since it's conveniently located.
It truly is one of the most beautiful hotel I've been. Elegant, sea, you fall asleep and you feel the ocean waves If you go to Santa Monica you can not stay here !!!!
I've been here a couple of times for dinner and for a wedding. This is a beautiful venue, right on the beach in Santa Monica. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The place is clean and well kept.
I was at a business lunch at the upstairs dining room. Very comfortable, nice view from a window table. My food was excellent, grilled sea bass and vegetables. Fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, moist and flaky with no hint of fishiness. The service, however, was pretty bad. We had several long (up to 10 minutes) stretches where out waiter simply disappeared. Coffee and dessert (a pretty good lava cake) took forever. Prices seemed competitive for similar restaurants in the area.
Atmosphere is great. Seated quickly without wait, but it was a Wednesday. Salad was awesome and I don't even like garden salads. The chicken was superb. Although a small portion so don't expect to get a full meal unless you get an appetizer.
visited here a few months back and everything was beyond my expectations. Great customer service, food was delicious and rooms were clean and very organized
Johnnie was excellent. He was friendly knowledgeable and wonderful in accommodating our needs. In fact my 6 year daughter even had a little crush. Rooms were clean and food was great. Can t beat the location even though it rained a bit the walks were short.
Beautiful Day....Sat on the deck....server perfect...food perfect...wine superb....only thing wrong....I left my half a lobster blt in my to go bag...I wanted that sandwich.
We had dinner at the restaurant, Pico One. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Beautiful view of the ocean from every table. Will definitely come back.
My experience was overall enjoyable; the staff was very friendly and helpful. Situated near the Santa Monica Pier, the location was also fantastic and allowed for many activities nearby.
Due to the direct beach location (which only 2 hotels on the Santa Monica Pier have) and the proximity to the Santa Monica Pier, this hotel is particularly worth visiting for me. The rooms and the exterior of the hotel are old fashioned nice to look at. The only negative aspect for me, however, are the dishes, which are delicious but still overpriced.
