On 31st Dec., 2014 dinner we had to pay 10000 per couple compulsarily as we were staying there from 30th Dec. till 1st Jan and wanted to enjoy new year eve.. We had taken 4 villas and one villa had only a single person as his wife is no more and he was also charged Rs.10000 which has no logic. They made all of us sit in such a remote place in a corner on 31st evening where there was no music, celebration or any kind of entertainment. they had closed all the restaurants and there was no eatery around nearby. We are totally vegetarian and what have they given in Rs.10000/-. We did not have any alternative and were confined and could not have any fun or enjoyment. We need refund of the food money of Rs.40000/- charged to us for no reason. We do not need any explanation regarding this if possible please arrange for refund.

hi My family stayed at this resort on 20 th june 2015,our experience was very bad, firstly the approach road to the resort is horrible, more over they give an impression that the resort is around lonavala which is not true at all,the resort is nearly 1.5 hrs drive from lonavala near pune. The food is very bad, service is horrible, staff is only taught to say yes sir, ok sir, and not to give service to the guest. Not a single board showing the location of the hotel is put on the approach road.
over all my review about this place is PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS RESORT

Staying here now. Would give it 0 stars if I could. No view from room as advertised. Just see old branches and trees. Bathroom has broken tissue holder. Spiders in outside balcony. Spa unreachable (phones down). Check in process too slow.
The only thing going for this place is their polite and friendly staff.

Luxurious resort near Lonavala. Explore nature, away from the hassles of a city. Reaching there is a challenge and if you driving, it's an adventure in itself. It involves several kilometres of hilly roads and some stretches of broken roads and steep inclination. Once you are near the place, you are in another world. You have to park your vehicles at the valet parking and they will drop you to your room by their vehicles. Luxurious rooms, elegant bath tubs with option of outside bath, though the food was not up to the standard they set for themselves. Everyday morning walk gave a chance to see exotic plants, hear sound of flowing water and many types of birds. Worth exploring once.

I was very excited to visit the property today. Had confirmations for early check in but received room @ 3:45. Had to request for welcome drink for 3 times. In room no toiletries were there had to call for them. ( I have booked two rooms same was the problem in both the rooms ) the audio system in the rooms is outdated no Bluetooth not even aux cable. I had requested the manager to get in touch with to report my discomfort regarding the stay , but he /she never called back. The two stars I am giving is purely because the food and ground staff are very good ( front desk is not up to mark ). The property needs certain technological upgrade. One of the rooms that I have booked has two to three lights not working , the same was reported but never solved. The property is not at all worth for the amount of money we pay. This property could have been another level if they could work more on guest services and comfort.

Excellent property. Highly Recommended for family and children. Guest services are high quality. Food is good and healthy. There is no over load of sugar and spices the way it is done in many other hotels. Choices of restaurants gives you enough options to try out if you are staying for a longer period. Choices of activities to keep you engaged Pottery, treks, Walks, Painting ..

Watch outs:

2. If you are planning a large family gathering/company events etc. remember the individual villas are spread in a large area. You can t walk to another one because if the distance. Meeting others will ideally happen only in common area like restaurants, Shillim Institute etc

3. If you are paying by another currency credit card check the foreign exchange rates. I was charged the lowest ever exchange by any India based vendor and no cleat explanation provided. Pay in Indian Rupee to avoid overpayment in foreign currency

We came here is September 2020, just after e-pass restrictions were lifted in Maharashtra.
The positives first - it is a beautiful, green property and a heaven for nature lovers. Lots of walking trails (mostly uphill/downhill), secluded walking paths, hidden streams... A veritable delight to the tired city eyes.

The hotel, however, is still trying to find the balance between being a 5-star property and being Corona safe. So the following didn't work for me -
1. Very limited food options
2. No buffet spreads
3. No daily housekeeping, unless you specifically ask for it
4. In room dining plates not getting cleared - ours were lying outside for the entire duration of the stay, despite telling housekeeping to clear it

One expects a certain experience in a 5* and that has been severely compromised by the pandemic. I won't blame the hotel - they are trying their best, but the experience did not give me the bang for the buck I expect from a 5*.

Maybe this is the beginning of a paradigm shift for the luxury tourism segment - but nevertheless would recommend the property for its absolute natural environment and a genuine attempt being made despite restrictions

It's a superb retreat with calm and prinstine surroundings...slightly high on the prices, but totally worth every penny u pay for it...rooms, food, service, location...can't pinpoint a single flaw

I booked Hilton shillim for my wife's birthday and she just loved it. The property is huge and easily would take two days to enjoy all activities. Best time to visit in winters and during light rains.

Not happy at all, with my experience here. The pictures posted on the hotel site of the rooms - is far from reality! The rooms do not look at all how the pictures are! Moreover, they having a set-menu for lunch and dinner, which is very limited and restricted - no variety, quantity is not even sufficient for 2 people and you end up paying a bomb and not being happy with what you have eaten! Even the breakfast ... it is limited menu! The tub in the bathroom has no railings! One feels scared all the time of slipping inside the bath tub!
I have stayed in many 5 Star hotels .. this did not even feel like a 5 Star! Very disappointed ...

Beautiful property and lots of activities. We tried forest walk and had fun exploring various trees and herbs. Not many animals. Just saw peacock and wild boar. Property is well maintained. Good for yoga and meditation.

Very very very costly. Not much to do. After u reach there by afternoon u have ur food n rest for some time. Then go out for various activities. By that time everything is shut down. So you hardly get to do anything except bathe in the ultra huge bathtubs in your room. Which is very exotic or book a super expensive massage for yourself. And again dine on the super expensive buffet as there is nothing around this resort if you want to go somewhere else to eat. It's a nice place. But Super expensive

WE booked valley view super room for 3 adults. last 1o miles road to hotel is horrible and back breaking.Inspite of booking extra bed ,paid for it, bed was not there. There is no valley to look. From balcony we see only bushes.Lights were not on. We complained on phone 4 times and it took 45 minutes to get the lights that too after calling duty manager. His explanation was that property is just 2 years old and there are many teething problems.Staff is untrained, service poor. Any thing one orders it takes 20-25 minutes. Explanation given that it is the large property of 300 acres and 12 kms of roads inside for the order to execute. Tea kettle was not working and was replaced. We were asked to keep the outdoor bathroom door closed after evening as there are snakes. Food is also nothing to talk about.Very high priced. Evening organic dinner of 3 course was for Ra.3,000/pp. Swimming pool was under repair.
This cannot be called Hilton 5 star resort.

Beautiful, huge, property in the lush green dense forest way inside in the mountains. Pretty sure you'll have a memorable stay here in this peaceful heaven. Everything from the rooms to the stay, the location, the hospitality was top-notch!!!

Had requested them to change my Room as the allotted room (408) was like almost 1floor down and my parents who are 65+ were having issues to walk. Called the reception and requested the lady and she said me she would check with the duty manager and would get back to me in 20minutes but she never called back. Tell me the place is totally booked i want mind. I just requested never forced so a call back with a YES or N0 would been better. Food was disaster it was tasteless and nothing was even spicy, but the staffs in the restaurant were good and always smiling. Morning breakfst they do provide fresh juice which is not kept on the Buffet you'll have to tell them to get it reason they are short of space. I have travelled to so many countries for Vacations and have checked in so many hotels trust me this Hotel check-in process was the slowest. Enquired them about the Wifi service via facebook a day prior to checkin and they replied me after i checked out. Road towards the Hotel is horrible get a SUV, if you planning to go with a Sedan then it's on your own risk. Property is very big and they have Tata Nano inside for travelling within the property. Was here for the long weekend i feel i wasted my holidays instead should have visited some other place.. Never coming back again !! Stayed in Room No 408 and 210 !

Award winning resort nestled in Sahyadri mountains...

Award winning resort nestled in Sahyadri mountains, spread over 350 odd acres of unspoiled & well preserved natural forest habitat - is about 3 hrs drive from Mumbai or Pune. The infrastructure, the design, the buildings & open spaces just blend in with the natural surrounding topography & vegetation. One marvels at the attempt & continued efforts in preserving the natural beauty of the region. Being a Hilton property, the facilities, the quality, the staff & the food are excellent & expensive. The complete resort is a non-smoking zone. More details on the property can be found on various sites. Definitely worth a visit for peaceful break.

It's one of the best greenery based villa resorts in India. Breathtaking views, world class facilities and great hospitality all in one place, can't ask for anything better. One of the best places for a relaxing weekend getaway near Mumbai/Pune. Must visit for sure

The place itself is amazing. It sits on the side of a mountain overlooking a valley. There are no rooms but villas, all of them spread out and they have tata nano cars to take guest between villas or to the restaurants/reception. The villas are actully quite private and you dont feel like you are in a resort but rather by yourself. Definitly try and go to the different restaurants - the mountain bar, the terrazzo - all of them have different views. The food though is a different story. We went to dinner at the terrazzo, the buffet didnt look appetizing so ordered a la carte which was ok. The breakfast at the same place waa horrible - i was served chicken sausages and bacon which seemed like were in the freezer for ever and were cooked for only a minute before being served. Extremely bad considering its a five star property. So apart from the food its a pretty good place.

Excellent property and courteous staff , since we were with an infant they were kind enough to prepare his specific meals upon request . We booked the king spa pool villa and the room was in an immaculate condition, including the private pool . Superb food at the restuarants within the premises as well offering fantastic views. Shall definately revisit .

We had a beautiful romantic weekend with amazing Jain food and super Yoga sessions. Weather and views we're at their best in last week of November. Road leading to the property is very bad in patches.

Super place, staff is humble and helpful, lower villas do not have any views, just relax and enjoy room, spa is on little expensive side but they have many varieties, good quality of food , mostly all organic products are used to prepare food, house keeping, taxi for internal transfer takes some time may be around 15/20 minutes .good place for 1or 2 nights

Trust Hilton to build a resort inside a densely fo...

Trust Hilton to build a resort inside a densely forested foothill and make us drive all the way from the city to catch a weekend of peace and serenity. That too in great luxury and style. Well, it probably works coz this was our second visit and the resort was well occupied this time around too.
The villas are purposefully bare with Kota flooring and all that but very spacious and well appointed with all the creature comforts you need including a huge comfy bed, a big veranda, largish bathtub and an open shower area. So full marks there.
Service is excellent though it does take time for everything as the villas are really spaced out and everything can be accessed only by their in-house fleet of chauffeur- driven Tata Nanos. So don t go nuts if your snacks take 45 mins. to reach your room. Thats pretty normal.
The overall theme is wellness and so is the food. They have scrapped fried stuff. So no fries with your sandwich. Overall food quality is very good and now turning bland to suit the wellness atmosphere. Theres the usual bars and pools etc etc but really this place is to relax, walk around the huge property, take spa sessions and come back detoxed and fresh, and of course, with a lighter wallet as this is a pretty expensive place.

Not really a resort for children so better keep them home if possible. Staff is extremely polite, friendly and helpful. We found a friendly face in Shovan Das who tossed up some lovely cocktails. And some on-the-house pastry after our dinner was a nice gesture. After spending all that money, its the small things like a piece of free pastry that puts a smile on your face!!!

Drive in from Khandala is 60 mins on a normal day and double that on weekends. Esp monsoons. So by-pass Lonavala using the expressway and wriggle out after the 2nd tunnel on your left and take the underpass to reach Shillim. Google Maps should do the rest. Its a bit tricky to find the turn but the rest is a breeze.

Amazing property , good , clean and well maintained villas. Room service is ok but the hotel restaurants lacks staff and has very poor food service . We experienced food being served almost an hour after placing orders..and that s a big put off , could do much better if it paid attention to these areas ..

Plus points - up in the hills, totally among nature, peace and quiet. Huge campus, plenty of birds.
Negatives - certainly not up to the Hilton standard. Faucets were leaking, lack of toiletries till one asks for, intercom wasn't working, the carpet was extremely dirty, no courtesy shown by having the car cleaned as it had to be parked out in the open for 3 days. No feedback taken on the services offered, be it the food, the stay, the facilities or even the very costly spa / massage services. Not one official asked us for a feedback. The fans were creaking noisily in the library. They could neither switch them off nor get them attended to.
In short, we had a relaxing time at the resort, but certainly not our money's worth. More of a 2 to 3 star resort.

Huge property.. good landscape.. that s where the positives of this luxury property ends. Drawbacks:
1. Long drive from Mumbai with worst possible roads
2. Staffs are not able to manage any services- starting from luggage, check in services (took one hour to complete the process and reach the allocated room), check out service (again an hour activity), very average food- we had to request thrice to serve a simple Omelet ( twice is was served half done, loads of pepper, with some egg shells )
3. Uncooperative staff

Horrible service, even 2 star properties have better staff.. they delay serving food to the point you will say no, they don't keep tea bags or towels in your room, you will not get anything despite requesting, very rude and arrogant staff..worst experience ever. You don't even get any view from your room as it's covered with thick bushes..you wonder why the heck u traveled so long and paid a bomb

Hilton Shillim is a vast property spread out in 320 acres. The property itself is beautiful nestled amidst nature. Owing to the large area covered, you can always find a new spot to walk around, sit and relax. It is a perfect getaway from the hustle bustle of the city. You can get very calming views of hills and valleys from the resort.
The staff is well trained, all the areas in the resort are well appointed.
The rooms are large and clean. However one can find some spots that require some attention in terms of cleaning.
The restaurants are very expensive. The menu is limited but whatever that is on the menu is generally good and you would not feel starved.

This is a phenomenally beautifully planned naturally untouched place to relax, unwind and rejuvenate. The best I ve been to.
A special thanks to Mr Binu John and Mr Janeya for the wonderful hospitality shown to us.

A very rejeuvenating experience. Liked their polite service staff who greet you wherever u go. Rooms are big and spacious, making up for more than luxury. Very big estate. To go to any place in the estate for example swimming, or breakfast or spa u need a car. Walking is an option but you will get tired on the first day of your stay. They have car pick and drop service all around the estate. Lots of well planned complimentary activities like different types of yoga, cooking, pottery, swimming lessons, bird watching, forest trail etc to keep people of all ages busy.
The hotel buses from the lonavala station and back, leave at fixed intervals. Do check with the hotel about the timings...so it becomes easy if you have a driver and want to send him back after dropping you... Valet car parking near the premises. Private cars not allowed inside the estate. Very well maintained estate with pristine forest and no other civilization around. You don't even need to go out anywhere. Many activities within the premises to keep you busy. So plan to stay in the property only.
My driver missed the bus in the morning, the day I had to check out, next bus was after almost two hours and I had to reach Mumbai soon. My driver took the next bus.
The duty manager Mr. Anik( special thanks) to arrange for a driver ( I don't drive)to drop us mid way to the bus where my driver took over...we saved almost 1.5 hours that way...and I could reach my destination on time.
Do try and stay here for two days minimum to enjoy the place and all activities.
Ah yes, carry sugar if you don't like jaggery powder in its place. (Ayurvedic inspiration).
Breakfast is elaborate. Lunch and dinner u have to do a la carte...could be a bit expensive. Jain food can be ordered on special request.
