I think it's an okay club, with a pretty okay music atmosphere. I've seen better places and been clubbing to better places. You would think they would be much better, especially since they're in the hub of Clearwater Beach. I had my birthday there last year, so aside from the shots which made it a bit better I don't think I'd have my birthday again.

Never stayed in the hotel itself, but have loved in clearwater all my life and have been therebseveral times to the tiki bar and the wave night club. You will see the same review everywhere about their staff..horrible ,horrible, staff.Treat people horribly, unfair and like they are God.There isn't even anyone to talk to about the problems you experience, unless you go sit in front of their office. They don't return phone calls. They truly don't care and any local will tell you the same thing;and the reason why is bc management doesn't care what their staff does bc they get business either way; they are in prime real estate for tourism, no matter how many bad reviews they have(not just google) numerous other websites are 2 and 3 stars for staffing and the way people were treated. Most of my experience is based off the shepards wave night club.Same "head honcho" that manages it all though.

If I could give this hotel no stars that would be more accurate. BUYER BEWARE!!!! This is an ENTERTAINMENT hotel and according to the resort, this means that live music/house music is BLASTED EVERYDAY RAIN OR SHINE UNTIL 3am. That s right folks, 3am!!!! The stage is at the tiki bar between the pool and the beach and faces all of the rooms with gulf views . Apparently rooms on the lower levels even vibrate, it s just that loud. Even at 22 and into the club scene , this place would NOT be okay unless you like to party all night and sleep the beautiful sunny days away. Alternatively, you can stay on the opposite side of the hotel facing the street but even then, it s impossible to escape the music.
The one plus is that they offer ear plugs, for a fee that is.
What happened to noise ordinances and disturbing the peace laws? It s almost as if this hotel resides in another country without protections in place. Truly unbelievable.

Haven't been eating in the restaurant buffet however the bar does good food selection at really good prices (Burgers , Fish and Chips wings, salads etc). They have entertainment every night - live bands. Happy hours every so often so for an extra dollar you get second shot. Would highly recommend. We have stayed in Gulfview Hotel next door so I cannot comment on rooms .

It was a very bad idea to mess with me. I warned you, repeatedly, that there would be consequences. I gave you many chances to make things right.

Shephard's is by far the worst resort in Clearwater, and possibly in the country. It all went downhill after the owner died. Shephard's was inherited by degenerates who are running it into the ground.

This is a party hotel. If you want to get drunk . . Hurl up the Shephards all you can eat prime rib and seafood buffet, Have your drama queen girlfriend cause a scene, get investigated and interrogated by the police, don't care about fist pumping music blaring till 3 am, stepping over puke in the elevator....then you will love this place. If not....Holiday Inn is just down the street.

I recently stayed at Shephards on a girls weekend trip. We had a wonderful time. The room was nice, the resturant delicious and the tiki bars and night life was the highlite of the trip. The bartenders were exceptional, with Michelle being our favorite. She really knows how to make you feel special and was so much fun. We loved all the live music, and the DJ. The only thing I would suggest is to keep the pool a little cleaner, but it wasn't bad.

REVIEW FOR OCEAN FLAME:

REVIEW FOR OCEAN FLAME:
I specifically made my boyfriend go here with me because I LOVE food, and of course this seemed like it would be a decent buffet. Wrong. The food was not worth the money at all,my boyfriend called it a glorified old country buffet. The service and environment is nice but the food lacked in flavor. I was really there for the prime rib, it wasn't that great. There wasn't as many options as I had hoped for either, but there was lots of dessert options, they were okay, the grasshopper pudding type thing in the little shotglass was the best thing I had there. Honestly save your money it wasn't worth it for us to pay 80$

I ve stayed at better places. The pool bar staff was rude on several different occasions I ordered. The bar tender refused selling me a drink because I didn t have a wristband switch in color, again. People dropping cigarettes off the balcony still burning for children to step on while still burning. I m not impressed.

We would like to thank Shepards Beach Resort for making our wedding day perfect!! The sleeping room could not have been better. The entire staff was great, from the valet staff to the front desk to the maintenance guys who assembled the arch on the beach to the young man who maintained the beach sand to the restaurant staff, and last but not least, to Sandy Isenhart. Sandy came through for us, making the entire experience unforgettable. Thank you all!!

Attended Halloween party. Staff was friendly and attentive. Environment was welcoming. I would recommend Shepards for social events or to just have a few drinks. I was thoroughly satisfied.

We had a blast! We live on the east coast of FL but had never been to the west coast. We were scheduled to be on a cruise this week, but as everyone knows have been canceled until further notice. I saw someone say that Clearwater Beach was pretty so I started searching hotels and Sheppard's popped up. I took a chance based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. Best vacation in a long time. We love to cruise, but actually felt there were more options staying at this beautiful hotel resort. We made tons of friends and walked all over town in search of the perfect ocean views. We love beach bars and had so many to choose from all within walking distance. Jose at the front desk was beyond helpful, and we appreciate all he did for us. Prices were not bad at all. The only thing the slight bit negative would be that the bartenders seemed to be all business. I know they have to wear those darn masks and we can't tell if they are smiling or not, but at least say hey, where are you all from!! Thank you Sheppard's for a great vacation We will do it again real soon!

Service was astounding. The breakfast buffet was delicious. With plenty of selection. Weather you are a meat eater or a vegetarian. But beware the veggie casserole has jalapenos in it. Lol ....Don't have to stay there to enjoy. Might I add it was delightful to enjoy our breakfast listening to the soothing sounds of waves. With spectacular views of the ocean. While eating on the patio. I would highly recommend.

There is a LOT to love about Shepard's Beach Resort. I spent Thanksgiving week here with my sister. Shepard's Beach Resort is outstanding in terms of location, cleanliness, and its private beach. The sand is like velvet! Every staff member we encountered was welcoming and friendly. Specifically, Taylor at the front desk, and Maxwell who not only enabled our TV to 'cast' when we couldn't get it to work, and also to handle a slow drain in our bathroom sink. The waitresses that serve the pool area and the bartender down there are also super-friendly and attentive.
Now for what you MUST be aware of when staying here: there is live music every night that is very very loud. If you have an ocean-view room (which you pay extra for), you will NOT be able to escape it, and it usually goes on until 2am. I'm not saying it is bad music - nearly every night the band was good. But you cannot sleep through it, even with earplugs. If live music (and staying up that late) is your thing, you'll have no problem. The best was Sunday afternoon entertainer Cutty. He is talented and I loved his music. If he'd had CDs sitting out to purchase I absolutely would have bought one.
I would stay here again in a minute, but would (sadly) have to request a street-view room so I could perhaps rest in peace in the evenings - and I don't even know if that's possible. I should have asked to be let into an empty room on that side to see if I could still hear the music.

That late, loud music is the only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review. I truly wouldn't expect them to stop having it, it is surely a money-maker for them and the only live music to be had in Clearwater Beach.

Food was cold. Line servers were horsing around with each other. Crab legs $10 extra. Not worth the $36 we paid. Table service was slow, drinks didn't get refilled. Poor experience all around.

This place is for drunks, teenagers on spring brake and alike.
Beach is awful. There is no way you can swim. All the waterfront is occupied by jet skis. All kind of boats are running back and forth literally next to the swimming area. Water and air smells like gasoline. Water is dirty and seaweeds are everywhere. Beach chairs placed so close to each other that you feel like you are in a movie theatre, or it's a sea seal's mating ground.
Music start to roar as early as noon and never stops until late night. It's so loud that yo can't hear what you are saying.
You can't walk through the bar that is between hotel and the beach. You are required to have wrist band. And pay for it $6.
Very noisy, dirty and cheesy place. Never ever come back.

Sharing a part of the tourist strip with a varieties of hotel and restaurants, I found, Shepard's Beach Resort with no issues. Checking in was a bit of a lengthy wait, but no fault is to be placed on the staff. Looking through the glass windows I was greeted by the sight of a very spacious entertainment area. Pool, cabanas serving food and drink, tables conveniently scattered and music played at a pleasant volume conducive to the environment.
Room and bathroom were found to be very clean. Our fourth floor view was of the stage and water. I reserved a handicap accessible room. Grab bars were plenty but I was disappointed for the lack of a shower seat.
Settled into our room, we made for the outdoors. Navigating the grounds in a wheelchair was easy as pie. Finding a table next to a cabana was a sincch. Servers were plentiful, food was ordered and served in a timely manner. The food was hot and tasty. We enjoyed a cold brew and a great hamburger. Music was being provider by an entertainer singing and on playing guitar solo. Perfect for a late afternoon calm.
On returning to the hotel for a night at the Capital Theater to here a great band, we were greeted by a band doing cover songs. The crowd was festive, the beers cold and the staff accommodating. A D.J. proceeded to follow the band. The music, though not my style, was enthusiastically accepted by the crowd. I wasn't ready for the bass. It literally shock me to the bone and once settled back in my room it shuck the very foundation of the hotel. Needless to say, falling asleep was an issue.
All in all, I would go back. Clearwater, especially the town, was fun to visit. The hotel lived up to their four stars and reputation as a popular night spot.

As far as the resort the room was clean. Upon checking in they charge you a refundable 50.00 fee. I was told that I would see that credit in 7-10 business days on my credit card statement. I have called three times now and still no refund.

WE JUST WANTED TO CELEBRATE OUR 28th ANNIVERSARY. . .

My wife & I checked into the resort; 5/4/20.
The hotel is very nice & very clean. The maid service & desk staff are super.
However, by 12:PM, 5/6, my wife & I had phoned the desk with 7 complaints about noise from A BOOM BOX from the room next door.
Our complaints were along with 2 complaints from 2 other rooms. That's a total of 11 complaints by guests in 2 days.
The maid service & front desk attendants had already complained for, at least, 2 days before we were placed in rooms adjacent to the offending room.
The noise continued, even though we were told that security had been summoned. The noise did stop for awhile after complaints.
Security, evidently, didn't have the authority to enter the room to see drugs, marijuana, or the boom box , that was the obvious offender; being used in the room by the 2 men & a woman.
Wednesday AM, armed with the nothingness of security reports the hotel manager called me & spun her textbook, circular conversation which...
MADE THE CLIENTELE & HER OWN EMPLOYEES LIARS,
We had little to no relief from the, meek, monotone, hotel manager or security who, a search of the internet tells me, is questionable.

WARNING: At check in we didn't realize the neighborhood we were in. There was a double murder on the property the next night.

We stayed here 2 times. By the beach, staffs are friendly, free parking, room is clean, live music, foods and drinks are good. I wish the beach was bigger but still a nice place to relax for reasonable price.

The room was BEAUTIFUL! Spotless clean from the bathroom to the carpets. Great staff and Valet (valet training guy). Absolutely loved the bands! Clean pool and comfortable bed (wish I could take it with me, I slept like a baby). 10 stars!!

We end up here every year after watching the boat races. Lots of fun, sun, and live music !!! Affordable drinks and beautiful people working there. And if ya get a lil too tipsy ( like after that 4th shot of patron when you hit the floor ) they either help you up to your room or call ya a cab on them !!

Great place for entertainment. If you plan to relax and get rest during your holiday / vacation I do not suggest staying here . However if you want to dance , party , and eat well definitely stay at Shepherds !! They have DJs , live bands and music jamming . Shepherds restaurants are ok but not the best in Clearwater Beach . If you own a boat you can anchor off shore and enjoy the party but sometimes you may have to pay a cover charge . I believe if you just want to order food to go and head back to your boat you don't have to pay a cover but I would ask . If you don't want to miss the party in Clearwater Beach I definitely recommend going and or staying at Shepherd's. It's a BLAST !!! Enjoy the party !
