Tracey H. Review of Shephards Beach Resort

There is a LOT to love about Shepard's Beach Resort. I spent Thanksgiving week here with my sister. Shepard's Beach Resort is outstanding in terms of location, cleanliness, and its private beach. The sand is like velvet! Every staff member we encountered was welcoming and friendly. Specifically, Taylor at the front desk, and Maxwell who not only enabled our TV to 'cast' when we couldn't get it to work, and also to handle a slow drain in our bathroom sink. The waitresses that serve the pool area and the bartender down there are also super-friendly and attentive.
Now for what you MUST be aware of when staying here: there is live music every night that is very very loud. If you have an ocean-view room (which you pay extra for), you will NOT be able to escape it, and it usually goes on until 2am. I'm not saying it is bad music - nearly every night the band was good. But you cannot sleep through it, even with earplugs. If live music (and staying up that late) is your thing, you'll have no problem. The best was Sunday afternoon entertainer Cutty. He is talented and I loved his music. If he'd had CDs sitting out to purchase I absolutely would have bought one.
I would stay here again in a minute, but would (sadly) have to request a street-view room so I could perhaps rest in peace in the evenings - and I don't even know if that's possible. I should have asked to be let into an empty room on that side to see if I could still hear the music.
That late, loud music is the only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review. I truly wouldn't expect them to stop having it, it is surely a money-maker for them and the only live music to be had in Clearwater Beach.
